//-------------------------------------------------------// Fate Of The Spirited -by Spunkyspunks95- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Rise and shine! //-------------------------------------------------------// Rise and shine! Rise and Shine! The room was dimly lit in the cloudy hours of the afternoon. Slowly I began to open my eyes, rubbing the night filth from them as I attempted to roll off the mattress that laid in the corner of the room. "My sleeping pattern is messed up!" I grunted to myself as I yawned slightly hanging my head. Looking to my clock that hung from the flaky barley painted walls I noticed the time. Half past two and the weather was complete shit as usual! Standing up and slipping on my black jeans which had an array of tears going down the leg and studs along the black belt I usually wore, I began to ready myself for the day ahead of me. For those of you who don't know me quite yet! My name is Ryder Saxon, I know right! Such an odd name but you get what your given. I have been on this miserable Earth for 20 years and at this point in time have little in the way of prospects for the future. I have a job but I work at some fast food joint and the pay is bloody awful! Hence I am living in an old condemned office block (So far I haven't been caught inhabiting it...YET) I was never on the best terms with my parents so never really felt like a huge loss taking on the world by myself. Finally getting on my boots, spiking my hair and picking up my rucksack I set out for my usual day. Wonder about here, doss about there. And all in all just sat alone with my own thoughts...that's if I wasn't putting up with the locals. It seems where ever you go you always seem to come across some bastard who thinks it's funny to hurl abuse at you! You can either bite your tongue and ignore them or do what I usually do which is open my mouth to shout something back.. always resulting in them wanting to kick my head in. So if it wasn't a day to my thoughts it was a day of fighting, followed by drowning my sorrows in the nearest pub. I set out the back fire exit of the building, burying my hands deep into my pockets to protect them from the cold. I began to walk along the street looking at the gritty surroundings of the town before looking a head of me to which I saw in the distance a large group of yobs. "Every time! These dicks always seem to be down this road, almost as if they are waiting for me" I mumbled to myself. As I got further and further down the street the inevitable happened... "Oi nice boots you got cunt!" Shouted one of the hooded thugs. I turned my head, glancing behind me as I passed. To which I shouted back in reply "Fuckin funny aren't ya mate!" continuing along the road until *THUD* Everything went hazy and a large ringing was left in my ears till I finally realized.. (Surprise! Surprise!) The guy hit me right in the side of the head. I staggered, finally lifting my head to see the largest one of the group (Cosmo I think his name was.. What a name) standing there glaring at me about to throw another punch while his gang stood behind him talking as if they thought they were from some bloody 1992 film in a LA Ghetto. I raised my arms attempting to block the oncoming blow which I managed to absorb a bit of. Only then to throw a swing into his stomach winding him before throwing a knee to his face. At this point I realized the blood running down my head and his bloody face as he fell back. It was in this time I noticed his lackeys charging in themselves. So I turned around and began to leg it as quickly as I could down the road away from a group beating. Diving over fences and down alley ways I managed to eventually come out the other end without the extra baggage of scum following me. "Shit that was a close one!" I said to myself breathing heavily and out of breath. I looked up and wiped the blood from my head with my sleeve and continued along the road to head off to work. I never do anything to ask for these fights, I only stand my ground like I've always been told to. But where ever you go it always seems to follow you...the Hate...the violence...the anger...It only takes so much until a human being cracks. I eventually made it to a shop where I thought I'd be cheeky and buy myself a can of energy drink and a pack of cigarettes. After paying at the counter and thanking the clark I turned around to see my mate Mitch, who was standing there clutching a case of bear and smiling at me. "Alright mate! how you doing?" I said grabbing his hand to shake it. "Yeah not too bad thanks Ryder, what's up with your head!?" Said Mitch finishing the shake and pointing to the wound on my head. "Ah those group of lads down the road attacked me." I replied. "Well ain't you gonna call the police?" Asked Mitch as he paid for his drinks. "Those fucking agents of control? Naah I think not my friend." I replied remembering my hate for the police in this country. "Well you got work tonight! So you best be off soon otherwise you won't be getting that 40 pound next week" Mitch picked up his case and we both began to exit the store. I turned to Mitch shouting I'd catch him later as we both departed down the road in separate directions. "Oh yeah...work. This is going to be so fun, especially looking at all those miserable faces!" I muttered to myself in sarcasm. You see, all the people I serve at this place never seem to come in with any form of happiness or even a slight smile on their face. But I still have to smile through my teeth as well as wear some pratty uniform and pretend that I give a shit about their orders. That wasn't the worst part though, the worst part was this guy called Stuart who works there to. Just the amount of conflict that sparks between us...and there is nothing I can do since he has the manager in his pocket. Him and the manager are personal friends and go back long ago apparently. But the tormenting pain I have to put up with! The shit he throws at me on a daily basis...no more. This was the night everything changed for me. Where I let out a lot of built up anger. I arrived at work, putting on my uniform and laying down my rucksack in the bathroom stall. The grease was slick on the floor and the smell of bleach was drifting through the air from the near by cleaning bucket. After I had put on my hat I stepped out, gently closing the door behind me and leaving my bag tucked away down the side of the toilet. I set off to the front counter and it was business as usual! People rushing in to get their crap and the manager criticizing my uniform and lateness. I grabbed my till but before I could put it in the drawer...Guess who! Stuart appeared seemingly out of nowhere and tripped me up causing the rest of the staff to laugh and not even help. I glanced at the manager looking in hope that he would do something. To which he just smirked and continued sitting on his mobile phone in his office. "What's your problem?" I snapped. Stuart just gave me a horrid look and smirked as he wondered back to the grill. The time passed and it was already 8 o'clock at night and you could already smell the skank of the drink machine drains. My heart began to thump as I knew the time was coming, I turned my back and walked away from my till in the brief moment of time I had. Heading off towards the bathroom I thought to myself "Here goes nothing Ryder, no mercy..". I gulped and tried my hardest to clear my head. I grabbed the bag and began to change out of my uniform and into a black jump suit followed by Kevlar plating which I had fastened to the suit. Calming the shakes in my hands I grabbed the paint ball mask, placing it over my head and fixing it comfortably to my face. The last and only thing I needed to remove was an M9 Barretta and a collection of magazines. Start music here. Youtube Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWERYqWs5xY) I readied myself for the oncoming massacre and stormed out of the bathroom, marching down the corridor to the front. As I reached the front I kicked the door open to see the managers face as he spun around in his chair. Dropping his phone, his eyes began to widen with utter fear. It was then I aimed the pistol and pulled the trigger, pumping a round right in the left side of his chest. I fired another round in the same place before turning round and putting another round through the head of Stuart who helped give me so much of the grief over the years. The screams echoed around me at the horrible crimes I was committing. I kept moving with the sheer adrenaline pulsing through me now, as I finished off the rest of the staff and headed back to the toilets to change back into my normal clothing. Throwing my bag back over my shoulder I headed off. Back to the place I called "home". Later that night I was already back at my room, the smoke lingered in the air as I took a few drags of my cigarette. I took a swig of whiskey, laying down the glass. I began to fall deep into intense thought about what I just did. Eventually everything just came down on me... I erupted in violence "Can't you see! Can't you fucking see! You know why I did this! You all know why I did this! What did I have?! Nothing! What did I ever do to provoke all of their hostility!? Nothing! All I ever wanted was a bit of happiness! ...What have I done... ". My head dropped as tears fell down my face and looking up to see the room in a far worse state than it was already in. Smashed desks and broken shelves littered the room. I ran my hand through my hair and wiped my eyes before climbing to my feet. It was then tha-*BANG BANG BANG!*  "This is the police open up!" A voice shouted as I ran to grab my stuff. "Oh shit! This isn't happening!" I said to myself staring at the door. "Come on then!" I shouted as I began to fire off a spray of rounds at the door. Hearing yells I turned and rolled out of the window, sprinting down the street as if my life depended on it (Which it preeetty much did!) I soon arrived at another building down the road from me and in the panic I rushed to the roof. I heard the sirens surrounding me and echoing through the town accompanied by radio chatter and barking hounds. I knew there was no way out of here.. I approached the ledge and without hesitation plummeted off the side. The ground grew closer and before I knew it.. I was in utter darkness. End Music here. "I should of always known it would of ended like this haha." I chuckled realizing how strange it was that I could still speak. "So what now? Eh?" Before I could continue rambling on to myself it almost felt as if I was thrown into a pool. I was still covered in darkness but eventually saw a light which I swam towards hoping it would relieve me of this horror. The light crept closer and closer and soon. *GASP* I crawled to a bank near what looked like heavy forest, but I continued to finish my coughing before I got my bearings. I looked up at a beautiful blue sky and a world full of vibrant colors. I was baffled and couldn't even begin to get over how everything was so... Technicolored? I sat on my knees for a bit taking in what amazing things I could see, after a short while I stood up and headed for the woods. I glanced back at where I crawled out from exactly and just found a lake which reflected the sky. "Onward to civilization!" I cheered to myself only then realizing how stupid I sounded. ******** The day was beaming with sunshine and Twilight was busy at work trying to organize her library as usual. "Spike! Can you find me that book on the Everfree Forest?" called Twilight. "Urg eh.. I have it.. right here!" Replied Spike, finally dropping a huge book in front of Twilight. He looked up at her with a sheepish grin to which she just chuckled and levitated the book in front of her. "Hmmm it looks like we might need to go and look around the edge of the forest" said Twilight closing the book and setting it in it's exact place on the shelves. "The f-f-forest but you know it's dangerous right?" said Spike shaking. "I know Spike but it's only the edge of the Everfree and besides I am princess Celestia's top student, what's the worst that can happen?" ******** "Ah!" I shouted as branch whipped me in the face. "This thing seems to just keep going!" I continued till eventually I could swear I saw a town in the distance. "Looks a bit more cheery than back where I'm from at least!" I said to myself with a grin on my face. I took a few more steps till I began to hear voices not too far away from me. "Thanks for coming with me Fluttershy! If anyone knows this forest out of all of us it's you!". "Fluttershy? What on Earth has a name like that?" I said too myself quietly but I was soon going to find out. "Oh it's really nothing.. I was going out here to check on the squirrels anyways" Said another but more calmer voice. I thought to myself that I'd go see who these people were.. Till i realized.. These weren't "People" to be exact.. I ran through the bush and opened my mouth "Excuse me bu-" to be frozen in mid sentence and shocked, looking right back at me in the same frozen way was a Lavender.. UNICORN!? ...And even a Pegasus!? *Brain: A yellow one to be exact* *Me: Shh!