//-------------------------------------------------------// Zombie Equestria -by JimmyBen- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Beginning //-------------------------------------------------------// The Beginning This is my story i made up sitting in my basement playing fallout 3, enjoy It was about 6 am when i finally awoke, it was warm, the room was dark, the sun was still low, barely a sliver of light entered. I finally got up from my bed, i guess i better get to work i thought to myself, i was just a contruction person, building, making, reparing, blah blah blah. I got dressed, normal blue jeans, a short sleeve dark blue shirt, a pair of tennis shoes, and i was out the door, the sun finally showed itself, i thought to myself, Celestia must be getting lazy. Oh were are my manners, my name is Chase, and here is my story to you. I was born, somewhere, I'm not sure, i was an orphan for almost my entire life, when i was 2 my parents were killed due to a plague that hit my town, everyone but a handful died. I was one of the lucky ones, i was adopted when i was 6, by a rich family, i was used pretty much as an unpaid servant, cleaning cooking all that, until finally i was 12, i ran away, never to look back. I found my way to a new home, a better one, i can't recall who she was, but she was more of a mom than anyone i had ever met, until that fateful day. I was in the back yard, helping her with her home garden, i was 15, and as happy as could be, and then they came, a pair of delinquents, they called themselves the darksiders, stupid right, there business was to basically steal from people, we had dealt with them in the past, but this time it was different, they immediately took out a knife and went for the women, i intercepted and knocked the weapon out of his hand. After a brief struggle, his partner came up behind and held me, then that did it, they slit her throat in front of me, they then took the knife and stabbed me in the chest and dumped my body, how i lived ill never know, but eventually someone found me and took me to a hospital, after they figured out i was an orphan they sent me to the nearest orphanage. Another 2 years went by, and no one would adopt me, the orphanage closed, and no one bothered with me, i was 17, no one wanted to adopt a 17 year old, i was homeless for another year, until i happened across this town, appleloosa, long story short, i got a job, an apartment, and I'm trying to make a life for myself, I'm now 20 years old, and i have a job as a construction worker, decent wages, i wasn't scraping by or anything, but you know how it goes, trouble likes to find the ones who already have a hard time. What i mean is i was layer off, fired, i could only afford my apartment for a couple more days, well you probably know the blow that gave to me, i was lost again, i went for a walk through the shopping square to clear my head, and thats when life decided to be a b*tch. The first thing i heard was screaming, then everyone started running, it was complete chaos, i eventually just started running with the crowd, i tripped and fell, luckely, i was spared being trampled, then, i looked up, and i saw it, standing 10 feet away, was the worst thing i had ever seen, it was a, body, a dead body, a damn zombie, but thats impossible. in a heartbeat it was on me, i beat its head until it stumbled back, i ran for my life, it chased me down an alley, there was another, down another alley, theres another, i ran, a hoard following me, i noticed that i was the only person on the street, and all the zombies were after me, i saw the train at the station taking off, i sprinted as fast as i could, the train was already going to fast, but in a desperate attempt, jumped at it anyway, barley able to, i took hold of a bar just there, my feet painfully being dragged behind me. I pulled myself in the cart and relaxed, i was tired, why was i so tired, I'm gonna just skip this part, but heres the short version, i woke up halfway to canterlot, met some survivors on the train, we talked teamed up, and decided on a plan, get to canterlot, thats it, just get there, the survivors were a man and a women about my age, Carl (yep) and Scarlet. We approached the capital of the country, or continent, one of the two, and we hit a speed bump in our plan, we had no idea how to stop a plan,"how are we stopping this thing anyway" i asked nervously, and thats when i knew we were in trouble, as we rolled at top speed toward the station, another problem, this was the final stop on this line, we were gonna crash. After some short discussion, we decided to just do the most bada** thing possible, jump into some bushes while going on a train high speed while coincidentally carrying 4000lb of gunpowder, after the awesome fire light show, we made our way to the nearest house and made camp. The leader of the group was Carl, i was just an extra hand, we set camp and slept, we took shifts of watching for zombies, carl was first, me then Scarlet and so on, well, when good things happen, bad luck was around the corner, as we were roaming the streets heading toward the castle, as we had agreed upon, we were separated by a hoard of zombies, we ran to the nearest open door, but some zombies cut me off, i ran to an ally, were i tripped and dislocated my left arm, they swarmed me, i screamed in agony as i struggled to push them away, i swear i was just moments away from being bit, but something came over me, and i was able to push them off. I managed to pull myself into hardware store, after blocking the door, i pulled myself in a few feet and passed out, after at least 3 hours of sleeping, i finally awoke, a few painful pushes and pulled, and i popped my arm back into its socket, i took inventory of the shop and took action, a wooden bat, some saw blades, a little ingenuity, a saw bladed bat, sweet. I took to the roofs, jumping roof to roof, until i land on a building with a faulty roof, i fell only a few seconds, but it hurt, after regaining my balance i decided to go downstairs, there i found a zombie banging on a door, after bashing its head with my bat, i knocked on the door. A faint sound came from inside, i opened it slowly, and saw her, she had a gray sweater and a pair of black sweat pants, her hair was long and blond, and her eyes looked as if they crossed, i asked here name, she quietly answered, "Derpy". I hope you enjoyed, i might work on this more tomorrow, only if i get some good feedback, thanks for reading bye. Author's Note Im sorry if this chapter is boring, i kinda rushed through the begging to just get to the story, so please dont bash my knee-caps. And I just realized that I made an error with the story line, im going to have to go back through the whole damn story to fix it. //-------------------------------------------------------// Companion... Sure //-------------------------------------------------------// Companion... Sure So after that near death experience, i meet a survivor, and she looks terrified. "Oh my gosh, are you ok" i exclaim, i soon regretted my decision, cause i should have looked around a little better. A zombie shambles up behind me, it grabbed my right arm, and in seconds it was dead, but not by me. I look at the girl, still sitting there, her arm