I was pulled from the complete peace of nothingness of the unknown void, and I instantly felt the feeling of life rush through me. The basic knowledge of life filled my just generated brain, and I had been born as a full grown mare from a pond. I had been pulled up out of the pond by somepony’s hoof, into what seemed like the inside of a cave. I looked around and the first thing I saw about fifty copies of...... myself? No. All these ponies have poofy manes, mine is straight, but the color of the mane and coat are a match. The cave that was containing all of these ponies was quite large, large enough to be the home of a dragon. It contained a tint of turquoise that came from both the glowing plant life that was around the cave and the glittering of the water of the pond and the wet walls. I attempt to ask the nearest clone to me where we are and what’s going on, but she ignored me, jumping up and down saying “Fun! Fun! Fun!” As so are the rest of the clones. That is another difference, they are all excited for what seems to be no reason at all, I’m just standing there confused. What's going on? Where am I? Why can I remember nothing before now? I am starting to feel frightened, and insecure. Then one of the mares called out, “To Ponyville everyone!” and the jumping came to a halt. I decided to try and calm down about things and attempt to get and understanding of what exactly is going on here. That copy who had shouted out must be the leader of this group. But I must not belong here. I don’t have the same manestyle and energy that the rest of the ponies have. The confused looking copies stared at the leader. She, knowing what they’re thinking said with a sigh, “Yes, it’s fun there.” Thus driving the ponies back into their energetic attitudes expecting fun to appear. As they hopped behind the leader, she was trying to make us learn the names of her friends before we went to have “fun” with them. She even had taught us her name or.... our names. “Okey dokey lokey,” the leader said, “let’s see how much you remember.” She pulled an easel out of what seemed to be nowhere, and quizzed us on the names of the ponies she showed us portraits of. All the clones were answering them correctly, but I wasn’t paying attention to her lessons. The only name I had payed any attention to was when she mentioned our own name, Pinkie Pie. But she said that it was short for Pinkamena Diane Pie and liked her new name better. Personally, I liked my.... our original name more, but the other mares seemed not to care about the original name. After hearing my full name, I began thinking about the individuality between all of us, if there was any. There had to be some right? I mean, my mane and attitude is different from all the others. Maybe that pool back there was the thing that created all of us. But... I can't be just a mere clone, I know that I am more than that, I do not feel like i'm in the right place here. At that, I had decided that I was my own individual, and didn’t need to be part of this group of clones. But that’s just it, I’m a mere clone. ‘No’ I thought to myself, ‘I am my own mare, I can go handle myself.’ We were then leaving the cave to go to “Ponyville”, walking into the outdoors of this so far strange world, feeling a wave of the scents that were being emitted from the plants of the jungle we had just exited. My eyes had to adjust a bit to the sudden change of light from the sun that had just been revealed from behind the leaves. Despite the shining sun however, it was a quite comfortable cool out here. Leader Pinkie gave us one final quiz on the names, which all the clones had answered correctly. But the final portrait was of Pinkie... but without the poofy mane. It was down and straight just like how mine is, and she looked not as happy as a Pinkie clone should be but rather... depressed. This was giving me thoughts that told me that I must be the real Pinkamena. I was not a part of this group of ponies. I had the strange, sudden urge to make waste of them. But I had no way to do that at the moment, even if I tried I’d be stopped. ‘Woah! What are you thinking?’ a voice inside of my head screamed. It gave me a sudden headache, causing me to grunt and hold my hoof to my forehead. ‘Killing innocent mares? What is your deal?' ‘No,’ I thought back to the strange voice, ‘These mares are nothing but clones, they have no innocence.’ I was waiting for a response to what I had thought, but my headache had disappeared. Legs wobbling, I began to feel antsy, wanting something interesting to happen. Claustrophobia set in as I wanted to just separate from this crowd and go on my own. "Okay let's get on with this folks. Fan out on three..." The original Pinkie's words snapped me out of my thoughts. I then realized that everypony is going to split up and scatter around Ponyville. Before The original Pinkie Pie counted to two I, and the rest of the group without any thought, had scattered into Ponyville already, I was too anxious to want for three. I was galloping as fast as I could so I could find out information about where this is, who I am, and what to do. After a while of galloping and having wind blast through my face, I had looked around me I saw the copies cause all kinds of trouble, such as pranking other ponies and destroying structures, giving off the smell of wood and paint. I'm not sure that this is what Pinkie Pie was talking about as fun but it does look quite amusing. Also it is nice to see Ponies that are other than the color of pink. Pink is so bright and can get really annoying to look at. After a few more minutes of exploring the