* I just slowly and carefully began to sit on the ground, still with a shocked expression on my face and started to cuddle myself. "Wh-Wha-What are you?" Said the Lavender unicorn backing away slightly but still remaining curious. I snapped out of my state of shock for a moment to reply in a way I never thought I'd have to reply. "I'm...human" The mare stared at me for a moment. "Are you going to hurt us?" she asked with an innocent look on her face. "No of course not! If anything I should ask the same thing" I looked at them still trying to come to terms with the fact that they could talk. "Good, well we would never hurt you.. Do you have a name?" She asked stepping closer. I looked back up from the ground and replied "My name is Ryder.. What about your name? I heard one of you is called Fluttershy? I think it was" "Oh that would be me.. If you're okay with that?" asked the Pegasus, smiling slightly under her pink mane. "Yeah of course I'm okay with that, why wouldn't I be?" I said with a warm smile on my face. "Well my name is Twilight Sparkle, where did you come from exactly?" Replied Twilight as both of them became visibly more calm and walked up closer to me. I decided to relax a bit more myself and thought I'd explain myself as well as ask where i am. "Don't you have people here? Like other Humans?" I inquired. "No not at all, I can't say i have ever seen or read about anything like you before!" said Twilight. "Well where am I then?" "You're in Equestria...?" Twilight replied in an almost 'DUH' kind of way. "Well I'm not from there...I mean here..whatever." The both of them looked at me with both confusion and fascination. "So you're from another world?" Asked the Pegasus. "Well it seems to look that way right about now haha!" I chuckled and they smiled slightly at me trying to make a bit of light of the situation. "Well you should probably come back to my library, the princess will want to find out what you are for starters and there is so much I can learn here, I mean.. a NEW species!" Twilight said as she jumped with joy about that last bit. Meh what's the worst that could happen i guess. I climbed to my feet still kinda puzzled about that whole "princess" thing but carried walking towards the town. After a good few minutes of walking we were in the town. I was surrounded by Ponies! All with different colors and all with different pictures on their arses. Before I could carry on looking at all the ponies around me (Which didn't really seem too happy about what I was and that I was there) I was interrupted by Twilight "Alright! here we are Ryder". I looked up to see a MASSIVE tree which looked like someone had hollowed it out and made a home inside. "You live in a tree!?" I cried. "Yeah, pretty cool right?" said Twilight with a smile. "More than just a bit cool my dear!" I said walking inside the home. I found myself sat on a chair, which was kind of small but it wasn't too bad and I'm not going to complain about hospitality. "Fluttershy, go and tell the rest of the girls to come over they will want to see this" Twilight said in a rather serious tone over to Fluttershy. "Oh.. okay I'll be back real soon.. If that's alright?" Said the Pegasus walking out the door. "Why doesn't she fly?" I asked in confusion. "Well you see Ryder she doesn't like heights" I smiled and carried on waiting for whatever the next step was. Twilight headed towards what looked like the kitchen and shouted over "Would you like anything to drink?". I glanced around the room noticing all the well laid out books and just how amazingly made the home was. I snapped out of my trance to answer "Uh, yeah i'd love a drink thanks if that's alright?". The unicorn returned levitating a glass of water towards the table which made me fall off the small chair and kind of panic slightly. "Is everything okay?" she asked in concern. "Yeah I'm just not used to seeing....that." I gestured at the glass enveloped in a purple aura. "What? Magic?" Twilight asked almost surprised. "No you see where I'm from Magic doesn't really exist.. We just have technology really.. and whatever our laws of physics can help provide us." I then slowly began to take a few gulps of the water to only then see more magic. Twilight levitated a book towards the table accompanied by an old quill. She then began to write down notes of what I was saying. "What's that you got there?" I asked. "Oh this is going to be my book on humans" she said cheerfully as she re-dipped the quill. Time passed fairly quick and before I knew it there was a knock at the door. Suddenly everything paused and faded to black. I stood up from my chair and started to worry that I was losing this new amazing world "Please.." I said under my breath. Suddenly an old man stepped out of what looked like a door way of light and closed it behind him. "Don't worry Ryder, you aren't going to lose this. It's your opportunity. After all it is what you wanted." the old man approached me with a very peaceful and warm smile on his face. He softly rested a hand on my shoulder and I turned to look at him. "Wha-What do you mean?" I said bewildered by what was happening. "You see Ryder you have always been unhappy correct?" "Yes but i-" Before I could continue he confidently cut in "Well then here is where you will find your peace.. consider it a gift" "But why would I deserve a gift!?" I dropped to my knees and began to sob. The old man knelt down next to me "I know how you feel about what you have done...and I know you feel you don't deserve it. But you could say your time was up in that world anyways, and here is where you will find purpose...your destiny. And here is where you will find everything you seek in life". the old man smiled at me standing to his feet and slowly walked away. "Wait!" I cried, wiping my eyes and getting on my feet myself. "Where are you going? Who are you?" "Oh.. I have work to do Ryder.. A lot more souls out there with the same problems as you. And you could say I'm an Angel of death.. But in this case. Call me a friend" He smiled one last time before leaving through the blinding light of a door way and the room started to fade back to how it was, time un-paused itself and with the smile still on my face I hear Twilight call out "Come in everypony!" //-------------------------------------------------------// The Vision //-------------------------------------------------------// The Vision "The Vision" The door flung wide open, and before I knew it there was a swoop of color. I fell back onto the ground in surprise, rubbing my eyes and clambering back to my feet. The bright burning shine of  the sun hammered through the door, as two other ponies entered Twilight's front door. The first pony was orange with a blonde mane and was wearing what appeared to be... A cowboy hat? I mean...I've seen a lot of strange things in my 20 years but never thought I'd ever see a technicolor pony wearing a hat. *Sigh* I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised. After all!  I am in a whole new world! Shortly after the orange pony entered the room, she was followed by another unicorn. Which had a really beautiful white coat, and a well styled purple mane. I smiled as they entered, trying my best to look non threatening as the two creatures trotted into the room and stared at me in a stunning "awe". "Um.. Alright there! I'm Ryder!" I introduced myself, nervously tucking my shaking hands into my jean pockets. Just in time to save me, Twilight came back into the room. She was bearing a smile right across her face with a kind of 'you'll never guess what I have!' look. "Oh! It's alright girls! He isn't harmful" Twilight assured her friends, in case they might have thought I was going to eat them or something haha. The two creatures started to look more relaxed shortly after, and began to introduce themselves. "Howdy! Ma name's Applejack! And I'm the owner of Sweet Apple Acres!" Said the orange pony with a kind-hearted cheer to her voice. I grinned at her and began to relax a bit more, settling myself on the oak chair that laid behind me. "And my name dear is Rarity! The fine designer of clothing at my boutique!" Bringing a hoof to her chest as she introduced herself. I looked at the white unicorn and and began to reply to both of them when out of the corner of my eye I realized. Hovering right above me and staring at me with such magnificent magenta eyes, was a cyan blue Pegasus. I turned my head to come looking face to face with her, and noticed her rainbow mane draped down the back of her head. "And who are you?" I smiled the best I could though my mouth hung open ever so slightly with amazement. "I'm Rainbow Dash! Fastest and greatest flyer in all of Equestria!" She cried out triumphantly with such pride in herself. "What are you supposed to be exactly? And why don't you have any fur?" As she asked, she began to slow the flapping of her wings bringing her gently down to the wooden flooring which now forced me to look down on her. "Oh...well we do have fur technically...but it's just very short so it isn't easy to see." I began to kneel so she didn't get intimidated. But then again...how could she not be intimidated? A near bald, giant alien creature was knelt right in front of her and she had no idea what it could be capable of. That's why I have to do what I can to show I truly don't want to harm them...hopefully it's the same way from them haha. Rainbow Dash just smirked slightly and looked me right in the eye. "You really aren't going to hurt us though...are you?" She said with a kind of cuteness and innocents to her voice. "Of course not. Right now to be honest I am as frightened as you are!". She continued to smile as the atmosphere in the air became more relaxed. I stood and turned to reply to all of them. "It's a real pleasure to meet you Applejack! And to meet you too Rarity!" I said, kneeling back down closer to them and shaking their hooves. "The pleasure is all mine darling!" Exclaimed Rarity with an almost humble blush to her face. "Awwh shucks! Tain't no problem Ryder! It's a real pleasure to meet yah to!". I rose back to my feet once more and turned back to Twilight who was already noting down things in her new book. "What you writing down then?" I