extended, and i look at the zombie. She nailed it right in the head with a normal kitchen, "thanks for that" i say more quietly, "are you here to save me, or..." she goes quiet before finishing, but it was obvious what she meant. Even in the middle of an apocalypse, people lose themselves to dumb need, like sex. My mind races with thoughts of what might of happened before she took refuge, "they came in, grabbed me and" *oh god no* i thought, "took all my muffins"... well alright, as soon as she finished her sentence, she burt out crying. "hey hey hey, its ok, I'm not here to take anything or hurt you, I'm here to help i guess" i try to reassure, "you guess" she says, she looks at me with her eyes, her cute little eyes, she looked so innocent, and... UHHHHH, i couldn't leave herrrr. "i mean", i pause to think, she was adorable, i couldn't leave to fend for herself, possibly killing her if i leave, "... I'm here to help anyway i can". She smiles and slowly stands up, she doesn't look that weak now that she's standing, in fact, she was only a little shorter, and looked like she could swing a bat pretty damn hard. "So how long have you been here alone" i ask, "maybe, a day, or two, i forgot" she says weakly. She collapses, i instinctually stick my arms out just to barely catch her, she was breathing hard, she was near unconscious. Quickly looking at her it was clear, she was extremely dehydrated. I drag her to the nearest sink as fast as i could, "you are not dyeing after i just met you" i say kinda jokingly, but still serious, i tilt her head over the sink and then shoved her head under the faucet, probably very comfortable, but im trying to save a life, not pamper her. Lucky for us the faucets are just fine, thought water stops in an apocalypse, anyway, the water pours into her mouth, luckily she was still conscious to still drink. After a few hours of tending to her, feeding her some apples and other food, and giving her plenty of water, i move her to the bed already laid out upstairs, after locking all the doors, i finally look at the time. It was about 1:15 am, time to catch some shuteye, i go to a chair on the other side of the room, and i start to look at Derpy, thinking if she'll be fine, or if she needs more water, food, maybe another blanket. She looked peaceful and was sleeping fine, thats the last thing i remember, before passing out... Not sure how long i slept, i was pretty well rested when i woke up, and i felt good, never slept that good, well the feeling went out of the window and i sat up to see the bed, empty. My body froze, i looked around the room, and then i jumped to my feet, i hurried down the stairs, a bit to fast actually. I stumbled more than halfway up, and wiped out, after regaining myself, i jump up to see derpy, eating a muffin, fresh out of the oven. "Oh no, you fell, your nose is bleeding, come over here, ill look at that" she says sympathetically, "no no, Im fine, just a little clumsy", i finally breathe in a relieved breath of air. I made my way over to the chair across from her, he slid a plate in front of me with a freshly made muffin lathered with butter, it looked amazing. "You know how to cook" i asked, "Oh yeah, i took cooking in school, i mainly studied muffins, cause i love them so ugh, but i know how to cook different things if you don't want that" she says cheery, "oh no, it looks amazing, i was just asking, anyway, are you okay anything wrong with you" i asked worriedly. "Im okay i suppose, i feel alright and Im no longer tired, thanks to you" she says with a wink, I slightly blushed, but i tried to stay focused on what to do next, *grumble*, after breakfast. I looked at the muffin, it looked really good, so i wasn't worried, i picked it up casually, and took a decent sized bite. After i stopped reeling in shock, i looked at the muffin, and scarfed it down, it was by far, the tastiest thing i have ever had the pleasure of eating. "that was the best damn thing i have ever eaten, in my entire life, no lie", she blushes, she tries to hide it, but i could see it. I start to get up when i looked out the window, i could see someone across the street, looks like there living due to stature and skin, i finally stood up fully and make my way to the window. "whats wrong, er, i never got your name", i look at her and hastily say "My name is Chase", she looks puzzled and asks again, "Whats wrong", "i think i see someone or something across the street, the building over there", i point to a eggshell colored house, it had three floors, and i swear i could see something moving on the second floor. It walks into the shadow were i couldn't see it, i wait a few moments to see if it would come back, but it wasn't, "Ok, false alarm, probably a zombie" i say reassuringly, she smiles and hands me a muffin, i grab it and eat it, thinking of whatever that was. We took our time to gather supplies and rest up a little more before i finally pull out a map, "ok, here i have a map of canter lot, we need to decide right now where we should head" i start to explain places that may be okay, and some that would have them crawling all over the place, of course, i had no idea if my hunches were close. "Why don't we just head for the princesses castle, its big, secure, and probably has a ton of supplies", i look at her and she already knows what I'm gonna say, "and if everyone did head there to scavenge, then maybe they took shelter in there instead, it was the most guarded place in all of equestria, the guards there might have set up a shelter for survivors", before i can respond, i thought of what she said. She had a very good point, it would be the best bet at the moment, whats the harm in checking it out. After a little bit of chatting and planning, we decided on a route to use to get to the castle, it mainly insisted of roof tops and balconies. We made our way to the roof, we wanted to cover as much ground as possible until sundown, i think we jumped a good 10 houses before we took a break. "geez, this is exhausting, its getting dark, might as well take shelter here tonight", we lowered ourselves into the top windows of the house. Once we were in, i made my way through the house checking for anyone, anything or zombies, luckily just some cans of beans. We barricaded the door best we could, packed up the cans, and took shelter upstairs. Now there was a big issue, what about sleeping arrangements. There was only one bed, no couches or chairs to sleep in, "i guess i'll sleep on the ground" i offer, "oh i couldn't possibly do that", she pauses and surveys the bed for a few moments until she finally chimed, "we could share", I hid my face from her, it was red as a beet, i could tell she was trying not to. "it looks big enough for two i guess, we just stay on our sides" i said kinda nervously, we slowly settled into the beds, after a few minutes of lying there, i started to drift into sleep, but right before i did, i felt Derpy cuddle up to me. I just kept quiet and dozed off, i dreamt of a giant castle, and a giant zombie, it was huge, and i was scared as fu- anyway, it chased me, it was catching up, but then as soon as it was on me. "AHHHHHHHH", i woke up immediately to see Derpy being held by her hair by some guy, with him were two others, "yo, you guys aren't