Chapter 1 Its Really Strange What You Can Find In A Forest

Fluttershy was trotting in the around to the backyard, to feed her chickens. Normal day. She looked for the seed around the coop, but when she found it there weren't any more herbal ingredients left. "Hm, that's strange. I almost never run out of the herbs. But thats okay I guess, I mean theres always some in the *Gulp* Ev-Everfree forest I guess..." She said to herself. And it was strange. Normally, Applejack would give her the herbs. But AJ was out of town which meant she had to go into the forest.

"I'm sorry chickens, I have to find more herbs for your mix. I'll be back very soon though. Don't worry, it shouldn't take long at all." The Butter coated pony said to her chickens.

Anyway, why would it take long? The Everfree forest is right near her house. She doesn't like it in there, but she has to go in to get the herbs. She trotted inside and got ready.

Alright, she thought to herself, I think I'm ready. But I have to make sure all my animal friends are okay. I hope nothing happens to them while I'm gone.\

She checked on her animals, nothing seemed to be wrong. She got on her saddle bag and trotted into the forest. But right before she got in, she made sure that everyone was okay, again. And did it for a least 12 times. On the 12th time, Angel just pushed her out and locked the door.

"Okay, here we go..." She muttered to herself. She walked slowly in the forest. It wasn't as bad as she pictured it to be. It was fairly light inside the forest. Which was very strange because usually it's very very dark. But she was glad it was light, it was very easier to see. She looked around, She wasn't able to find the herb. Trotting more into it, she found it getting lighter. Am I getting to the other side already? That was quick. She kept trotting peacefully then bumped into something. "Huh?!?" She fell over and so did the other thing.

"Who are you?" They both said a the same time. "I'm Fluttershy, and who are you??" she answered "Soarin. The wonderbolt." Soarin answered. "SOARIN??" "Yep, Im Soarin. Wait. Fluttershy? Aren't you Um, Rainbow Dashes PFF or something?" "Um, yes I am." "Wow.. Never thought I would see almost any of you guys ever again, after the Gala." "Yeah.. Pretty low chance you would." The both laughed. "But wait." Fluttershy asked "Why are you here, in the forest?" "Um.. No reason I just um..." Soarin tried to reply "It's just.. I Can ask you the same! What are YOU doing here?" " I asked first!" "I asked second. Great we know numbers so anyway why are you in here?" "I have to pick up some herbs for the chicken feed... Now how about you... What are you doing here!" "FINE! I came here because I'm running away." "From what?" "From the Wonderbolts." "Why?" "Because I never get to make any friends that I can keep in touch with and I can never get a Very Special Somepony and it's just.. UGH! It's hard.." Fluttershy stared at him. That is a lot to have on your chest. "Well... that IS a lot. I would run away if that happened to me." "Yeah. Your like the only pony who gets my point! All the others just say why would you want to give up being in the wonderbolts?? Or When did you go insane?" "So others said those things? I swear the things ponies say these days, it's just awful!" "Especially when they're saying it to you." They both laughed again.

I cant believe it! He's so much like me. Maybe I could let him stay in my house for a while.I mean it couldn't hurt right? "So Fluttershy, How do ponies treat you?" Soarin asked. Flutters had no idea! She never paid much attention on how they treated her. "Well, fine I guess. Nothing they say or do makes me feel...Strange so I'm saying fairly well." She replied. "Your lucky my friend. All the ponies treat me like crap." "*GASP* SOARIN SUCH LANGUAGE!" "I'm sorry. I'm just in that mood where you want to punch a tree and if you do it'll probably fall down." "Thats a strange way to put it. Hey do you have a place to crash?" "Well, No this is my first day and I really haven't thought about it so in other words, no." "Your always welcome to stay at my cottage if you'd like!" "Sure! But I must warn you, I snore." "Please thats nothing." They giggled, again.

They were walking in the forest. Mainly chatting. Wow.. Who would've thought Rainbow dashes friend would be so much different than her! It's kind of scary. "Earth to Soarin." Fluttershy said waving her hoof in his face "What?" he replied, "I have the herbs, Lets go." "Oh okay."

