//-------------------------------------------------------// Entering The Void -by TheTraxicEnd- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Remembrance //-------------------------------------------------------// Remembrance Entering the Void - Remembrance by: TheTraxicEnd The void is a place, dominated by complete nothingness. The nothingness travels through its occupants and embraces them in melancholy. The void also makes them suffer by the lack of: color, necessities, and entertainment. Who would be an occupant of this cruel dimension? The very occupant we speak of is I. We all know, I was placed here by a certain ruler, who wanted to keep its subjects free from the unknown horrors this place conveys. Did I feel honored to have this heavy responsibility? Heck no. In fact, I felt this was a mistake and I was caught in a massive loop of errors caused by many others. As I stated before, I am suffering from the lack of color, necessities, and entertainment. This void has none of that to offer. The only thing I have for entertainment is the random piece of paper which duplicates itself for no reason. Sometimes, I take the paper and write about random things I experience while utilizing my gift. As a guardian of the void, necessities aren't necessary, however, I would like to be able to eat like a normal pony once again. Lastly, there isn't any presence of color. The only color available is I, the pony who is suffering from its absence. I, the pony of the void, am lacking of the three qualities stated above, however, there is a fourth quality which has deemed an enemy  since the beginning of this nightmare. This quality is loneliness. Loneliness has affected me to the point of being unable to carry out my objective. I cannot shake this feeling away because it returns back to me. I think this is why I have my gift: the gift of having the quality time with the mare of my dreams. I sometimes believe she isn't real, but I shake this idea off quickly. She has to be real, otherwise I wouldn't be receiving these dreams. With this in mind, The gift has sparked new questions every time I utilize it. How old am I? When was I sent here? When will I ever return? These are the most common questions I've asked myself. You see in this accursed void, time cannot harm oneself;  for it doesn't exist. The void takes time and extinguishes it permanently. As a result, I do not know my true age nor my true arrival date. It seems I have to dig into my own memories and search for it. The only way to achieve this task is by sleeping. Time to use the gift I've discovered since I became the guardian... As I thought of this, I drifted off; thinking of the times I had shared before my imprisonment... It was a sunny day out in Canterlot. Many ponies are out and about, enjoying the day as if it was their last. A young colt; who had a white mane, a light blue coat, and a white tail; stood out in front of the enormous gathering. He was with Princess Celestia, the solar ruler of Equestria. Many gazed at the colt with cold stares, while others smiled and waved at him. The colt responded to the stares by hiding behind Celestia, as if she was a shield. Celestia saw this and spread her wing out to protect the colt. He looked up to see her with a concerned look painted on her face. He started to feel ashamed of having the Princess act like his mother, but he had nowhere to turn. He wanted the stares to disappear... Celestia noticed the colt's disposition and decided to invade the young colt's thoughts. When she completed this, she frowned upon the ponies who have harmed the well-being of her subject. Using her feelings of compassion and care, she looked down and nuzzled the little colt. The colt looked up and gazed at her, tears streaming down his cheeks. She noticed this and got down to his level. She then whispered in his ear, "I know your problems and I'm willing to help you, but you're going to have to sacrifice this life for another." The colt nodded furiously and responded, "I want them to stop!" The colt looked around to see the space around him, free and quiet. He noticed the crowd had been silenced, the world he once knew was escaping in a wormhole, and the only other pony with him was Celestia. Together, they floated in the space of complete nothingness. He looked up at Celestia and started to tear up again. Celestia looks down seeing his tears forming. To comfort the colt, she says in a motherly tone, "My little gentlecolt, you're now free from the cold stares. No pony other than you and I are allowed to enter this dimension. I want to let you know about this place." The colt continued his exploration of the place, using his eyes as a tool to search farther into the depths of the unknown. He then turned his gaze back to the Solar Princess. She continued, "This place is known as the Void, here you will investigate the unknown depths of this universe until you see the solution form. There will be no more cold stares to harm you my little colt. I will arrive here once you need me, but you need to contact me by using this." She floated over a cloud to him. The cloud, however, wasn't one for weather situations. This cloud was made of chocolate. On the side of the cloud was a inscription and it read: The Gift of Dreams May You Truly Find Peace in this Void The colt looked at the cloud again, observing it with intense concentration. The young colt then embraced the cloud and ate it, absorbing all of its nutrients. When Celestia saw this, she smiled; knowing her gift was happily accepted. She knelt down to the colt and gently whispered, "You have my gift now, residing in your body. Once it reaches your heart, you will feel energized, but unable to produce a single bit of thought." The