that clever are you" they say snootily, we tracked you here, "now me and my friends are gonna kill you, and have fun with your girlfriend here. We both blush a deep crimson, i reach for my bat, they were snickering, they had it right behind them, "this thing is a beauty, mind if i hold on to it, i bet when i play baseball, i'll always get a home run", he swings the bat in a wide arc toward me, i ducked and with all my strength hit the guy right in the jaw. He falls to the ground and the bat lands on the bed behind me. Before i even had a chance to grab it the two were on me, they threw Derpy on the ground, hitting her head on the wall. I was furious, no one hurts my friend, the first one takes out a knife and stabs at me, i took a quick side step dodging the blade, i grabbed his collar and pushed him right through the drywall, the other throws a punch to my face, i block it with my forearm and deliver a blow to his stomach. As he doubles over in pain, i deliver a knee to his nose, knocked him out instantly, i quickly take a stance ready for the others. After i look around, everyone is on the ground, i make my way to Derpy, she's fine but still shook from what just happened, i help her gather herself, we grab our bags, and get to the roof, we needed to get out of there. //-------------------------------------------------------// Going back, Damn //-------------------------------------------------------// Going back, Damn "Oh my god, were almost there, and I'm only about to faint" i say with a heavy pant, "suck it- it up" Derpy chimes with a weez. After escaping the, what would be the correct term, i suppose Raiders would be the best thing, take what they want and kill you, sounds right. Anyhow, after escaping, we jumped roof to roof for hours until we finally reached the final house, right in front of the castle, but there was still a good distance between us and there. The way the whole thing was set, the house line ended, then there was a decent sized road we had to cross, of course there was zombies, where we would have to jump the walls surrounding the perimeter, then make our way across the courtyard to the castle doors. "looks simple enough, we'll have to make our way down, cross the street, jump that wall, cross that courtyard, then were in", Derpy nodded and stumbled a bit, "but can we catch *huff* our breath. We decided to pull out our lunch and take a break, it was just a normal DLT, daisies, lettuce and tomatoes, yum yum. We ate, hydrated, and chatted a bit, she ended up telling me on how people always think she's retarded because of her eyes, I wonder why, she's smart, i would probably be dead a few times if it weren't for her. I felt really bad, she even started to cry a little, i moved over to comfort her, we sat there, me holding her and telling her she is far from retarded for a good 15 minutes, but even if there were zombies around, i wouldn't just let her cry. After she calmed down, she thanked me for listening, and we found a way to climb down and we crossed the street, we only ran into like three zombies, which i killed upon contact. As we made our way to the wall, we hear a bone chilling sound, it was a deep yelling, like a battle cry. We looked behind us, and then around, nothing, then you could hear it, it sounded like a pack of rabid wolves coming in on there prey. By sound alone i could tell there were hundreds, "Get over the wall", i quickly pushed her up onto the wall, then she pulled me up, just as i left the ground, they came around the corner. There were so many, Derpy pulled with all her might, sending we flying over the wall, after i regained my balance and stood up, we immediately started sprinting toward the doors. All i kept thinking was, please be unlocked, please please please, locked. "God dammit" i yelled, the zombies had found a way in and were pouring in from all sides, "Oh crap" Derpy said with a sob, this is definitely not how she wanted to go, neither did i. I took out my bat and was prepared to fight, there was no way we were getting out of this, they were closing in, only a few moments till death, I pulled Derpy behind me, only a few more seconds. But then we hear a creaking sound behind us, and suddenly we were pulled into the castle, the doors slamming behind us. You could hear them banging on the door trying to get in, but to no avail. I just sat there for a moment, Derpy lying beside me. Out of no where she embraced me with a hug, "we made it, we made it, we made it" she kept saying that and refused to let me go for a few minutes. I finally pry her off to see the people who saved us, and i was glad to see who, It was a guard, he stood strong and confident. "thank you for pulling us in" he helps me up, and i help Derpy, "it was nothing, just dong my job, now come on, lets get you settled in". The guard led us down some hallways, there were an abundance of guards, Derpy was spot on with her prediction. "So, is this like a safe house" i ask to the guard we were following, he had remained quiet the entire time, i was hoping he was ok, "Yes sir, this palace was transformed into a place to take shelter as soon as the outbreak got a little out of hand". So the princess thought ahead and already had a plan for something like this, huh, i wouldn't be surprised, lately things have been taking turns for the worst. Before this, i swore that a war was about to break out with the People to the east (In pony term, about where the griffins are) but i guess this stopped that. I peeked into multiple doors on the way, i saw sick, injured, children and elderly. Where was everyone else, i thought of where they could be, probably helping out i decided upon. We were finally led into a giant room, i it were maps and charts, tech and monitors all over the place, didn't even knew these existed, well i guess the princess would get the best stuff. The guard then led us to the back of the room, where we were introduced to our queen herself, i bowed immediately, as did Derpy. "you may stand" she said in a regal voice, yet full of sorrow, i wouldn't blame her, i couldn't imagine what she must be going through, she lost almost everything, and she has to work constantly to fix it, i felt sorry. "thats not all why I'm distressed, I'm worried of my student and her friend in the valley"... Did she just read my mind? "The town they were in, Ponyville, took the worst of it from my scouts", ponyville i thought, i recalled passing by while taking the train here, we had seen it for a moment and saw hoards upon hoards of zombies there. "Do you think there ok" i asked sympathetically, "Im sure there still alive, there a tough bunch, but Im not a hundred percent sure, thats why i need you" she looked at me with the most serious eyes i had ever seen from, well anybody. "What do you mean, Im just one guy, why not just send a few guards" i asked in a respectful tone. "I cannot risk to many guards, your still alive, which must mean you know what your doing", i tried to act modest, but who am i to argue with the queen, "And i wont just be sending you, you and your friend there". The princess looks to Derpy and then to me, "Its not like you can say no", she was right y'know, "Alright, what do we do", "Ive had some of my men repair a boat on the roof, it should be in