asked, pulling a seat underneath me as all the rest of the mares began to sit around the table also. "Just writing down how you have behaved so far on meeting my friends." After a good 10 minutes of casual conversation and getting to know them, Rainbow Dash spoke up and asked "What are those things on your hooves?" she stretched out with her hoof and hesitantly began to touch my fingers. I brought out my hands and laid them on the table, which caused the mares to all lean in with curiosity. Even Twilight, who found it difficult to write and lean in. "These are what we call fingers. We don't have hooves or anything like that. I suppose we have claws and fingers are one of the many things that make us a unique creature where I'm from." I began to wriggle them a bit, causing the curious mares to chuckle slightly. Must have been like a freak show to them haha! Or even a house of wonders at a fair. Time passed even more and I had already covered all I knew about the history of humanity. The sun had crept across the sky as I carried on with my tales. Ranging from different Human cultures and even how certain societies worked. I could see how this was a shock to them...their faces began to fall in a kind of sadness hearing what we have been through and yet what we cause for ourselves. "Why do you hurt each other but help at the same time? It's soo.. Confusing!" said Pinkie, bowing her head slightly in sad thought. I smirked, knowing how hard it is to truly explain this kind of stuff. They wouldn't truly understand even after I had finished explaining. They would have to have been there and lived through the years to understand. I looked around keeping eye contact with all the mares seated around me and began to explain the best I could about humanity. "You see...us Humans...we're like living walking yin-yang's." "Well what do ya mean?" Spoke Applejack, puzzled at what I mean't. "Well...we are evil by nature...but not evil...we are good by nature...but we aren't good at the same time. Us humans are very unpredictable. We Destroy, but we also create. If I have to sum us up? I guess you could call us the demons of creation." The mares stared at me with anxiousness and concern. "I would never want to cause any harm.. I just want you all to know that. If I have to assure anything, it's that I only seek a place to call home." I hung my head, beginning to worry if they would accept me or not. Twilight laid down her book, resting the quill back in it's pot of jet black ink and slowly trotted over to me. Resting a hoof on my shoulder she spoke to me in the most kindest voice I had heard in a long time. "You will always be welcome here...we can see you mean no harm and if anything you have been very kind. Consider us your friends!" In that small moment a tear started to form in my eye which I quickly wiped away before they could notice. I turned to her to see a warm smile, which caused the ice around my heart to melt...it felt almost as if a weight was lifted but only a bit.  All of them smiled and gave their own say on what they thought. "Y'all always be welcome at Sweet Apple Acres!" Chirped Applejack. "Oh! And of course you'll always have a generous friend right here!" Said Rarity elegantly. "I'll always be happy to have you around Mr. Ryder..." Said Fluttershy, smiling but still hiding under her pink mane. My head in that moment seemed to only turn to the Rainbow draped Pegasus. She looked a little embarrassed for a moment, before blurting out "Your pretty cool Ryder! And sure you'll always have me as a friend! Especially with those weird...Finggggeers..?" She struggled on the last bit bless her but none the less she quickly snapped up right and beamed a grin at me. I quickly tussled her mane playfully, when Twilight decided to finish off the moment. "See. You may have only just got here but consider yourself our responsibility." It was nice to feel as if someone cared for once. I felt like I was wrapped in a blanket of a unique kind of warmth. We spent the next hour or so just laughing and joking. Having fun, you know? Something which I hadn't had in a long time. The sun began to shift it's position and gently fall into a crimson red sunset. The mares all started to yawn and thought that they should be heading off home. "Come on everypony! We need to let Ryder get his rest" said Applejack. The girls each gave me a cuddle, before setting off home out of the oak door. "You're going to be in for a busy day tomorrow!". I was actually eating a bar of chocolate I found in my jacket pocket, luckily for me. So on Twilight's words she got a response of a stuffed mouth Ryder! "Whhhot?" Twilight turned to see me with a mouth full but she got what I said...I think. "Well I need to take you to Canterlot tomorrow to see princess Celestia. She wants to meet you to find out what you are for herself." Suddenly I grew nervous, taking a gulp and finally clearing my mouth. What if she saw me as a danger? What if she knew what I had done back home?? I didn't want to leave, I barely knew the place but the vibes I have been getting from it are enough to keep me around for awhile at least. Twilight soon noticed my face as I was rubbing my forehead with frustration. "Is anything wrong?" She asked as she approached the table. Letting out a sigh I turned "I'm just nervous is all. I didn't even know your world had a leader and now I'm about to be brought before her. It's like I'm going to meet my fate or something." She chuckled, "The princess is the most kind hearted creature in the whole of Equestria. She would never harm you! And besides I'm sure she will like you." I smiled back and scratched my head slightly. "I really hope so Twily...because if not then I feel like I'm fucked". As I stood once again, pushing the chair in. Twilight said something in a very quiet tone to me before I could start walking away. "What.. Did you just call me?" In that moment I had a bad feeling. "What.. You mean fucked?" I queried. "No...! Well yes but the first thing". She stared at me with a questioning look in her eyes. "I called you Twily...I thought it fitted you haha!" I said laughing with a sheepish grin on my mug. I felt relief once she laughed as well and replied "That's just what my brother calls me, It was just a bit of a surprise to hear you call me that is all. You'll get to meet him soon". She looked like she was in thought for a moment, but had a nice little smile on her face to accompany it. "Well it looks like it's bed time for you and me as well! You can sleep in my bed...that's if your species sleeps in beds?" I laughed before replying "We do but you can have your bed. Besides I don't think I'll be getting any sleep tonight." She dashed in front of me, jumping up at me slightly "Oh but you must! We will need you in top condition if we are going to go to Canterlot! I'll sleep on the sofa." Within a moment of having to look at that begging face full of concern I just gave in. "Alright I'll sleep but I'm just going to get some fresh air first" BUT! What I really meant was I was going to have a quick cheeky cigarette. She just smiled and showed me about her home, which was gob-smackingly beautiful and well built. She then proceeded to show me the bedroom before wishing me good night and heading off. "Finally!" I muttered under my breath with a bit of joy. *Brain: such an addict..* *Me: Piss off! I know!* I crept down the stairs and gently opened the front door, closing it behind me carefully as to not make a noise. Lucky me I remembered the pack of cigs I bought the day I...well you know. The only thing was how did it come with me? "Oh well!" I said to myself out loud as I lit the end of it and took a satisfying drag. I sat up for a good while of that night. Just drinking that drink I had with me as well and running through my thoughts about how all this was even possible. It was midnight and the moon was already in the sky, lighting up the night in it's own way. I flicked the butt of the cig away before heading back inside. There laying on the sofa freezing was Twilight. She looked like she was going to freeze to death. I scooped her up as carefully as I could and took her up stairs and laid her back in her own bed. Tucking her in I crept back out bearing a sly grin on my face. "Guess I'll be taking the sofa then!" I grabbed a blanket and headed down stairs, climbing onto the sofa and falling fast asleep. Though I was a bit big for it I managed to just get into what I called "The hedgehog position" which made sleeping on things like this easier. *** Ryder soon found himself to be dreaming of almost the same blackness as the one he saw the old man in. It felt very real and within moments he was on his feet wondering what was going on. Suddenly the old man appeared once again, stepping out of his corridor of light and closing it behind him. Ryder didn't feel as worried now, or as worried as he was last time. If anything It felt like a good sight but was still weary of what was going on. "Hello Ryder how have your first few hours of the day been in this world? I'm dreadfully sorry I didn't get you here earlier but I guess you aren't bothered about arriving in the afternoon". He chuckled and Ryder didn't really know what to do apart from smile back. "So why am I here again now?" Asked Ryder, as he approached the old man. "I'm just here to help give you some "FATE" counseling. Take a seat". Before Ryder could even say "What seat?" a desk and two chairs formed out of a bright beaming light. The both of them sat down and Ryder nodded for him to continue. "Well now...been feeling anything different since you got here?" The old man asked, slouching forward and resting his elbows on the white desk. "I've been feeling...happier? No I don't know if that's even the correct word...like...lik-" Just before Ryder could finish his sentence. "Like you're heart is warmer? Then my boy you are happy! And there's more to come than just that haha! You haven't even met the last one of the friends yet." Said the old man cutting in. "Who's the last friend?" Asked Ryder leaning forward onto the table. Suddenly the old man laid back into his chair, tenting his finger tips together. "Well let's just say she's a bit...jumpy...you'll love her though she's a fun little thing!" The old man chuckled and ran his fingers through his short white beard. Ryder became puzzled for a moment, sitting back into his chair himself "Is that it?" deadpanned asking as if he thought there was more. "Well there is something more important than just that...come closer boy..." Just then Ryder sat forward, closer and closer to the beckoning old man. In a whispered voice he spoke "In a place far from here, deep in it's mist lays a stone ruin. An unspeakable thousand years of fallen souls from all over the cosmos echo through it's halls. There...there you will find an armor...an armor to fulfill a prophecy". Before Ryder could reply the old man smirked and simply faded with only a last echoing sound of his voice, "You will know...when you see it..." *** I shot up in sweat, gasping as if I had suddenly been stabbed with an Epipen of adrenaline. My heart raced but soon came back down to a calm beat. I turned my head to gaze out of the window and saw that the sun was just rising. I let out a grunt knowing I was not getting back to sleep anytime soon. Slipping on my trousers and the rest of my tattered clothes, I reenacted the morning ritual. Twilight came down stairs with an angry glare on her face. Puzzled for a moment I then remembered why "Why did you do that!?" Shouted Twilight. "Alright calm down, calm down! I did it because you were freezing and I didn't want to see you have to deal with that". As I finished