//-------------------------------------------------------// Hush Little Dashy -by The Guy on Your Right- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Hush Little Dashy //-------------------------------------------------------// Hush Little Dashy Hush Little Dashy I bet all of you already know Rainbow Dash. The element of loyalty, one of the ponies who saved Equestria from Nightmare Moon, Discord, Chrysalis, and King Sombra. And also how could I forget, the best young flyer in all of Equestria. Knowing that Rainbow Dash did a lot for Equestria and also the Crystal Empire, it made me so happy, specially being her father. The only thing that makes me sad is that, I didn't even get a chance to congratulate her. The only thing that I could do for her now is to watch her from above and see how's she doing below. If only I could come down from the heavens and get a chance to spend a day with her. Of all the things, that's the only thing I would wish for. Meeting my daughter once more, spending the day with her, having a father and daughter moment. Well, I guess not all things you could get. The last time I saw her, or rather she saw me, was the time when my dead body was getting buried into the ground. She was still a little filly. She was crying that time. Tears falling down from her eyes, murmuring the word 'dad'. I wanted her to stop crying that time. I took a sit beside her, tried to hug her, but only to pass through her. Knowing that I'm just a homeless soul. She couldn't see me, nor hear me. It was my fault, challenging my little filly through a race at the depths of 'Ghastly Gorge', even though it's risky. Well, I didn't really plan to race with her on 'Ghastly Gorge', she just like putting herself onto the limits. I'm a father, I should have know better for her, but instead I failed. I died because of an accident. Boulders were falling, my daughter, Rainbow Dash was panicking as the rocks fall down on her. My rainbow colored mane swayed back and forth as I pushed her out of the way, only to be the one to get crushed. I fell unconscious for a moment. I opened my eyes and saw Rainbow Dash, crying onto my chest. I tried to stand up, but only to be stopped by a giant boulder on my lower part of the body. I patted her with my hoof. She looked up to me. "Dad?" she muttered. She then suddenly hugged me, and cried onto my neck. "Dad, this is all my fault!!!" she exclaimed. I returned her hug. "Don't cry Dashy, it makes papa sad." I replied to her. "This is all my fault!!!" she repeated. "This is-." I placed a hoof on her muzzle. "This isn't your fault Dashy," I whispered to her. "Now don't be sad." "B-but there's a boulder crushing you." Rainbow Dash pointed the boulder pressed against my lower body. Remembering it makes the pain only worse. But I have to endure the pain, to show my Dashy that I'm okay. "Come on now Dashy, what problems your daddy couldn't handle?" I said to her proudly. "Nothing..." she wiped her tears. "See? There's nothing to worry about your fat-." I grunted in pain as I felt like a thousand needle had been impaled on my hind-legs. I covered my mouth with my  hoof as I coughed furiously. I removed my hoof from my mouth and glanced at it. My hoof, covered with my own blood. I gazed back to Rainbow Dash, who's now starting to cry again. "Hey, hey, hey." I wiped my hoof on my purple coat before placing it behind Rainbow Dash's head. "I told you not to cry." I patted her mane. "But daddy..." she murmured. "Hey Dashy, do you want me to sing a song for you?" I gave her a warm smile. Rainbow Dash nodded. "Okay, I'm going to sing a song, now stop crying and listen to the song I am about to sing." Rainbow Dash buried her face on my chest and then wrapped her forelegs around my neck. She looked up to me and I looked down to her. "You can sing now daddy." she sniffed, trying to hold back the tears in her eyes. I took a deep breath before letting out a hum. A familiar song to Rainbow Dash. "Hush now Dashy don't you cry, daddy's gonna be... strong and fine. I don't want to see you crying now, don't worry about your daddy here." I felt my eyes getting heavy, slowly closing on its own. "Daddy!!!" I suddenly opened my eyes, trying to keep my self alive. "Hush now Dashy don't say a word, Let your daddy go to bed. He's gonna be alrighty now, So now be though and let him go." I don't have any choice now. My eyes were now as heavy as ever. I couldn't open it now no matter how much I want to. I heard Rainbow Dash yelling the word 'daddy'. But it slowly faded as I drift into the darkness. "Be strong now my daughter, I shall always watch upon you." I whispered. //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue Epilogue I opened my eyes, and the first thing I saw was Celestia's sun, slowly setting down. The thing that bothered me is that it didn't hurt my eyes. I noticed that I was laying down on a cloud. I looked around and saw a house made out of cloud behind me. Upon longer inspection, I noticed that it was my own house. "I'm back!!!" I exclaimed. "Dashy!!!" I called out as I search for her inside the house. She was not in the living room, nor the kitchen. I rushed upstairs and into her room. I saw her with her mother on her bed. She and her mother was already asleep. Rainbow Dash's eyes were bloodshot, maybe because of crying. Her mother's white coat was soaking wet, that also goes for her red and yellow mane. I walked towards them. "Honey," I said as I tried to place a hoof on her shoulder. "I'm ho-..." my hoof went through her shoulder. I retracted my foreleg and gave them a look. "What's going on?" I thought to myself as I examined my hoof. Rainbow Dash suddenly opened her eyes. She stared at me blankly before she spoke a word. "Daddy?" she whispered. Rainbow Dash turned to her mother and tried to wake her up. "Mommy, mommy!!!" Rainbow Dash chanted excitedly. My wife opened her eyes slowly and turned to Rainbow Dash. "What is it Dashy?" my wife asked while rubbing her eye with a hoof. "Daddy's home!!!" Rainbow Dash yelled as she pointed a hoof towards me. My wife gave me a look of confusion for a few seconds before turning back to Rainbow Dash, who's giving her a big smile. "Oh-uh... You must be dreaming there Dashy," my wife patted Rainbow Dash's head. "Daddy's gone." she gave Rainbow Dash a sheepish smile. Rainbow Dash turned to me, and then cocked her head. "I'm sure Daddy's here just a second ago." Rainbow Dash said as she lowered her head. "Oh come on now Dashy, don't be sad. Daddy just needs to go somewhere else for a moment." my wife laid Rainbow Dash back on the bed. "Now sleep tight my little filly, I'm just going to make dinner." Rainbow Dash nodded and turned her back on my direction. My wife got off Rainbow Dash's bed, and walked towards the door. I followed her outside of the room. After my wife got out of Rainbow Dash's room, she took a deep breath and let out a long sigh. "How am I gonna tell Rainbow Dash that her father is already dead?" my wife asked herself as she headed downstairs. I stopped for a moment, trying to understand what my wife had just said. Memories started to flash inside of my head. My memory of getting crushed by a boulder. "Am I already dead?" the question that kept repeating itself inside of my head. I inspected my hoof again, and saw myself slowly fading away. "No, I can't be dead, I have a daughter to support!" I quickly ran back into Rainbow Dash's room. "Dashy!!!" Rainbow Dash didn't respond, for she was already asleep. I slowly walked towards her. "Dashy?" she shifted herself. "Daddy," Rainbow Dash whispered even though she was past asleep. "I love you..." she shifted herself again. Her closed eyes, now facing me. I lowered my muzzle down onto her forehead and planted a kiss. I backed away from her, and saw her face with a smile. "I love you too Dashy." the final words I had ever said to her even though she didn't heard me.