town, and every once and awhile causing a bit of chaos with some ponies just for the heck of it, I noticed that the residents were gathering in front of somepony's house for a tree, complaining about all of the Pinkie Pies appearing. Strange house to live in but no matter, I've got to figure things out before this mob of Pinkies gets taken care of. First off I must find wherever Pinkie Pie lives. I had felt the temptation to ask somepony but that would be a bit strange to ask where your own house is. I continued exploring through the invaded town, then I found a Pinkie sitting on her knees on the ground with her head resting sideways on top of the table and was picking at the ground with her hoof. I decided to take a chance to ask her sense she neither jumping around uncontrollably nor a suspicious mind. "Hey you." I said as I walked up to the depressed mare. She looked at me with confused eyes. "Me? Why are you talking to me out of all of these other Pinkie Pies that I had let run a muck?" This must be the original that I had seen earlier, it seemed too obvious, due to her sadness of what chaos that has been created. "Umm yea you. This is going to sound like a silly question but where do you live? Since you are the original Pinkie Pie I assume that you know where your residence is." I said avoiding her question. "You think I'm the real Pinkie Pie? I don't even know if I'm the real Pinkie Pie. How do I know you're not the real Pinkie Pie?" What the hay is she talking about? How shes saying things is making no sense. "Please just answer my question, I need to know" I asked again. "If you want to know Soooo badly, I live inside of Sugarcube Corner, ya know with the building with the enormous cupcake on top?" She said waving her hoof around for emphasis. Cupcake? that must be a sight to see. "Uhh.. alright thank you I guess." I said as I trotted away hearing groans and mumbles coming from the strange pony that I had just talked to. A ginormous cupcake on top, that shouldn't be very difficult to miss. I continued traveling through Ponyville looking for a sign of a giant cupcake. After a bit of me searching for a cupcake and watching the continuing chaos being driven by the Pinkie Pies, I saw three lit candles over a house. Behind that house must be the cupcake, what else would be under those candles? I sprinted around the house to find what looked like a gingerbread house. This must be Sugarcube Corner, considering all of the sugar. I went up to the delicious looking building and stepped inside and the scents of dried paint disappeared, and it was being replaced by the smell of sugary sweets, a pony was ready to greet me inside. "Oh hello Pinkie Pie" said a blue mare with a manestyle that almost looks like her head has been decorated with yogurt. She was mixing batter in a giant bowl and had sugary ingredients laying around everywhere, I wonder what shes making. She must not have noticed the clones around Ponyville yet considering her content attitude. "I see you have a new manestyle. What made you want to get it changed?" This must be the place Pinkie was talking about, she greeted me like she sees me everyday and didn't even seemed bothered by the fact that I had walked in without knocking. "Just trying something new." I had said without looking at her, too focused on heading into the other room. Before she could respond I was already in the giant room. I walked through a doorway into a rather large looking room with a fireplace, a queen size bed next to a small table and a closet on the other side, and a door to a deck looking outside. Aside from all of the streamers everywhere it seemed very cozy, but there was no time to get comfortable, I had to find out everything about Pinkamena before the residents get rid of the clones, including me. I went to the closet suspecting something of use would be inside and opened it to find a very bizarre bunch of costumes ranging from a chicken suit to an outfit with small confetti cannons on it. Pinkie is a very random character. I glanced to the corner of the closet and see a photo album covered in cobwebs and dust. On the front cover it had a plastic picture frame to place a photo in, and it held a photo of a pink coated and pink maned filly. After seeing the photo I quickly snatch the album out of its resting place to see that the mane is perfectly straightened. Anxious to see the rest of the pictures, I sit down on the bed and start flipping through the album. The pictures seem to consist of one family with four members, a father, a mother, and three fillies, me being one of them. Not one photo shows anyone smiling, just the family members slaving away on a rock farm. Flipping through looking for a single smile, I come across a folded up paper. I unfold it revealing what looks like a diary entry, it reads... Dear Diary, Today on the farm we were preparing to turn the rocks to the south field from the west field. I can’t take it any longer, I’ve been working on this farm for two years. I am definitely going to be running away soon, to a more cheerful place, where ponies actually smile, and have fun just like they do in Ponyville. Here it is no fun, and no one smiles, or even talks. We just sleep, work, eat, repeat. On the next rock rotation, I plan to escape this wretched farm to a new life. I need to go show other ponies how I am feeling so they can help us who work here. I have placed the sharpest rock I had found near the exit of the farm, so when someone tries to stop me, I can resist them. I had thought about telling my sisters about it, but knowing them, they wouldn't listen to