my sentence I saw her angry face drop to more of a blush. "You didn't have to do it though" spoke Twilight, gazing at the floor and tracing a hoof about it. I smiled and just sat back down on the sofa, moving the folded blanket I had slept in. "You didn't have to take me in and be my friend...but you did". She looked up at me and beamed a smile. "So what's first on our list?" I said, bring my hands down to my knees. Suddenly Twilight's horn started to glow and out came a scroll which unrolled across the entire floor. I stared with wide eyes before Twilight started on her list. "Well first off it's breakfast and then we need to go to meet Pinkie Pie at exa-" I interrupted her quickly with "Alright the short version Twilight!" I laughed. She then took up a sheepish grin and apologized "Well we are having breakfast first though...what do you want?" I felt my stomach grumble something insane! This I looked forward to! "Well you know my diet as much as it made you drop your quill...haha...so are eggs out of the question then?" I flashed a grin in hope that maybe...JUST MAYBE...I might get some eggs. Twilight lit up! "We have eggs! So that and toast?" I just nodded and got up to head for the table. Time flew by and before I knew it we had already finished our food and began to head through the streets of Ponyville. I could already feel the glares and stares of the creatures around me. Stares of fear, stares of curiosity, stares of displeasure and even stares of your old time classic...shock! I just kept my head down even though that wouldn't work for a bipedal creature roaming about the place. It wasn't too long before we were already standing at Sugar Cube Corner. I gently patted my belly and let out a small belch, covering my face with my arm so "nopony?" could notice. I noticed once again the beauty that was around me, the vibrant technicolor and the beautiful blue skies that held the scent of spring. Shortly after standing at the corner for a couple of minutes, the mares all began to show up. "Alright girls! How's it going?" I said with glee at seeing the faces of my new friends. "We're all doing pretty good Fingers." Said Rainbow Dash, with a sinister smiling grin on her face. "Fingers? That your little pet name for me now or something?" I smiled back with a cheeky smirk and folding my arms. Rainbow Dash's face started to redden for a small second "N-no! It's just funny! And true". I let out a single jolt of a chuckle, shaking my head and just continuing forward towards the building "This the place then?" Rainbow Dash began to hang her head, almost as if she thought she had upset me. I reached out my hand and like the first time I met her, I ran my fingers through and tussled her mane. Her head leaned back up with a small smile, which was met with a warm grin from me. "This is the place! Prepare to meet Pinkie Pie!" Rainbow spoke up flying to catch up with the group and answering before anyone else could. We entered the store and within an instant I was tackled down by the most insane creature I had ever came across. For a moment I even thought I was about to get raped!! The pink pony pressed her face real close to mine and blurted out a whirlwind of words. "Himynameispinkiepie! AreyouhumanoooooohIheardsomuchaboutyouandi'mreaalyreallyexcitedtofinallymeetyouan-" As quickly as I could I reached up and gently grasped her snout. "It is lovely to meet you too Pinkie Pie. I'm Ryder...now chill out and get off me! hahaha!" The creature jumped off of me and said with a huge, almost scary smile on her face still "Oooops! My bad! HEEEY!! Do you like cupcakes!?" I glanced back at Applejack with a concerned look and as if to question how I should respond. Applejack simply nodded as if to say "just say yes and she'll cool it". We were finally sitting down and eating once again! My stomach won't be able to take this but...challenge accepted! I kept on eating my muffin and explaining once again who I was and what I was but this time Pinkie was the only one it was really for. I could tell she didn't like the horrible truths about my people but how could any creature here be relaxed about it. The worst thing that could happen here would be like...an apple shortage? Glancing up from a crumb filled plate, the only thing Pinkie truly had to ask me was "Do you humans like parties?!" I just laughed and nodded my head "Yeah we love them but they aren't always great back where I'm from" considering the last party I went to was at a mate of mine's place..Jacob his name was, the only thing I can recall from that night was shaggin some girl up stairs and getting thrown out his living room window. Fun times right!? A good hour passed and though I was absolutely stuffed, I still found the smell of Pinkie's place enticing. Twilight levitating a napkin to her mouth and then dropping it to the plate, finally spoke up "Come on Ryder. Time to head to Canterlot." I looked at the rest of the girls with a stone look and waited "Sorry dear but this is for you and Twilight I'm afraid. We will see you later on! Oh and those...clothes you have on...come by the Carousel Boutique and we can measure you up for something a bit more new." said Rarity staring at my slightly damp and torn up clothes. I simply nodded, getting to my feet and heading out the store with Twilight. "See ya girls I'll catch you soon!" I said, accompanied by their returned waves and cheers of fair well. The journey was fairly long and it involved having to board a train, which was powered by ponies pulling it at the front. I'll need to try and get this world, things still don't make sense here and there. Learning experience I guess! The ride was smooth and there was still more amazing sights to witness out the window, I saw the pristine emerald green planes and even blistering deserts as far as the eye can see. We eventually pulled into the station at what Twilight said was the capital city and home to the Princess herself. We left the train and walked through the elegant city...now this place was reeeallly posh. Proper upper class ponies the creatures round here looked. We finally made it to the castle, which was massive! This thing made Windsor look like a kids play house. We walked across the bridge and headed through the castle until we reached these big main doors. Guarded by two ponies which I assumed where the Royal guard that Twily told me all about. "Alright fellas!" I said with a devilish grin on my face. They just stood there stone faced and opened the doors. "Fair enough...bored of you guys anyways." I said, thinking I was funny before heading in. In front of me stood a rather tall creature, an Alicorn with flowing multicolored hair and purple eyes. I froze up, nervous of what was about to happen. Twilight just nudged me forward and whispered "It's alright, I'm right here". I kept on carefully approaching the throne, my heart thumping inside of me like it was about to bust out. "Come closer human..." Spoke the princess with a soft, motherly tone. I finally got to the foot of the throne and stood before her, my hands shaking with nerve. "W-what can I do for you?" I asked, hoping to break the eyes in some weird way. "I know why you are here now and I know what you are like so far. My student has been informing me of your character and so far it seems you are no danger at all." Celestia spoke assuring me that it wasn't anything bad...at least I still hope it isn't. Suddenly a small purple dragon came scurrying along from another room, holding books. He walked over to Twilight and started to shove the books into her saddle bags. I got side tracked from the princess and kept on staring at the small creature. "Ryder I'd like you to meet my number one assistant, Spike." Said Twilight, leaning her head towards the dragon. Spike just traced his foot along the floor before running over and shaking my hand with a sheepish shy grin. "Nice to meet ya!" cried Spike. I continued to shake his hand and replied "And nice to meet you too. How come I haven't seen you before?" Celestia spoke up, making me shoot back 'round realizing the real reason I was there "He has been here helping me over the past few days. It has been very busy since you have arrived in our world." I felt puzzled for a moment, what did she mean by it's been busy? I looked up at the princess who was smiling down at me. "How come it's been so busy? And what do I have to do with that?" "Well Ryder, my ponies are very interested to know more about you. So we have to arrange for you to speak in front of them in Ponyville. I assume the elements of harmony have been looking after you?" When the princess finished I began to wonder to myself. Elements of harmony? "What are the Elements princess?" "The Elements are what each one of the mares you have met stand for. Twilight resembles magic, Rarity resembles generosity, Applejack stands for honesty, Pinkie pie for laughter, Fluttershy kindness and Rainbow Dash...loyalty". I stood really intrigued by what the princess had told me but soon realized there is something she still has not told me yet. "Princess is there anything else you want me to know?" The atmosphere grew still and silent, the princess turned her head slowly telling Twilight and Spike to leave for Ponyville and wait for me. Twilight just smiled at me and began to wave with her hoof before trotting away with the little dragon on her back. The doors finally closed and the princess beckoned me to stand next to her. "There is a darkness in our lands Ryder Saxon...it's nothing to do with your arrival I'm sure...but an ancient evil has returned, defeated before only returning stronger..." sounded like a bad case of thrush to me! Oh where are my manners? Please forgive your humble narrator. Princess Celestia continued to stare out of one of the many glorious windows which stood tall and along side a row of stain glassed ones. "And this evil...is there not anything I can do to help?" I asked, with my hands still held behind my back. The princess glanced at me before returning her stare to the window, smirking she replied "I'm afraid there isn't anything you can do...and it's not your place to do anything." before I could respond she had already turned around and spoke again before me. "Now go Ryder. Head back to Ponyville, you have my subjects to indulge with your presence." On that note I just nodded and said my good byes before turning to exit along the dark red carpet. I finally exited the towering castle, gazing off the bridge I was stood on and into the distance. The sky had already been soaked in a dye of golden orange as the sun began to set. It was remarkable what Pinkie Pie told me about how Celestia controls it with her magic. Truly magical this place is. Before I could carry on walking to the station I noticed something in the distance...cyan blue with a polychromatic trail...and coming in fast! I did the only instinctive thing I could think of in that moment. I dove to the floor and shouted "Take cover!" Whilst laying on the floor face down with my hands behind my head I heard hooves softly land "Umm...Ryder? Why are you on the floor?" I turned over and shot to my feet noticing Dash standing over me "Oh umm, I was just being a bit of an idiot really!" I smiled as she placed her hoof over her mouth and laughed a little bit. "Well what can I do for you anyways Dash? What you doing out here?" I saw her head cock slightly with a questioning look in her eye. "Oh so my pet name is Dash now huh?" She said, thinking she had got me back from earlier. "Bang on my dear! Or Dashie...which ever tickles my fancy at the time!" still beaming a huge smile I dragged on. Dash shook her head and jokingly replied "You ARE an Idiot! Come