Open House

"Who in tarnation is out there ‘n’ what are y’all doing here ‘round this time?" Applejack, an orange mare with a brown Stetson hat on her head and blond mane asks.

"Oh, we just came out of the apple orchard, and-" I begin. Applejack is fuming.

"What did ya do there?” she continues. “Y’all aren’t allowed t’ go in there."

"Hello-oh! I was lost in there almost all day?" Genny draws the attention to himself, rolling his eyes and flailing his hooves.

"An’ how did ye get in there?" she asks.

"Hell! If I knew that I could actually give you a proper answer!" he laughed. Applejack stares at Genny for what seems like an eternity and then looks at me.

"What about you?" she points.

"M-me? Oh, I just came to look at the apple trees… but ended up helped him-" i point at Genny "- to get out of it. True story." She eyes us both a last time before nodding and replacing her grim face with a warm welcoming one.

"Okay, I believe ya. Seems t’ be the truth. But, still. Don’t y’all have t’ be at home by now?" she asks.

"That’s the point !Rainbow promised I could stay at her place! For, a while, and Genny here has no place to stay. We are kind of… new here." She seems to be a little embarrassed and scratches the back of her head.

"Shoot! If Ah‘d known that, Ah wouldn't have thought so bad of ya. Ah guess you can stay fer the night,” she apologizes. Pointing at me, she adds. “But, what about you? Do y’all even know where Rainbow’s house is?"

"Eenope,” I laugh. “She wanted to guide me there but I guess the little talk with Twilight is already over and she is at home."

"The way is really easy! Just fly ta... do y’all know where the library is?"

"Yes!" I exclaim.

"Great! Just 2 miles east from there!” she points northwest. “Ya can`t miss it, it is very big."

"Thanks!" I turn around to Genny "I guess I see you tomorrow, then?"

"Of course!" we do a hoofbump and separate.

"Okay, now. Genny, was it? Mah name is Applejack. Wanna come in? We’re just havin’ dinner. Care to join us?" Applejack asks.

"Oh! I would love to, and it’s technically General, but you can call me Genny, if you want!” Genny explains. He turns to me. “Bye, Camo! See you tomorrow."

"Bye!" I yell behind. I wave them goodbye and take off once again, flying back into the now empty town center where the library is.

“The lights are out. Is it really that late?” I ask myself flying in the direction Applejack told me to, and, yes: A really, really big cloud is coming closer. I fly higher and, indeed, the house is almost the size of a little castle "He-he. Big ego, big house," I grin and land in front of the door. Nice feeling! Those clouds are fluffy as hell

Knocking on the door wouldn’t have made much sense, seeing as it is made out of clouds. So, hastily, I enter the house without any warning. I am now in a long floor with 3 doors and stairs to the next level. Why stairs? She could just fly to the next floor.

Shaking my head, I try the first door to my right, finding myself in the living room. A large sofa, some pictures of Rainbow being successful, a shelf full of trophies and badges, all 1st place, a carpet, As if the clouds wouldn`t be fluffy enough. and a table are surrounding me, plus chairs. All of these things made out of clouds. I can see the kitchen from here, but I am not interested right now, as I am looking for a bed to sleep in. Or something like that. After retreating out of the living room, I go upstairs and check the first door to find the bathroom with Huh? a cloud as a showerhead. I facehoof once again. I close the door and make my way to the next door. Listening at the door, I hear a calm and rhythmic breath what tells me that Rainbow already went to bed.I though she would be tougher I think, shrugging. I think the sofa is good enough.

It takes a while to drift off to sleep, given that the clouds are new to me. But, it eventually works through their softness.