good enough shape to fly, they will show you how to use it, if you return with my student, i will be forever grateful". After a little preparation, we boarded the boat, they showed me how to get it to elevate and descend, how to steer and stop it, as soon as we where ready, they untied the ropes. The boat was a little wobbly at first, but we were on our way. "Derpy, you got the maps", "right here" she said happily, we traveled for a few hours, until we finally came into view of the town. "thats got to be it" i said in a relieved tone, but the sun had already set, so we parked the boat and and both decided to get some shuteye. We went bellow deck, we sat down to eat our dinner, a salad and apples with some cider, and pie for dessert, "this boat is loaded, i wonder if the princess did this" i questioned with a chuckle. After a filing meal, we got settled into the bed, we had both agreed to just sleep in the same bed, save us the trouble of making a pallet, so we lied down, when i heard Derpy ask me a, rather odd question. "Is it okay if i..." her voice went low and she turned over, she was facing away from me, and you could feel her shutter a bit. "What's that Derpy" i ask quietly, " she rolls over and says in a whisper, "when i was little, i would always sleep with my dad when i got scared, i always cuddled up to him, is it okay if i...", she was so red, and cute, and thats sweet how she would cuddle with her dad, lord knows i couldn't. "of course you can", she smiled and moved in, and we lied there until we finally dozed off, but right before i did, i heard her mumble in her sleep, "i love you daddy", after a few moments, my mouth finally reacted, and i whispered back with a "i love you too, Derpy". I was the first one to wake up, i slowly got out of the bed and made my way to the kitchen, i made us some eggs, toast and some pancakes, and a special muffin for Derpy, i wasn't that much of a cook, but i knew what i was doing. Like i had explained earlier, when i was adopted when i was six, the parents treated me more as a slave, so they made me cook occasionally if they weren't out partying or out at a fancy rest aunt, so i also had to take care of myself, so i learned a few things. As i was just rapping up cleaning, Derpy entered the room, she was wearing a pair of pajamas, didn't notice that she changed last night. She sat down at the table, she had a beaming smile, "good morning chase, that looks delicious", i brought her a plate half full with eggs, two pancakes with syrup, and a piece of butter toast that was cooked in a way were it wasn't crunchy, but more of floppy, but still warm and golden, brown smothered with grape jelly, once that was set down, i presented her with the muffin i had made. "I hope its ok, Im not much of a cook" she gave me a big smile, and turned to her eggs, which she started to chow on. I then made my plate and sat across from her, "You sleep well" i asked taking a bite of the toast, "Better than i have in a long time" she answered, then taking a big bite of pancakes, she swallowed and continued, " i dreamed of my dad", "He must be a great man" i said with a friendly smile. "He was, he passed away a few years ago, after he died i decided to move to Canterlot, i got a job as a mailman, er, women, and worked everyday until the outbreak, i won't stop trying to reach my goal though", "and whats that" i said curiously. "to find the right man to settle down with, its what my dad wanted, he always wanted me to find the right person, but i haven't yet". You wouldn't believe how hard it was not shedding a single tear, this was the most heart touching story i had ever heard, "Im sure he'll show himself, one day". After we finished breakfast, we got to work getting the boat moving, we sailed for Ponyville, it was in sight, but we still had an hour or two left. We just sat on the deck chatting about life for a little while, until Derpy finally asked, "you haven't said much of yourself, whats your story?" I figured if we were gonna travel, she might want to hear more about me. I told her about my parents, my horrid parents, and then the only real mother i had dying in front of me. After telling my long tale, i look at her, she was happily listening, and i could see a tear welling up in her eye. "Life was hard wasn't it' she asked on the verge of crying. I decided the best thing to do was embrace her with a hug, "it was only as bad as i portray it to be, and i know that other people have it worse, so I'm not gonna sulk on the past, but look to the future". she started to hug back, and we stayed like that for a good minute, until we decided to break it. We were closing in on the town, and we needed to find these people, time to get to work i guess. Author's Note Im sorry for some of the spelling errors, i was confused on were and where for a while, how, i don't know, but i tried to fix some, but im lazy, so, oh well. //-------------------------------------------------------// New People, sweet //-------------------------------------------------------// New People, sweet As we make our descent into the fields outside the town, i could see the streets, it didn't look like it took the worst, the streets were clear, and the building looked fine. Like nothing happened, as the hull landed onto the ground, we looked around, we saw the town, a bridge, a farm and a tree line, kinda barren place for a place that was so populated. "Well looks like we need to get to the library, thats where Celestia said to look right" i looked to Derpy, she nods and points to a map she pulled out, "its right there, center of town, don't worry, i worked here for a few years, so i know the best way to get there" she said with a smile. We packed our things, and then i noticed something, "you don't have a weapon", she looks at me as if i was crazy. "yeah, we haven't been able to find me one, so I'm just behind you for the moment", "would you fight if you had one" i asked her with a questioning look, she replied with good punch to the side. I gotta say, she can hit, still a bit sore even as we stroll through the town, by now she's apologized about 15 times, but i said it was fine, that i forgave her. As we walked through the street, we stumbled across sugar cube corner, i peered through the window to see an empty dusty room. We entered the shop to see how it was, it was so dusty and *cough* oh god, well, we scoured the rooms of the building, but there was nothing there. We then grabbed the few water bottles that were there and made our way for the boutique, as we marched down the street we saw what looked like a tool shop. "C'mon Derpy, lets get you a weapon", as we entered the shop, the ideas of weapons poured into my mind, but only one did i decide to go with. I grabbed a metal bar about 3-5 inches in diameter, took some duct tape and rapped it around the bottom part, after that i took a welding device, some little metal bars, and welded then on, it was like a makeshift mace. I bent the bars so the were somewhat rounded, then i welded them down, it was about 2-3 feet long, a little under a yard, but a god melee weapon none the less, i then gave Derpy a choice, the bat or the mace. She chose the bat, maybe because my weapon didn't look that great, but i was confident in its durability. We