It was a cloudless spring day in Equestria , and Fluttershy was out in her front yard feeding the animals, singing a song to the animals, the birds sang along, the animals were swarming her, A mouse crawled up her leg to her shoulders, birds flew down to her face and began singing, and deer even came up to her for food she began giggling at this uncontrollably.
She was a young mare at only eighteen and extremely shy, so she never had a colt friend, though she knew she had the looks to get a colt friend if she played her cards right, Rarity told her just about every time they went to the spa.
occasionally a couple of stallions would hit on her she'd turn them down because of nervousness, she was simply to too shy she had a friend she would have loved to call her special some pony but she hadn't seen him in year's, and she had given up on ever seeing him again years ago, she hadn't even remember thought of him in year's, and today was no exception.
She had a large crush on her best friend Applejack's brother, Big Macintosh, she never talked to him though, she was too shy, and never thought he'd ask her to be his very special somepony either, he was just a crush.
All of a sudden, she heard the sound of clopping hooves stepping noisily on twigs a distance away behind her, and as if by instinct looked behind her nervously.
she saw a Pegasus stallion, he had black fur, green eyes, a white mane which was neatly brushed to the side of his head, also he wore a fancy tuxedo why he'd be wearing a tuxedo right outside Ponyville she did not know
She saw him quite attractive, something often felt by her, though she was a bit picky when it came to finding her special some pony, and the very thought made her face go the same fur color as big mac.
The stallion smiled at her making her turn even redder as she tried to hide in her mane.
The stallion chuckled a bit at this, causing the shy mare to let out a squeak. "Hello there" he said smiling at her.
she noticed his voice was deep making her blush more at his stallionlyness. "um...h...hello" Fluttershy mumbled shyly.
"do you know where I am? I'm a little lost." you see I'm supposed to be going to Sweet apple acres but I don't know where it is, can you please help me the stallion said with a sheepish grin on his face."
O-oh, y-yes of course"...she mumbled out of hearing range of even a dog.
The stallion looked nervous as he asked" Umm, excuse? what did you say Ms."? the stallion asked Fluttershy with an eye brow raised.
Fluttershy sighed, "this always happens, I hate repeating myself, but I hate talking loud to strangers even more, I better try again", Fluttershy decided to repeat herself as she mumbled a bit louder, but still barely audible, "um...I said, yes, I can help you sir..."
the stallion took a step closer as he asked, "what?"
Fluttershy practically got down to her belly as she backed away in fear of the stallion.
The stallion stopped as he put up his wings and said, "whoa, calm down, I'm not going to hurt you, I merely need directions to Sweet apple acres, if you don't know, then please speak up and say so and I'll leave your property and you'll never see me again, I promise, but if you do know where Sweet apple acres is, please, help me out, I've traveled all the way from Canterlot by wing none stop for three days and my wings are too cramped to fly any longer so I have to walk now, all because the trains are not going to be in Canterlot for another four to five weeks, I'm exhausted and I ask for nothing but directions."
Fluttershy looked at him with sympathy as she stood up and said, "oh, I had know idea, you said you were looking for Sweet apple acres? It's about ten miles from here, just go through Ponyville which is nine miles and one more to Sweet apple acres, but before you leave, please come in and rest, it's not healthy for anypony to fly that far without resting your body at least once, and you said you didn't rest for even a moment."
The stallion waved shook his head as he stepped back a bit and said, "oh no ,no ,no that's really not necessary ma'am I just needed directions, I'll be on my way now", as he quickly turned around to run off.
However, Fluttershy was not having any of it, as she grabbed his tail firmly in her mouth and said between clenched teeth, "no, I can't let you go on so fatigued, you'll have to stay the night here until your able to go on", she said with all of the stubbornness AJ or Rainbow Dash could have, if not more, if he wanted to be stubborn she'd force herself to do the same.
The stallion looked at her annoyed as if he'd drag her with him through his stubbornness, but to her surprise he took a deep breath as he smiled at her, "he's not as stubborn as I thought I guess", but the stallion quickly proved that wrong as he said, "no" and began dragging her with him around her yard.
Fluttershy tried to make it harder as she dug her hooves into the soil and pulled, but it really was useless as he showed he still had energy, and she wasn't very strong to begin with unless angered, and at the moment, she was not angry, just really annoyed at how stubborn he was, it was as if he was related to Applejack herself.