The walk back was much less scarier then the walk to there. It was almost 3:00 and she was getting hungry. But the exit was still far far away. After a while, they got bored of walking so they sat down on rocks by a stream. It wasn't very comfortable, but it was okay.

"So anywa-OOH!"SPLASH! Soarin fell into the river. Fluttershy laughed her head off. "Is it nice in there?" "Very." Soarin did the backstroke. "Well then thats good." Fluttershy rested her head. Soarin Sneakily grabbed her hoof and pulled her in. "GAHH!!" She screamed and fell in. Soarin laughed his lungs out. "Your right that is funny!" Fluttershy laughed also. "I Told you it was hysterical!" She splashed some water on him. He splashed back. She did a huge splash and swam fast. He swam up to her and wrapped his hooves around her. She looked at him and he took his hooves off of her an flew up. She did the same. In the air they both blushed. "C-Come on we can just fly out of here." She said still blushing "U-Um yeah over there heh." Soarin said as he followed her.

When they were flying, it was quiet between the two of them. Nothing really to happen. "Look, Fluttershy I'm sorry. It was something bad to do, knowing we had only officially met a couple hours ago. But it was just, I don't feel that way, but it was just in that moment and-" Soarin tried to say. "Soarin, It's okay it was mistake. I'm fine I never hold a grudge. It's okay." Fluttershy said reassuring Soarins thoughts. "Hey lets just tal-" Fluttershy tried to speak but Soarin but his hoof over her mouth. "Be very quiet." Soarin flew down. "What was there?" Fluttershy asked "Um, It was a mantcore. Fluttershy? What are you doing??" "I'm going to go talk to it." "NO!" Soarin jumped on her. "Dont go out there." "Why not? And get off me!" "Its Really bad dont go!""I bet I can reason with it." "Fluttershy, ARE YOU INSANE! DONT DO IT!" "FINE! I wont go out there." The Mantacore roared. Soarin was in a corner in a ball crying.

Fluttershy rolled her eyes. "This would be so much easier if you would let me go out there." "So cold....So cold..." "Stop being a baby and let auntie Fluttershy take care of this." "I-I'm a year older than you." After that comment Fluttershy couldnt stand it! She trottted outside, Showed it who was boos and trotted back in. "It's gone." "What made it leave?" "Me." Soarin rolled his eyes "Whatever, Come on lets go." They flew out of the cave and went back to Fluttershys Cottage

Chapter 2 And that's the Reason I Don't like Rainbow Dash

When they got out of the forest. Soarin was still shivering, and Fluttershy was still feeling like a boss. All the chickens rushed out of their coop to go see Flutters again. They both trotted over to the chickens. Its still really strange what Soarin did back there. I hope he never does it again. Fluttershy thought. "You Have CHICKENS?!" Soarin said. Preferably stunned "Yes, I have Chickens. I also have plenty of other animals. And I know this really nice bear! And this really mean beaver. And plenty more!" "So- Wait you know a bear, and it doesn't try to kill you?" "Um...Yeah! Seems about right." "So, does he live with you?" How was so stupid? "Of course not! He lives in a cave!" "OH..... Am I really that stupid?" "Um....Not to be rude or anything but, yes." They laughed. And trotted inside.

Inside, it was normal. Everything was in order. "So um, So do I get my own room. If Thats okay, I mean I could always sleep on the couch if you wanted me to." Soarin seemed a little more...Self aware than usual, "Are you okay?" Fluttershy couldn't help asking, "Um... Yeah, Well kind of. Well you know how your rainbow dashes PFF?" "Um yes?" "Does she come over often?" "Yes, why?" "Can she not come for a while?" "Why not?" "Oh look! A guest bedroom!" Soarin flew upstairs.

That was sure strange. Fluttershy thought Whats so wrong with asking something? WAS I TOO HARSH?? I hope I wasn't I hope I didn't hurt his feelings.