on I'm taking you back to Ponyville." "How are you going to take me back?!" But before I could open a debate she had already tucked her forelegs under my arms, bit down on my collar and began to lift me up. Shooting off into the air, I did what any other man would of done...I screamed...but in the good way of course! "YEAH!!! HAHA! FUCKING HELL! WOOOO!" We finally touched down in Ponyville, Dash glaring at me as if I was a twit "I have never been flown about like that before in my defense Dash!" "Whatever!" Said Dash smirking as she playfully jabbed my arm with her hoof. We started to walk together in the growing night, darkness was creeping up on us but was followed up by beaming moonlight on the town. Ponyville lit up with all it's inhabitants having their lights on and I knew once again I had another big day a head of me in the morrow. "I suppose I've got to head off now to Twilight's." I said, looking down at Dash. She looked to the ground and back up at me "Hey Ryder...can we hang out tomorrow? If your cool with that?" I thought about it but also remembered the shit I had to do the next day "I'm not sure, got a lot of things on my to do list." suddenly her face began to sink. I could see the sadness and disappointment in her magenta eyes. I quickly knelt down a little bit and placed my hand under her chin, raising her face to look at mine "Hey...don't be down Dashie. Look we'll hang alright? You can come with me to help me to the thing's I need to do as well." Her face grew full of color as I was quickly winded with a huge pony hug from the Pegasus "Thanks Ryder...I just really want to spend a bit of time with you. Get to know you for myself is all. I'll see you tomorrow then?" said Rainbow Dash letting go and stepping back. "I understand and I'd like the same thing...and yeah you'll see me tomorrow." We both smiled at each other as we both turned to go our separate ways. I glanced back at her and gave her a little wink, causing the Pegasus to blush as she took off in a huge gust of wind. All I could do was keep grinning, I couldn't get it off my face! And as I headed back to Twilight's house I just did what I did when I was back on Earth...I stared at the stars. //-------------------------------------------------------// Just Another Day! //-------------------------------------------------------// Just Another Day! Chapter 3 “Just Another Day” ************ The day began to break and the room was slowly beginning to light up as Celestia’s sun rose into it’s throne. Ryder laid on the couch of Twilight’s living room, surrounded by cases of books and knowledge. Slowly opening his eyes and stretching, Ryder let out a groan of displeasure. The light of day breaking through the curtains and piercing his eyes. Just awake enough to form coherent words he yawned “Aahh...fuckin starving.” muttered Ryder to himself, clearing his nose. He rolled off the couch, slipping on his attire and looking in the mirror to squeeze a few whiteheads off of his face. Popping the two on his face, he cheekily grinned in the mirror at himself. “Like a fine wine I get better with age” Ryder gave a light chuckle. He wiped his face of grime and proceeding upstairs to use the pony's bathroom. The bathrooms were a lot more smaller than the ones he knew from back home. They held an almost child’s play house feel. In the end it was no matter for Ryder as he didn't really have a choice. It felt weird to think of where he was and he even felt as if he had lost track of time. He stared off into thought as the water ran through his hair and dribbled down his toned but not exactly built body. The technicolor of the room and each piece of surrounding was still something his sight and mind was trying to adapt to. After drying himself, climbing back into his filthy clothes and FINALLY scoffing down the food Twilight had made for him. He jumped up out of his chair, still chewing the last piece of his food. “Catch you later Twi!” “Wait! Where you heading off to so quickly? It’s only 7 o’clock.” Ryder gave her a slight one armed hug and a pat on the head as he spun around heading for the door. “Just got a shit ton to do today! Plus I promised Dash I’d knock about with her and I’m not going to show up late.” Especially being late for Rainbow Dash, she would without a doubt give him crap for it throughout the day. After a quick but tiring sprint across Ponyville, Ryder finally reached The Carousel Boutique. Panting and trying to regain his breath, Ryder leaned on a nearby post and wiped the sweat from his brow. “Next time I think I’ll just take the shit! Where is she anyways?” Ryder looked up just as he finished his question and saw Dash racing through the air. Doing a few cool little tricks before gliding down to her hooves. “Hey! Look who decided to actually be here before me!” “Let’s be honest, you’d give me a shit ton of abuse for being late!” Ryder regained his posture and stood with his arms folded and a slight smirk on his face. Dash jabbed a hoof into his arm playfully and only joining him in the smirk “So what are we doing here?” said Dash, raising an eye and nodding towards Rarity’s shop. “We’re here because I’m dressed in clothes that...let’s be blunt! Are a pile of wank!” “Wank?” Once again Dash raised an eye before hovering beside of him. “I-it doesn't matter! It just means bad where I’m from.” Ryder scratched the back of his head realizing that the ponies aren't use to his words. They both continued inside of Rarity’s boutique, the bell rung followed by the wooden click of the door closing behind them. Before Ryder could even call out the white unicorns name, she appeared out of nowhere “Oh! Hello Ryder! Ready for your measurements?” Said Rarity, levitating a tape measure in front of her as she smiled behind her work glasses. Ryder took off his jacket and tossed it to the ground “Sure! Let’s get this sorted then.” Rarity blushed up for a moment and hesitated before opening her mouth. “I’m afraid you’re going to have to get out of those clothes first if I am to take a good proper measurement of you.” Ryder didn’t quite catch what she meant at first but after an awkward silence that lingered through the pony mannequin filled boutique, Ryder finally got it. “Oh...oooooh...you want me to...” He glanced at Dash who was already laughing on her back in mid air her wings fluttering as if it was no effort at all to keep her there. “You know what? Fuck it. It won’t bother me.” Ryder there and then stripped off, right down to his boxers and stood there with a bit of jokey like vanity in a heroic pose. Dash had already gone bright red and Rarity herself was a bit embarrassed at measuring the human’s body. trying to mind his 'horn'. “I’ll see what I can do whilst making your clothes. I understand I have to cater for that bulge you have down there.” Right then and there Ryder just shook his head and tried ever hard not to laugh. Placing his old rags back on himself he turned to Rarity “Thanks for taking my measurements Rarity. I hope it won’t be too hard to make my stuff for me.” “It’s really no problem darling! I am Generosity after all. Now go on. You and Rainbow Dash go and give me a few hours to make them.” “Alright then...I’ll catch you in a bit then.” Just as Ryder was about to continue, Rainbow swooped in front of him “C’mon! Let’s just get going! I have the PERFECT place to take you.” Dash grabbed hold of Ryder’s hand with both her hoofs and began to drag him out the door. It seemed wherever she wanted to go it was something she was excited about. The birds were singing loud and the day still held the sun high in the sky. Ryder and Dash were already walking through the green fields not too far from AJ’s place. “So...you got me to yourself now.” Ryder said, turning to her with a little wink and a grin. Dash just leaned away with an embarrassed look. “So what do you like...for fun around here?” Suddenly she perked up “I just love to fly and practice my techniques.” “What do you practice for?” “I’m going to become a Wonderbolt!” She exclaimed raising a hoof to her chest with pride. “Wonderbolt? What’s all that about?” Rainbow's face dropped suddenly, “WHAT!? The Wonderbolts are THE most AWEsomest and greatest flyers in the whole of Equestria! Only the best of the best are chosen and everypony want’s to be one.” Ryder loved seeing her enthusiasm, the shine in her magenta eyes and the happy little vain look she had on her face. “Well I’m sure you’ll do just fine in becoming one of them.” Ryder looked her in the eye with a reassuring look on his face. Her wings began to slow in flight slightly as she turned to face him “W-Well of course I’ll become one! Isn’t it obvious?”  Rainbow stuttered at Ryder's honesty and unique look he gave her. The two of them finally decide to sit underneath an apple tree that was located right to their left. They sat there, looking down across the meadows towards Ponyville and leaned back against the bark of the tree. Ryder felt what he wanted to say return to him as he rolled his head to look at Dash who was sitting comfortably on her haunches. “Your right Dash...it is obvious. But I honestly mean what I say...vanity aside.” Ryder said, smirking as he bared the cigarette between his lips and sparked it up. The cyan pegasus began to stare with curious eyes at what the human was blazing up in his mouth. “What are you doing? And why are you setting fire to that thing in your mouth?” She waved the smoke away from her face with a foreleg. “This is a cigarette, it’s not exactly good for me but I take drags of it into my lungs to help relax me and keep me calm.” Taking a drag just as he finished his sentence. “Then why the hay do it if it’s bad for you?!” Cried Dash. Ryder chuckled for a moment, breathing out the fumes before he lent his head back “Us humans do a lot of things that are bad for us. I suppose we all subconsciously have a death wish or something.” Rainbow dash placed a hoof on Ryder’s shoulder, leaning her head against him. She had almost a sad distant look in her eye just as Ryder did “Why though? I know things must suck in your world...but...but...