Dear Princess Celestia,
As I gaze into the deep, night sky dotted with stars that Luna has brought tonight, I ask myself the question. What would it be like if we switched places? What would you do with your life? Who would you meet? Where would you go? There are many more questions, but we do not really know the answer to them. We think we know each other well, but we do not. It is not like we know what will happen and how we will live, change and prosper in the world that we end up in. This will probably not happen, but the questions still swirl around in my brain, and I do not think they will ever go away.
What feeds into this is the question of life. How do you get to live longer than the rest of us? Is it the way that you were born? The way you lived as a foal? Or is it just the fact that you are a princess?
How do you cope with losing the many friends you have gained over the years? I like to think that you would never give up, but suspect you do. One day, which will come soon, you will lose me. I will just be a number. A number of how many friends you had but are now gone. I don’t want you to be sad. I want you to think of all the happy things that you and I have done. You and I have done so much together. You taught me magic, and you told me to never give up hope. You inspired me to become who I am today, and who I will ever be.
I never forget the elements of harmony. Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Myself. We saved Equestria so many times. We became friends, and we had fun and laughter. We defeated Discord. We defeated Nightmare Moon. We defeated Queen Chrysalis and the Changelings. We did so many things! I am really sad that they are now gone. I am the only one left. The sole survivor as it were. I brought us all together, saved us from breaking apart, but now I cannot do anything to break the curse of death. No pony can do that. Soon, I will leave too. The elements are already safe in the hands of another generation. Hopefully, they will not be needed for a long time, but we will never know.
I learned so much because of you. Before I came to Ponyville, before you sent me that letter, I thought I would never need friends. But look at me now! I am recalling the memories I would have never had if it was not for you!
I wish that live could live here forever, but I cannot. I want to be with you, helping you rule over Equestria. But I cannot. I have to be here. Helping the citizens of Ponyville is my job and my life. Spike still helps me, but seeing he is a big boy now he cannot help me as much. Soon, I will need to go and join my friends in heaven, but I will never forget you.
There are many things that you should never forget about yourself. You kindness, your wisdom, the fact you are always there for every pony. They are just a few things about of the very many that you should never forget. You have Luna, you have Cadence and you will never be alone. Never, ever forget that.
I am thankful of what you have done for me. You put your life aside, just for me. To help me, to care for me. Thank you.
My studies on friendship have now come to an end, so i can come to you with an conclusion.
Friendship is magic. Nothing can replace that. Every time you are with friends time will drift away. You will have fun, you will have laughter and you will never forget them. It is like they are always a part of you, ever after they are gone. I will never forget the time i first saw my friends, while defeating nightmare moon, the spark witch clicked inside of me witch brought as all here together. Although the times will be though, friendship is always worth fighting for. Yes, i have told you that before, but that fact still stands. It is, and it always will be. That how it shall will be, forever.
All them times i have helped you, ponyville and you helped me. I like that, and i cant fit enough good words onto this letter to express that.
All i will say, however, is thank you. Thank you for everything.
My life is now coming to an end. I know that. I have no idea when i shall go, to join my friends and the countless other ponys who are now gone. I want to tell you something. I shall always watch you. I shall always be there when times are rough. I shall be the one star in the sky that is the brightest, that small cloud in the sky and many more things you dont think of. I shall always be there, in your mind, in your heart.
I remember when i was a little filly, you came to me, saying that i was to be your student. My parents jumped up and down with glee, pleading me to adept the chance the be your most faithful student. You succeeded in your task, but you continued to help me blossom into the mare i am today.
I need to end this now, the memories have become to much. If you chould see me now, you would see that i am crying my eyes out. I miss my friends way to much and soon i shall have to leave you.
This will be my final letter, as i have compelted my task, so for the final time i will say my goodbye.