Fluttershy walked up to the guest room. "Wait Fluttershy, You have dolls of us??" Fluttershy blushed. She forgot about those dolls because they were in here. She never thought anypony who stayed there would ever mind. Of course that was before she new that she was going to be staying with a wonderbolt it's self. She should have considered that before. "Oh yeah. Forgot about those." "They're so cute! They really made a good job making it, don't you think?" WHEW! He didn't mind! "Yep I think they did! And they are kind of cute." Fluttershy poked one. Soarin laughed and sat down on the bed.

Fluttershy was humming raise this barn, she over heard Applejack singing it when she was in ponyville. "Hey whats that song your humming?" Soarin asked. "Oh its just a song my friend sings. Its called um..Barn?" "Oh cool! Could you teach me?" "Um sure." She walked over and sat down on the bed.

"So like this? (Hes singing now) Raise this barn, Raise this barn, 1234 together we can raise this barn, 1234." Soarin was an amazing singer "Um yes, that's right." "Anyway, Fluttershy..." "Yeah?" "The reason I rushed out like that was because. I don't really like Rainbow." "Why not? I mean ponies have opinions but just asking." "well, because she's too selfish." "That's it? Please I live with that everyday!" "And another thing..." "Hm?" "I Think sh... ..... .." "What?" "I said I think she mfs md" "What??" "I Think she likes me!" Soarin covered his mouth. Fluttershy looked at him "Why is that such a bad thing? I don't care if stallions have crushes on me. In fact, Who cares if stallions have crushes on me?" "The stallions do." "..... Point taken." "So those are the reasons. "Okay."

Fluttershy still didn't get why that was so bad. So what if ponies had crushes? It happens to start very young, so whats the problem?? "FLUTTERSHY?!" "YEAH SOARIN??" "WHAT IS THIS BUNNY DOING??" Fluttershy trotted downstairs quickly to see angle and angelina running around and knocking everything over! "See Fluttershy. I don't understand why bunnies would do something like that! Its awkward." Fluttershy rolled her eyes "How is it awkward?" "I Just think... it is." "Yeah....sure." "It's awkward." "NO ITS NOT!"

Fluttershy thought to herself. I don't know what Soarin has going in his head! I mean is it that bad? And how is it awkward? Whatever...I'll ask tomorrow.

Chapter 3 Thats Life in Ponyviille

Soarin woke up the next morning with a huge headache. "Ugh, what happened?" Soarin moaned and slowly got up. Fluttershy knocked on the door. "Can I come in?" Fluttershy whispered from outside, "Um... Sure." Soarin rubbed his head, "Yeah come in." Fluttershy walked in and sat on the bed, "Come sit down Soarin." Soarin sat down, Celestia, Something's probably wrong " Um... so I got a call to city hall today. The Wonderbolts are searching all over Equestria, For you." "WHAT?? GOD WE HAVE TO GOOO!" Soarin started packing. "No!! It has only been one day so just... Hide and I will meet you there." Soarin went to go and hide while a know came from the door bell. Fluttershy rushed downstairs and opened the door. "Hello." Spitfire was standing at the doorstep.

"Um, yes?" Fluttershy was very intimidated by Spitfire. She was THE CAPTAIN OF THE WONDERBOLTS! Who wouldnt? "Alright Miss... Fluttershy, are you carrying Soarin here?" "What? Why isn't he with you guys?" Of course Fluttershy was bad at lying. "Answer the question." "Okay... No Soarin isn't here." "Alright Miss. Have a nice day." Fluttershy closed the door and sighed in relief.

She made some sandwiches and trotted downstairs to where the hiding spot was. She flicked on the lights and went in. "Why were the lights off Soarin?" Fluttershy was really confused. "Oh because I have to! What if she comes in here?" "She didn't" "I know but what if she did!" "Whatever. I made you a sandwich." "OH THANK CELESTIA!" Soarin bit down on his sandwich. Looking like he was eating a bird. An alive bird.

