There had to be at least 300 people in hear, great someones bound to cheat in here I thought to my self as I began to walk to my "designated" seat somewhere of to the rear left corner. About 15 feet from my desk I felt something smack against the back of my neck, I turned around and saw a paper hornet lying on the ground, a sharp staple protruding out of the front. I felt the back of my neck and saw crimson spots on my fingers, as if by reflex I shot back a BB with a rubber band I usually carried in my pocket, the shot was perfect, it hit in right in-between his eyes causing a welt to form on his nose. Serves you right buddy; I thought, turning around to start walking again. Just then I heard a loud screech as the guy, whoever he was, hopped over the desk and tackling me to the floor. We both landed with a thud on the hard tile floor, he put his hands around my throat and started to bash my head against the floor. By that time, one of the security guards came running across the room, he wouldn't get here quick enough though. Once again my reflexes kicked in causing my to curl my feet up to his stomach and kicking with all the might my shocked body could muster. His shocked face brought me both satisfaction and more adrenaline. Soon we were both back on our feet, then he came charging at me, despite his intimidating size and buff I could tell he was a clumsy one. With a simple sidestep and a lift of the leg his thoughts of victory were turned to poop as we went sailing to the ground, completely out of the fight. By that time whad'ya know they're here now, but to my surprise they went for me too, tackling me. "WHOA!" I said, the wind almost knocked out of me. "I didn't start this, he flicked a paper hornet at me and I flicked a BB back at him, then he tackled me." "Ah don't give a hoot what happened, but ya'll best get yo booty to that there seat and sit down"; the security guard said, with a southern/New York mixed accent, ya, like that's normal. I got up and stumbled over to my seat and sat down. When I looked back I saw them picking up the man to begin taking him out of the building, he let out a low moan and cooperatively walked away. What a way to start of mid-terms; I thought, trying to clear out my head. Within less than 10 minutes the crowd had been silenced of their murmuring and the test supervisors ban passing out the tests. That little meditating session I had didn't work at all, cause I still had a very large migraine, and taking a 300 question test didn't help either. Question after question, graph after graph, on question 210 I was starting to get a twitch in my eye. So this is what insanity feels like, overwhelming fatigue, blasting migraine. But yet, they put people in straitjackets and throw them in spongy rooms for this, I WOULD LIKE THAT!  Finally, I get to question 300, and get stumped. Absolutely typical. The question: Who was the 4th chief justice of the supreme court? My mind goes through all of the imaginary file cabinets of study notes crammed in my brain trying to find the right answers, and these questions aren't multiple choice so I can't guess. Suddenly, an ancient memory popped into my head, and 8th grade study guide without the exact question on it. John Marshall, the man's been dead for at least 250 years. But yet, even though I've spent 3 weeks studying for this exam, it took an 8th grade question to stump me. I wonder if my IQ has really grown since then? I quickly dismissed the thought, no way, I'm smarter than I've ever been!  I put down my steaming pencil and cracked my fingers, I had a clearly imprinted red mark on my fingers where the irritating wood of the pencil dug in. Looking around, about 100 people were still here, looking up at the clock, the analog hands read clearly to the room 9:15pm. I had begun my test at 6:30, that meant I had been in there for three hours and forty-five minutes. Thank Celestia for spring break! I thought. For all non-bronies who don't know, Princess Celestia is one of four rulers of Equestria, the world of MLP:FIM. I then drowsily got up from my desk and gave my 50 page test booklet to the supervisor, then went to the possession desk and got my backpack and phone back. When I looked at it I had a text from devil. "How was it?" He texted, "Got in a fight, answered 300 q's and sat there with boredom for 4 hours, bottom line, you got a long night." I texted back, in about 30 minutes all freshmen with last names between N-Z would be required to report for their tests. I got a text back, "Sounds fun, probably won't be home till late ttyl." "K, bye." I texted back, walking out the door. The cold 9 o'clock air was bitter, knocking the energy right out of me. I practically had to drag myself 6 blocks back to my dorm building, then drag myself into the elevator. Pushing the 5th floor button was like shooting my hand with a nail gun. Within a couple more minutes I was in my room, it was dark save for Devin's desk light. I threw my clothes off leaving myself only in underwear and hopped into bed. No relaxing music was required for within seconds I drifted off into a deep and very much needed sleep. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Collage Life //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Collage Life      Rain… It really lets loose on days like today, Luckily I'm safe from the torrent inside of Starbucks. It me seep into daydreams of memory, back to high school, getting through with average grades, an extremely low popularity level but some of the best friends a person could ask for. Now however, I guess you could say I'm living the good life here at the University Of Michigan. My roommate is Devin Seivertson, we've been friends since the first day of 7th grade. Now we are freshman at college and Devin and I are both 19 years old. Suddenly, an alarm on my phone breaks my from my trance. It's an alarm, my mid-terms are in 20 minutes. I've been studying for 3 weeks, I just hope I'm ready! I finish my coffee, put my laptop away and head out the door. The rain has stopped as the weatherman had predicted, though the clouds still covered up the sun. The February air was cold against my face, not even the hood of my jacket could protect against the penetrating crispy air. The building where I take the test is 2 blocks away from Starbucks so the walk will not take very long. Along the way I see 1 or 2 people from my high school, not that I care. When Devin and I graduated we both broke our social ties save for the 2 of us and our very close friends. When I arrive at the testing building I am forced to scan my I.D. card and sign a document swearing that I won't cheat. Ha. The secretary gave me a look of suspicion, like I'M gonna be the one to cheat compared to some of the people I used to know. After getting through the crappy security measures I proceed to the next stop, the possession desk. You are forced to give them all of your carry-on possessions, no electronic devices are allowed inside. After that, I finally proceed to the testing room.
