Chapter 1: Another companion, a new beginning

Colgate was walking home from her usual job at the dental office when somepony caught her eye. He was a tan colored stallion with a large spiky mane, what caught her eye was the fact that he was wearing a tie! Wearing clothing was a rarity among the ponyfolk, even if it was just a tie. He noticed Colgate's staring turned and smiled at her.

"'Ello there, beautiful day we have here, huh? Oh what a beautiful mane!" He said enthusiastically at ten words a second.

"Uhhh... Hello?" Colgate said slightly confused by the stallion's enthusiasm.

"Oh yes, it's a pleasure to meet youuuu..." He said extending his hoof for a shake.

"Colgate," she replied meeting his shake. " And who may you be?"

"Colgate, god I love the names here, they're so eccentric!" The stallion said with even more enthusiasm then before. "Colgate, would you mind helping me out?"

Colgate hesitated, she wasn't sure she should trust this giddy stallion, they had just met and she didn't even know his name. This would probably be a bad decision. Then she took a good second to look him over, he looked normal, she let her eyes trail down to his flank, she took a good look at his cutie mark. It was just like her's! It was a hourglass, with sands flowing through it. She let out a small gasp, the stallion looked at her.

"Seen a ghost did you?" He asked in his strange accent.

"No it's just your cutie mark it's just like mine," she whispered.

"Would you fancy that, this new body sure is something," he murmured. "Well do you wish to help me or not, I'm going to be leaving very soon and I happens to be important."

Colgate once again stood there silently contemplating. The stallion had a cutie mark just like hers, that had to be a coincidence, right? She silently decided that she would go with him.

"Yes I'll go with you but on one condition."

"Name it."

"What's your name?"

"Well, Colgate, I'm the Doctor." The Doctor stated very matter-of-factly.

"Doctor, Doctor Whooves?"

With that the Doctor then proceeded to smack himself in the face with one of his forehooves. That one was new.

"Not Doctor Whooves, just the Doctor."

"Alright then, Doctor, where are you going?"

"Well right now I'm off to save my ship."

"Wait, you're a Doctor, with a ship, what could you possibly need a ship for? You don't need a ship to perform medical work!"

"Yes, but you do need the ship I have to save good ponies, and other people."

"Well that still makes no sense to me, but whatever. So where are we going to get your ship?" Colgate asked nonchalantly.

"To answer your question, the changeling kingdom," the Doctor said with a crazy smile. Colgate's eyes got wide and she covered her mouth in shock, what had she just got herself into? She eventually calmed herself down enough to speak.

"Ch..Ch...Ch...Changelings?" She managed to stutter off.

"Yes, the blokes stole my ship and plan for extinction of all races in the universe." The Doctor said cheerfully. Then he got deadly serious, "They aren't from this world."

"They're aliens?!?" Colgate screamed. She soon realized they were still out in the public and that other ponies were beginning to stare. "Uhh... Doctor, could we take this somewhere I little more private?"

"And why would we want to do that? Our ride is almost 'ere," he said looking slightly amused.

"Well, other ponies are beginning to stare we coul-"

"let them stare! They'll just see two ponies having an idle chat!"

"About nothing normal!!!" Colgate yelled.

"Never mind that our ride is here, and you better be ready for the long journey," the doctor said coldly. Then looking up Colgate saw what the ride the doctor had been speaking of. She let out a gasp, it was a royal canterlot chariot! It looked completely identical to Celestia's.

"That's our ride?" Colgate squeaked.

"Yep, I have friends in high places, and those certain friends have certain secrets that a certain Gallifreyian happens to know," the Doctor rambled off so quickly Colgate had a hard time understanding what he meant. "I'll explain on the way, for now we're off!"

the Doctor and Colgate both proceeded to step onto the platform of the chariot, and took off into the know darkening sky, the sun setting in the west as per normal. Then the Doctor began is explanation, "Well, you see, the species of pony you call 'alicorn' are actually another alien race that came here to Equestria, that is why there aren't so many here, only three i believe?"

"yes, Celestia, Luna, and Cadence."

"Right, they are the only three Maliroroni here, that is their official species title. The changelings are in the same boat, except they're Coronatalian, they're species sucked all the life out of their planet then only a few that actually were already here on Equestria survived, with my ship, my TARDIS, they can leave."

"Wait what's a TARDIS?" Colgate questioned.

"Time And Relative Dimension In Space, otherwise known as TARDIS, it can take anypony to anywhere in time and space, if used properly, and I dare say they do know how to use one. They're plan is to go back in time before Maliroroni got here and destroy this planet and use the energy to sustain they're own."

"Wow, that's a little much," Colgate said.

"Ridiculous isn't it? But I have the one thing they need," the doctor said pulling a key from around his neck.

"A key?" Colgate said a little disappointedly.

"Not just any key, the key to my TARDIS," the Doctor said assuredly. "Without this, it is nearly impossible to get into it. This is the single most important item on this planet right now."

"Well if its so important, then won't the changelings be after it?" Colgate wondered aloud.

"I would imagine, wait..." The Doctor said turning his head towards the two stallions pulling the chariot. They turned back with a sickly grin. They then turned into changelings, they're holey bodies and legs and tattered wings.

They then took the chariot into a nose-dive into the ground. And the only thing anyone could hear for miles was the mad whooping of a alien hero, and the screaming of his companion.

'Ello all! This is my second fic I ever wrote, I know it's sorta generic. But whatever, please give me criticism if you have any. Like I said this takes place during David Tennant's run as the Doctor. Please enjoy.