"You know." Soarin said in the middle of munches, "You are an amazing sandwich maker. I could eat this for hours!" Fluttershy blushed when he said that. She was ever complimented by a stallion before. "Um... T-Thanks" "What have you never been complimented by a pony before?" "No... I have but it sounds weird coming from a guy." "Well that hurt." Soarin smiled. A wide smile, A really nice smile. No Fluttershy! No! Bad pony! Ugh... "What?" Soarin touched his face. "Is there something on my face?" Fluttershy smiled "No. Just a smile." Soarin smiled again. "I feel like I can do anything, tell anything, and be myself around you. Something I've been trying to have for a long time. None of the wonderbolts care about that."

He looked at her. A way that only he could. Fluttershys eyes widened as he stared at her eyes. Inching closer and closer. Suddenly They were very, very close. "S-should we?" Fluttershy asked, seeming very very worried. "N-y-n-no we shouldn't..." They inched away and blushed. A lot.

After a couple of more hours, They found themselves lying on pillow talking to eachother. Going on about meaningless conversations trailing on about almost nothing. "So thats how bad life in ponyville is?" "Yes acutely its terrible." "Just never mention Rainbow Dash." "Why?" "Just Dont." "Tell me." "No." "Tell me." "No!" "JUST!" She sighed and continued "Just... why?" "NO NO NO!! YOUR BRINGING BACK THE MEMORIES THE TERRIBLE MEMORIES!" Fluttershy looked shocked. She walked by him out the door. "No. I can't even look at you right now." She walked upstairs.

Soarin was sitting there. In the dark. Alone. Thinking. How could I just yell at her like that?? Also Rainbow Dash is her best friend! I can't just say don't mention or yell DON'T BRING BACK THE MEMORIES!! At her! She's too delicate and I yelled at her! I'm suck a BITCH to her! "Soarin..." He heard a voice from upstairs but he kept quiet. "Soarin..." Fluttershy was calling again. "What..." Soarin yelled a little. "I'm coming down there! You've been in there for hours! Either come up now or I'm going down there!"' Soarin kept quiet. He sat there on the floor curled up in a ball. He heard her trot down the stairs. She opened the door, walked in and shut the door.

Fluttershy sat down next to Soarin. "Why?" Soarin couldn't answer that. "Tell me... You can trust me! I never even talk to any other ponies a lot anyway." Fluttershy winked. Soarin sighed and began to fess up, "Fine. When we were all younger in flight school, me and her were best friends. We would hang out everyday. When we got into the junior wonderbolts, in our pre-teen years, we sorta dated. I totally regretted it. Now she still likes me but I don't like her. That's why I can't stand to hear her name or about her or even look at her anymore. I just can't handle the guilt..."

Fluttershy was shocked. She wanted to start crying. But instead she curled up into a spoon with Soarin. "Hey," She started, "I had no idea it would be so tragic in pre-teen years. My years were so different. Just down in ponyville doing things with my animal friends. I had no friends other than Rainbow Dash who was up in cloudsdale. So I was only only with them." Now Soarin was laughing a little under tears. "Your years sound so peaceful, while mine are like a tornado." They both laughed. This time neither of them went away, they were lying next to each other, drifting to sleep.

"A... What?" Soarin was very confused on why Fluttershy wanted to do. "You know," Fluttershy replied,"A musical number. Singing, Dancing, etc." "What? Why would I want to do a musical?" "Musical NUMBER." "Yeah whatever, Sing? I can NOT sing." "Yeah you can! I mean If Pinkie could you could." "Yeah... FINE! I'll try... But you seriously owe me." "Alright. I'll get you in tune." Soarin tuned his voice from the help of Fluttershy. They began to sing,

"These Animals wont listen," Soarin sung right in pitch

"No not one little bit!" Fluttershy sung back

"They run around out of control."

"And throw their hissy fits."

"Its up for me to stop them."

"Its fair for all to see."

"Its got to be my destiny,"

"And its what,"

"My cutiemark is telling me....."

He let his last note be long. After that note, There was a knock on the door. Fluttershy got up and opened the door. It was Rainbow Dash,

"Oh hey Fluttershy! Wh- WHAT IN THE HAY IS HE DOING HERE?? A WONDERBOLT IN YOUR HOUSE?? HOW DID YOU GET HIM TO COME HERE! AND WHY SOARIN? HE IS THE WORST WONDERBOLT AND PONY I KNOW!"

