Twilight woke up to the sound of a scream. She jumped out of bed. She walked out of her room and looked around, just a dark hallway. She started walking down it, but she heard a voice.
"Twiiillliiiggghhhtttt"
She froze her movements. A dark figure appeared in the shadows, But Twilight couldn't make out who it was. The figure stepped into the moonlight. Twilight shook all over, she couldn't breath.
"Are you ok?"
The figure was Nightmare Moon, her worst enemy. She had been so afraid of her, afraid of her own daughter. She couldn't take it, it was too much. Tears started forming in her eyes.
"Are you okay, Mommy?" She said in Nyx's voice, grinning a very creepy smile."Are you ok-" Her voice trailed off. Twilight looked around as the ceiling, walls, and floor were falling. She screamed as Nightmare Moon lunged at her as they fell through nothingness. Nightmare Moon caught her, and cradled her in her arms.
"I love you, mommy." she said as she smiled a genuine smile. Twilight hugged back, she shouldn't be afraid of her own daughter. "Time to wake up." She said. Twilight looked up at her daughter, she was still smiling. "Time to wake up now, wake up Mommy..."
Twilight sat up out of bed. She reubbed her eyes and yawned. He daughter was on her lap, bouncing up and down. "Time to wake up, Mommy! Time to wake up!" Twilight giggled.
"Stop bouncing and go eat breakfeast." A fimiliar voice said. Twilight froze as a white alicorn entered the room. Nyx happily went out of the room, and the white alicorn closed the door. Twilight laid her ears back and growled. "What are YOU doing here?" She asked through her clenched teeth.
Celestia looked at Twilight. "I understand that you might be angry with me, but I want to make it up to you." Twilight teleported out of bed. She lifted her hairbrush and started brushing her hair.
"You can never make it up to me. Leaving your whole kingdom to your student just so you don't have to deal with a war?" Twilight said calmly. She slammed her hairbrush down on the vanity, making the mirror crack. "SELFISH!" She yelled. Celestia stepped forward, putting her wing around Twilight. Twilight refused it, and started to open the door.
"Twilight Sparkle, do not walk out on-" The door slammed. Twilight walked down the hallway, ignoring Celestia. Shining Armor saw Twilight walking down the hall, he looked worriedly towards his sister.
"I guess you've seen her." He said, walking up to her. "Why is she here?" Twilight said, unfurling her wings. "She came back last night, Spike is back too." Twilight lit up, "Spike is back? I missed my number one assistant!" She quickly tortted down the hall, and into the dining room.
"Twilight!" A baby purple dragon got down from his chair and hugged Twilight. Twilight gave a hug back. "I've missed you, Spike. I really did." Celestia came walking down the hall. Twilight got up and sat down at the table next to Nyx, waiting for her food to arrive.
"Twilight Sparkle, I just want to talk." Celestia said, sitting down across from her. "I'd rather not talk to you." Twilight said as she watched a steamy bowl of oatmeal in front of her. Celestia had a very stern look on her face, it made Nyx feel nervous.
"Mommy, will you just talk to her?" She said, looking at her mother swallow a gulp of juice. "No. I refuse to talk to her." She put a spoonful of oatmeal in her mouth. "C'mon Twilight! She's your teacher. Just talk." Spike said with a mouthful of gemstone oatmeal. Twilight glared angrily into the eyes of Celestia.
"She is NOT my teacher anymore."
This made Celestia look surprised. "I--.. I--..." Celestia choked on tears. "I'll be in my room." She stood from the table and quickly trotted to her room. Spike glared at Twilight. "Twilight, what was that for? She comes back from fighting a war and you yell at her like that?"
Twilight watched as Spike left the table. "I'm going to got comfort her." he said before storming off. Twilight looked at Nyx. "I, uh, I think it's time for my magic lessons." Nyx said, getting down as well and walking off.
Twilight's eyes filled with tears. A hoof was placed on her shoulder, she looked behind her. "Twilight Sparkle, I thinkth you may need to talkth to her." Princess Luna said. Twilight looked at Luna. "I... I can't."
Celestia was laying on her bed, crying her eyes out. Her door opened, Spike walked in with Nyx. "Princess Celestia, we came to comfort you." Celestia smiled at the two children. They climbed on her bed and Celestia put her wings around them.
Luna entered the room. Celestia got out of bed, and went up to her sister. "I really need to talk to Twilight now. May you bring her here?" Celestia asked.
Luna looked away, "Well sister, It seems that Twilight Sparkle has left. She went to go find her friends and asked me to take care of Miss Nyx and Spike. She won't be coming back."
