Young lady
We are not amused.
Load Full StoryIt was always the same routine. After doing this so many times over the past few years, she almost managed to ignore the hangover when she first opened her eyes. It was fun remembering the scene when she opened her eyes, and how she could have gotten there.
Almost everytime there was a random guy (occationaly girl) that she'd never seen before lying next to her topless. It wasn't a bad way to wake up on a sunday morning. Today as she opened her eyes she saw that butterfly obsessed girl that lived in that woodland cottage on the edge on town, nerviously prodding her friend Rainbow into consiouness on the other side of the garden.
She was friends with Rainbow, they had gone out brifely, maybe had a drunked fling that neither could remember, but overall just friends. Rainbow murmered somthing about bloody pengwins and pulled the pillow over her rainbow covered head.
Vinyl didn't have the faintest idea who the guy sleeping next to her was. He had shoulder length orangy hair and a kind of ruggedly handsome look about him. Must be a Apple, she thought as she got up from the bed careful not to wake anyone.
She hadn't actuly thrown this party, she had just been invited by Pinkie who had thrown it.
Pinkie told her that she worked to hard and she just wanted her to come to the party as a friend, no DJ kit.
Well, she and Pinkie were probaly the two best party throwers in Equestria, why shouldn't she stop working every once and a while? Not that her work was hard. Or that she wasn't good at it.
She walked out of the house. It was exactly 9:12AM according to her recently recovered phone. She had always been a early riser, and she wasn't going to let a little alchole get in her way. She got to her car (parked a safe distance away), and drove across town to her house.
Where were her parents this week? Mom...mom was in Canterlot visiting that...that thing. And dad was in Canterlot as well doing what advisers do best: advise. So she was home alone again. Not that she minded, on the contrary she loved it.
She could come home with a hundered boys for all her parents cared. Besides, she'd be moving out soon. Just a bit more in the bank and she was out of here and on her way to Las Pegasus.
Sure she loved it here and all, but she wanted to be more than a small town DJ, she wanted to be a big city DJ. She needed a new crowd and bigger clubs. Las pegasus ticked all the boxes as far as she could tell. She was meant to be moving in three weeks now, tomorrow she would get the paycheck that would complete her savings and the rest was just sorting out moving details. She hadn't actuly told her parents she was going, what would they care if she joined Luna on the moon? (not that she was there anymore. Oh well, more moon for her).
She pulled up outside the house and fished around in the car for a key. She had lost her bag at Sugar cube courner, but Pinkie would send it to her tomorrow.
She swaggered into her parents considerable manstion and was about to make her way up the marble staricase when she saw two figures at the foot of it.
Her mother had long midnight hair that rolled down her neck and cut of just above her elbows. She was wearing a tight knee length white dress and a very disaproving grimmace.
Her father had short spiky hair. It was power blue so that it almost looked white. He was still wearing his signature black suite and turquoise tie. He looked tiredly disapointed.
If you took a picture of her two famous politician parents, you would never guess her to be their daughter.
The DJ, the one who fell down drunk every saterday night and had featured in more than a few of the more dirty magazines.
She, the daughter of Celestia's person adviser and Canterlots leading fashion designer.
But right now she was just shocked of why they were here and not in Canterlot, where they speant ninty nine percent of their time.
She decided to play it casual and act like they had walked in on her.
She leant against the doorway and folded her arms.
"Why're you back?" she asked, examining a chipped nail.
"Where were you last night?" Asked her mother, not moving.
"At Sugarcube courner."
"And what were you doing at Sugarcube courner?"
She sighed, exasperated. "Mom, it's none of your buissness what I do in my free time." She said this in the kind of finality that said this conversation was over.
She might as well try.
Her mother looked slightly hysterical.
"It is my buissness, if it lands you on page 34 of this." She pulled out a magazine. It was the kind of magazine that yong boys looked at as if to prove their entrance to manhood. It was the kind of magazine that the 'good kids' sniffed at. It was the exact opposite of the kind of magazine that her parents wanted her to be in.
On the cover was a picture of the captain of the wonderthingies. She was completely naked exept for the goggles on her head. The caption above her read: 'COME FLY WITH THE WONDERBOLTS! FRONT COVER SPECIAL ON THE PLAYFUL CAPTAIN"
under it was a smaller picture. This one showed her. She had a bottle in one hand and somee guy in the other. He was attempting to take off her shirt while she was beaming drunkenly at the camera.
The caption above her picture read "SMALL TOWN PONYVILLE DJ ROCKS THE STAGE. VINYL SCRATCH ON PAGE 34!"
Her mother looked livid.
Vinyl wouldn't be surprised if she just disowned her on the spot, it would sure save her alot of trouble.
Her father spoke just before her mother lunged at her.
"Vinly, we know you're good at what you do. But isn't this a little too far?" He sat down on the stairs and rubbed his head werily.
She sighed, she had to hide her panic and pretend this conversaton wasn't worth her time.
"How is it my fault if somone decided to send that fucking picture to the press?"
"It's not that it was published-"
"But that didn't exactly help this family's image!" Interjected her mother. "It's just good luck that none of my clients read that trash." She
