Luna’s Paradise

Dozzy the unicorn drags her tired hooves over to the window, where the last rays of sunlight spills into the room. She sits on her hind legs in front of it and gazes to the palace after a long day’s work in the lab. Just before the sun dips under the horizon a deep blue alicorn steps onto her balcony as she does every sun down. The princess’s horn glows of a bright blue as she raises the full moon. “Princess Luna,” hums Dozzy, “the most beautiful pony.” She watches her princess look over her night until the it’s completely dark and still before she heaves herself off her pillow then going to her red bed. She is deep in the warm covers before she turns the light off with her horn. Her purple eyes lazily fall closed and she falls into the night.

The alarm by her bed does not ring this day, it is the golden unicorn’s day off. With a yawn and a stretch, she rises, fully rested. It is a clear, and beautiful early morning of a day she has planned to use to explore Canterlot, well at least under it. Her bag that now hangs over her side, it has nothing more than a sandwich for lunch and two bits for the train.
The train ride is peaceful but short. She smiles as she steps a blue hoof off the small station and steps on to the soft field grass. The feel the sun’s hot rays warms her golden coat. Dozzy trots over to the pond a small while away. She discovers the water falls below Canterlot. Such beauty! Birds sing as they dance in the sky, the purple and yellow flowers sway in the soft breeze and the mist of the crystal clear falls tickle her nose. A perfect place for a swim, she decides as she takes her bag off and rests it by the water’s edge.

Dozzy places a hoof to the water to test its temperature, it’s warm. She backs up before running at the water and jumping into it with a bright smile, getting extra air from the magic of her horn. Water sparkles the blue sky as water of the splash is flown into the freash air and rings of ripples disturb the stillness of the liquid. On her back, the unicorn floats aimlessly in the pond letting the small current from the falls move her. She flips over and paddles to a connecting pond. The sun is at the last of its peak, in the center of the cloudless sky, and begins its way downwards.

Bubbles burst at the surface of the pond as the unicorn dives for fun. Just the top of her mane, eyes and nose appear above the water as she playfully stalks the next pond. She stops in her tracks. There is another pony swimming there! The pony is too far to tell who it is, but when Dozzy squints her purple eyes and finds this dark blue pony is baring a horn, a fellow unicorn. She slowly stalks the pony, remaining her nose just above the surface. Who is it?

She isn’t too far from the unicorn as it takes to the air on its two large wings. Dozzy is puzzled as it flies through the sky, leaving a trail of mist as the air dries her blue body. An alicorn? The pony lands elegantly on the water’s surface, barly making one small ripple to wave across the surface of the cyristal liquid. Dozzy chases after it. Could it be? Her mind races. The alicorn seems to want to play chase as it quickly swims away once Dozzy gets close. The golden unicorn stops stalking it and follows at full speed. Something is strange. The ponies chase each other for some time, but Dozzem the unicorn is not angered by this chase. It is fun but the question still burns in her mind. Could it really be?

The dark blue alicorn finally stops and lets out a laugh that is more like music. “My pony, why do you follow me?” She playfully hums as she turns to face the pony. Dozzy swims closer the alicorn but stops as her heart flutters. “Speak you name, unicorn.” She gently orders.

“Princess Lu… Luna?” She mumbles in utter unbelivement. Luna of all ponies! The goddess of the night is floating before her without her royal ornaments of her crown, shoes and chest piece. The mystical hair lies mostly still and wet on one side of her face’s perfection. Dozzy is loss of words from her beauty and finally seeing Luna this close. All those days gazing from the window are now far behind as she looks to her princess with large eyes.

“That cannot be your name, unicorn! That is mine!” Luna laughs, breaking the unicorn’s thoughts.

“Oh, excuse me, Princess.” Dozzem tries to show her a watery bow. “My name is Dozzem.” She manages to say without mumbling. “I work at the Canterlot labitorey. Um, I am sorry for spoiling your swim. I um, I will leave you to your peace.” She begins to mumble. Luna spends most her power to bring Dozzy and all the other ponies her beautiful night every sun down. She needs some relaxing. “Pardon me princess.” The golden unicorn turns to leave. She slowly swims away, too shy to talk to the alicorn she has been watching from affair ever since she has returned from the moon. The farther in the water she travel, the more distance is made between her and her goddess but she isn’t able to swim very far.

“I enjoy you, Dozzem. Why do you shy from me?” The moon goddess gently lands in front of the surprised and now blushing unicorn. Her heart leaps all over as the blue mare gives her a bright smile. “Have I wronged you?”