Soarin looked down and slowly started to walk upstairs, Fluttershy looked at Soarin mopeing up the stairs. Though she was a very shy pony, She can kick flank whenever her friends are being bullied by somepony. She looked back at Rainbow Dash with a death look. A look that pretty much said, Bitch after saying that you're going to die

"Well you want to know why?" Fluttershy began, "YOU WANNA KNOW WHY? *ehem* Because, He needed somewhere to stay so i offered here. We get along and have a lot in common. He is the BEST pony I know and I don't care if you're not fond of him. At first I wasn't real fond of you Dashie, but sure enough I got used to it. He has more in common with me than anypony I know and I am not just going to give that up so we can be friends. So write that down ms. cause please I am NOT just going to give up a new friend just because you say so. He is t-the most amazing pony I know! So if you're mad that you're old little filly crush is staying with me then just too bad. I'm NOT letting him go and I don't care what anyone thinks. So go away if you don't like him, there isn't anypony who can stop you from leaving. Buh-bye now." Fluttershy pushed her out and slammed the door.

Fluttershy trotted as fast as she can upstairs, "Soarin! Oh my goodness! Did you see what I did? I was so assertive! I can't believe I managed to get so many years of tension and anger out in one paragraph!"

Soarin looked down at the bed, "Mmhmm. Yeah I heard."

"Whats wrong Soarin?"

"Nothing."

"No there's Obviously something."

"No there isn't"

"Soarin."

Soarin looked up at Fluttershy, he knew he was going to have to spit it out one way or another. He sighed. Soarin didn't want to leave, but he had to, "Fluttershy," He was almost in tears,"F-Flutters.." He couldn't get out his words. He was tearing up a lot, "I-I-I"

"You what?" Fluttershy said that he was hurt someway, but she didn't know how he could be sad.

"I.... I have to go..."

Bam. Fluttershy was crying too. He had to go but she didn't want to admit it. She fell on him with a pool of tears on her face. They were crying on eachother,

"But.." Fluttershy began," But I don't want you to leave me! You could s-stay as long as you want! P-please..."

"No..." Soarin answered choking up his tears, "If it was my choice I would never leave... You're my best friend... even if we've only been friends for 3 days... I'll miss you the most..."

Fluttershy looked up at him, "We've been friends forever but we just didn't know it. I would never think of you less than my best friend. Soarin, if I didn't think we could work together or if we had nothing in common I would've never invited you to stay in my house. So please don't leave me now... You're my last hope... Rainbow Dash scares me so now I have no other pegasi to lean on. Please...."

"Shhh....Shhh...." Soarin began to sing with his tears choked back, "Fluuuutteeerrrshyyyy. Do not crrryyyy. I realize that time will be cruel and mean. I know seems to be.... But stay strong do not fight life you need to go with the flow or tide, just lay beside me and fall asleep quickly... Quiiiiiickly..... Fall asleep in my arms..... Fluttershy of mine, fall asleep and you'll be fine...." Soarin looked down at Fluttershy who's eyes were closed and smiling wide,

"Why do you have to go?" She muttered

"Because if the Wonderbolts look in here and find me you and I will be dead..."

Fluttershy was silent and so was Soarin. They quickly fell asleep in eachothers arms. Feeling the wramnth given out from their bodies. Tonight, was going to be a magical night.

The last night

Chapter 5 The Last Night

Soarin woke up and Fluttershy was upstairs calling his name,
"Soarin? Could you come up here please?"

Soarin walked upstairs to see Fluttershy in her gala dress.
"Since this is your last night," She began, "I want to make it one you'll remember forever."

He smiled and looked at her the way only he could,

"This is amazing." He looked around at the decorations she put up. It was an enchanted forest theme, and it was beautiful, "I can't believe you did this for me... I have no words..."

Fluttershy smiled at him and sat down at the table,
"I wanted to make this the most special moment of your life because I might not meet any other pony like you. So lets make this special. Because you might not meet any other pony who gets you as much as I do."