young colt looked up to her with a puzzled look on his face. Nervous as any young colt would be, he musters, "Why wouldn't I be able to think?" Celestia looks down before bringing him to her gaze. She replies, "You are the Guardian of the Void, my young colt. Thinking is secondary objective, however, your main goal is to seal your mind from the rest of existence." The young colt nodded but started to tear up. He realized that his role in the void would take away the friendships he built back on Equestria. Seeing this, Celestia embraced him, spreading her wing around him. Feeling comforted, the colt sighed and hugged the Celestial goddess. The warmth of her body against his made him feel stronger, more capable of completing his difficult task. She smiled when the colt hugged her. Her smile suddenly faded when she realized her time was up and she had to return to the royal palace. She said in a saddened tone, "My colt, you're now two important pieces of the Void. You guard it, and you're the bearer of its dreams. The gift relates to the title of dreams. I will hear from Luna when she tells me how unique your dreams are. Also, I want to make sure you will survive, so I decided to incorporate your dreams as the center of your diet." The colt nodded and motioned for her to continue. She gulped and then announced, "I wanted to let you know; I always wanted to be a mother and well...thanks for giving me the chance to be yours, my wonderful colt. I shall see you again soon." The colt slowly nodded and then turned away, unable to speak to her. He was being left alone in a place where no other ponies will enter. Only she can break the seal, but right now; he wanted to stay here. He loved the thought of floating in space, feeling like he was an astronaut. His train of thought was shattered when he heard her leave in a flash. He was now fully alone, forever in his new life of nothingness. The colt began to cry and realized he would never see the light of day once again. He could only dream of the landscapes he experienced. As he continued to cry, he heard a sound, familiar to his past life. It was a filly, whose voice was music to his ears. He started to sway back and forth to it; admiring the tranquility of the sounds. His peaceful state was interrupted by the filly screaming, "WAKE UP! HELP ME! WAKE UP MY COLT, I NEED YOU!" I woke up from my dream in cold sweat. Whoa...Was that a dream of a flashback? I've never encountered this before. I think this is what Celestia meant when she said, "I shall see you again soon." If this isn't what she meant, then I have no idea. It felt so real, as if I was truly feeling her presence. Must be the works of Princess Luna. I shrugged the thoughts off and then continued to work at my objective. I need to get this done, so I can see her once again... //-------------------------------------------------------// Decisions //-------------------------------------------------------// Decisions **Entering The Void - Decisions By: TheTraxicEnd** Decisions. Something I have never acquired during my time here in this void. The only decisions I can make are equal to the miniscule tasks of a foal or a full grown pony would undertake. Waking up and taking care of business, and figuring out what to do while I float aimlessly in this abyss are my only decisions I can make. Everything else is either forced upon me or it's my duty to do such an act. Guarding this damned void like a hawk is my only true duty to accomplish. Every day! It's the same routine! Enough with my ranting, I remember when I was able to make my own decisions. These decisions led to the reasons of my fear of other ponies. It was a beautiful day and I remember this one particular filly... The young guardian colt was walking through a large corridor filled with paintings of the two majestic rulers of the land. He was intrigued by how many artists worked on projects for the princesses. The colt evaluated the features of each painting with intense concentration. The color, the pose, the unity, and the variety; all of these were what the colt viewed each painting as. He became so interested in the paintings that he began to lose himself in them. He felt as if he was truly part of the image; able to control his own pose with his own colors. He was snapped out of his art-induced trance by the clambering of hooves approaching his immediate location. Reacting to this as a threat, the colt hid behind one of the statues in the hallway. His previous assumption was erased when he heard the sound of Celestia shouting his name. Feeling safe once again, he rushed towards the sound of her voice. Celestia then spots him and meets him half way. They embrace in a gentle, uplifting hug. She says, "I was worried about you my colt. Your safety is always on my mind; just like the rest of my subjects, however, you are family!" She giggled at the last few words of her sentence. The young colt gazed up and hugged her tighter. Celestia felt his emotions pouring out and venting into the embrace. She decided to give him a 'decision'. To emphasize on this, she ended the embrace and announced, "My colt, I feel you need to find other ponies to befriend. They will show you compassion, care, and love for who you are and not your relations to me. Go my colt, make a decision." The colt looked up and then nodded vigorously. He proceeded to carry out his objective by leaving castle grounds. As he did this, the colt wondered why Celestia wanted him to do this. He already had a couple friends in the castle. Solar Flare was one of his best friends. Together, the two would always pull pranks on Princess Luna because she was the easiest to prank. The colt still wondered why she told him to leave...Did she not want him around