Prologue
"T'was a day in Cloudsdale."; wait, that's not right. Let me start over. "I live my life, one day at a time.", now that's just sad. "It was a beautiful day in Equestria, the birds chirping and ponies chatting with their circle of friends."; yeah, that's it. It's hard to start a story right; especially when you have never written a story before.
I was doing my daily laps around Ponyville to get my wings moving. I was also trying to find a very special pegasus. I went to Sugarcube Corner to see if she might be there. Along the way, I found Derpy, staring at the mailbox adorably. I never really knew the story behind her entrancing orange eyes.
She looked at me and said "Are there muffins on the moon?"
"I'm sure the moon has no life, thus, no muff—" I was already captured by the hypnotizing eyes. I stood there, looking at her eyes for almost twenty minutes. I suddenly remembered my friend and got out of the trance. I continued my flight around Ponyville. I went by the library to return some books I have finished reading, and I got some for a new set for reading. One of the books is called Cupcakes. I don't know what it is, but curiosity got the best of me. Next, I went by Sweet Apple Acres to buy me some breakfast. I love apples, especially apple fritters. Their sweet taste always makes my day. Finally went to Sugarcube Corner to meet up with my friends.
.As I thought, Cloudchaser was there along with our friends, Blossomforth, Wind Whistler, and Thunderlane. Thunderlane didn't mind if he was the only boy in our circle of friends.
"There you are, I've been looking all over for you." I said with a grateful sigh.
"We we're supposed to meet here, remember?", Cloudchaser said.
"Yeah, I kinda lost track of time." I said with a blushing face.
"Well you're here now, shall we go?"
"Sure."
After that, we went to the cloud factory to join the scheduled field trips. It was amazing, especially the rainbow falls. They warned us not to taste it, but Thunderlane insisted. You don't want to know the end of it. What I can say is that he was in a clinic trying to regain his numb tongue. Next, we went water skiing. It's a different approach in speed, especially the whole sliding on top of water concept. Again, Thunderlane tried to make it exciting. He tried to go full speed; we were behind him skiing. Basically, he was the boat. He didn't see the ramp set up for a training compound. We flew up into the air, a usual thing for us. Then, we hit the dirt so hard we made a hole with the shape of our silhouettes. The rest of the day was spent on treating our wounds and fear of dirt.
After an exciting yet tiring day hanging out with Cloudchaser, I can't wait to lie down on my fluffy bed. First things first. I need to run some errands. It's difficult to run errands with heavy eyes. I went to the market and bought food, I think. It's hard to see with tired eyes. I almost mistook a cluster of clouds for Snowflake. I also bumped to several ponies that I thought it was a cloud. My eyes started to lose focus, but then, I saw it. The most beautiful sight I have ever seen, the sunset. I quickly regained focus. Its vivid warm colors made my heart skip a beat or two. The orange light met with the horizon. Its tails nearly touched me with warmth.
I didn't notice that I had dropped my bag. Shortly, I noticed my missing bag. I panicked and looked around. When I looked down, It fell to a mare's head; a unicorn to be exact. I swooped down to the unicorn and grabbed the bag.She was mint-green. She wore a rugged stone-gray hoodie with patches on one leg. She is carrying a saddlebag with a jar full of bits, a gold lyre, like her cutie mark, and a blank book. I haven't seen her in Ponyville before. Maybe she's a tourist, an unlucky tourist. Anyway, she was angry and confused at the same time. She also has some sort of assistant, a baby dragon.
"Arrrrgh!" grunted the unicorn.
"I'm so sorry. Are you all right? Are you hurt? Let me take you to the hospital." I panicked.
"No, It's all right. I'm ok." said the unicorn with a little bit of agony.
I hope that she really is okay, I don't have the energy left to carry her to the hospital.
"She had casted a protection barrier as training for a demonstration or something. The name's Spike by the way." explained the dragon.
"Nice to meet you, so she's not hurt?"
"If you don't count her horn because of a magical outburst caused by a falling bag, then yeah, she's alright." he shrugged.
"I'm alive, that means I made the barrier correctly!" the unicorn suddenly shouted.
"Gaah!"
"I did it, I did it, I DID IT!!"
After an awkward silence, I started "Hi, my name's Flitter; and you are?"
"Lyra. Lyra Heartstrings." she calmly said. She sounded like she came from an action movie.
"Nice to meet you, Lyra." I grinned.
"So, Is this your bag?" she pointed at the bag full of food.
"Yeah, sorry about that."
"No, it's okay. Without it, I would never finish my elegies."
"Okay, glad I could help." I said with little confusion. I never knew what unicorns think of when they do magic, and I never will.
"Dig the swell hoddie." I added.
"Yeah, I get that a lot." her voice turned slightly monotonic, like she has rehearsed it before.
"Well, I'm gonna be heading out now. It's getting really dark soon."
"Okay then, see you soon." she said with a melancholic tone.
Before I could say anything, I felt a sudden chill."Huh, what was I doing just now?"
I felt my bag beside my left hind leg. I immediately remembered the errand and flew straight home.
"I am the Iron pony!"
"I'm the world champion; I bet you can't beat me?"
"Oui, zat is correct madame!"
"As Celestia is my witness, I will never be sisterless again!"
"If I can't find a friendship problem... I'll make a friendship problem!"
"Gaaah!" I screamed as I sat up on my bed. I don't even know what were those. Are those signs of my destiny? I ponder on it over a glass of milk. Darn, I forgot to buy milk. Well, I'll ponder on it over a glass of water. I tried to think of a logical reason as to why is this happening to me. As I took a sip, I got nothing. I'll try and get help from Twilight. After all, she is really good at logic, science, and magic. She even help us get the water up to Cloudsdale by that, anemonome-thingy.
I don't know what to expect from her this time. I'll just look forward to it.
It's two in the morning, I need sleep!