me. I am just fed up with how much they make fun of my pink color. They will just not stop calling me weak. So they definitely won’t go along with this, they may even tell mother and father. I am on my own with this escape, I will show them, I can defend myself, even if it means living in the Everfree Forest for the rest of my life. I'd like to see them do that and last more than a day. My parents are coming, time to hide this diary, wish me luck on my escape. After reading the Entry, I was Filled with questions, What happened to the family? Did I use the sharp rock on anyone? Has Pinkie shown anypony the pain she felt at the farm? The last two question's answers seemed obvious. No. So it seemed I had to fulfill the promise to myself, to show the pain I had felt, in the manner Pinkamena would seem to have had done it, violently. But what about the family? They obviously hardly cared for me if they allowed my sisters to bully me, and push me to running away. I had to find them and give them what they deserved. I slammed the book shut, ran outside the room and threw on a saddle bag I found that was hung up on the wall, sliding the photo album into one of the pockets. I galloped through the kitchen as Pinkie clones were invading it, and I snatched a few kitchen knives and threw them into the bag. Seeing all of the sugary sweets made me hungry, so I also grabbed a few donuts that were in a box on the counter and slipped them into a plastic baggy and into my saddle bag. I then continued galloping through the door and headed out of Ponyville. After a bit of sprinting I turned around to see destructed buildings and other things destroyed things scattered all over the place. I wish I could stick around actually, it looks quite fun. I realized then the townspeople would be after me. I decided to turn away from the chaos and gallop on out of Ponyville, past a sign that had said "Now entering Everfree Forest". //-------------------------------------------------------// A Night In The Forest //-------------------------------------------------------// A Night In The Forest Chapter 2 A Night In The Forest I ran through the forest for a few minutes before I decided to come to a stop in a small clearing within the trees. It was relieving to find some space in such a forest, I have been hearing strange noises all through out this place. They sound as if they are creatures hungry for flesh. I then realized I was quite hungry. I took a donut out to snack on. It was the best thing I've ever tasted, then again I don't remember eating anything before now. I should probably find something more healthy if I'm going to be running through a large forest like this run, especially if things decide to chase me, running out of energy could be fatal. After the donut I still feel hungry, but I wanted to save the other few donuts i had for another time. I should try to find some food in this forest, maybe an animal. As a matter of fact hunting seems quite fun right now. 'Ponies don't eat meat, silly.' There it is again, the voice that was inside my head when we left the cave. The headache returned very ungracefully as if my brain just got knotted up. 'Who and where are you?' I thought back. The voice continued, completely ignoring my response. 'Also what in the hay are you doing running through Everfree? You could die out here.' This voice was really getting on my nerves, I responded anyway. 'I know I could die out here, I need to toughen up. And where would anypony let a clone into their house?' The voice stopped, of course. I'll deal with that pesky voice on another date, now I need to find some food. I treaded along deeper into the woods hearing many bizarre moans and growls, along with the sound of lumber smashing together. Is there a lumberjack out here? I stop to look around, and so does the sound. The forest just turned silent. Suspicious I slowly start trotting, I can hear the wooden noise again. I stop. Is something following me? Paranoid, I start galloping at full speed, despite my hunger, and the bag that is still sitting on my back. That's when I started hearing the heavy breathing and barking. I turn my head to look, to see three giant wolf looking creatures that look as if they are made out of trees. They seem like they could contest a bear in height standing on their hind legs. These things are huge! Their green glowing eyes make them even more intimidating. Out of fear I keep galloping as fast as I can, completely forgetting about my hunger problem. 'QUICK!!! Weave through tight spots in the trees! They wont be able to fit, they're too big to!' Gah, it's that troublesome voice again. But the fear and sudden headache didn't leave me much time to think about it, so I did as it had told me. I took a sharp turn to the left, causing them to skid and fumble a bit on their legs as they tried making the turn along with me. Wooden legs don't seem like a good tool for running. I continued doing short quick turns and after about the 6th time, I couldn't hear the terrifying breathing of the wolves. I turned my head first to make sure it was safe to stop and sure enough, it was, so it seemed. I slow down to a trot trying to grasp what had just happened. But before I could finish wrapping my mind around the situation, I heard galloping behind me. At that moment my mind completely stopped thinking and I instinctively lowered the front half of my body on the ground and shot my hind legs into the air. My hooves smacked the wolf creature right in the face with a very satisfying thud. I turned around to see a large pile of sticks and logs on the ground. I felt