Chapter 2: Switching Sides
It was now the day he would have to leave Twilights house, and kill Twilight herself. His wing felt better, even though he never felt any pain from it. His stomach though, had gotten better. Since he'd waited to long to get help, he wasn't able to eat for a few days. He planned to move today, though. The only problem he had was... her horn. She specialized in magic. If I could tear her horn off.. He thought. It didn't matter though, since his plan needed to go in action today.
Today at midnight, the exact time. He had to go and see somebody today, somebody he couldn't wait to see die.. but he wasn't strong enough yet. He didn't win the race, yet. Though, without knowing it, his mind traced back to that night..
"It's my business..." He had told them.
"Shadow Fade, you don't realize what will-"
"I'll complete it.. the race."
"Fade you're not strong enough.. You'll die."
He smiled at the thought of them saying that.
"I'm already dead. I'll take the race, and I'll end it. Do you want to still stick with me? Or do you want to be like the others?"
"Go son. Go. I guess it's only right, since you and your sis-"
Fade could suddenly remember the chill his sisters name produced. He could also remember when fear held him. He hadn't completed the "race". He had failed on his behalf. He had completely forgotten about it, or tried to. He could suddenly feel him hugging himself. I have to move.. now. He thought. It would be best for him, and he could feel the ruthlessness even though he knew he didn't have a soul.
He needed a reality check. Yes, he did have to move. Right now. As he got out of his bed, he saw the moonlight shine on his back. He tried to sneak out, but his hooves where too loud.
He felt satisfied when he saw the castle rise out of the midnight air. It almost stood there, mocking him. He climbed the steps, leading into the gates.
"No access at this time. Sorry, sir." A Royal Guard said.
Fade just said three words, and he was allowed access. He used the three words he didn't like to use though, and even just saying them, it made him want to climb out of his skin. Though, he was led to Celestia's throne. She seemed to be talking to Luna, her sister. Though, she seemed to sense him. He grinned.
"Good to see you're doing fine." He faked a bow.
"Luna. Leave. Now." Luna didn't even waste a second. An angry sister that could control the sun, not even a choice.
"Y-y-you.." She said, in anger, hatred, and concern.
"Yes. I've returned.. Sad to say, you know, I don't want to call you-"
"Don't. You've sword down the-"
"Oh I have, right? After I killed those innocent people.. Just to see if you was a threat. You didn't even try."
Celestia grew uncomfortable. "Does your sister know.. Have you told her?"
He looked at his hooves. "I'm not sure.. does she? Did she find out on her own?"
"Fade. We cannot risk this. It isn't a game."
"No. But I don't won't her to find out. Do you want that, Mother?" The question seemed to take Celestia off guard. He continued, "What will you do? Nothing. That's why I've come here. To take the throne."
Celestia eyes lit up with hatred. "You won't win the race. And you won't kill her."
"You see mother, I've already won the race. I only need one more person. You can think, and decide if you'd be that person."
He turned to go. But suddenly, he realized he made the decision for her: She was useless. He suddenly started laughing, laughing at his Sadism, his mother, his prison, and anybody else who thought they could stop him.
Fade climbed out of his bed, the day had finally came. That stupid and useless Twilight Sparkle.. He thought to himself. He had deep feelings for her, he wanted to user her because she was powerful. She was more powerful than him, and he hated it. She could make words powerful, and she could possibly make people get on their knees if she wanted to.
She was the only pony that knew about his rare medical condition. And without her knowing, he always knew she feared him. When he made waffles she never ate them. She refused to be in the same room as him. But of course he knew she wasn't smart enough to remember what happened. Not one of those foolish mares where.
While Sparkle was out grocery shopping he had been planning everything. Every single thing. But he wondered one thing..
Where was that godawful of a baby dragon? The last time I saw him he was taking a nap.. Oh yes, a nap..
****
As Sparkle got back from grocery shopping she realized something wasn't right. Upon seeing her with a worried look in her eye, the other mares stopped talking and giggling. "Shhh.." she said in a whisper, "The house is way too quiet.." She put one hoof on the wall, and leaned on the wall a bit. With the other hoof she tightened around the key to her house. Silently she nodded for Rainbow Dash to fly in first, and Apple Jack to follow.
Slowly, she turned the key in the key whole and opened the door.
Rainbow Dash flew straight into the wall. But Twilight knew something was wrong. She just sensed it. But it all happened too fast. Apple Jack running into something another wall, Fluttershy crashing into Dash, and Rarity standing in the middle of the chaos. Twilight tried to understand what was going on, and then laughter started.
"Fools," she heard a familiar voice say, "Fools." She looked up to see Fade leaning on a stairway's rail. "F-Fade?" She tried her best to say. She still tried to develop her surroundings, but it seemed as Discord was in her home. "Hello, Sparkle. Isn't that it? You know, I really don't want to do this, but I may have to kill-" Anger came into his voice, "You and your friends.."
Suddenly, some of the noise stopped, and Dash seemed to be in shock with her mouth open. "And I haven't forgotten you, Dash." His voice grew colder, and suddenly Dash was able to speak. "Y-you.. You should be dead.." She tried to charge Fade head first, but he broke a piece of the railing as a weapon. In his hands were millions and millions of splinters, yet he seemed to break it like it was nothing.
Dash stopped before she crashed into the broken wood. The other mares turned their attention to Fade, wanting amazed and scared of what he just did. "You was always a Sadist.." Dash said with distaste. "Unlike you, I'm fit to be the next warrior that leads the-" Dash seemed to flinch when Fade said that.
"You have no idea." Dash said. When Dash said that, Fade revealed a small piece of mane. A piece of mane so powerful nobody could believe it.
The small piece of mane was Celestia's.
Part of Celestia's mane.
And with that, Dash charged. Charged into Fade's endless eyes full of hatred.