-” Before dash could continue Ryder butted in “With my world. It has it’s ups and downs. But to truly see the hell of it all, you’d have to be there...fuck you might even have to be human in general to understand! Haha.” She looked up at him with those cute eyes that drew him in every time he fell into their gaze. “Do you ever hope to go back home?” She asked. “Home? I never really had a home. I’ll never probably go back to where I came from. And I couldn’t care. What matters Dash is that I’m here and this is my home now.” Ryder then placed an arm around her, pulling her close to him as he ran his fingers through her mane “Like that?” he said with a smirk on his face. "Yeah." Said Dash quietly as she blushed ever so slightly She let her eyes fall closed and laid into him. “I’m glad I met you Ryder.” Said Dash softly and calmly. Ryder looked quite sharply to his right down at her he gave her a squeeze before replying “I’m glad I met you Dash. You and all the rest of your friends have done nothing but treat me like I actually mean something here.” “Because you do mean something here, you’re our friend and we think you're worth caring about!” A tear drifted to Ryder’s eye for a brief moment, which he wiped away before she could notice. Stubbing the cigarette out on the tree, Ryder thought he’d change the conversation a bit “So you're quite athletic then?” Dash looked up at him noticing the sudden change of topic but decided to roll with it. “Yeah! I guess you could say I’m pretty competitive! Haha!” She itched the back of her neck with a hoof “What about you? Have I got myself a worthy opponent to pit my awesomeness against?” Dash said with a playful nudge. Ryder thought back to the past. Something he hadn’t done for a while since he had been there. He looked off into the distance for a moment as the wind blew. He turned his head and nudged back with a smile “Guess you could say I am! Though most of my competitiveness was in combat.” “You mean fighting?” Dash said, with a bit of concern in her voice. “Yeah...but play fighting isn’t bad though.” Ryder said with a little chuckle, putting a small playful fist to Dash’s side. Dash simply jabbed back at him and before she could be prepared Ryder had grabbed hold of her and began mercilessly tickling her. Rainbow only rolled around uselessly against the tree before making an attempt to fly off from Ryder’s grasp but he was too quick and strong. He eventually stopped, allowing her let out a little sigh of relief and joy “Rarity should be done with your clothes by now. We should probably get going before she whines about how late we left it.” Dash quickly swooped back into the air, taking Ryder’s hand and pulling him up. The two of them strolled across the planes and back to the boutique. The sun had just crawled across the sky and was just sitting next to the amazing city of Cloudsdale that harbored the pegasi. The door swung open and in strolled Ryder and Dash after a fun filled morning “Ryder dear! It took me a bit longer than my usual but I finally have for you a set of clothes I think you would look marvelous in!” Rarity levitated up a full set of clothes. The t-shirt was just a plain white slim fitted shirt, the trousers were simply jet black combats and as for socks and boxers they was just white. Ryder walked up to the floating attire, having it gently lowered down into his hands in a folded fashion. “Wow...you mean you made these in just under an hour or so?” “Why of course dear! Fashion is what I am best known for in Equestria.” “Well you've done a bloody decent job I must say! I just hope the boxers fit.” “Oh they will. I made sure they accommodate for everything you humans have.” Dash flew over to Ryder who was still inspecting his clothes and began to hover as she herself inspected them “Psh! Why wear something so boring? I know it’s kinda exciting since it’s human clothes and all but it just feels like you probably didn’t have much of a fashion sense back home.” “Oi! Watch yourself, you know what I’m capable of.” Ryder simply gave a wink before removing his shirt to place on the brand new one Rarity had made for him. “Besides...you’re right really I wasn't that fashionable back home. I’m what you would call a punk. So what you’d usually see me wearing would be whatever looked outrageous and annoyed people. Slashed up shirts, safety pins...you name it.” Rarity placed a hoof to her chin, pondering on what Ryder had said about his fashion status back in his old society. “Hmm that’s actually quite interesting really. So your fashion was simply to oppose what was expected and what was popular?” “Yeah pretty much! Individualism. That’s what it all comes down to and it’s one of your last forms of freedom back where I came from.” Right before either Rarity or Dash could reply, Ryder had began to take his trousers off and prepare his combats and boxers “Wait!”  Rainbow Dash swooped through the air and began to push Ryder along towards the nearby bathroom “Get changed in here. Makes things kinda less...awkward heh!” ********* Meanwhile in Canterlot castle... Celestia stood staring off into the far distance as she had found herself doing it so often recently. The double set of doors behind her slowly swung open and in trotted her sister and ruler of the night, Princess Luna. “My sister I am hear to talk of this human that hath been walking our world.” Celestia turned to to face Luna, curious and yet expecting of what the Night alicorn had to say. “What is it my sister? What issue with our Alien guest do you have?” “There isn’t an Issue. I simply must ask of thou...is there really no connection between his arrival and the recent growing darkness in the lands?” Celestia turned away with a pained look on her face. She started to pace up and down the stain glassed hall in thought. Delaying her reply. “Alright Luna. There is a connection. I am not sure weather it is something that is either a threat to him or a greater threat to my ponies.” Luna took a few steps forward and raised a hoof before she spoke. “But sister. He is with the Elements of Harmony. Surely they will be able to keep him safe or even deal with him if he is to be the problem.” “Perhaps Luna...perhaps...all we know is that something is coming and we have to be ready.” ******* “Christ! For a bunch of naked creatures they sure still have a strong belief in modesty!” After the door had closed behind me I carried on getting changed, slipping on the boxers which actually fitted PERFECTLY! ...In all the right places *Cough*. Straight after that it was the combats and then lacing my boots back up. I rushed them before Dash started to get impatient with how long I was taking in here. On opening the door I wasn’t surprised to see Dash already fluttering in front of me with a slightly pissed off look on her face and both her forelegs crossed. “What took you so long!? No one takes that long in a bathroom Ryder!” “Hey! Do you have any idea how long it takes to lace up these boots?” I pointed down at the many eyelets the boots bared. Without anymore said she just simply sighed followed by “Whatever, let’s just go and enjoy the rest of the day before you have your little ceremony.” I simply nodded and headed off towards the door next to the cyan pegasus. But before I could leave Rarity spoke up “Oh and don’t forget dear! Applejack said she needs you at her ranch after the ceremony.” I responded with another simple non-verbal answer by sticking my thumb up. Later on after leaving Rarity’s place we just did little but fun things since I can’t fly so I wasn’t much of a competition for Dash’s competitiveness. We went into Ponyville and got something to eat and once again I was fussy. Well wouldn’t you be if someone...I mean somepony stuck a sandwich in front of you with dandelions in? Luckily for me I managed to get myself something I could enjoy. Just lots and lots of cookies. Me and Dash kept on having back and forth bits of what I could only call banter. She was a funny little thing and I couldn’t wrap my head around what made her so great to be around. Was it her vanity? Was it how accepting her and the others were? Whatever it is she just made me feel as if I could for once in my life enjoy myself. I do worry sometimes that maybe I’m not that fun to be around when it comes to what she thinks. But then again why would she invite me out otherwise? Guess I’m just a silly sod sometimes. We were walking down the highstreet of Ponyville to where someone called the Mayor Mare was. It was only about 15 minutes before my speech to the town and I was a little bit nervous I have to say. "Hey...hey! Are you listening?” “Huh!?” I snapped out of my daydream for a moment to catch what Dash was trying to say. “I said, have you enjoyed yourself today? I mean like with just me and you chillin.” She itched the back of her neck with her hoof and rolled her eyes back slightly as if to look away while asking. “Well of course I enjoyed myself. It's been pretty cool so far.” Dashes eyes widened on my reply. “REALLY!?” She flew right in my face holding her hooves together and grinning a wide smile. “Yeah really! Now cool it will ya!?” I said placing my hands on her shoulders. “Hehe sorry. I know you had fun anyways! You were with me and nothing says a cool day then being with the coolest mare in Equestria.” I just smiled and gently patted my hand on her shoulder “Yeah just don’t get too cocky Dash! haha!” Before I knew it the time had already flown by and there was masses of different colored ponies forming around the foot of the stage. “Knock 'em dead Ryder!” Said Rainbow as I glanced back behind me. The mayor approached the podium and began to speak loudly to her ponies “Hello Ponyville! I am proud to present to you Equestria’s newest addition. A human being! Come on up! And tell all of us about yourself!” Right then the air stood silent as I approached the podium after the mayor backed off. The small faces that stood below me in shock and waited on my word “Um...hello there. My name is Ryder and...as you can see I am indeed a human being. I won’t hurt any of you. If there’s anything I couldn’t stress more it’s that. Please give me a chance. And I promise you won’t be disappointed by my efforts. I don’t know how long I’m going to be here for and to be honest I don’t think I will be leaving at all. But if you should have any questi-...” Right there tonnes of hooves shot up and I had to skim through the sea of questions. “Ah yes you right there!” I said, pointing down to a mint green pony with a lyre on her flank. Her face lit up as she nudged her way to the front “What’s it like to be here compared to your world?” “Well my world isn’t exactly anything you lot need to ever see for yourselves. It’s the kind of place that can break your spirit before it destroys you.” at my rather mood killing words the crowd lowered their heads a bit in what they heard. All except the mint pony. “I’m sorry if that’s not what you expected to hear my little friend.” I leaned down showing signs of regret on my face. “It’s alright. I kind of expected you to say that to be honest.” Said the mint pony. I leaned back up and just gave her a reassuring smile “Anyone else?” Once again the sea of hooves returned and I had chosen what looked to be a unicorn with awesome blue hair and purple shades “What kinda music do you humans like? If you have music that is...” She finished that last bit with a big grin. I thought for a little bit and remembered that I had my Ipod on me. Not sure if they would like my music but here goes. I pulled out my Ipod “Anywhere I could hook this up maybe?” After a minute or so of hooking it up to what tech they had for speakers, I soon rolled through the songs I had and chose one I thought was pretty good. Youtube Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niaIRGZFMdU) Soon after it played for a few seconds, The ponies all looked amazed by something so different and aggressive. To think they wouldn't imagine music like that here. I stopped the music after a bit and then continued to talk to the white unicorn “So...what do you think?” She kept on smiling and nodded “Pretty hardcore!” I was surprised she liked it really but hey! I’m not complaining! Good taste my small friend. “Well that’s great, you like my music and I love your mane!” I followed with a cheeky wink and jig before returning to the podium. The prat I make of myself at times haha. A good two hours or so passed and I answered every question I could. Even ones I had answered already here. Some made their faces go to shock and even questions about human anatomies and sex really and I mean REALLY made their faces go red. Even after the hours had passed there was still a constant stream questions being hurled at me. The mayor luckily stepped in and ended the ceremony. “Okay that’s enough everypony! If you wish to know anything else ask him in your own time.” Thank god for that. ***** Ryder walked across the stage and exited out the back, allowing the mayor to finish off talking to the ponies that gathered. “So how was I?” Asked Ryder. “Well...you definitely knocked them dead.” Said Dash with a blush, referencing back to the sexual questions he had to answer “But otherwise! You did great!” “You really think so Dash?” They both began to head for AJ’s