Twilight walked along the path in Ponyville, humming her favorite somg to herself. Suddenly she remembered that Celestia was coming to Ponyville for the Summer Sun celebration.
“Oh my, I almost forgot! I better get ready! Spike?”
She waited for the patter of tiny dragon feet stamping on the sidewalk, but no response.
“SPIKE?”
Nothing, not even chattering from ponies.
She decided to go to her library, in case, unlikely, Spike was doing his chores.
“Spike, are you in here?”
No answer, although there was a dripping sound.
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
“What is that? Spike, are you doing an experiment?”
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
“Spike, answer me!”
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
She went upstairs to Spike's bedroom and gasped sharply, her eyes filling with tears.
She looked up at the image of Spike hanging from a rotten rope, his organs hanging out of his stomach.
His throat was slit, blood pouring out.
The library started to tip over, books falling out of the shelves, the ladder falling on her.
Everything went black.
Blood leaked from the ceiling and walls, creating a pool of red on the library floor.
There was writing in blood on the walls, creating an illegible but terrorizing sentence.
“Celestia waz here~!”