anymore? The colt quickly shoved the vile thought of him being thrown out as a outcast. He decided to complete his objective by going to the Royal Canterlot Public Park. The park was definitely royal and majestic as its stated. The park was a solid green filled with every sort of safe playground attraction you could find: swings, racetrack, and a large skyscraper slide. It also had many trees to climb on and a pathway for those who wanted to walk the trail. When he entered the gates of the park, he saw a young filly; singing a song to those who were present. - I once was lost... but now I'm found... was blind, but now... I see! - Her voice trembled at the last two lines; chilling every aching bone in the colts body. Her voice was music to his ears, however; others thought she was a terrible singer; throwing insults at her. The colt decided this was needed to be stopped, so he stepped in to defend her honor... "YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES! THIS FILLY SANG HER HEART FOR ALL TO HEAR AND YOU STOMP HER FOR THIS? I SHOULD GET CELESTIA TO CAST YOU ALL TO THE DUNGEONS!" the colt shouted in his royal canterlot voice. The crowd that was gathered was immediately shell-shocked from the colt. Only royalty was able to possess the 'voice of a thousand earthquakes'. The filly on the other hand was surprised she was being defended by royalty. Most of the crowd had dissipated except three colts who were not flustered by the colt's voice. The three announced, "Why are you defending such a poor excuse of a filly? She is a delinquent!" one of the colts said. "Yeah what he said," the other two said in unison. The anger flared inside the young colt as he turned to face his adversaries. He said a loud voice of defiance, "You inconsiderate fools! This filly here is talented, well-mannered, and cares about her singing to the point where she will one day become famous. You vile ponies on the other hoof are poor, unaccomplished, self-centered, losers who bully others to stroke your own egos. It's funny and ironic that you three probably had to cheat through foals care!" The bullies were unable to even comprehend what he said. After a few seconds, they realized what he truly meant and rushed towards him. Little did they know, a guardian always prepares himself. Seeing this as an opportunity, the colt magically pulled out his dual scimitars and was in a defensive stance. The bullies stopped their charge and redirected to a nearby tree line. The colt saw this and shouted, "What's the matter, can't put your words into action? You heathens are scaredy flanks!" The colt returned his gaze back to the filly, who was tearing up at the site of him. She yelped as she realized he was looking at her. She turned away from his gaze and was blushing furiously. The colt responded in a way no pony else who was royalty would even consider. He said in a soothing voice, "Look at me please..." She looked up at him. "Are you alright?" She nodded very slowly and then looked at the ground again. She suddenly gasped when she felt the colt hug her tightly. As the colt hugged her, he felt her pain, sadness, and grievances. It was almost like a aura, but it never seemed to truly show itself. As the embrace ended, the filly glared at the colt and said, "T-than-nk you..." The colt waved his hoof and said, "No problem. What is your name?" The filly stuttered, "My na-aame is-s Green Sky." "That's a beautiful name," the colt replied. Green Sky blushed furiously at his compliment. The colt continued, "I would tell you my name, but I've never truly had one," the young colt said and looked down at the cold earth. The filly saw this and with concern she said, "I know this may be too personal but why?" The colt stammered, "I - I don't know. My n-new parent nicknamed me and I'm now her son." "May I ask who your new parent is?" The filly asked. "Promise me you won't think of me any different?" Green Sky nuzzled the colt and said, "I promise." He gulped and mustered, "Princess Celestia." Green Sky gasped at this and said, "Your new parent is Princess Celestia?!" "Is it a bad thing?" The colt asked; confused at her excitement. "Not at all! No wonder you're so strong, kind, and..." She paused and then said, "cute." Green Sky blushed at this, almost resembling the color of a tomato. The colt blushed at her kind words and then nuzzled her with affection. Green Sky gasped at the sudden contact and then sighed as she returned with a nuzzle. They stayed in an comfortable embrace before she finally asked, "What's your nickname?" "Well it's ironic to this situation..." "How ironic is it?" Green Sky asked. "Think of the most ironic thing and then try to think of something that could top it. That would be how 'ironic' my nickname is." Green Sky let his words sink in and started to put on her best thinking face ever. As the colt saw her, he couldn't help but chuckle at the pout-like face she was making. After a minute passed, Green Sky gasped and understood how ironic it could be. She then said, "Well its probably very ironic," She giggled and then hugged him. The colt sighed as he fell into her embrace. They stayed like this for a few minutes, watching ponies pass and time fly by them. The colt then looked over at the filly and said, "My name is Guardian." The filly smiled at him and gave him a peck on the cheek. Guardian noticed this and hugged her tightly. She sighed and said in a calm tone, "You're my guardian..." Again are you serious? I think this is the mare that I've been dreaming of! This is great! I know her name now! Mental Note: Green Sky is her name. I should ask Princess Celestia to see if I could meet her; she said my time was soon up in the void right? I will see you soon my Green Sky...I will.