“No! Not at all, my princess!” She stumbles over her own words. “I just though you need some space and I’m sorry princess, I...” Dozzem begins to ramble. Oh, Celestia, she is making a fool of herself! “I should go?”

Luna’s laughter interrupts her. “My friend, why are you acting as if the cat has gotten your tongue? Does this pony admire me so?” The alicorn teases. Dozzy is too embarrassed to respond and looks into the water to find her own blushing refection. “Follow, Dozzem. I want to show you my secret.” Luna slowly swims towards the waterfalls. Dozzy’s mind gets all fuzzy. What secret? It could be anything. She obeys her princess by following close behind her majestic flank.

The lunar mare takes to the blue sky; her elegant wings shade the water below. She soars into the side of the falls, letting just the tip of her wing in the curtain of liquid. The alicorn flies close to the other mare’s head before she gracefully disappears behind the sheet of liquid.

On the other side of the water, Dozzy finds herself in awe. A small little patch of pure beauty is hidden from the rest of the world here. Small slits of Celestia’s warm sunshine pours into the cave from between the stones above, warming the soft grass below her hooves. A patch of pink flowers are clustered in the center of the grass and mushrooms hug the walls of this secret cave. It smells of sweet nectar, and the only sound is the soft rush of the only exit, the stunning waterfall behind her. This place is really stunning but the source of real beauty lies in the center of this paradise. Her wet mane gently flows onto the warm grass and her tail lazily covers the pink flowers. The mare’s midnight wings rest on the ground, drying in a sliver of sunshine. Her fur shines in the light. Luna’s eyes sparkle as they gaze into the unicorn’s eyes and tickle her heart.

“Come, lay with me.” Luna whispers. Dozzem trots over to her, floating inches above the grass. She lies close to her princess and watches her to see how she will react. To her surprise, she moves closer. “You are a charming mare.” The moon goddess confesses. “You will always be welcomed here, in my paradise. Now please, come closer.”

She hesitates. Any closer and they would touch. Luna smiles at her shyness and takes matter in her own hooves. Princess Luna pulls Dozzy onto herself and wraps her legs around her waist in an embrace. Dozzy is startled. Her heart skips. Luna giggles. “Relax my pony.” She whispers and Dozzem does. She melts into the princess as she gently plays with her mane. Luna hums a sweet lullaby as Dozzy closer her eyes and tries to soak up every moment. This is so unbelievable. It’s as if this is a dream, if it is don’t wake me, she thinks as she hums along with Luna.
The unicorn opens her eyes to find herself staring streaight into the princess’s. An unexpected spark shocks between them, and both of the ponies feel it. Dozzem’s thoughts flow out of her mouth. “I am yours, Princess.” She whispers. “Forever.” The princess of the night stops gently petting her and places a royal hoof on her check.

“I know.” She whispers back. Luna leans in closer, and so does Dozzy. Their lips meet and the shock between them becomes a wild fire. Lips kiss, bodies touch, and hearts take flight. It is only the two of them, in their paradise, holding one another. They become one for a short time. Dozzy breaks away, out of breath. “Princess,” She whispers into her ear, “I, I…” Dozzy shies away from telling Luna the feelings she has for her.

“Shh,” Luna hushes. They both smile and they hold each other close as the day slips away. They lie down on the soft grass and just enjoy each other’s company without a spoken word. The lunar mare picks a flower with her mouth and gracefully places it behind the other mare’s golden ear. They both smile and Dozzy hugs the alicorn tightly. Luna tips over and Dozzy lies on top of her. Their lips meet again, Luna tastes so sweet. The lunar mare looks deep into the unicorn’s eyes before cuddling closely to her.
Dozzy’s head rest on her beloved princess. Her eyes slowly close but a bright smile remains on her face and a pink flower rests behind her ear.

Dozzem wakes up. She is startled and tears swell in her purple eyes. She is back home, in her own bed! “Was it all a dream?” She sobs. It felt so real. The blankets are wrapped tightly around the unicorn as she tosses and turns. Her bag by the side of her bed is untouched and her clock does not ring. It was all just a dream!

She wipes the tears from her eyes and stands. Dozzy runs a hoof through her blue mane but something falls to the floor that was once behind her ear. The pink flower Luna has given her lays on the floor.

Author's Note

This is my first ever story I am sharing with anypony. I am a huge fan of Princess Luna! This story takes place after the Lunar Eclipse episode. Dozzem Poon Coon (Dozzy) is my humble, a little shy and smart OC that work in a lab that is right next to the Canterlot Palace. Every sense Luna has returned from the moon this golden unicorn has been watching her from afar. She adores her princess.
