The Power of Loveby ponyguy123ChaptersChapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 1Chapter 1 Begin Flashback My whole life, I had been a normal unicorn. I went to school, I had a job, and I even had a fillyfriend for a while, but she had to leave to Canterlot and I have never seen her since. Nothing particularly interesting had ever happened to me. I lived in Manehattan for the majority of my life. My family had moved there from Fillydelphia when I was young. Now, fifteen years later, I travel. Anywhere I feel like. It's a lot more interesting than sitting at home, doing nothing with my 'potentially great' life. I am an extremely curious pony, so this just seemed like the right kind of thing for me. I liked to travel to interesting and exciting places, like jungles and mountains and stuff. My family had a financial crisis recently, so I had to get a high paying job. But let me tell you, waking up, going to work, sitting at a desk all day, going home and repeating wasn't exactly 'living the dream'. So that's why I travelled. End Flashback I lay asleep on the damp grass, as the morning sun beamed across my body. I continued to sleep there, until a drop of water ran off one of the trees above me and dropped onto my forehead. I woke up, wiped the drop away and looked around. I was in the middle of a forest, with nopony around. I was having some trouble recalling recent events, so I had no idea where I was or how I got there. Amnesia wasn't really something that happened often, so I assumed I had hit my head or something. I noticed I was laying near a path, but both ends seemed to just go on forever, being guided into the darkness by the trees on either side. I couldn't just sit there, so I chose a direction and started walking. About half a mile down the road, the trees began to get bigger and darker. Barely any sun was shining through the leaves, but there were a few hoofprints in the dirt. I followed them through the forest until I saw a few buildings in the distance, and there were also a few ponies. Actually, quite a lot of ponies. I galloped towards it and as soon as I arrived, a blue pegasus came down from the sky to greet me. "Hey! You're new here, aren't you?" she asked. "Umm. I guess so." I said, not entirely sure what to say. "Well, welcome to Ponyville. I'm Rainbow Dash." I knew Ponyville. I had seen it on a map before. Being a traveller, I liked to learn about other places in Equestria. "Hi Rainbow Dash. I'm Sunny." I said back. "So Sunny, why'd you come to Ponyville?" "Well, I'm not really sure." She looked at me funny. "What do you mean you're not sure?" she asked. "Well, I woke up in the middle of nowhere and started walking. Then I found Ponyville." I tried to explain, even though I wasn't entirely sure myself. "Okay..." she said as she stared at me. She then started showing me around. She showed me the town, I met the Mayor and she introduced me to a few of her close friends. There was Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Fluttershy, but she said there was one other pony that I should meet, so we walked over to her house. Rainbow Dash knocked on the door with her hoof. "And this is my friend Twilight Sparkle's house. She's from Canterlot." she said as we waited for her to answer the door. At that moment, the door opened and a unicorn stood in the doorway. She was... beautiful. She was the most amazing pony I had ever seen. It was love at first sight. My heart skipped a beat. "Oh, hello Rainbow Dash. Who's your friend?" she asked. "Hi, Twilight. This is Sunny. He's new in town." Rainbow Dash said. "Hi Sunny. I'm Twilight Sparkle." I couldn't speak. I was too lovestruck. I wasn't sure if it was just me or if she was moving in slow motion. Rainbow Dash waved her hoof in my face and knocked me out of my trance. "Wha-? Oh right, um, Hello Twilight Sparkle. Nice to meet you." I said enthusiastically. Author's Note I am going to upload this story, but I'm not going to care about the bad comments. I mean, it's a pretty bad story, I admit it, but at least one person will enjoy this. So, I'm uploading it for them, whoever they may be. I'm going to not care about the bad comments. That's what I programmed worldsbestbot to do. Chapter 2Chapter 2 Twilight Sparkle. The most beautiful pony in all of Equestria, and I still hadn't told her how I really felt about her. For some reason, I was living in Ponyville now. I wasn't sure if it was because of Twilight or if it was just some gut feeling, but was sure about one thing:- I had completely left my old life behind. I had been there for six whole months. But today was different. I was confident. Today, I was going to tell Twilight that I loved her. I saw her in the park by herself, reading a book. That was my chance. I strolled up to her, trying to stop myself sweating. "Hey Twilight." I said, trying to stay cool. "Yeah Sunny?" "Well, I have to ask you something." "Yes?" "Would you err... Would you... Would-" I stuttered. At that moment, we heard a yelling from above us. "Look out!" We both looked up and saw Rainbow Dash spinning out of control towards us. Before I could get out of the way, she crashed into me, knocking me back. I lied there, dazed, trying to stop the world spinning around me. I got back up and gave Rainbow Dash an angry look. "Oh. Sorry about that." she said. Twilight returned her attention to me. "Anyway, what did you want to ask me?" she asked. "Oh. Nothing." I said. That perfect opportunity was ruined. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Six More Months Later ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay. It was getting quite ridiculous now. In the past six months, I had given it another twelve attempts. Every single time, something happened which caused me to mess up. But no more. Today, I was just going to go up to her and blurt it out. I walked over to her house and knocked on the door. She answered the door and I was immediately entranced by her beauty. "Yes Sunny?" she asked. "Twilight, I'm-" I began, but I was stopped by a scream, coming from outside. "For pete's sake! What now?!" I yelled. We both looked out the window and saw Lyra Heartstrings, screaming and pointing her hoof in the air. We ran outside and saw a horrible sight. An army of changelings was flying towards Ponyville. "Oh damn!" I exclaimed. Swarms of changlings flew down to Ponyville. Ponies were running around and screaming. They ran inside and locked their doors and windows, until suddenly a large changeling landed in the middle of the street. "Take them all!" she yelled. "Oh no! Queen Chrysalis!" Twilight said. "Queen Chrysalis? You mean the same Queen Chrysalis who attacked Canterlot?" I asked nervously. "Exactly!" We ran through the town, avoiding the masses of destruction, as the changelings destroyed the buildings and ponynapped several ponies. We continued running until the unimaginable happened. A changeling swooped down and stole Twilight! I stopped running and turned around. Twilight screamed for her life. I ran back towards her and leapt into the air. I reached out my hooves to grab her, but I missed. I was so close, but not close enough. I crashed onto the ground and rolled into a building. I got up and watched them take Twilight away. It crushed my heart. I sat there and watched, but I couldn't watch for long. Ponyville was under attack. I crawled under a cart and stayed silent. It was just horrible. Chapter 3Chapter 3 After half an hour, it was over. The changelings left Ponyville , but they took everypony with them. Everypony except me. I crawled out from underneath the cart and looked around. There was destruction everywhere. Houses had been smashed apart, statues had been broken. It was a disaster. I walked through the broken streets alone. It was like a ghost town. It was dead silent. I kept walking, keeping an eye out for any other ponies, until I saw one. She was lying under some debris from a building. I galloped over to her and removed the rubble. It was Rarity. She was unconscious, so I tried to wake her up. "Rarity? Rarity!" I said, nudging her with my hoof. "RARITY!" I yelled and gave her a big shove. That seemed to work. "Wa- Sunny?" she asked when she came to. "What happened? Where is everypony?" She started to panic. "Hey, calm down!" I said. I took Rarity into the only building that was still standing. She had a nosebleed, but she was okay. I didn't know what I could do, but I knew what had to be done. Somepony would have to go and save everyone, heroically, but who could single hoofedly save a bunch of ponies from a group of horrible changelings? "So... What do we do now?" I asked Rarity. "Well, we need somepony to go out there and save everyone. Is there anypony that could possibly be that brave?" she said, obviously implying that she wanted me to go. "I suppose I could... No, wait. Nevermind." I said, quickly rejecting the idea. Then I remembered what was at stake. All of Ponyville, and all my friends. And then I remembered that horrible scream that Twilight had shrieked when she was being ponynapped. I couldn't Wait! No! I want to try. I want to give it a shot." I said, not sure if it was a wise choice. Rarity smiled with glee. "Yay!" I walked out into the street. "I'll do it. For Ponyville. For my friends. And for Twilight!" I heroically said to myself, as I drew my imaginary sword from my imaginary scabbard. However, I didn't realise that Rarity had followed me outside. "What?! You have a crush on Twilight?" she said, "Puh-leeze! You've been here for a whole year and you haven't even told her. Do you think she'll be single forever?" I rolled my eyes and headed over to Twilight's library. I got a map out of the debris and inspected it. I saw where the ponies had been taken. The Changeling Kingdom. It was quite far away. I wasn't even sure I could make it that far, but I had to give it a shot. I packed a few things, such as food, water and even a book titled: "Changelings-A Field Guide". I was ready. I set off, the world seeming an even more eerie place than before. I walked for miles, constantly checking the map to see if I was still going the right way. I passed many places as I went, including Fillydelphia. It had changed a lot since I was young. My old house wasn't even there anymore. It had been torn down and new buildings had filled it's place. That was probably for the best, since the house was pretty old, but it was still kinda sad. I kept on walking. Step after step. The journey seemed endless, but I couldn't stop now. I had come too far to go back. I was looking at the map, not watching where I was going. I only looked up a couple of times to make sure I wasn't walking off a cliff. Eventually, I accidentally tripped over on a rock and grazed my knee, but that wasn't the worst thing that happened. When I tripped, I dropped the map and it landed in a big, muddy puddle. It was ruined. I was really angry! I yelled and