"Are You A Pegasus, Or Not?"

The clock hung on the blue hospital wall. It wasn't really blue, just an illusion of the clouds. The clouds took over the walls and floor, but it was perfectly normal for them. In facts, clouds made up everything in the room, including the bed, tables and the clock. On the other side of the room, a bed was facing the clouds. In the bed, a mare with a white coat was lying down. Her shiny blue mane was pulled into a bun. Her green eyes were focused on the clock as it ticked happily. According to the clock, it was mid-day. Her eyes then shifted to the window, cut out of the cloudy wall. The sun shined in the middle of the clear blue sky, the clock was right. Her face burst into a gleaming smile. Cloudsdale’s skies were never this clear and she was happy it was today for it to be clear. On the other side of the bed, a stallion with a blue-grey coat was standing beside the bed. His clear blue eyes were staring at the mare. His grey mane was neat and tidy, unlike the other stallions in the hospital.

Silence took over the room. The only sound was the ticking of the clock. The wait seemed to take on forever, and the two ponies spoke not one word. The silence was then broken by the trotting of a pony. The mare turned to head to see a nurse coming towards them. The nurse’s face was filled with joy, or did she have to act like that? The mare thought. The nurse had tucked her red mane with pink stripes under her little hat. Her white coat was covered with the uniform of Cloudsdale hospital.  Behind the red maned nurse, were 2 other nurses who wheeled a cradle into the room. They weren’t as happy as the first, they were expressionless. Both the mare and the stallion’s faces were filled with excitement and joy.

“Congratulations, Mrs. Cloud. He’s here for you to see” the nurse spoke in a sing-song voice which was somewhat high-pitched. The two nurses parked the cradle next to the mare’s bed. In the cradle was a small sky blue blanket.
