Imagine what would have happened if, 1000 years ago, Equestria's rulers were of a different mindset. If Princess Luna had felt appreciated, and understood how needed she was, and if that favor had tainted Celestia with jealousy and suspicion, what would our modern Equestria be like? If hurt feelings and anger had driven Celestia to take on the persona of DayStar and usher in eternal day and endless summer, would friendship still be as magical? Would any be free from DayStar's iron hoof?