He had tears in his eyes as he smiled as wide as a mile and sat down across from her,
"I can't believe I mean't that much to you. This is the nicest thing anypony has done for me. You're the most amazing pony in my life Fluttershy, and don't ever forget that okay?"

Fluttershy blushed and Angel brought the dinner out. He served it on the table and brought in Octavia. She started playing the cello. They ate and spoke under the beautiful cellos notes as she bowed on the strings slowly. After each note was played they fell in love more and more. The animals felt it in the air. After dinner they went back upstairs to Fluttershys room.

They sat on her bed and laughed. Fluttershy lied on her back,
"Is this really happening or is it just me?"
Soarin laughed, "No it's really happening."

Fluttershy was the happiest she's ever been. She pulled him to lay on his back also. He rolled over to look at her,
"Can I tell you something?"
She inched closer to him, "What is it?"
"I like this mare..."
"Yes?"
"How do I tell her?"
"Do something big for her."
"You mean like this?"

He leaned over and kissed her, But he didn't stop. Of course she kissed back loving that moment they were having. He pulled back and smiled. She was lying there jaw dropped. He blushed,
"Uh... Fluttershy? You okay? Was that dumb to do?"

She was laying on her back looking at the ceiling jaw dropped. In her head she thought, That... Was.... Amazing... She didn't know what to say. So she didn't say anything. She leaned in and kissed him again, but pulled back quickly. Soarin looked at her and smiled,
"This is the best night ever..."
"Yes... It's perfect..." She replied still blushing

Soarin gazed at Fluttershy who was still in her dress. You could see the pure love in his eyes, it was amazing. You could tell how much he cared about her. She looked beautiful tonight, the most beautiful mare he's even seen. Even over Rainbow Dash. He smiled and brushed Fluttershys mane. Fluttershy pomfed,
"U-uh... Why aren't my wings going down? Why can't I move them? Hehehehe...."

In her mind she was thinking, Oh goodness I pomfed around him! Oh my goodness... Soarin laughed a little and Fluttershy laughed along with him nervously. Oh she was SO embarrassed. Soarin could tell that she was. He leaned in and kissed her again. Fluttershy kissed back strong! She's been waiting for this moment forever, and she wasn't going to let it pass by easily! This made Soarin pomf. Fluttershy pushed back and smirked at him. He was lying there blushing,
"I'm about to do something I'll regret forever."

He grabbed Fluttershy by her waist and rolled her on top of him. She smiled and then kissed him. One thing lead to another and before she knew it her gala dress had been ripped off and they were in bed. She was sleeping on Soarin, the cutest way possible. Soarin was still awake. He was lying there, holding Fluttershy, and thinking about how he could just leave? I can't just leave after a night like this! But I have to go... I saw Spitfire when she came. She didn't believe Fluttershy. I have to leave... I-I- I'm sorry...

When Fluttershy woke up, Soarin had already gotten up, and was eating breakfast. She could hear him humming a song she didn't recognize. Fluttershy utterly ignored it and got up. She trotted downstairs and still heard him humming, but he was packing! Fluttershy flew off the stairs and tackled him from behind! She pinned him on his stomach and started to cry a little,
"W-w-why do you have to go now?? W-why can't you just stay? P-please!! I insist!"

Soarin was very startled and was breathing hard. He looked up at Fluttershy and sighed,
"I told you why I have to leave. Spitfires going to come and take me away. I've been in one place for far too long. I need to go now Fluttershy... Believe me."

Fluttershy at the ground and closed her eyes. She understood why Soarin had to go, but she didn't to believe it. She ran over and hugged Soarin. He hugged back and softly stroked Fluttershy's mane. Soarin kissed her on the top of her head, and started walking towards the door. She trotted slowly behind him and stood at her doorstep. She looked up at him, Flying away. With tears in her eyes she whispered,
"I-I-I love you..."

Soarin swooped down fast and dropped a rose at her hooves. Fluttershy picked it up and looked at the sky, wondering if he'd ever come back.
