For once, peace reigns in Equestria, as the long feuding nations of three races have joined together for prosperity, but not all is as it seems, some oppose this new-found tranquillity.

Alabaster, a deadbeat and down-trodden detective, struggles to get his family back as he sits on New Year's Eve, drowning his sorrows in a bottle of Appletini, but suddenly a furious attack leaves him alone, and broken. With his daughter presumed kidnapped, Alabaster sets out for the frozen North, along with a companion, to find out who was behind the attack, and why his daughter was kidnapped.