exited the store and headed to the boutique, as like the sweets shop, there was nothing there, then we checked the cloud home. We wanted to check the houses outside of the town then move into the library later, so we headed for the cottage. "I'm hoping that everyone got out of here in time" Derpy said with a frown, "I'm sure most did, this place looks untouched, Im positive that there fine", i don't know what made me say that, cause i didn't believe it myself. As we approached the cottage, i noticed that there was thriving creatures and animals, i wonder whats goin on. We head on in cautious of what was inside, what we saw kinda shocked me, animals eating out of food bowls. "what?" i asked my self, didnt look abandoned at all. All of a sudden a bunny jumped up beside me waving her arms, "oh, what do you want little one". The bunny started pointing upstairs, then in played a game of charades, it first acted like a big guy, then a helpless women, then it started dragging a bag, and then acted like it was taking of clothes.... "you getting any of this Derpy", i looked over to see Derpy wide eyed, "its saying that a big guy came by took fluttershy and is raping her upstairs", the bunny nodded furiously. As soon as i got it, i raced up the steps, i broke the door right off its hinges i ran into it so hard, i looked in the room to see a crying lady with her pants off, and a man about to take her, er, panties off. He was on me in an instant, i tried to dodge but to no avail, he tackled me down the stairs, as we tumbled, i tried to hit him a few times. We finally came to a halt, the guy was the first to get up, he pulled out a nasty looking blade, and slashed at me, i shifted my body and he missed, stabbing the ground with enough for to crack the floor boards. I gave him a good punch in the face and stop up, he was struggling with the knife, so i went for my mace, oh god. I looked behind him, my mace fell off in the struggle, he soon looked where i was looking, and picked up the mace, he swung it at me with such furry. I barely dodged it, and as he went for another swing, the mace fell to the ground, his arms drooped, and his eyes were lifeless, he fell on the ground, and behind him was Derpy, standing firm with a freshly bloodied cat. "I think you knocked his brains out" i said with a chuckle, as she helps me up she chimes, "If he had any brains in the first place, he would have not messed with us". As we collect ourselves, i remember the bound up women up stairs, i rush up to see that her underwear was clean off, he must have pulled them off when he charged me. I shut my eyes and stumble back down the stairs, "Derpy, i think you should handle this", after a few moments of waiting and being swarmed with all sorts of animals that i think were thanking me, they both finally come down the steps, the lady wearing a pair of skinny jeans, and a frilly yellow shirt, it was a really cute outfit. Before i could ask if she was ok, she rushes me into a hug, "thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou", she said in a quick succession, "what for" i asks, yeah i knew the answer, but i think its rude to be like, yeah i just saved your virginity. "you saved my virginity", haha, nailed it, anyhow, "you came just in time to save me, but why did you leave be when you saw i was vulnerable", wow this is getting a little, strange (is the writer drunk) "why would i take advantage of you", she looked at me with open eyes and said with a low sigh, "I'm not pretty enough". "woh woh woh who, why would you insinuate that, your very cute, i just, what the hell is going on here", "she steps back and blushes, "oh its nothing, i just, i thought that, you were doing this, because you loved me or something", i started to see what was going on, she was thinking that a complete stranger would never help her, but the person has to have a reason. Well, this was getting a little confusing to me, so i just decided to just drop the question. "Do you know of celestia's student, me and my friend are here to save her and her friends", she looked surprised, "so celestia knew this would happen", i was starting to wonder something. "no, she didn't, this just happened and we were at the right place at the right time, now, so you know about her student" Derpy asked her, "why of course, she's my friend, Twighlight, and my name is Fluttershy by the way", "nice to meet you i said with a grin", we found one of the friends, but something about her stuck me as odd, so i asked another question. "How have you been surviving this apocalypse?" She looked at me with the most confused face, she had no idea what i was talking about. "What do you mean, im surviving fine, i mean i need to go shopping soon but- wait, apocalypse", my hunches were correct, she has no idea that there were zombies roaming. I decided to break it to her, she took it rather well, until i started to mention some death, and her friends. She went hysteric when i mentioned her friends, "My friends are in danger" she said in a low yet alerted voice, "We have to go" she said immediately. Before i could reply, she was running out of the front door, "wait" i yelled out to her. She was set on going to town, so we followed. We finally caught up to her, and tried to slow her down, she started to fly away until she finally shook free and soared away, "now what i said in a weak tone", Derpy ran up beside we to remind me of something, "we both have wings you know", i was shocked and looked behind me, "oh yeah, i totally forgot about these things". Well i felt like a complete loser forgetting that we both had wings well after a few moments of bashing my head into a tree, we were off and after Fluttershy. I have to admit, i almost never actually used my wings, kinda the reason i haven't mentioned them. So i was kind of slow at first, until i re gained my rhythm, and started flying like a champ, except for the fact that i almost fell every 5 seconds, eventually i got it and started keeping up with Derpy. We finally spotted Fluttershy, she was in front of the door to the library, and they were closing in, we flew down as fast as we could, the door was jammed, "Fluttershy, move" i ran up to the door, breaking down the door in one good kick. After we scurried in, we put the door back in place, and placed the couch in the main room in front of it. "Ok guys, we probably don't have much time until they break down the door, so we gotta move fast, you two check the door over there" i pointed to a door at the top of the stairs, "And i will take that door" i headed to a door near the back of the room. I open the door where i see more steps leading down, i make my way down as the girls checked upstairs, when i reached the bottom, i could see some, very sciencey things. Test tubes and machines strewn about the room, i didn't have tome to gander, i looked across the room, to see a cage of some sort, and zombies up against it, all trying to reach something, i took it as good news and killed them with a good swing, while my custom mace works, it has a down side, it gets stuck in there bodies way to easy. I killed the second one out of the three, and my mace had gotten stuck in his head, and the third was almost on me, i dropped the mace and jumped back, i grabbed the nearest object and swung, a short sword, odd, but it worked. As the zombies head rolled, i looked at the sword in my hand, it was a royal guards sword, but how could it get here, in a time of extreme crisis, they retreat to the castle in canterlot for further orders, and none of the zombies i killed where armored or had the muscle mass to be a guard. As i pondered, i realize that i was doing something, i walked up to the cage, it looked like a cage you would use to keep an animal contained, kinda like a jail cell, but smaller, and had a few science gizmos in it, and a weezing half awake women. She was lying there, her eyes drooped, and she was in a lot of pain, there was so much blood on the ground, I pull on the cage and push, trying to knock it down or something, until the women slowly raises her hand, in it, a key. I reach in my arm to grab it, i grab it barely by my finger tips, i unlock the cage and quickly pick up the lady, she was thirsty, hungry and bleeding. I carry her up he stairs where i found Derpy and Fluttershy waiting, "we are ready to go now" Derpy said looking out the window, "lets go" we opened the door and made a mad dash, neither of them noticing i was carrying someone. We eventually made it out of the town, rushing our way to Sweet apple acres, I kept studying the women I was holding, she looked about the same age as Derpy, and i will have you know, I don't know how old she is, but they looked between 25 to 30 years of age, maybe younger. She wore a blue hoodie with what looked like a few rainbow lightning bolts on her side, and a pair of back jeans, she looked tough, and rather pretty. Yes i found her pretty, her hair was so colorful and her hoodie complemented it, well anyway, as we ran, they finally looked back and saw i was carrying a person. "RAINBOW DASH" Fluttershy said in delight, she immediately stopped running and turned to pounce on her injured friend, she made me tumble onto the ground, and at this point, my body has a few injures itself, when i fell in Canterlot and fought off the hoards, fell through the roof, and fought the bandits, i have cuts and bruises on my lets, a big cut on my chest, and a somewhat small concussion, and that tackle from Fluttershy just added. But enough about me, as i recovered, Fluttershy saw that Rainbow was bleeding, "oh my gosh, we need to get her somewhere safe", I looked at her with a flat face, "what do you think i was doing." She slightly blushed, as I picked up Dashie here, the zombie hoard had actually caught up, "I thought we lost them" Derpy said in a surprised voice, "apparently not" i said in a more or less terrified tone. We start to run again, until we saw a barn in the distance, "thats the place" Fluttershy said breathlessly, we sprinted to the farm, to see a 12 foot wall blocking our path. "the hell is this" i asked in an irritated voice. We started running along side until i just decided on a plan, "okay, I'm going to crouch down and vault you guys over, once your over, im going to pass over rainbow, then i will find out what to do from there", they look at me like i was crazy, but then i stopped, put down rainbow, and crouched, cupping my hand together Derpy quickly hopped on, i pushed her up where she grabbed onto ledge, as she pulled herself up, i then vaulted Fluttershy up to the wall, she slowly made her way over, but she got there, and as soon as i could, i turned to the unconscious Rainbow Dash, with all my might, i heaved her over the wall to a waiting Derpy and Fluttershy. Not one second after she was over, the zombies were on me, i shook em off and started running again, "damn it, i didn't run track in high school you dick zombies" i mumbled under my breathe, i was getting tired, i was running on terror now. As i rounded the corner, i see apart of the wall open up, and i shovel came right out smacking me square in the face. I don't remember a ton, but i remember someone dragging me inside, when my vision came back, and the world stopped spinning, i finally got a good view of the people that stood in front of me, "I'm so sorry sugar-cube, i thought you were a undead thing" said a tall strong looking female, she wore an orange checkered shirt, with a pair of dirty pants, couldn't tell what they were, they were covered in mud, and a tall standing man, not wearing a shirt, and another dirty pair of pants. I fainted for a while, whatever concussion that i had before is probably worse, and i think my nose broke too, I finally woke up in a bed with apple themed covers, no one was in the room, so i wondered where anyone was. I got to my feet, and shambled into the hall, the house was beautiful, a very country style house, reminded me of when i was younger, i then remembered the women i stayed with for like 3 years, who was murdered in front of me. I shook my head, trying to think straight, i need to find Derpy, and Rainbow, but i kept getting distracted by the decor. There were pictures all over the walls, the walls were a nice light red, and it cut off to a wooden wall type thing, it reminded me of my past so much, and i smiled, as i viewed the pictures, i see all the people that probably live here. An older women, a young man, a younger female and a little girl, at least around 10, i finally focused and walked down the stairs, tired and slightly in pain. I made my way down the stairs to a kitchen, it was empty, so i walked up to a window where i finally saw someone, i saw the women in the orange checkered shirt talking to Fluttershy. I walk out the door trying to sneak up on the women, as i get close, i hear what she was saying, both her and Fluttershy were looking in the same direction, they were talking about me believe it or not. "He's not a bad guy, he found me and Rainbow, he isn't going to hurt any of you" Fluttershy said throwing a rock, "If you say so, but he better watch himself, if he hurts any of you or steps out of line, I will get him" she said swinging her fist back, like you would if there was someone standing behind you. I caught her hand, and she turns with a nervous face, I looked at her with a smirk, she just looked at me with a worried face, as if i was going to hit her or something. I let go of her hand and at down next to her, "This is a nice place you got here miss" i say with a polite smile "reminds me of when i was younger, lived in the country-side, very beautiful". She looks at me with a relieved look on her face, "thank you kindly, been living here my whole life y'know, sorry for hitting you with that shovel" she looks forward, "Just trying to protect my family, hope your not mad" she looked at me with a altered version of a puppy face, "Its fine, i get it, thanks for not killing me though". After a good 15 minutes of chatting, we hear calling from the barn, "Applejack darling, can you help me with this hay bale, its to close to my bed-mat", i look to who assume is this Applejack, she gets up and looks to me, "By the way names Applejack" she sticks out her hand, "Chase" i say, i outstretch my hand and shake hers, firm grip. We all make our way to the barn, were i see a whole lot of commotion, there were at least 10 people hold up inside, i saw bunch of people i didn't know in the front, one was a women in yellow shirt with orange-ish hair, another with blue hair with white streaks and a blue shirt. There was a family in the front, the wife with a light blue shirt and reddish pinkish hair, and the husband wore a yellow shirt and had orange hair as well, then more toward the middle, was a women with a pink dress, and pink hair, she was talking to a little girl in a yellow short sleeve shirt and had red hair. Very colorful people, I have to admit, as soon as i showed my face in the barn door, the one in the pink dress was on me, tackling me to the ground in a full bear hug. "OHMYGOSH, YOUMUSTBENEWBECAUSEIVENVERSEENYOUAND-", she rambles on in a fast movement that I couldn't understand a word she said, after prying her off, I finally get a word in, "Hi, my name is chase, who are you" i ask with a friendly smile. "My name is PinkiePie, and I can't wait to get to know you cause your my new friend" she said in a fast succession, "I cant wait to get to know you too", after a few seconds of talking, a little girl approached me, "hi, whats your name" i ask with a smile, "Im Applebloom, I'm Applejack's sister, and I hope your here to help with chores, cause we need all the help we can get" she says with a smile back. I greeted everyone in the front, Carrot Top, Colgate, Mr. and Mrs. Cake with there children Pumpkin and Poundcake. As i made my way to the back i hear another lady, "Applejack, i said i need help", a very beautiful women came around some hay bales, knocking into me, "watch were you-", she looks at me and changes her tone, "well, ahm, hi, I am Rarity" she said with a gorgeous smile, and who are you, "Oh, my name is Chase, nice to meet you, so you need help" i asked with a smirk. "Oh yes, um, i sleep over there, and i don't like having that filthy little hay bale there", I could feel Applejack roll her eyes, but I'm not one to judge what someone wants, i walk back with her to see a hay bale sitting rather close to a placed mat. "alright, i got this, i grab the hay-bale, and with a little struggle lift it up, mind you, my face hurts, and i don't really feel that great, I carry the bale over to a different bale, and set it down, "thank you darling", i turn to see Rarity looking at me with her beautiful eyes, I tried not to blush, but i think it showed, cause she gave me a little giggle. I turned away and continued to the back of the barn, i could see Derpy leaned up against the back wall, fast asleep, "poor thing, after I you passed out, she got so worried, she refused to go to sleep unless you were there, she finally fell asleep about an hour ago". I looked at her, why would she stay up, i just pondered on that little while, until I was dragged away by AJ. "Sorry honey, better leave her be, anyway, we need to talk to you", she pulled me to the back of the barn, were Rainbow lied unconscious, she had been patched up, but she was still injured, beside her stood another little kid, he had what looked like a purple little hoodie, and green hair, he stood over her, looking worried. "hey, who are you" i asked, he simply looked at me with a frown, and looked back, obviously he was anxious. "thats spike, he is a bit worried about Rainbow here, never seen someone so injured" AJ whispered to me, I walked up to Dash to get a good look at the injuries, she looked well enough, she was going to recover, but he is young, he doesn't need to be seeing friends being hurt like this, assuming they were friends of course. "So who do i need to talk with" i asked AJ, "Me" a voice said from behind me, I turn to see a intellectual lady standing in front of me, she had black and purple hair, and wore a very pretty looking violet sweater, she looked at me with a smile. "So who are you" i asked with an outstretched hand, "the names Twilight Sparkle". Author's Note This a weak chapter, but i started hitting writers block, and tried to work around it, hope its good. //-------------------------------------------------------// Just a little talk //-------------------------------------------------------// Just a little talk So after our introductions with everyone in the barn, I look to Twilight, she signaled me over to her and a few friends, "Who are you, you said you were sent by the princess right, but you don't wear the armor, and they normally work in groups", they all looked at me curiously, "My name is Chase, Im just some guy that the princess sent to find you", she looked like she was thinking hard, a deep thinking, she finally asked "why didn't she just send some guards", I looked around, they all really wanted to know, i wonder why, "she said that she couldn't spare a single guard, she needed all of them for protection, so she sent someone expendable". They all looked surprised, "she would never do that, she cares for all of her subjects, especially if it were to find us, i will assume you don't know who we are", I took note of who were around me, six people, so i will assume these are the friends that the princess was talking about, but why does she want me to save them? "We are known as the 'Elements of Harmony', we are the users of the elements, we are used basically to keep the peace and, well, save the world, we could stop this apocalypse, and save everyone", for a second i just smiled, as if it were a joke, they looked and sat there dead silent, "Oh" i say weakly, they are telling the truth, then i sat up happily, "well this is great, i saved the six people to save the world, soon this will be over". They just looked, carefully, then i started to get it, why was i sent to save the people that could end the apocalypse, "Im just wondering, why the princess would send a complete stranger, to save the elements and her student" Applejack finally said to Twi, "Thats what I'm wondering too" Twi said with a glare. I was starting to feel uncomfortable, "well Im not the only one, Derpy over there came too" i said with a small chuckle, for some reason, they felt hostile to me, like someone was going to jump up, and hit me with the shovel, "Well from what i can tell, she was just following you, and another thing, she must have given you the option to help, why did you decide to come help" Rarity asked, "well, when i was approached by the princess by this, i thought of two things, one was that she was the princess, i couldn't just say no, but i also thought that there are people out there fighting for there lives, so i just thought i could help her out". After a brief conversation on what exactly happened in the town and such, i hear a moan from behind Fluttershy, Rainbow was finally waking up, she leaned up and took a quick look around, when she got to me, she just stared, i started to think about how she might thank me or something, "who is that loser" she whispered to Fluttershy, but i heard it pretty well. After a brief silence, she whispers again "did he hear me", i simply looked at her, "anyway" i finally said, "you were going back to why i was sent" i looked to Twi who finally looked back, "Yes, you see, i know the princess better then anyone, and i know that she would never do something like that, she would send guards to secure us, so I'm wondering why she sent you, maybe there is a distinct reason, but I'm not sure, the best way to get the answer is to ask the princess herself" I nodded in agreement, there must be some reason she sent