It was just another day, Twilight browsing through her books, when Spike burped up a letter. "That's weird, Celestia doesn't usually send me letters unless it's urgent!" cried Twilight. She opened up the letter. Inside it read, "My Dear faithful student Twilight Sparkle, I need you at Canterlot this evening when the sun is about to go down, and the moon is about to rise. You then will make a decision. Bring your friends and the Elements with you, too. I am much looking forward to seeing you there. Sincerely, Princess Celestia" "Tonight? I don't get it! Spike, let's get the girls and maybe we can find out what is going on." said Twilight. "You got it!" replied Spike. Twilight got her saddlebag and put the elements in. She then ran over to Rarity's shop, where Rarity was working on a fancy dress made of rubies. "Rarity. The princess wants us this evening. Come on, let's get the other girls and by then, it will be almost time." said Twilight. "'Oh my, the Princess wants us!" cried Rarity. She joined Twilight, and the two ran off with Spike.

Then, they ended up at Fluttershy's cottage. They knocked, and Fluttershy opened the door, with an angry looking Angel beside her. "Fluttershy, the princess wants us at Canterlot tonight! We must get ready!" said Rarity. "Oh, my, sorry Angel, your tail fluffing will have to wait." said Fluttershy. Angel stomped off, angry. Fluttershy joined the crew. Next, they ended up at Sweet Apple Acres. There, they found the Apple Family working hard at bucking apple trees. "Applejack!" yelled Twilight. "Would ya'll look at that! We just got done buckin' the last tree!" said Applejack. "The princess needs us soon, you need to join us!" replied Twilight. AJ instantly joined them. Next, the ponies ran to Sugarcube corner. "Oh, Pinkie Pie is upstairs playing with Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake!" said Mrs. Cake. The ponies ran upstairs, to find Pinkie playing peek-a-boo with the Cake's children.

"Pinkie Pie, the princess needs us now!" said Twilight. "Now? Aww, I was just startign to have fun. But, oh well." Pinkie joined them. Now there was only one pony left- Rainbow Dash. The ponies ran all over Ponyville, until they found Rainbow resting on a cloud. Out of nowhere, Pinkie brought out her party cannon, and shot the cloud with confetti. "AH!" Dash woke up with a start. "Rainbow, the princess needs us!" cried Pinkie. "Alright, alright, chill, I'm coming." Dash said, jumping off the cloud.

Once the ponies arrived in the castle in Canterlot, there awaiting was Princess Luna and Princess Celestia. The timing was perfect. "'Twilight Sparkle, the time has come for you to advance. You have a choice, you must choose wisely." said Celestia. "What is it?" asked Twilight. "You have reached your max of studies. It is time, Twilight. The time you become a princess." replied Celestia. All of the Mane 6 gasped in shock. (And Spike.) "Me?! A princess?!" asked Twilight. "Yes. Now, you may decide. IF, you become a princess, you will raise the stars every night. Not to mention you will earn these." Celestia spread her wings. "But," she said in a serious voice. "You will have to live in Canterlot. Your friends will not visit you often. Once a year, maybe? Spike will stay with you, though. You will have many royal duties to take care of." "But-but, why can't Luna raise the stars herself?" asked Twilight. "Your cutie mark is stars. Once one of my students reaches your level, they shall become an alicorn, and rule off their talent. For example, a pony's cutie mark is a firework. They shall rule brightness across the land." replied Celestia. "What if I don't want to be a princess, what will happen?" asked Twilight. Celestia sighed.

"You will end your studies of friendship, and live as a mortal wherever. I shall take the Elements back and give them to a new student, whom will study friendship, and learn like you. However, you were the first mortal to unlock the Elements, defeating Nightmare Moon. But I know, it will work on anypony who believes in friendship." Twilight sighed. What was she going to do? She looked at her friends. They were stressed. Rarity, biting her hoof (which she would NEVER do.) Rainbow flapping her wings like crazy, Applejack swing her hat around her face so she could get rid of the sweat. Fluttershy's eyes were wide looking around like crazy. Pinkie's hair was starting to go down in a sad way. Twilight looked up at the princesses. "I will be a princess!" she shouted.

Rarity fainted. Rainbow Dash fell on the ground. Fluttershy had small tears coming out of her eyes, Applejack was starting to cry, and Pinkie Pie's bright happy colors faded. "I'm sorry girls, but the elements are what makes us special." said Twilight. Rainbow growled. "The Elements aren't what made us special! Elements or not, it's our friendship!" "The elements are what caused our friendship, and I am not letting them go that easily!" shouted Twilight back. Applejack sighed. "She's right…well, Twilight do whatever your heart tells you." Twilight grabbed the elements out of her bag. Luna sighed. "Be prepared to share the night, Luna. It's not like I raise clouds in the day." said Celestia. "You're right, but it's such a dramatic change." replied Luna. Celestia took a good look at Luna's flank. "I don't see any stars with that moon. Twilight Sparkle was meant to raise the stars all along." said Celestia. "You're right big sister, you're right." sighed Luna.

Celestia grabbed the Elements. Her horn glowed, and she made the elements glow. Twilight glowed to. The elements, along with Twilight started to levitate in the air. And after a bright flash, Twilight was on the ground, wearing her element on her head. The other 5 elements were surrounding her. "Luna, it is time to raise the moon." said Celestia. Luna did as told. "Twilight…" said Celestia. Twilight's horn glowed, and in the sky, appeared beautiful stars, one Luna could never make. Twilight spread her wings. Celestia looked at the other 5 ponies. "You must go home, now." The ponies did as told, tears streaming down their faces every step their hoof took. They would almost never get to see Twilight again.

It has been months since the other five have seen Twilight. They have carried on with their lives, but they would never forget Twilight. Because every night the ponies see the stars, they see their old friend, Twilight Sparkle.
