The innocent Evil
King Sombra
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIt has been years after nursery, about 4 to be exact. They are now in what you call, ‘Primary 3’. So let’s pick out this certain day, where Sombra learns his first spell, other than the black gems!
Sombra looked at the mirror at his home and made his horn glow. Sweat poured from his face as he used all the power he could to try and cast a levitation spell. The mirror in front of him finally had a deep-black aura around it and he focused more and it went from one milometer off the ground, to about an inch. He focused even harder and some objects around him levitated too. He opened his eyes and saw everything levitation, then a huge smile came up on his face, but then everything dropped.
“Aaw!” Sombra moaned sadly as he kicked at pillow, “Only one way to fix this try agai-”
“Time for school!” called Sombra’s mother, “Don’t want to be late now, do you?”
“Coming!” Sombra called back and got his bag on.
His mother smiled radiantly, as Sombra came down. His eyes lit up eagerly as he approached his mother.
“I did my first spell mummy!” Sombra shouted ecstatically after a few moments, “It was a levitating spell! It was so cool ‘cos I was… was, like, levitating loads of objects and… and… it was so cool!”
“That’s nice honey.” replied his mother.
Sombra jumped around his mother, and his mother bent down and picked him up.
“Come on now, you don’t want to be late, so you can tell your friends all about it!” his mother said, spreading her long, black wings around him for safety.
The walk was quite short, as the school wasn’t very far away from his home. On the way there, Sombra spotted Luna walking with Celestia. Sombra hopped over his mother’s wings and dashed over to Luna.
“Hi Luna!” Sombra said excitedly.
“Oh, hi Sombra!” said Celestia, a lot kinder than in nursery, “I haven’t seen you in ages.”
Celestia smiled radiantly, and Luna smiled back. Celestia suddenly leapt into the air, flapping her wings furiously as she tried to get airborne.
“Uh! I can never get these dumb wings to flap properly.” Celestia moaned.
“I learned a new spell this morning!” Sombra said with a grin stretching across his muzzle, “I learned how to levitate! All… By… My… Self!”
Luna’s eyes widened in awe and Celestia’s mouth dropped open once the words left my mouth. Sombra tilted my head slightly as their awed eyes turned into fear.
“W-what’s wrong?” Sombra asked, fear creeping into his soul, and then, “Is it something on my face?”
Both of them nodded with horror streaked across their faces. He poked his face with his hoof until he touched around his face, then he felt around his eye. There was something odd, something… strange. Celestia went into her bag and took out her mirror. Sombra looked into the mirror and saw deep-purple stuff flowing out the furthest corners of his eye. It looked a lot like mascara, but a lot more devilish. It glowed slightly as well.
“Do any of you know what happened?!” cried Sombra.
Luna shook her head, and Celestia turned away and put her mirror away.
“Why are you so quiet Luna?” I asked curiously.
“Our… grandmother died recently…” Celestia murmured mournfully.
Sombra’s heart cracked in half for them, loosing someone must have been very hard for her, since she is so young.
“She can hardly get over the death of our old gerbil Sammy.” Celestia choked out.
Tears fell down Luna’s face as they continued to walk, but it was only when she sniffled, did we notice her crying.
Celestia put her forelegs around her and tried to calm her, but It made her even more sad.
“I… just… want… grandma… back…” Luna sobbed through her tears.
Sombra’s heart broke again, so he turned away and continued ahead for about one meter, and then waited for them. Once they were walking again, Sombra touched his muzzle against Luna’s neck to calm her slightly. It worked, and she stopped crying. They soon arrived at the school just as the bell rang. Sombra’s ‘evil mascara’ flowed gently in the breeze.
“Luna shouldn’t be here, she should be at her home trying to get over this…” Sombra said quietly.
Celestia nodded, and then turned to Luna.
“Do you want to go home, Luna?” Celestia gently spoke.
Luna nodded her shaky head and Celestia turned round and guided Luna back.
“Tell Mrs Nightlight that our grandmother died, and we can’t come in today.” Celestia called back.
Sombra walked in and told Mrs Nightlight, then the long, boring day began…
