A Night In The Forest

I ran through the forest for a few minutes before I decided to come to a stop in a small clearing within the trees. It was relieving to find some space in such a forest, I have been hearing strange noises all through out this place. They sound as if they are creatures hungry for flesh. I then realized I was quite hungry. I took a donut out to snack on. It was the best thing I've ever tasted, then again I don't remember eating anything before now. I should probably find something more healthy if I'm going to be running through a large forest like this run, especially if things decide to chase me, running out of energy could be fatal. After the donut I still feel hungry, but I wanted to save the other few donuts i had for another time. I should try to find some food in this forest, maybe an animal. As a matter of fact hunting seems quite fun right now.

'Ponies don't eat meat, silly.'

There it is again, the voice that was inside my head when we left the cave. The headache returned very ungracefully as if my brain just got knotted up.

'Who and where are you?' I thought back. The voice continued, completely ignoring my response.

'Also what in the hay are you doing running through Everfree? You could die out here.' This voice was really getting on my nerves, I responded anyway.

'I know I could die out here, I need to toughen up. And where would anypony let a clone into their house?' The voice stopped, of course.

I'll deal with that pesky voice on another date, now I need to find some food. I treaded along deeper into the woods hearing many bizarre moans and growls, along with the sound of lumber smashing together. Is there a lumberjack out here? I stop to look around, and so does the sound. The forest just turned silent. Suspicious I slowly start trotting, I can hear the wooden noise again. I stop. Is something following me? Paranoid, I start galloping at full speed, despite my hunger, and the bag that is still sitting on my back. That's when I started hearing the heavy breathing and barking.

I turn my head to look, to see three giant wolf looking creatures that look as if they are made out of trees. They seem like they could contest a bear in height standing on their hind legs. These things are huge! Their green glowing eyes make them even more intimidating. Out of fear I keep galloping as fast as I can, completely forgetting about my hunger problem.

'QUICK!!! Weave through tight spots in the trees! They wont be able to fit, they're too big to!' Gah, it's that troublesome voice again. But the fear and sudden headache didn't leave me much time to think about it, so I did as it had told me. I took a sharp turn to the left, causing them to skid and fumble a bit on their legs as they tried making the turn along with me. Wooden legs don't seem like a good tool for running.

I continued doing short quick turns and after about the 6th time, I couldn't hear the terrifying breathing of the wolves. I turned my head first to make sure it was safe to stop and sure enough, it was, so it seemed. I slow down to a trot trying to grasp what had just happened. But before I could finish wrapping my mind around the situation, I heard galloping behind me. At that moment my mind completely stopped thinking and I instinctively lowered the front half of my body on the ground and shot my hind legs into the air. My hooves smacked the wolf creature right in the face with a very satisfying thud. I turned around to see a large pile of sticks and logs on the ground. I felt as if I was the ruler of the forest at that moment, chuckling to myself. I just couldn't help laughing at what just happened.

After pulling myself together, I noticed through the leaves above me the sun was setting, I then decided to settle down thinking I can handle myself if anything tries to mess with me. Making a fire would probably be a smart thing to do at the moment. I gathered a hoof full or two of dry leaves off of the ground and surrounded them with sticks from the creature I slew after crumpling up the leaves. I placed this circle of leaves a few feet away from the large comfortable looking trunk of a tree so I could lean against that and rest I took a few more sticks and attempted the old fashion way of starting a fire by rotating the stick quickly in each direction. It was full blown night before long, and the motion of me trying to make a fire was the only thing keeping me from shivering from how cold it was. After a long while of spinning the stick back and forth and eating another donut, needed from all the energy I was spending aggressively making a fire, it finally came to life. Tired of creating the fire, I plop myself against the tree feeling the heat waves of the fire radiate on me. It felt good considering how cold it is out here at night. I thought now was a good time to try and reason with the voice in my head that I keep hearing.

'Hello?' I tried communicating with the voice I keep hearing in my head, I really want to know whats causing it. Also I would like to hear more survival tips. I slow to a stop against the most comfortable looking tree, I'm really worn out, and it's getting quite dark, at least..... I think it is. You can't really tell with all the leaves blocking the sky.

'If you're there, I'd like to thank you for saving my plot out there, but who are you?' No answer.

"Ugh!" I grunt, bonking my head against the tree. "Why won't you answer me!" I scream as I keep smashing the back of my head against the bark.

'Because you aren't talking to me out loud silly.' Hearing the response, I jump as if I was shocked by a lightning bolt.

"Oh, well why didn't you tell me this before!?" I yell out.

'You didn't ask out loud silly'. That caused me to face-hoof in frustration.

"Why the hay do you keep calling me silly? It's annoying"

'Because that's what you are! Silly willy billy!'

At that I do realize how silly I must look right now, I'm in the middle of the woods talking to my brain with nothing but a bag with a couple of donuts, knives, (that I just realized that if I thought to use those against those wooden creatures it would have done little to harm them considering... well... they're wood) and a photo album of my past life I never even lived. Thinking about that I take off the saddle bag that's been drenching my back in sweat, and take the album out to entertain myself for a bit, as an attempt to get the voice in my head off my mind.

'Ya know, I can tell you a few things about Pinkie Pie that may help you learn a bit more about yourself.' Sighing at the most likely nonexistent sound coming from my head.

"Fine" I replied.

'Well if your going to be a bitch about it I guess I don't have to.' Realizing that this voice is in my brain, it can hear all of my thoughts, and it would be nice to know some things about my counter part to get some unasked questions answered.

"Ok, Ok, but why can't you just tell me about myself"

'Well then who you are will be based on who you told who you are, which isn't really making you who you are, silly'

I begin gritting my teeth at the word silly, wishing that this voice was coming out of another physical being so I could whack it in the face with my hoof. Then I heard a giggle come from the voice.

"Ok just tell me about Pinkie Pie" Deciding to ease my stress by giving the name a sarcastic tone to the name.

'Alright well, I believe I should start with the rock farm. When she had written that diary page, she was very emotionally unstable, Thinking about running away and everything. But just before she had finished rotating the rocks to the east field, after which she said she would escape, a magical thing had happened. She had seen the effect of a sonic rainboom, displayed by non other than Rainbow Dash about a mile away. But we are not talking about that pony are we? Well the wave of color and awesomeness was enough to blast away all your sadness and cleared all of the gloomy clouds out of the sky. Along with making her hair go all crazy and poofy. This caused her to want to go and throw a par....

Bored with the story so far, starting to seem to take a lame happy ending, I had drifted off into a deep sleep before the strange voice could finish the story.

I woke up to the sound of bottles clanging together. Still droopy, I had trouble opening my eyes to see where the noise was coming from. But it sounded close, and it was getting closer. Startled, thinking that it is another wacky monster trying to come eat me, my eyes popped open as I got into position to get my stuff together and run. But what I saw wasn't any wacky creature, but a zebra with a brown cloak on, carrying pots and bottles full of liquid hanging on ropes, attached to a stick that could be large enough to be a baseball bat.

"Pinkie Pie! Fancy meeting you here in Everfree. Care to visit my hut to have some tea?"

Author's Note

I thought I just had to include Zecora as an important character in this story. I think her Voodoo crud goes nicely along with Pinkamena's psycho....ness, I guess? I don't know, let me know what you think. :derpytongue2:
