Her horn glowing with an aura, Twilight Sparkle sat in her castle, so far from 'friends'. Her subjects weren't friends, just.... Other ponies.... She didn't know how to explain, but she let a sigh escape her mouth and rose, and set her tea down with magic.

The purple colored Alicorn cast a somber glance at the castle courtyards, as if waiting for a pony that would never come.

But, one did come. She, or he, was orange, and seemed muscular with a blonde mane. It was running into the castle with nostrils flared and eyes in slits.

A fresh wave memories passed over Twilight, reminding her fiercely of Ponyville, and her friends. Their happy smiles, the victory of defeating bad...

No. She couldn't think about them, she couldn't think of anybody other than herself. Nobody.

Twilight shook the memories away with a flick of her head, a little strand of her mane flickering into her face as her head was tossed.

Twilight looked up sharply as her throne room door was pushed open swiftly and slammed shut.

No... She couldn't believe her eyes. Applejack was standing in the doorway, puffing out breaths as she stomped up to Twilight.

So, that was AppleJack.... A little thought pounded in Twilight's head softly, remembering the flickering orange across the fields. Was her memory getting so bad that she couldn't even recognize old friends?

"Twilight, we need to talk!" Applejack growled as she stormed into the room and fixed the Alicorn with an angry glare.

Surprised by the sudden outburst of rage from Applejack, Twilight looked taken aback, before nodding, and motioning her to sit.

Applejack refused to sit quietly with a little snort, and yelled softly. "I thought the five where more to you then just this!" She kicked the ground with a hoof, before adding on. "You don't even visit! Spike has been waiting for so long, because you didn't bring him with you!"

Twilight rose defensively, eyes blazing. "I left because we were all falling apart!" It was true, the five were. But, she had left due to royal duty. It hadn't had to do with the five, nor Spike. "Rainbow left for the Wonderbolts! Rarity's caught up with dresses, you own the family business!" With that, she forced herself to regain calm, and sat back down on the cushions.

Twilight didn't even notice a certain mare walking in as the two were fighting, that mare was Celestia. She creaked the door closed, and walked in quietly.

Applejack flattened her ears. She forced herself to sit down. "Twlight,we had nothing else to do,Rainbow had nothing to do,Rarity always had time for us, And my family gave me the position to make me feel better after you left!" At the last quote, she broke into tears. She fell down onto the floor and sobbed into her hoofs. Apple Jack looked up as Celestia entered. "Princess Celestia." She whispered and bowed, blinking the tears out of her eyes.

Twilight layed her ears against her head, and growled through gritted teeth. "Well, if you all blame me, then we aren't friends...." The mare seemed oblivious to Princess Celestia walking into the throne room as the two ex-friends fought.

Applejack rose to her hooves, looking at Twilight with a burning glare. "I'm terribly sorry then." She growled and turned to Celestia and bowed once again. "I'm sorry you had to hear this. Am I dismissed?" She asked quietly, still dazed by the fight a bit.

Celestia eye's lowered to Apple Jack then to Twilight "Yes, You may go"

Apple Jack stomped out of the room, the glare of Twilight burning into her back as she hauled the large door open and slammed it shut.

"Twilight" Celestia turned to face her.

Twilight let a nervous smile curl at her lips awkwardly as she turned her head to look at the princess. "Yes Celestia?"

"Must you treat your,er, ex-friends as you call them now, like that?" The Princess asked soothingly, walking up to Twilight cautiously in case she felt the need to start another fight.

About to retort, Twilight bit her words back and hung her head. "No..." He mane fell as she moved her head, barely scraping against the marble flooring.

Celestia nudged her with her muzzle. "Well, no need to yell at them, you are a princess." She pointed out, letting a smile wash onto her face.

At the mention of being a princess, Twilight snapped her head back up, and said cooly. "I never wanted to be a princess." He mane bounced back into place, looking the same as when it was untouched.

Celestia sighed "May i remind you, It's part of your destiny?" She looked down at the mare, eyes hard but having a familiar softness in them.

"It was my destiny to leave friends? Turn them against me?" The purple pony questioned almost sadly, forcing a tear back into her eye.

"No" Celestia levitated a book that titled "Elements of Harmony" She flipped to a page that was ripped out, and put the ripped page in. 'It say's, 'When the Element of magic, finishes the Quest, they shall be gifted the power of an Alicorn. But, if the pony no longer wishes to stay as an Alicorn, they may cast a spell of being normal again'"

Twilight almost jumped out of the the throne and dashed over to the book that was now levitating, and looked it over. ''How do I do it?"

Celestia shut the book softly, and levitated it back to it's place. "Luna can teach you, She had practiced it when on the moon."

Twilight backed away from the book, and asked Celestia. "Where is she?" Luna was a strong pony, no wonder she could cast the spell.

"On the other side of the castle" Celestia's magical aura around her horn disappeared as the book was securely back in place. "She's with the guards"

"Thanks!" Twilight breathed, and raced out of the throne room, leaving Celestia deserted. She raced across the castle , searching desperately for the mysterious Luna.

"No, no!" Luna's voice rang out faintly in the distant corridors, her Canterlot voice not hard to miss.

Hearing Luna's voice echoing down the hallway, she pelted down it, calling out. "Luna!" She skidded to a halt in the room where the princess was pacing back and forth, seeming frustrated.

Luna jumped "Ah!" and froze Twilight with her magic "Oh..." She quickly undid her magic, though her eyes were still round. "Im sorry" She took a deep breath, breathing it out softly in a way to calm her down.

After being forzen for a moment, Twilight exploded into life suddenly, shaking her head. "Err.... Anyways, I need help." She said, dazed and dizzy, as she put a hoof up to her head.

"Yes? What can i do?" Luna said in her booming voice, looking down at the purple mare with her intimidating eyes.

She took her hoof from her forehead and smoothed down her ruffled mane, replying swiftly. "I need you to teach me a spell that can change me back to Unicorn."

Luna's eyes sparkled, hair shimmering. "Yes, but magic has it consequences" The blue Alicoprn made her way to a nearby bookshelf and pulled out a book with her magic. Once close to her, she flipped through the pages to the right spell, then looked over her shoulder at Twilight.

"C-consequences..?" She echoed slowly, eyes now widened at the words the dark mare had spoke.

"Yes, for I, tried it. That is why I was weak and the monster took over, and I was sent to the moon" Luna shivered as the thoughts of her being Nightmare Moon filled her mind.

Twilight stared at Luna with dark disbelief, but shook her head, and urged. "I don't care! I really need it!" The spell was surely important, she couldn't let down this chance!

"As you wish" Luna closed her eyes and said it in the old Equestrian language. The guards looked around and scattered out of the room quickly.

Twilight's eyes had fear in them as the spell was cast, and she braced herself for anything that might come. She was slowly risen into the air , and binding strands of light surrounded her til' she was a blazing ball of light.

Luna's eye's opened and glowed, her voice growing louder as her horn grew purple and magenta.

The former Unicorn closed her eyes in concentration as she was lifted into the air, ducking her head. She felt as if she was concentrated, it would spread into Luna, urging the spell to work.

Luna chanted the last words and collapsed to the ground. "It is complete" she breathed deeply trying to regain her strength, tail flicking over the floor.

Hooves covering her face, Twilight peeked out from between them and rose to her hooves. "I-I have to go..." She said with a rushed voice, and raced out of the castle and into the courtyards. Currently, she didn't know if the spell had worked or not, but she didn't feel comfortable being in Canterlot's presence, so she stuck by shadows.