What's more, they were scaring the animals away, and Fluttershy quickly noticed this, "okay, this ends, now."
Fluttershy quickly let go of the stallion's tail as she had decided to try to explain to him again why he needed to rest.
The Stallion looked at her confused as he said, "why'd you let go? Are you letting my go no my way now?"
"No, I'm going to explain to you why you need rest, your body is stressed, and if you keep pushing it too hard you'll hurt yourself, badly", then remembered what Rarity had said once, "when all else fails with a stallion, give him the puppy eye's, any stallion worth dating can't resist it", Fluttershy sighed," well worth a try, right?" as she gave him her best puppy eye's she could muster and stuck her lip out to finalize it as she said, "please?"
The stallion looked at her as he groaned and said, "fiine!"
Fluttershy mentally sque'ed as she said, "okay, come with me inside."
The stallion nodded as he followed her but quickly said, "how about I help you with your yard first, you were working on it right?"
Fluttershy turned back to the stallion as she said, "um...yes?"
The stallion nodded as he said, "well, can I help?"
"No, you need your rest", Fluttershy said firmly.
The stallion persisted however as he said, "come on, I can rest later, you could be done early and we can talk while I rest."
Fluttershy looked unsure as she said, "well, I could use some help with the chickens and lot's of other things thing's too..."
The stallion smiled as he said, "great, so I can help you with that, I promise you won't regret it."
Fluttershy looked even more unsure, normally when somepony said that she wouldn't regret something, she did.
There was an awkward silence for a moment, the stallion kept looking at her expectantly until finally he said, "well?"
"O-oh! I-I'm sorry, um...I guess so...but after wards you go get straight in bed", she said firmly expecting her commands to be brought out without falter.
The stallion nodded as he said, "deal and they quickly got to work"
Two hours later
Normally it would take about two hours for Fluttershy to get all the chores done, but with Echoheart's help, it took only thirty minutes to do, now they were inside Fluttershy's house talking over dinner, telling stories and getting to know each other while enjoying each others company.
Fluttershy had found out that the stallion's name was Echoheart, and that he was also eighteen, and lived on a farm, according to him, he was Applejack's cousin, and had been requested to visit her since he was rarely did so and Applebloom had never met him before, and was also a pianist who lived in a large mansion in Canterlot, and the tuxedo was one of Rarity's designs, which was very interesting and impressive.
she looked at the stallion shyly giving him a small yet beautiful smile saying "W-well that certainly explains why your so stubborn, and why you wear a tuxedo in the middle of nowhere."
The stallion gave a carefree laugh as he said, "yeah, I've never really been as stubborn as the rest of my family though, and I love this tuxedo, it makes me look and feel smart, by the way, thanks for making me stay here Fluttershy", he said with a chuckle which turned to a carefree laugh.
Fluttershy blushed intensely as she said, "oh, um...of course , as tried to hide behind her mane."
The stallion yawned as he covered his mouth with his hoof.
Fluttershy quickly remembered he was exhausted as she perked up and said, "oh! I'm so sorry, I completely forgot how tired you must be, here, let me show you to my bed."
Echoheart looked nervous as he said, "um..."
Fluttershy blushed as she realized what he was getting at as she said, "oh no, I'll be sleeping on the couch tonight, just make yourself at home Echoheart."
Echoheart shook his head as he said, "uh, no your not, I am it's your house, that and if I let you sleep on the couch while I'm in a bed I couldn't call myself a gentlecolt."
Fluttershy shook her head as she said, "no your sleeping in my bed and that's final."
Echoheart chuckled as he said, "look seriously I don't want to sleep in your bed alright? It's not right for a stallion to sleep in a bed while a mare sleeps on a couch, especially in her own house."
Fluttershy stopped and smiled a bit as she said, "your dad taught you to respect mares I see."
Echoheart chuckled as he said, "yeah, but it's common sense for anypony to let the owner of a house sleep in his or her bed when a guest, even when offered."
Fluttershy nodded as she said, "okay, ready to go to bed? Cause I'm sleeping on the couch, not you."
Echoheart sighed as he said, "fine."
And so Fluttershy guided him up to her bed room and slept on the couch.