house, Rainbow Dash hovered beside him all the way there. “I know so! Look I may be the coolest pony in Equestria. But you’re the coolest human.” She smiled at him with slightly narrowed eyes, bumping his shoulder with her hoof. “Dash, I’m the ONLY human here haha.” “That still doesn't change what I believe Ryder.” Dash spoke that time in a gentle voice. Ryder noticed the off tone he wasn't use to hearing from the pegasus and came to a halt. “Are you alright Dash?” Spoke Ryder himself in a more calmer but concerned tone. “Yeah...look let’s just go to AJ’s! You’re going to love what she has for you!” Dash pushed behind him towards the direction of Applejack's home as she flapped her wings. They soon made it to AJ’s home, making their way through the apple orchids. Dash nudged Ryder to head on in first. The door was already slightly open and he could already sense something wasn’t right. As he pushed open the door slowly and stepped into the darkness he was then blinded. *CLICK* “SURPRISE!!!” He was greeted by a room full of ponies. Twilight and even spike the dragon was there. Of course AJ was there but he was more alerted of Pinkie Pie's presence after being hit in the face with her party cannon. He climbed to his feet still smiling after being hit with the cannon. “Is this for me?” Said Ryder, his mouth hung open at what was going on. Pinkie had already jumped in his face and bombarded him with her answer “YEP! Since you’re new here and a new friend we thought we would throw you...A...PAAARRTY!!!” “Cool it Pinkie!” Shouted Dash at the loud pink and hyper pony. Twilight and spike then approached Ryder giving him a piece of cake and a glass of punch. “Hope you enjoy the party Mr!” cheered spike. “Haha just call me Ryder. You don’t need to be formal with me.” Spike just smiled sheepishly before running off to where Rarity was (Obvious reasons) “And you Twilight...you knew all along didn't you?” Ryder smirked and folded his arms at her. She just blushed a bit and bared a smug little smile “Of course! It was my Idea to do something for you in the first place...well Pinkie’s too...okay it was everypony's!” “Well thanks a bunch Twilight, I really appreciate it.” Ryder smiled and took a swig of the punch which tasted beautiful. He loved sweet drinks in general so a drink like that was orgasmic for him. “Well enjoy the party Ryder!” Just as Twilight finished a record player’s pin dropped and music started to play. The night went on and everyone danced, drank, ate and laughed. Ryder never had so much fun in his whole life. And it completely blew every party he had put up with at home out the window. Eventually the night began to slow. Ponies had either gone home or if you were Pinkie Pie you were asleep on the floor of AJ’s living room. Ryder and Dash were sitting on the porch outside in the star lit night. Luna’s moon sat bright in the sky and drowned the apple orchids in a silver glow. Then AJ herself came outside “Well! I’m off tuh bed now. You and Rainbow Dash just make yerselves at home you hear! Let me know if ya’ll need anything.” “Thanks AJ! Have a good night.” Said Ryder smiling warmly at her from the steps. “You too sugar cube.” She then headed off to bed leaving the human and the pegasus alone in the night. “So you had a good time Dash?” Said Ryder, stretching his arms and back. “Yeah, best party I've been to in a while. Pinkie sure knows how to throw 'em.” They both gave weak laughs before just sitting in silence and gawking at the nights sky. Ryder reached his arm out as slowly as he could, hoping not to spook Dash and began to run his fingers through her mane and down her neck. She let out a little wince as if she was going to ask what he was doing. But she silenced herself and allowed her magenta eyes to sink shut and enjoy the pleasure of the humans extremities “Why do you do this?” Uttered Dash. “Because I know you like it. And if I can make you happy, or nearly as happy as you have made me feel. Then I will.” His hand came to rest on her back as she opened her eyes and smiled at him with wide eyes. He just returned the smile. “So what’s it like to live in Cloudsdale?” “Huh? Oh! It’s alright, where most pegasi live for their young lives. It also holds the weather patrol headquarters.” “Would be an awesome sight to see I’m sure.” Said Ryder removing his hand and adjusting his position. “Would be great if you could come to my home sometime but...” “But...?” Ryder became puzzled at her quick halt. Before he could ask if she was alright she snapped out of it and blurted out “I have to go Ryder, I’m going to have another surprise for you tomorrow!” She quickly nuzzled him with a hug and took off leaving nothing but a gust of wind behind her. Ryder just laid back on the porch. Confused and in thought about what she was even on about. But I guess all he would have to do is wait until tomorrow. ***** Later that night I was awoken by a strange voice. It whispered to me calling me to come closer and closer. As I sat up to look for what it was all I could see was a thick cloud of mist that coated the orchid. “Hello!?” I climbed to my feet and began to follow the voice. I followed it for what felt like hours. The night was still around me and the mist still was thick. That was until I found myself in the Everfree forest. The mist cleared slightly to reveal a large ruin that laid in front of me. It was...familiar. Where could I have seen this before? Then it hit me. “The old man.” I mumbled to myself. I headed for the entrance of the moss coated ruin. There were so many carvings on the walls. But I couldn't make out what was carvings or what was cracks. The voices still danced gently through the air. I could only press onward down the halls of the ruin. Further and further into the darkness until I found myself in a large dim room. Right in front of me was a stand...an alter almost. The moonlight shone through a hole in the ceiling as if to light it up purposely. I walked up the the altar and what I found on it was the very items the old man told me about. I swept my hand over it and uncovered the artifacts from the dust. What laid before me was the armor. A jumpsuit like outfit that was clad in well placed plates of dark red steel. I began to suit myself up in it. To try it on and see if it would fit and oddly enough...it fit me like a glove...like it was made for me. What laid next to where the armor laid was a full faced helmet as well. It bared a visor that almost resembled the Mandolorian T and even that slipped over my head perfectly. I could see out of it just fine and even itself was unique. It was black and red and on the top of the helmet it had the Trojan Mohawk which I remembered seeing in those films at home. Moving my body around in what felt like a second skin to me I finally noticed one final thing that was stuck in a stone slot between where both parts of the armor laid. It was a hilt, and with a two handed grip on it I yanked it straight from the altar. What slept in my hand now was a long sword that sported a silver blade engraved with glowing cyan blue patterns. Even the long swords blade gave off a hum. I then sheathed the blade in it’s rightful place at my side before I heard the voice again. This time it was louder and I could hear it. “Take this skin, take this blade. Fight for those whose memory shan't fade. Born and chosen from beyond the stars. Born in pain and lived in shame, Only you can break the chains.” The voice finally began to fade and I was still left confused. The words repeating themselves in my head like a bad song. But grabbing my gear I thought it would be best to head back to AJ’s and just get some sleep. //-------------------------------------------------------// My sword, My shield, My redemption //-------------------------------------------------------// My sword, My shield, My redemption                                                                              Chapter 4                                                          "My sword, My shield, My redemption"                                                                         By Spunkyspunks95 (If the dialog has # either side, it means the protagonist is talking through the device in his helm that projects his voice.) Ryder awoke in the soft warm bed of Applejack's place that he'd been given. As always Celestia's sun would beam through the window, hitting the lids of his eyes and causing him to groan. Ryder then remembered as he opened his eyes slightly, about the strange but also wonderful night before. Glancing over at his side, his eyes fell on the armor, the helm and the blade that didn't move from the corner of the room, that he propped them up in before he slept. Good, it's still there, Ryder thought to himself, as he pulled his tired weight from the mattress. He gathered up his equipment, placing it in a bag. After a minute or so of gazing into the mirror and messing with his spiky jet black hair, he slung the bag over his shoulder and headed down for Breakfast. Applejack had already been cooking up a storm in the kitchen for her guest and had the table laid out with a feast of delicious treats. "Morning AJ!" Chirped Ryder, dropping the bag to the ground and pulling up a seat at the table. "Mornin Sugercube! Yah get sum good rest?" "Yeah I did thank's. It's nice to be able to wake up after a party, without a hangover for once." The orange Earth pony raised an eye brow of confusion. "Hangover? What's that?" The human just shook his head at her question, causing her to shrug and turn the tide of the conversation towards the delicious food before him. "So what do yah think of the breakfast?" Ryder promptly took hold of a knife and fork, and began to load a plate up of apple fritters and apple tarts. "The food looks amazing AJ. Why all this effort?" Said Ryder biting into the tart, "It even tastes lush!" Applejack just giggled to herself a little bit "Well You're a guest Ryder! Nothin' better than cookin' up some of the families best recipes." After a good 5 minutes of silence, with nothing but the sound of the human scoffing down the food. A filly entered the room wearing a big bow in her mane. She was rubbing her eyes with her forehoof, before she headed into the kitchen and took a seat. Ryder's eyes finally arose from his plate, that was now just bearing crumbs. Applejack pointed a foreleg at the filly, "This here is ma little sister Applebloom. Ah don't think ya met her yet." Applebloom looked at the human with a sort of puzzled curiosity on her muzzle. "Well nice to meet you darlin!" Ryder held out his hand, trying to be as friendly and non-intimidating as possible. To his fortune she suddenly beamed a smile at him and met his open hand with her little yellow hoof. "Nice tah meet yah! What are yah exactly?" She released his shake, going back into her puzzled look. Ryder still wasn't use to having to explain what he was exactly, but it just came hand in hand with being in a whole new universe. Ryder sat forwards in his chair, flashing a calm smirk at the young filly. "I'm a Human, but you can call me Ryder. Oh! and don't worry I really don't mean you any harm." The filly smiled back at him, sensing truth in his words. Ryder then took a quick look at the time, launching to his feet and slinging the bag back over his shoulder. "Where yah goin' in such a hurry?" Said Applejack. "I'm sorry to leave you two, but i'v got a long day a head of me as always. Thanks for the food AJ, it really was as good as it looked!" He flashed her a smile, which left the earth pony blushing slightly and patted the younger sister on the head. "Well ah suppose i'll need to get Applebloom to school soon. Even after that there's an