A Search and Rescure Gone Wrong

Search Gone Wrong: Nintenerd1998

It was a beautiful Saturday morning in Equestria sun was shining brightly which was a nice change of pace after the storm from the previous day. For the little fillys and colts it meant fun in the sun others it meant chilling with friends, but for Fluttershy how ever it meant going into the Everfree Forest looking for her animal friends. As she was about to venture into the forest which she slowly grew to not fear due to the fact she went in more often than she would like her best friend Rainbow Dash flew over her cottage practicing some tricks, but stopped to see where she was going. Fluttershy said while pointing to the foreboding forest "there to look for some bunnies that got spooked by the storm. " said the pink maned pegasis
"Oh can i help i've got nothing to do today" truth was the Rainbow wanted to be alone with the timid mare for other reasons \
"Oh of course you can come" .
"Great lets roll"said the excited cyan Pegasus.After about twenty minutes of wandering they still haven't found one rabbit.
"Let's rest" suggested the timid one.
"Alright a good break will do us some good." Fluttershy then proceeds to pull a couple sandwiches out of one of the pouches in her saddle bag."Here we're gonna need to keep our strength up"

"Thanks" said the rainbow maned one while taking the sandwich in her hooves. "No problem."
After a good ten minute break the two pegasi started their long hard journey again.
"Hey I think i saw something rustle in the bushes i'm gonna check it out." said Rainbow with a smidgen of confidence in her voice.
"Oh OK i'll wait right here" she said whilst sitting on a stump. After 6.23453531353535 minutes Rainbow decided to head back slightly disappointing by the fact she found nothing, as she was starting to head back to the spot where Fluttershy was waiting he heard the large loud booming howl of a Timber Wolf followed by a shrill scream. "oh no" Rainbow dash now fling at break neck speeds reached Fluttershy she could see the timid one was now hiding behind her stump.
"It's OK Fluttershy i'm here no one is gonna hurt you she said embracing Fluttershy.
"Let's head back please i don't want to stay here any more" said Fluttershy with tears in her eyes
"OK lets fly back.", as they were about to take off a pack of Timber wolves erupted from the bush
"buck buck buck buck buck buck lets get out of here for the love of Luna," but just when they were about o engage in flight one of the timber wolves slashed Fluttershy right in the side "SON OF A BEE STING that bucking hurts"
"damn with her injured we might be screwed" Rainbow Dash thought to her self
Fluttershy then bucked the attacking timber wolf right in the jaw causing it to stubble back in pain "deserved."
".. ...... maybe not." The two pegasi were now back to back trying their best not to panic in-spite of the situation.
"You ok Fluttershy?" Asked Rainbow with deep concern in her voice
"Just peachy" Said the injured one although you could tell that she was in pain
"hm OK then lets make fire wood out of these walking twigs." Rainbow said in a defensive stance with a smug look
" OK lets do this." after a grooling 20 minute battle they were finally able to drive the Timber Wolves back from where they came. "AWW YEAH WE DID IT... Fluttershy ?" The yellow animal care taker was now barly able to support herself using a near by tree stump for help.
"I think the wound has gotten worse Rainbow i don't think I'm gonna make it." it was true blood was now trickling from the now more open wound at a much faster rate, and with the battle just ending Rainbow Dash was too exausted to carry her all the way back to Ponyvill where her best friend could get some medical aid, nor could she go and come back for fear of the timber wolves attacking while she was gone. Fluttershy's odds of survival were not in her favor.
"Please don't leave me Rainbow, I don't want to be left alone" said the injured mare in a semi-weak tone.
"And you won't be, I'm gonna be right here in case those walking saplings come back." All Fluttershy could do was give a weak smile and a thank you.
"Don't worry your gonna make i'll be sure of it." Said Rainbow although she wasn't sure if she believed herself.

"Wait i,ve got something that might get us out of this." Just then Fluttershy pulled their saving grace a single red flair and a box of matches."These'll get us out of this." Said Fluttershy with a crazy look on her face.
"God I love it when she gets that way" Rainbow thought to herself. Just then Fluttershy light the flair and threw it a good 10 meters from them in hopes it would attract somepony.
" Now we wait" said Fluttershy doing that last action took out almost all the energy she had left in her. Just then a large swarm of butterflies simaler to the one Fluttershy landed on when she was a filly flew by.
"Ah that takes me back." Fliuttershy said with a content smile on her face.
" To when?" Rainbow asked with a confused look on her face.
"The day i got my cutie mark"
"Oh" Rainbow said in aw.
"Yep, hnng oh god this might be it Rainbow I just want you to know that you've always been my best friend, Their is a picture of us on my bed side table of just us i want you t have as both a token and something to remember me by." and with that Fluttershy closed her eyes and awaited death's embrace.
"No please Fluttershy just hold on please." Tears in her eyes Rainbow said to Fluttershy "I love you"
Then with her last few breaths Fluttershy was able to muster "I love you to." Then she was gone just like that and all Rainbow could do was weep, weep until she couldn't any more.
