It was getting very late and Twilight Sparkle's little assistant, Spike, was snoring the night away. Twilight was behind on her studies that she planned for her weekend, which seemed to tower over her, while looking over her "least used books" shelf to see if she misplaced one of her books. She comes across a very mysterious book, it was old yet not dusty at all, as if somepony just put it there, it was leather bound and the book seemed to be lightly used, almost new. The book of forbidden myths it read, Twilight got curious about this book, she's never seen the book, then on second thought she figured its has always been there since she rarely looks at the "least used books" shelf. She began to read the first myth it was called "the darkness". There was a farming family of six and they where very happy, But something odd was living about the family, like a ghost, hovering over like a cloud. The family didn't know this, but they were being fed off of. Their crops started to whither due to unnatural weather and all their neighborly ponies seemed to have disappeared because of this. The reason for this is because the darkness usually will only effect pony's lives indirectly, twilight continued reading, the darkness feeds on sadness and death, only during rare occasions will the darkne-.
Twilight stopped reading, the window had been opened by the powerful wind of the night, she walks up to close the window the floor board creaked under each step she took, hoof by hoof she slowly walked up to the window and reaches for the window, but she feels something, like if somepony was breathing down her neck, she hears faint whispers, whispers of evil it seemed, she turns around, horn glowing, ready to strike the intruder, nothing. Twilight closes the window and continues reading,
-darkness will posses a pony, only if it cannot feed it will have to take matters into their own hands.
Twilight closes the book and looks up at the clock. Wow, twilight thought, it's one-thirty already? did I really read for that long? she shrugged, well some sleep is better then none.
"Good night spike" she whispered, spike responded in his own way, he rolled over, mumbled something about rubies and rarity and continued sleeping.
Twilight had a very restless night, she was dreaming as usual, she was hanging with her best friends and everything was a-ok, but things got scary real fast, her friends slowly faded away, turned into things, demonic things. The things started to chase her, as she runs away she hears her friends yelling her name in panic, she ran towards her friends voices but the things kept chasing her, she was trapped, cornered, a goner, she still heard her friends pleading her name for help, the things seemed to taunt her for a while, then a whip of shadow was whipped at her, Twilight!, that's when she woke.