punched a tree, which hurt a little, but I still had no map. I was completely lost. I wasn't sure what to do, so I kept walking. It couldn't be that far away, right? Well, one thing was sure, I was wrong. It was a really stupid decision to keep walking. I found a town and went to ask for directions, but then I quickly realised I was back in Ponyville! "Bloody hell!" I yelled. I was really frustrated. All that work for nothing. However, I wanted to finish what I started, even if I was just starting again. I checked up on Rarity, and then left again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Next Day ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After twenty-four long, boring, sweaty, tiring hours, I had arrived at the Changeling Kingdom. It was enormous! There was a large wall surrounding the whole place, and a castle in the middle. There was no way I could get inside, rescue a whole town of ponies and get out again without getting caught or killed or something. Chapter 4Chapter 4 It seemed impossible. It couldn't be done. But, of course, I couldn't just give up now. I decided to use the simplest possible way. Asking nicely. I approached the guards at the entrance nervously. "Halt. No pony is allowed in the kingdom. State your business, unicorn." one of them said, intimidatingly. "Hi! Umm... Can I go inside and rescue my friends? I kinda want them back." I said calmly. They looked at each other, and then back at me. "Go away or we will be forced to destroy you. Our queen has your friends locked in her throne room." he said. The other guard whacked him on the back of the head. "Dude! You just told him where the prisoners were!" he said. "Hey, don't hit me!" he said back. I snuck away while they were having their little argument. Well, back to the drawing board. As I was thinking, I walked around the wall. If comic books had taught me anything, it's that there's always a secret vent or something like that somewhere. I searched all around, but to no avail. But then I had an idea. The trees from the surrounding forest where conveniently overhanging the wall. If I could get up into one of the trees, I could climb over the wall! I climbed up into the tree and started shuffling my way over the wall. I was lying on a branch, and I had one hoof holding another branch beside me. As I passed the wall, I was starting to think more about how I was supposed to get down. There wasn't really any way down, except for jumping of course. However, I hadn't even finished that thought when the branch snapped beneath me. I fell onto the ground, face first. I got back up to see if anyone was watching, but there was nopony there. I snuck around the back of the castle and slipped through the door. I walked through the castle, looking around for the throne room. There were guards everywhere. I noticed a large door, which obviously led to the throne room. I couldn't go in there, I'd get caught in two seconds flat! But there was also a little door around the side. I quietly slipped through the door and found myself in the throne room, but around the side. It was dark, which was good. I really didn't want to get caught at this point. This was getting really easy. Too easy... I didn't see my friends anywhere. Not until I looked up. There were several cages dangling from the roof. I quietly ascended up the spiral staircase, which went around the room, and stood on the platform which was level with the cages. Amongst the sad and scared ponies that sat there, I saw Twilight Sparkle. I took a few steps back and then charged forward. I leaped when I reached the edge and grabbed onto the cage that Twilight was in. She turned around quickly and saw me. She couldn't believe it, but it was me. "Sun-" she exclaimed, but I cut her off. "Shhhhhhh! Be quiet!" I whispered. I was hanging from the cage by my two front hooves, which were beginning to slip. I tried my best to keep them on, but they were a bit sweaty. "What are you doing here?" she said quietly. "I came to save you guys!" "Really? You really did that?" I noticed the cage was completely sealed off, without a door or anything. "How did they get you in there?" I asked. "I don't know. We woke up like this." "Can you teleport out?" "No. I've tried. It's impossible. I was starting to slip some more. "Ok, Twilight. I'm about to slip and give myself away, but I really have to tell you something. I can't wait any longer." I said, knowing that this was the time. This might be my last opportunity. "Yes Sunny?" she said in curiosity. "I am... in love with you." I said, worried about how she would respond. "Re- really?" she said, in a sort of shock. "For how long?" "Since we first met. You were the most beautiful pony in all of Equestria. I was always trying to tell you, but I never could." She didn't respond, she just stared at me. At that moment, my hooves slipped and I started falling. She reached her hoof out to grab me... but missed. I fell. Everything was moving in slow motion for some reason. It was all over now. Everything. Even if I did survive the fall, it wouldn't be much better than if I just died. At least I told Twilight Sparkle that I loved her. That was the whole reason I ever stayed in Ponyville anyway. I hit the ground. Hard. Author's Note Cancelled. That's it. I know I kind of left it at a cliff hanger, but please read the remake and let's find out how that ends. Since I haven't had any input into the remake, I don't know how it will end.
