Chapter 3

Previous Chapter

After Love Heart left, Lemon decided to get himself washed before starting on dinner. He trotted upstairs into the bathroom and started a shower; he stepped in and began washing his mane.

“Am I doing the right thing? Should I really be in a relationship with the one I could call my sister? What if things don’t work out? It could ruin everything we have together.”

He finished washing up and climbed out of the shower. He dried himself off and trotted downstairs to clean up the house.

The house wasn’t really dirty, it was a bit cluttered though, papers and books on alchemy were scattered across the floor, all his mail he didn’t bother to open was piled up on his chair, half empty coffee cups were everywhere you looked, though you couldn’t really see much since the curtains were shut and his desk lamp was off. That was the only light he had for days, sitting down and studying alchemy, he had no time to get out and do anything else.

“Well, I guess if I want a chance at making this work, I have to start here.”

He started by bringing all his alchemy research back down to the basement, he knew he would have to study it more if he planed to use it to bring Shadow back. He knew that what he was doing was dangerous, but Shadow was his everything, he wasn’t just a brother, and Shadow was like another him, an extension of Lemon himself.

He climbed back up stairs and into his living room, most of the clutter was gone since most of his living room was nothing but alchemy books and notes, but he wanted the whole room cleaned, He didn’t want to mess thing up tonight.

Love Heart trotted back to her home just outside of town to get ready for her date with Lemon, she didn’t think Lemon would want to be with her, to be honest, she didn’t think that Lemon would be in a relation ship with anypony. He never acted like he cared about any thing, other than Shadow and her. But the way he cared for them was different, they were like his family. They always took care of each other, no matter what it was; they were there for each other. They all met at an alchemy camp, but at first, they weren’t really on the same page.

Love Heart trotted up towards the gate of the camp, but stopped a few meters short to make sure everything was in check. Mane was up in her baseball cap and her tail looked boyish, the dye looks okay, and all of her female things, brush, hair pins, hair care products, were under all her books and fake male stuff.

She trotted up to the gate to be met by an older stallion, the stallion was of a larger built with a shadow gray coat and night black mane and tail, he had a large scar on his emotionless face that can only be assumed to be caused by an alchemy transmutation gone wrong.

His voice was rough as he spoke. “Morning young one, what’s your name?”

He held up a clipboard with a long list of names of the stallions and colts that were attending the camp.

She spoke in the voice she had been practicing with her older brother, if she wanted to be here, she had to be a colt.

“My name is Blade Stone. Sorry about signing up a little late, my parents misplaced the papers.”

“Ah, here you are, Blade Stone, I was told that you’re pretty good at your alchemy, we’re going to expect great things out of you, head on in.”

She trotted in though the gates, not sure where everything was right now, she decided to just walk around for a little bit. Everywhere around her were young colts running and playing with each other, and older stallions sitting and chatting with one another. The only thing that the place lacked, that made her sick to think about, was mares.

The camp was a “Male only” facility, for some reason, ponies thought that mares shouldn’t practice the art of alchemy. Since alchemy wasn’t the biggest thing around Equestria, this was the only alchemy camp that was made.

Her parents thought that alchemy was too dangerous for a mare like her to practice, but her brother on the other hand, thought that she should do what she loves, so he helped her to get signed up in the camp. Now all she had to do was keep up the act for the duration for the program, how hard could it be?

As she trotted along the dirt path, she took note of most of the colts and stallions that she passed. She decided to keep away from the older stallions, not sure what kind of “sport” they liked to pull with the newbie’s around here. Most of the colts she passed were either very young, or tried to act like the older stallions, so almost every male around here, she was going to avoid. She wasn’t too trilled about sharing a cabin with a bunch of stupid colts, but if that’s what it’s going to take to stay here, she would deal with it.

“Hello future alchemists!” The camp was filled with a cheery voice, but she couldn’t find where it was coming from. “Its time to learn the rules of our camp and to get you in your cabins for the day, so head over to the large, red building over to the left of the gates, see you there!” All the campers started trotting towards the building, most of the young colts didn’t know exactly where they were going, the just ran towards where the older ones were going.

“Hey! You there! Yeah you in the baseball cap!” She turned to see who was talking to her, only to find a colt about her age running towards her. She didn’t have time to react before he reared back to punch her. She leaned to the left, right before his hoof made contact; she spun around, facing her back to him. He had no time to slow down, so he landed on her back, she grabbed his foreleg and flipped him over her shoulder, and slammed him on his back.

“Oww….not bad…for a newbie” He slowly rolled over and stood up; he dusted himself off and outstretched his hoof.

“The names Shadow Heart, but everypony just calls me Shadow.” She placed her hoof on is and shook lightly.

“My name is uhhh….Blade Stone, just call me Blade.”

“Shadow, what are you doing? Stop messing with the newbie’s, even though he just owned you”

She turned to see who the new colt was, the pony she saw was about the same size as Shadow, but his personality was a little dull, he didn’t really have much feeling in his voice. But for some reason, she liked him; she might be able to make some friends here after all.
