She had just finished her morning routine and was about to head home to rest for a little while, afterall, she needed a rest. As she entered her cloud mansion, she got the strangest feeling. Not a good feeling, something bad. Assuming it was probably because she was hungry, she thought nothing of it and made herself a sandwich. Afterwards, she decided to take a well-needed nap. A few hours later, she woke up from her nap with the same feeling as earlier. "Strange," she thought, "it's as if my body is warning me about something. Maybe I should go over to Fluttershy's. She's always helpful when I'm in a bad mood..." So Rainbow Dash set off for Fluttershy's house. After flying for a while, she finally arrived at the little cottage Fluttershy called home. She knocked on the door, and there was no answer. She knocked a little louder. "Fluttershy? You in there?" She finally decided to walk inside and check things out. As soon as she entered, she could already tell there was something horribly wrong. The house was ransacked. All the dishes were scattered around the kitchen, the cusions on the couches had been torn open, and there were bird houses and bird feathers all over the floor. "FLUTTERSHY?!" yelled Rainbow, hoping desperately for a response from her friend. Alas, there was no response. Rainbow Dash was getting more and more worried by the minute. She decided to go get the others so they could help her search the cottage for any clues as to where Fluttershy might be. After gathering up the others, they returned to the cottage to look around. They all gasped at what a mess the place was. "Like I said," replied Rainbow, "something's terribly wrong. Fluttershy would never let her home get this messy!" "Hey! Ov'r here y'all!" yelled Applejack, "I think I found somethin'!" It was a note that was taped to the back of one of the trees around Fluttershy's cottage. It said: "Dear Ponies, I have taken your friend with me. Meet me at the edge of Cloudsdale at 8:00 PM for... 'negotiations'... Yours Truly, Night Lord" "N-Night Lord?!" exclaimed Twilight, "I thought he was killed years ago by Celestia herself after he tried to overthrow her and take over Equestria!" Rainbow Dash looked around, "I guess I'm going to have to be in Cloudsdale soon." Twilight looked at Rainbow Dash, "Rainbow, we're coming with you." "Yeah," replied the other ponies in unison. Rainbow replied, "Only pegasus ponies can walk in Cloudsdale. You'd fall straight through!" "Ahem," said Twilight, pointing at her horn, "remember, I have a spell that allows Earth ponies to walk on clouds." "Oh yeah," said Rainbow, "I forgot about that. Will everyone be ready by 8:00?" "Certainly," replied the others. A few hours later, they were all standing at the designated meeting point. "ALRIGHT NIGHT LORD!" yelled Rainbow Dash, "WE'RE HERE! NOW GIVE US OUR FRIEND BACK!" A large, black and red Alicorn stepped out, with Fluttershy next to him. "Fluttershy!" exclaimed Rainbow. She went to embrace her in a hug, but Night Lord put his hoof in front of Rainbow Dash, and said, "I haven't told you my requirements for this deal. What will you do for me in order to get your friend back?" "How about we go with the 'I won't tell Celestia that you're here if you give us back our friend and you agree to leave Ponyville alone from now on?!" said Rainbow Dash, whose frustration was clear in her voice. "Hmmmm... deal." said Night Lord. He handed Fluttershy over to the others. Just as he was about to leave, he turned around and fired a strong killing spell at the group. Seeing this and knowing she had to defend her friends, Fluttershy jumped forward and took the full blow of the spell. The force knocked her off the edge of Cloudsdale. "FLUTTERSHY!!" screeched Rainbow Dash as she watched her friend plumment to the ground. She darted down after her with supersonic speeds. She caught Fluttershy and flew back to Cloudsdale. "Can you do anything Twilight?" asked Rainbow. Twilight shook her head sadly. "This is a magic that is too powerfull to be reversed." Rainbow Dash's eyes swelled with tears, "So... she... she's gone?" Twilight nodded, her eyes filled with tears as well. The next day, a funeral was held at the Town Hall. Princess Celestia would be doing the ceremony "Fluttershy was a great, kind, generous, loving, and wonderful pony," said Celestia, "and she still lives on in our hearts." The six sat in the front row, tears streaming down their faces. Their best friend... gone... forever. Rainbow Dash burried her face into her hooves. "I miss her so much!" she sobbed. When the ceremony ended, Rainbow couldn't handle the sight of Fluttershy being lowered into a grave. So she flew off in tears. Rainbow sat alone in her mansion in the clouds. She heard a noise from the kitchen. She got up to investigate. When she entered the kitchen, her emotions cycled through sadness, anger, and hatred. It was him, Night Lord, the one who killed her best friend. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOME?!" cried Rainbow. "I was a little hungry, so i decided to stop by and have a snack." said the Alicorn. "YOU KILLED MY BEST FRIEND!" "SHE wasn't the one I was aiming for!" announced Night Lord, "I was aiming for YOU! Fluttershy threw herself in front of you! So, I guess the real reason I've come is so I can finish what I started." He prepared to perform the killing spell when he realized that Rainbow Dash was no where to be seen. "Come out, come out wherever you are," he said, "you can't hide forever Rainbow Dash." Rainbow suddenly dropped from the ceiling onto Night Lord's back. "YOU'RE RIGHT! BUT YOU'RE GOING TO WISH YOU COULD!" Night Lord tried to blast Rainbow off of his back. But she dodged everything, then with one powerfull pull, she broke his horn in half. "AGGGHHHHHH!!!!!" Night Lord wailed in pain. He tried to get away, but Rainbow grabbed onto one of his wings and tore it clean off. Blood sprayed onto her face as the Alicorn tried to squirm away. She wasn't going to let that happen. She grabbed a butcher knife and cut off his remaining wing. "ARGHH!!! PLEASE STOP!!" he wailed. "NO!" yelled Rainbow, "you killed Fluttershy, so now I'm going to kill YOU! An eye for an eye, you know?" She jabbed the knife into his right shoulder. He wailed in pain desperately trying to get away. She removed the knife from his shoulders and thrusted it into his knee caps. His cries became moans of agony as he quickly lost blood. Rainbow was almost done. There were three more things to do before ending his pathetic excuse. Those things were: his right and left eye, and his heart. She grabbed another knife, a smaller one this time. She jabbed it into his right eye, pulled it out, and did the same to his left eye. "Time for the grand finale," said Rainbow Dash with an evil grin. She cut open the area to his heart. She slowly cut each piece that connected the heart to the rest of the body one by one. Then she ripped his heart out and watched as the life faded from his body. "Fluttershy..." said Rainbow with a low tone, "you have been avenged." THE END Author's Note This is my second fanfic.