a stranger. We finally wrapped things up, and i made my way out of the barn, until i was tackled again, from my right and left, as i was walking two people decided to jump on me, one from my right about at my neck, and left near my legs, ending with no one actually grabbing me, and me spinning in the air and landing on my head. "OH MY GOSH IM SO SORRY" i hear coming from two different people, before i could tell if up was down, i was being tackled again, by now there were two people on my chest. Derpy had finally woken up from her slumber, and Pinkie had just tackled me, i guess to get my attention. My head finally stopped spinning, and i finally got a good look at the women, "Derpy" i say in a faint yet relieved tone, i pull her in to a hug, i was happy she was ok, she finally hugs back, then i hear crying, and look beyong derpies shoulder, seeing a miss Pinkie bawling her eyes out. "WAHHHHHH,THIS IS SO SWEET, WAHHHHHHHH", she continued for a few moments as me and derpy looked at each other with confusion and concern, no for each other, but for Pinkie. "Pinkie are you okay, are you hurt or something" Derpy asked in a tired voice, she obviously needs more sleep, but i can tell i wont be able to convince her, not without some sleeping pills and tea at least. As me and Derpy got up, Pinkie finally came up closer, "Im sorry about that, i get emotional when i see love", Me and Derpy blushed a deep crimson and looked away from each other, finally Derpy spoke up "we are not really, together", as the words left her mouth I could hear a few people in the barn grow quiet, i wonder why, "well anyway" pinkie continued "I wanted to get to know you, since your new and all, I wanted to learn more about you" she said to me in a more serious voice this time. I happily obliged and we sat on some hay bails, it was also a chance for Derpy to get to know me a little better, as i have told her about me, she might have forgot, I know I would have, bad memory. "Well, i was born in, well, i don't know" I began, as I told my tale of being an orphan and, never knowing my parents, being an unpaid slave, it seemed to have attracted a crowd, as everyone in the barn gathered around, I just continued, as i got to the part of my closest mother I had ever had, people seemed to have been on the edge of there seats. As I told them how they died, everyone jumped back, like they were watching. I wrapped up the story with a 'now I'm here' thing, when I finished, Pinkie proceeded to pat my shoulder, as if to help, and i appreciate it, a lot. The crowd dispersed in silence, which I more or less expected, I made my way out of the barn, it seemed that this would be over with soon, but i had a feeling that there was a little more to this, i kept wondering why i was sent, and then i wondered, how many people can fit on our boat, from my calculations, its only built to harbor no more than 8 at least, and there were more then 10, obviously a problem. I walked to the house where I saw AJ had entered, I walked in to see her talking to the older lady in the paintings, I walked up as the women walked away, "thats Granny Smith, she's off to take her nap, so what do you need sugar cube" AJ said with a grin, "Well, since I might be here awhile as we plan our next moves and such, I would like to know how i can make myself useful in any way" I asked, she seemed to have liked what i said, "some with me, me and my brother are workin on something and need help". She led me to the back of the barn, where there was sitting what appeared to be a wagon, but had something hooked up to it, "Awhile back, our family was challenged in a contest to who could make the most apple cider in an hour, we were challenged by a couple of city folk with some strange contraption, Twilight saw the ingenuity in this device, saying with the right parts and builders, and with the aid of magic, could be made into a transportation vehicle, like a train, but smaller, so Twilight, Big Mac and I have been working on this here wagon, big enough to fit more than 20 people, and if we do this right, can go just as fast to a little slower than a train, but we need help, do you think you can help". My head was spinning with this idea, transportation, with a wagon, but without horses pulling it, yeah we have trains, but this is like taking the engine of the train, and sticking it on a wagon. I was blown away by the thought, but reluctantly agreed to the idea, we worked all day on fastening the engine up on the wagon, working on it, putting pieces together, and just trying to get this working, I had devised a plan in my mind while we worked, as I see it, we have a new form of getting to canterlot if this works, so that means that we don't really need the boat, but we cant just leave it, after a brief pause to think, i finally thought of it, since the cakes have babies we should set them on the boat, safer, quieter and quicker, and Rainbow, she is still in no state to make a long journey, and Granny smith with AppleBloom, and of course Derpy would have to go with them, besides me and her, no one else knew how to use a flying boat. As we finished up the work, I looked to the sun, it was setting, everyone started to go towards the barn again, as did I, though I was never given a designated place to sleep. I entered the barn to see everyone getting settled in for sleep, the sun was all the way down and the doors were shut, I looked around for an empty spot on the ground or a comfy hay bale, until i got a gentle tap on the shoulder, i turn to see Rarity, standing rather nervously, "if you need a place to sleep, well, you can sleep with me" she said without a single hint of embarrassment, I was taken back by her offer, it was silent for a few moments, until she finally spoke up again, "Well" she said with a wink, I hesitantly nodded, and followed her to her mat on the ground, she was using five pallets, 3 blankets and at least 6 pillows. As I wondered where these were earlier, she lies down and signals me over, I start to lie down near the more outer part of the pallet, but she grabbed my arm and pulled my closer, she insist for me to sleep right next to her, I hesitated, but eventually got onto my back, as i got in the covers, Rarity rolls over, looking me in the eyes. We shared a look for a few minutes until she finally whispers "You don't have to be embarrassed, its just for tonight, anyhow, I miss spooning with someone. I have to admit, she is the prettiest person i have ever met, and something about her, made her seem like she was different, while she walked, talked and acted like an uptight person, I could feel that was much more, we finally got comfortable on the pallet, getting into a good sleeping position, and I started to dose, I finally hear someone say something from behind me, it was quiet, but serious, i had no idea who said it or what was said, but someone was pissed off, and i wonder why. Author's Note Its shorter than the last one, oh well, im trying my best, i hope you all are liking it, and sorry this took so dam long, school is getting in the way, and i had writers block for a while, and google+ is taking up a lot of time, and im moving soon, but i will try to make these more frequently, so please stay tuned and please leave me some feedback.