apple tree or two that needs buckin'." With that said, Ryder said his farewells and set off clutching the bag over his shoulder. He didn't really have anything to do that day, so what a better time to take a look at the equipment he found last night. He headed off in the direction of the Everfree forest, thinking about how secluded is was, perfect for what he was eager to do. At the same time he could always pop in to Fluttershy's and say hello to the shy mare for a bit. It would be rude not to since he was in the neighborhood and all. The journey to the forest was relaxing. The gentle breeze caressed Ryder's skin as he gazed up at the blue sky, that blanketed above him. He noticed the odd cloud or two that was being taken care of by the local Pegasi. So other than that it was clear that it was going to be nice out for the rest of the day. Ryder soon found himself in a nice private area of the woods. No one seemed to be around, leaving him alone with his equipment and only the company of the creatures around him. This.. This doesn't seem possible.. The old man keeps on saying i'm important or something. But.. But why am I. As Ryder's thoughts raced through his head, he undid the bag which revealed the armor. He placed it on and as it did the last time, it fitted perfectly. Gripping the blade which seemed to glow with a blue aura, he started to practice his movements. Both in the slashing of the sword and how well he could move in general in the armor. He spent the next few hours climbing different tree's, jumping from trunk to trunk before diving to the earth, flailing his blade in increasingly swift movements. This was his intention to try and build up his agility and stamina. There was something he couldn't quite put his finger on though. Ever since he found the armor and the blade, he'd been feeling an overwhelming feeling. Like something had been awoken inside of him, his blood flowed through him, pulsing with each heartbeat, and each heartbeat had become an odd sensation. Everything just seemed like it was bettering itself, after he had heard those whispering words, that poem in the tomb. Ryder soon thought to himself after landing to his feet, I need to go back there! I must look into what did this. He began to head in the direction of the tombs last known whereabouts, but as he finally stepped through into the opening, he saw nothing. The place had completely vanished, leaving nothing but a grass less patch on the ground, as if nothing had grown there for years. He sat down on a near by log, placing his head in his hands in hope to recollect himself. But after a matter of minutes a familiar friend had crept up on him. "H-Hello there mr. Ryder..." "Gah! Fuck!" Ryder had jumped up off of the log, placing his hand on his chest and breathing heavily. "Oh.. Haha! It's only you Fluttershy.. You scared me a little." The Pegasus herself had yelped at his sudden jolt of fear, leaving her now hiding behind a tree. Ryder beckoned for her to come out, kneeling down on one leg and smiling at her warmly. Fluttershy soon after coming out to face him, opened her mouth hesitantly. "I was wondering what you was doing out here all by yourself.. The forest can be awfully dangerous.. If you don't mind me saying." She bowed her head down slightly at that last statement. "I could never imagine Equestria to be the slightest bit dangerous, in all the time I have been here Fluttershy. It seems to be just rainbows and happiness here." As Ryder finished, curling his mouth into a smug careless smile, he then noticed a chill in the air. "Umm Fluttershy.. Are you okay?" The Pegasus was frozen, looking directly at him. Until Ryder soon found she wasn't looking at him. Ryder's heart began to thump as hard as possible in his chest, creating the feeling it was about to bust on out of him. He slowly but surely turned his gaze behind him, to notice something that would make a grown man urinate himself. Standing a good few feet above him was a monster he had only read about... until now. He stared at it for a brief moment before it opened it's mouth and let out an ungodly roar. "M-m-MANTICORE!!!" Cried Fluttershy racing back behind the tree. "Shhi-" Before Ryder could even curse he was swatted like a bug across the area, colliding into a tree. He lifted his head and clambered to his feet, slipping the helmet that hung at his side, back over his head. The creature seemed focused on Fluttershy, who was already hiding up at the top of the tree. She wailed cries of help as the creature slammed on the bark of the tree. Shit, shit shit! What do I do? Ryder thought in his panic. "#Oh right! The sword!#" He lowered his hand to his side, slowly unsheathing the blade. The blade began it's steady saber like hum, as it came into contact with the air. Gripping it in his hands, in the best stance he knew so far of practicing, he took a deep breath and mumbled to himself, "#Here goes nothing.#" He charged the beast with pure focus and aggression, bringing his blade down, cutting through the air and slashing through the skin of the Manticore's side. It let out a high pitched roar of agony, smoke like blood lingered out of it's open wound. Turning to swipe again at Ryder, who had already evaded it's attack. He brought down the blade once again. He swished through it's joints, completely removing the creatures back legs. It collapsed to the floor, it's stinger flailing, attempting to hit Ryder, who was diving out of it's reach. The blade had almost burned the creatures wounds shut as it cut, leaving smoke lingering from it's stumps. He took a steady step back, angling the blade to completely remove the stinger, which stabbed close to Ryder's feet. *SWOOSH* It's stinger laid a good few meters away from it's body, still flailing though it had no control anymore. The creature let out a single whine, before it was silenced. Ryder bought down the pummel directly on the back of it's neck, creating a loud crack before a strong silence. The creature was dead and it's body now laid lifeless on the floor of the Everfree. He breathed heavily, staring down at the corpse. His blade sheathed back to his side and he slowly lifted the helm from his head. He finally turned his glance to the whimpering mare in the tree. "It's safe to come down now Flutters.. Honestly." She slowly but surely made her way down from the tree top, sitting at his side before the beasts smoking corpse. He began to rub his eyes in an almost frustrated manner, before turning his head to the mare at his side. "Are you alright?" She nodded still shocked at what had just happened, but more importantly at what the human was capable of. He ran his gloved hand down her back, reassuring her that it was all okay. The mare stuttered a little bit before finally speaking up, "You.. You saved me.. I didn't want to see any creature get hurt like this. But you saved me." "It's no problem, the beast had to be slain. I'm not about to let my friend get ripped to pieces by that thing." Ryder gritted his teeth, calming himself to a large sigh. They could already hear the tranquility of the forest return, the singing of the birds around them and the gentle swaying of the leafs. "Look.. Let's head back to yours alright? I'll make you a cup of tea the way it's made where i'm from." He flashed a smile at her, which she took in well and nodded. "Well you go on ahead, i'll catch up in a second." The Pegasus began to hover slightly, heading off toward the direction of her cottage. He gazed at the beasts fallen form and at the wounds he had created. Moment's passed, and Ryder broke his stare from the corpse. Walking off in the direction Fluttershy went. The two were now sitting down in Fluttershy's living room. Ryder had already brewed up two cups of tea the way an Englishman makes it and by the sounds of it, Fluttershy was enjoying it. The two sat and talked, time passed idly as topics ranging from what animals there were back on Earth to what the gear he had was. Ryder took a few more rather loud slurps of his tea, setting the mug on the table. He looked back to Fluttershy, realizing how much time had passed since they got back to hers. "Sorry Fluttershy, I really should head off. I'v been here so long I lost track of time. It's already 5 pm." The Pegasus bowed her head slightly in disappointment before looking back up with a thankful smile on her face. "I-It's fine.. I should really feed angel bunny before he get's a bit grouchy." Looking down, Ryder noticed a white rabbit that looked a little pissed off. It gave him a glaring look, causing Ryder to frown at it. "Yeah, good luck with that one!" Ryder smiled to her, climbed to his feet and slowly walked to the door. "R-Ryder?" The quite voice caused him to halt in his tracks, holding the door half open. "Thank you again for saving me..." Ryder glanced back giving a little wink, then proceeded to be on his way. He finally got home that night. Back at Twilight's tree house. She had laid out a spectacular dinner for him of something she knew he could eat and would like in Equestria. FISH! They spent the night laughing and stuffing themselves with the feast. So far that had been the best night Ryder had with her. He had to be honest in the end though, he told her all about what happened that day. Even about the armor and what he could tell her of the night before. Twilight look completely baffled by what he had told her. But there was just something about what he was telling her that just made her hold on to every word he said. She couldn't disbelieve him, though this was something she would of never expected to happen. "So you're telling me that you saved Fluttershy? That you KILLED a Manticore?" Twilight raised an eye brow on her words. Ryder set down his knife and fork and wiped his mouth. "Yes, I wouldn't lie to you. You've done nothing but show me kindness since I got here. I consider you a friend as much as you probably consider me one." Twilight smiled at him, lowering her head with a smile on her face. "I couldn't let anything happen to you girls, that's why I did what I did. If I didn't act, Fluttershy would of been hurt." Twilight let out a sigh, raising her head back for her sight to meet Ryder. "I'm just glad that you're both okay, it's just hard to take in is all." Ryder turned his head, remembering that Spike was also sitting there. He looked so fascinated by what Ryder had been saying. It was like a child listening to mighty stories of Knight's slaying beasts. All he could do was smile at the small purple dragon, letting out a huge yawn before wiping his eyes. "Well someone's tired! I think you should head up to bed.. Hero." Twilight gave a wink. "You all head up first, i'm going to wash up. It's the least I can do since you managed to find me some meat here." Ryder began to wash up, before heading up stairs and snuggling up in his new bed that Twilight had spike put together. It really was comfortable. Much more comforting than the sofa anyways. Ryder bought the cover even further up his body, engulfing him in a soft cotton ball of pure relaxation. Twilight and Spike eventually came up. Spiked climbed into his little bed and Twilight got in hers. Ryder could almost feel her stare on him from her side of the room. To which he mumbles from beneath the blanket "Good night Twilight, I owe you a great deal.. I honestly do." Ryder suddenly heard a little thud and before he knew it, Twilight had climbed into his bed and was about this time now, embracing him with her small purple hooves. No words were even uttered. They just sat there in the blissful silence of the room at night. The bliss of the tree houses heat, and the bliss of just feeling loved and accepted for once.