as if I was the ruler of the forest at that moment, chuckling to myself. I just couldn't help laughing at what just happened. After pulling myself together, I noticed through the leaves above me the sun was setting, I then decided to settle down thinking I can handle myself if anything tries to mess with me. Making a fire would probably be a smart thing to do at the moment. I gathered a hoof full or two of dry leaves off of the ground and surrounded them with sticks from the creature I slew after crumpling up the leaves. I placed this circle of leaves a few feet away from the large comfortable looking trunk of a tree so I could lean against that and rest I took a few more sticks and attempted the old fashion way of starting a fire by rotating the stick quickly in each direction. It was full blown night before long, and the motion of me trying to make a fire was the only thing keeping me from shivering from how cold it was. After a long while of spinning the stick back and forth and eating another donut, needed from all the energy I was spending aggressively making a fire, it finally came to life. Tired of creating the fire, I plop myself against the tree feeling the heat waves of the fire radiate on me. It felt good considering how cold it is out here at night. I thought now was a good time to try and reason with the voice in my head that I keep hearing. 'Hello?' I tried communicating with the voice I keep hearing in my head, I really want to know whats causing it. Also I would like to hear more survival tips. I slow to a stop against the most comfortable looking tree, I'm really worn out, and it's getting quite dark, at least..... I think it is. You can't really tell with all the leaves blocking the sky. 'If you're there, I'd like to thank you for saving my plot out there, but who are you?' No answer. "Ugh!" I grunt, bonking my head against the tree. "Why won't you answer me!" I scream as I keep smashing the back of my head against the bark. 'Because you aren't talking to me out loud silly.' Hearing the response, I jump as if I was shocked by a lightning bolt. "Oh, well why didn't you tell me this before!?" I yell out. 'You didn't ask out loud silly'. That caused me to face-hoof in frustration. "Why the hay do you keep calling me silly? It's annoying" 'Because that's what you are! Silly willy billy!' At that I do realize how silly I must look right now, I'm in the middle of the woods talking to my brain with nothing but a bag with a couple of donuts, knives, (that I just realized that if I thought to use those against those wooden creatures it would have done little to harm them considering... well... they're wood) and a photo album of my past life I never even lived. Thinking about that I take off the saddle bag that's been drenching my back in sweat, and take the album out to entertain myself for a bit, as an attempt to get the voice in my head off my mind. 'Ya know, I can tell you a few things about Pinkie Pie that may help you learn a bit more about yourself.' Sighing at the most likely nonexistent sound coming from my head. "Fine" I replied. 'Well if your going to be a bitch about it I guess I don't have to.' Realizing that this voice is in my brain, it can hear all of my thoughts, and it would be nice to know some things about my counter part to get some unasked questions answered. "Ok, Ok, but why can't you just tell me about myself" 'Well then who you are will be based on who you told who you are, which isn't really making you who you are, silly' I begin gritting my teeth at the word silly, wishing that this voice was coming out of another physical being so I could whack it in the face with my hoof. Then I heard a giggle come from the voice. "Ok just tell me about Pinkie Pie" Deciding to ease my stress by giving the name a sarcastic tone to the name. 'Alright well, I believe I should start with the rock farm. When she had written that diary page, she was very emotionally unstable, Thinking about running away and everything. But just before she had finished rotating the rocks to the east field, after which she said she would escape, a magical thing had happened. She had seen the effect of a sonic rainboom, displayed by non other than Rainbow Dash about a mile away. But we are not talking about that pony are we? Well the wave of color and awesomeness was enough to blast away all your sadness and cleared all of the gloomy clouds out of the sky. Along with making her hair go all crazy and poofy. This caused her to want to go and throw a par.... Bored with the story so far, starting to seem to take a lame happy ending, I had drifted off into a deep sleep before the strange voice could finish the story. I woke up to the sound of bottles clanging together. Still droopy, I had trouble opening my eyes to see where the noise was coming from. But it sounded close, and it was getting closer. Startled, thinking that it is another wacky monster trying to come eat me, my eyes popped open as I got into position to get my stuff together and run. But what I saw wasn't any wacky creature, but a zebra with a brown cloak on, carrying pots and bottles full of liquid hanging on ropes, attached to a stick that could be large enough to be a baseball bat. "Pinkie Pie! Fancy meeting you here in Everfree. Care to visit my hut to have some tea?" Author's Note I thought I just had to include Zecora as an important character in this story. I think her Voodoo crud goes nicely along with Pinkamena's psycho....ness, I guess? I don't know, let me know what you think. :derpytongue2: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/derpytongue2.png
