Maybe I don't want to let go
Fluttershy felt panic. Thats all she felt now a days, really. Her heart pounding in her chest, the cries for help Pinkie Pie emitted before leaving the hospital. With an insecure gulp, Fluttershy walked into the tall, white building before her. The smell hit her instantly: the scent no other than death.
Fluttershy felt herself wanting to lay down and cry again. But she held her head strong. She walked through the building, growing more nervouse as she felt the gaze of sick and griefing ponies watch her as she continued to stride towards the big doors blocking her entrance to the hospital rooms. She lifted a hoof shakily before pushing it open. As the doors gently clicked together, she dashed. She sprinted across the halls, avoiding nurses along with way. She had to see Pinkie again, she had to! And because of her shyness, she couldn't express what she felt for the party mare.
She rounded a turn and continued to bolt through the halls before stumbling through room 121. Fluttershy felt her breath catch in her throat at her friends condition.
Pinkie Pie laid limp on a simple bed, with her head the slightest elevated up. Her deflated pink mane was scattered around her, messily as she appeared as though she seemed to be in a deep sleep.
Fluttershy entered the room timidly.
"P-Pinkie Pie!?" Fluttershy called softly, running to her side as she layed her hoof on the Pink mares hoof. Her hoof belows hers was a deathly cold, colder than a winter night.
"Fluttershy!" A deep voice called her name from behind. Flutter looked up at a doctor, who was glaring at her.
"What did I tell you about coming in without any premission!? Out! Out of this room!" He scolded, as Fluttershy timidly slunk past him outside the room.
"I don't want you going in! She's not doing very well and she's not in a very good condition for visitors!" he snapped, before walking away angrily, leaving the yellow mare in tears.
"Are you ok?" Fluttershy looked up from her teary eyed at a familiar face. The face of a friend, and that pony was Rarity.
"Rarity! Pinkie's doing worse than before!" Fluttershy exclaimed, breaking into sobs onto the white unicorns coat.
She felt Rarity draw back from before her, as her tears soaked into the mares coat.
"Oh I'm sorry darling .." Rarity said, bringing Fluttershy closer to her.
Fluttershy continued to cry hopelessly into the unicorns lap, as she gently stroked Fluttershys messy pink mane.
"Pinkie's going to be ok .. Shh ... Pinkies ok .." Rarity continued to sooth as Flutters cries died down.
"W-Wheres the other girls?" Fluttershy stuttered, attempting to look up at Rarity.
"Applejack is taking care of Granny Smith .. Twilight, you know .. is in Canterlot, and Rainbow is looking for Scootaloo... Scoots disappeared last night after a fight between her and Applebloom" Raritys voice trailed off.
Fluttershy didn't respond.
"But Dash should be coming as soon as she finds Scootaloo" Rarity said, a little more upbeat.
Fluttershy looked away, avoiding Raritys gaze.
"Shes not going to be ok... is she" Fluttershy whispered.
Rarity blinked sadly away. She knew it was true, but she didn't want to upset Fluttershy.
"No no ... Pinkie ... she'll be alright" Rarity said slowly, unconvincenly.
Fluttershy snuggled into Rarity, letting her emotions out.
"H-how do YOU know?" Fluttershy asked, sitting up.
Rarity opened her mouth, but closed it when no words came out.
"Exactly. You don't" Fluttershy said, before turning her attention back to the metal door that seperated them from Pinkie.
"Excuse me" The familiar voice of Doctor Atmosphere, Pinkies doctor, called from behind.
Fluttershy side stepped to let him through, but then let out a few words.
"Um, wait please" She said, as the doctor turned to face her with an impatient glare. His almost red eyes bore into her, hoping she would just spit it out.
"Uh, what is Pinkie sick with, anyway?" Fluttershy asked.
Doctor Atmosphere sighed.
"Bad diabetes. And a case of buck worm. We think the buck worm infected her through an apple" He said, bored.
"Whats buck worm?"
"A worm that lives in your lower abdomen , that eats away at your insides. In bad conditions, it can affect more than one part."
Fluttershy drew a step back.
"S-so you're saying my friend has a bug that will eat her alive?" Fluttershy asked, drawing back in terror.
Doctor Atmosphere nodded.
Fluttershy fainted on the spot.
Fluttershy opened her eyes. A simple, white note layed just ahead of her. The yellow Pegasi sat up, and opened the sheet of paper.
Dear Fluttershy,
I'm sorry I had to leave, Sweetiebelle was in trouble. I'm not sure what happened, but I'll be back as soon as possible

Fluttershy put the note down, and stared back at Pinkies room.
The yellow mare looked down. That feeling inside her told her that Pinks didn't have much time left. She stood up tall, and took a breath. As she slowly walked towards the door, she paused.
'For Pinkie' she thought.
For Pinkie.
She turned around, gathering all her strength. Taking a breath, she bucked at the glass seperating her from her friend as hard as she could. The window shattered easily. Fluttershy turned around and hopped into the room.
Pinkie still was on the bed, as if nothing had just happened.
"Pinkie!" Fluttershy dashed towards her friend, and sat beside her.
"Oh Pinkie Pie" Fluttershy cried.
Fluttershy wept until Pinkie stirred the slightest.
"Pinkie?"
"F-Fluttershy?" Pinkie asked hoarsely,. Her voice was weak, yet held strong.
"Oh P-Pinkie .."
"Fluttershy ... That is you" Pinkie whispered.
"Fluttershy ... I'm scared" Pinkie said quietly, as Fluttershy noticed her blue eyes tearing up with tears for the last time.
"Shh .. Shh it's okay .." Fluttershy said sadly, as she knew she was scared herself.
"Don't be scared .. Be strong .. For me .. Okay?" Fluttershy said, her voice was quivering as she knew what was going to happen next.
Pinkie looked at her, through her half closed eyes.
"I will ... I'm not as scared anymore" Pinkie said as a small smile escaped her lips.
Fluttershy gripped Pinkies hoof.
"I don't want to let go though .." Pinkie said, her voice was getting weaker and weaker by the second.
"HEY? WHOSE IN THERE?" Voices called from outside the room, as Fluttershy knew she didn't have much time with Pinkie.
"Me neither .. But we're going to have to .. For now, okay?" Fluttershy said desperately.
"I- ... I'm going now ... E-Everything is fading ... I'll see you in h-heaven ... I-I'm sorry I never told you this F-Fluttershy .. But I love you" Pinkie whispered so quietly, Flutter had to angle her ears.
"I-I love you too ..." That was all it took. Tears escaped her emerald eyes.
"Don't cry .. Don't be scared for me .. I'll be in a better place .. And we'll reunite together .. Later .. I'll be waiting for you up in the stars ... I love you forever, Fluttershy ... Goodbye, my love .. " Pinkie uttered out her last words, as the light in her eyes started to die out.
"SHE'S IN THERE!" The voices from down the hall grew near, as she saw silhouettes from the wall outside Pinkies room.
One by one, guard ponies came in, and took Fluttershy captive. She didn't even fight it, and the noise around her was all faded as if she was under water. The only thing she could hear clearly, was:
