Chapters Darkness. That was all there was. The creature didn't know how long he had been here or where he was for that matter. The creature suspected at least two months had passed. Its dark everywhere, well except for it's necklace. It was a red crystal with string strapped around it. It was the only light source here. The crystal glows with unknown powers that could be dangerous,but for some reason it seems as though the creature knew what it can do. The creature frowns. The creature knew that he has used this thing before, but he just don't know how. Its getting really boring around here. The creature thought this would never end, but he was sorely mistaken. The darkness pealed away slowly as if it was melting. Everything changed. The scene the creature was now looking at was a forest. A dark one at that. From the looks of the sky it was probably midnight. The creature felt a pouch strapped around it's waist. He looked inside and found a weeks supply of meat (surprisingly the pouch can keep a weeks worth of meat as fresh as the day you put it in as long as you want). Also a piece of paper that said "Your name: Dray Morningstar. Species: Dragon/Changeling. Powers: Unknown. Age: Thirteen." Dray didn't know what a changeling was, but he am sure about the rest. He tucked the paper in his pouch and set of in some unknown direction.
Three hours later. Dray haven't gotten out of the forest just yet. Slowly he started to smell something. It was a slightly bitter smell that carried the scent of death. 'Oh Crap'. Dray rushed to past bushes and trees to come to a very disturbing site. It was a griffon....a badly wounded griffon. She had a broken wing, the top half of her beak had a ship missing, and she had a deep cut almost everywhere. I didn't know what to do. Dray started to panic. Just then Dray's necklace glowed a light green color. He had a flashback
Dray was in a scene exactly like this before. He was sitting next to a badly wounded griffon. With arms held towards her. His hands started to glow a bright green light. Slowly the wounds started to close. Relief started to wash over him. The griffon would be safe now.
The flash back ended and Dray knew what he had to do. He held out his claws as a feeling soon washed over me. Streams of light green waves wrapped around the griffon. Dray could see her cuts slowly and black stuff coming out of them. 'I guess that the cuts were infected' Dray thought. Her wing snapped back into place and then she woke up from the intense pain. The light green glow faded while Dray's crystal returned to It's normal color.
"Urgh what did you do to me dweeb." the griffon demanded sounding very weak. "Don't talk. You need all of your strength to get out of here. Your wounds aren't fully healed so take it easy." Dray warned the griffon. She tried to stand up, but fell right back down due to her pain. Dray felt sorry for the poor thing. He went over and picked her up, putting her left arm over his right shoulder. "What do you think you doing dweeb. Put me down now or I'm going ....to.....kill you." She mumbled as she went in and out of consciousness . Dray smiled "Well your just going to have to kill me then. Your hurt and with no one else around here you need medical help. Do you know the nearest town." He asked. She was just quiet. They walked slowly because of the fact that the griffon's hind legs were sore from the healing process. Dray didn't notice this before, but this griffon had some purple feathers around her eyes and some purple on the tips of her top feathers.
Dray put the griffon on the ground. "What...are...you..doing?" She asked. Clearly she was tired as crap. "I'm collecting fire wood." Was Dray's response. After a few minutes he had collected a decent pile of fire wood. 'Now if only I could lite it.' he thought. Dray's necklace glowed red. It flashed a red light into the surroundings around them until it landed on a spot a few feet away
Dray found two stones sitting a where the light spotted. 'I hope this works." Dray thought as he went to go pick up the rocks. Dray rubbed the two stones together then smashed them together. A couple of sparks flew out onto the firewood where it caught on fire almost instantly. Dray sat down and pulled out some meat. Pushed a stick threw it and roasted it over the fire. The smell of meat cooking filled the air. It was at least half an hour before it was ready. Dray took half and gave the other half to the griffon. We ate in silence, until the griffon spoke. "Gilda." She said softly. "What?" Dray asked. "My name is Gilda. The closest town is Ponyville. A place full of dweebs and I don't want to talk about the rest. If we continue to follow those blue flowers," Gilda pointed to a patch of blue flowers. "We should get there soon." Gilda finished. Dray thought it over for a minute."Nice to meet you Gilda. My name is Dray Morningstar." He said. Gilda nodded and headed off to dreamland. Dray stayed up a little while longer. He started to smell something. He smelt water. Maybe a yard away. Dray walked over to it.
With the pale moonlight and the light from the fire Dray was able to see his features. He was most definetly a dragon, but he had an exoskeleton as well as an endoskeleton. Dray's exoskeleton was pure black, he also had a red part on his back. It didn't look like blood.He hope it wasn't. Dray also had black, long, spiky hair that went down my spine and onto my tail.
The next two things really surprised him. He had fur on his claws. Grey fur to be precise. Next were his eyes. They were a golden yellow. It took all of Dray's will power to not fall victim to there powers. He had to get back to the campsite for tomorrow they head for Ponyville.

What not to do to a mad Twilight
The warm rays of the sunlight leaked through the dense treetops. Dray woke up and yawn. He sat on the ground for a few minutes to get myself up and ready for today. He guesses he’s not that much of a morning person. There was still a few pieces of firewood left so he started to cook breakfast. Just like what he did last night, as he cooked the food and the smell of cooking meat filled the air.
Gilda started to move around in her sleep. Dray smiled. She looked so cute when she slept just like.... a friend..... he used to have. Flashback. It was dark and lonely. Dray was sad too. There wasn't any help coming, no chance of survival, and a zero percent chance that someone was going to just come by and see him suffering. He started to cry. The tears stung his eyes. Why was he always the one to suffer? Why did it have to be him? For what felt like hours of endless suffering ended when a light melted away the darkness. A claw reached out almost inviting. Seeing a way out of here, Dray ran for it, but the moment they connected hands it was over.
Dray was shaken from his trance by a screaming griffon known as the lovely Gilda. "-ND IF I EVER SEE YOU STARING AT ME WHILE I'M SLEEPING AGAIN I WILL GUT YOU ALIVE!" She screamed at him. ‘WOW that girl has some massive lungs.’, he thought, "Sorry. Its just that looking at you invoked some old memories." He said, hoping that she wasn't going to yell at him again. Gilda let go of him and grabbed her breakfast, while grunting "Perv!". He noticed that she was able to walk slowly on her own now. After they ate, Gilda and Dray started to head for the town.
Along the way Gilda told Dray about the blue flowers and that they were called “Poison Joke”. He started to ask lots of question after that; like: why were they here, what are they used for, where do they grow, and other stuff. "Does it look like I'm a plant nerd to you?" She asked him with an annoyed voice. "Um.....no." he replied. "Than stop asking me STUPID QUESTIONS. GEES DIDN'T YOUR PARENTS TEACH YOU ANYTHING!" Now that hit a sour spot on Dray’s ego.
He stopped. "I don't remember my parents. Or I can't remember them because their dead, or something; I really don't know." Dray said sadly as he looked down. Gilda looked back at him with pity. ‘ I can’t see her, but I know she is looking at my with pity’, he thought grimly. Dray could hear her as she stepped toward me. Her talons lifted up his teary face. Gilda’s face, was a face full of sadness. "Listen. I'm..........sorry. I just went through an argument with my best friend that I had since flight-camp. I'm a mental hazard right now, and a near death experience doesn't help either. If I start to say stuff that bothers you..... act tough dude. Your not going to get very far in this world by acting soft all the time." Gilda said with a smile. Dray smiled back.
As they walk off she said to him "And don't expect me to act like that again: it was a one time thing. Also, if you mention this to anyone; I will rip out your spine and use it as a toothpick." Gilda said as she laughed at his facial expression. Two hours later. Gilda and Dray had reach the town by mid-morning. There were ponies of all colors everywhere with weird marks on their flanks. Dray walked up to a little pony with a white coat and light purple and pink curly hair. The pony didn't have a mark on her flank.
"Hello. My friend here and I are looking for a hospital do you know where to find one?”, he asked. "Sure its......" The little pony talked in a girl's voice, making Dray think that she’s female. She screamed at the top of her lungs and ran away. The rest of the town followed suit. “I didn't know what the heck happened.” Dray said. Gilda fell down to the ground in pain. "Gaw! Stupid leg!" She partly yelled. Dray helped her onto a bench. "Here let me take a look it.'' he said as he observed her wounded leg. One of the cuts had reopened. It wasn't a very deep cut, but deep enough for a person to have a handicap for a while. Dray started to heal the wound, when he got the wind clean knocked out of him.
He was sent flying for about ten feet into the air. Dray landed right on his left arm. It took a few seconds for him to get a hold of what hit me. It was a cyan pony with rainbow hair. He could tell she was female, but her hair gave her a tomboyish look. Dray then saw five more ponies coming into the fray. One with an orange coat and blond hair. She also wore a hat and her mark was three red apples. 'Hmmm. Must be a farmer.' He thought. The next one was whited coated pony with purple curly hair. 'That must be that little one's sister.' The pink one with a cotton candy hair style was just bouncing around the place. 'Oooookaay.' One that he couldn't really see: because she was hiding behind a purple pony with a straight purple hairstyle and pink highlights, a star surrounded by more stars as a mark.
"You guys get Gilda out of here. I'll deal with the changeling." The purple one said with a flare of anger in her eyes. "Twilight are ya sure 'bout this?" The farmer said. "Its only one changeling. I can handle it." Twilight said. "Okay darling, but don't make too much of a raucous." The white one said as she and the others headed off towards a hospital. It was just me and Twilight. "So I guess your name is Twilight." Dray said, while sweat dripped down his forehead. As a response Twilight shot of a magic blast that went past his face by mere centimeters and flew off into the forest. "That was a warning shot. The next one won't be if you don't get your changeling butt out of my town." She said as she charged another shot.
"Awww, But I was planning on destroying part of the town before I was forced out." he joked. She took it to heart. She shot an energy ball at him. Dray dived left as it almost hit him. "Listen I'm not trying to fight you." he tried to convince her. She just smiled and charged straight at him. He jumped onto her back and leaped into the air. He then came up with an idea. He charged his own energy . “Pyro Needles times three!" Dray yelled. Three needles of fire headed for the lavender pony. She used her magic to deflect the needles. 'Dang it.'. He landed on the ground and started to ran down the street. 'Got to get a plan. Hmmm maybe if I...' his thoughts were interrupted by a purple magic blast to the back.
The half-changeling was sent rolling for about ten yards! 'MAN WHAT IS THIS PONY PACKING?' He thought. He got up in time to be sent flying again! This time Dray skid to a stop and sent three more needles her way. "Don't you changelings ever learn?" She said mockingly. Twilight put up a force field ready to deflect the needles, but instead of hitting her they plowed into the dirt road in front of her and exploded a mound of dirt five feet into the sky. This gave Dray enough time to run away, again. As the dust cleared he saw a whole new pony. One with a pale white coat and had FLAMES FOR A MANE. She shot rapid magic shots at him from a long distance. Dray used his pyro needles to block each blast, blow by blow. The mare known as Twilight was getting more annoyed by the second. She charged a huge amount of energy in her horn. 'How did I miss that? I guess trying to run for my life made me miss it.' Dray thought, in a anxiety. He felt a pressure in his throat, almost as if he was choking on a popcorn kernel.
Twilight sent a huge fire ball at the teenage dragon’s way. He opened his mouth to cough up the ‘thing’ that was in his mouth. He thought it would be some food or spit wad, but instead a big blue wall of fire. The magic fire ball collided with his firewall. The collision made both the fireball and firewall disappear. "Well thats new." He said. Dray was about to get up when he felt a hoof hit his stomach sending him flying into a perfectly placed wall. "Argh!" he screamed. A streak of blood leaked out of his mouth and nose. 'Okay I learned my lesson never mess with a mad Twilight... even....... if ....... you’re....... joking.' Were the black changeling’s last thoughts, as he fell back into the sweet embrace of darkness.

.This I what I'm doing from now on.I'm listing the powers of Dray at the end of every chapter. Hope you guys like it.
Dray woke up in a steel chair. His arms were strapped to the arms of a chair and his legs were strapped to the front legs of it. The straps were strapped tightly, Dray thought he could feel his hands lose all blood flowing through them. There was a table in front of him and another chair. A door opened to his left. A little dragon came walking in. He had green spine, they looked well trimmed and spiky, and purple scales. 'Wow. Did not expect that.' Dray thought. The dragon climbed into the chair opposite of him. "Hey there. I'm Spike!" He said with a smile. Dray said "Hi." in response.
"I've heard that you got into a fight with Twilight. Bad Idea man." Spike said shaking his head. "I was just joking. I didn't mean for the whole thing to turn into a fight." Dray answered. "One thing you need to know about Twilight is that she doesn't kid around when it comes to changelings."
"What’s a changeling?" he asked. Spike looked at him like he sprouted three heads. "What? I really don't know what a changeling is."
"You mean you weren't sent by the hive?"
"What hive?"
Spike seemed to be calculating the information Dray just fed him. "If you didn't come for that hive did you come from another one?" Spike asked, emphasizing on “that”. He was getting annoyed with all of these questions about hives and changelings, his features showing genuine indifference from the subject. "Listen, I don't know what you mean about hives. But, the only thing that I know: is that I woke up in a forest. Found a wounded griffon, healed her, found some of the memories that I seem to lack, got attacked by a pony with magic, and now being interrogated by a dragon." he retorted angrily. Dray made a pyro needle in his palm, and poked the strap with it. You could visibly see the strap tearing apart softly.
Spike calculated the bits of information again. "Do you remember anything before your woke up?" He asked. Dray thought hard for a moment. "I think so. I was....." His answer, and train of thoughts, was interrupted by a certain purple pony coming in the door with a timer." Spike your time is up its my turn now." Twilight said sternly to the baby dragon. "Twilight I was just about to get some more information, but you just had to barge in." Spike yelled.
"I can barge in whenever I want to. You said to give you ten minutes and ten minutes are up." Twilight yelled.Their childish argument gave the coal colored dragon hybrid enough time to rip through the straps and quickly unwrap his legs. The pony and dragon were shocked.
"How can you do that? This room is made to restrain all types of magic." Twilight asked in amazement. The dragon hybrid just shrugged while laughing on the inside. 'Wow she just gave me one of her weaknesses. Bad move' I thought. Animal instinct kicked in as it jumped onto the table and pounced out of the room thanks to the widely open door.
Dray ran down the hall with the pony and dragon chasing him. ‘Man how long is this hallway’ he pondered, while running for his “short life”. Up ahead was a staircase ‘Thank whichever god I worshipped before this.’.He ran up the stairs, which his my case was stupid because: when he got to the top to catch my breath his realized that there was an elevator in with him! 'OH COME ON!' He screamed a little inside. He ran again. this time there was an alarm going off with a dozen pony soldiers coming after him. 'Come on got to find a way out. Where. Where. WHERE! Oh wait theres one.' There was glass window right down the hall it was risk, but there is no way that his hide’s going to get captured by these ponies or anypony else. With his adrenaline failing him, he made one last jump with his arms above his face. The only thing he heard: was the sound of breaking glass and the sound of wings. A memory flashed before his eyes.
I was falling. I don't know how I don't know why. There was a ball of light in front of me. It looked so happy and friendly that I grabbed it. Suddenly a two pairs of wings grew from my back as I started to fly. It was a good feeling. It felt like nothing could ever touch me. Then everything turned black. Flashback over.
His crystal was glowing a bright white. With one flash he started to summon his technique.
Dray couldn't believe it. He had two pairs of insect wings and from the feeling of it, they were very strong. The winged ponies were still coming at him though, but with his newly found wings he flew off too fast before they could reach him. Dray looked back to see that the winged ponies had crashed into the ground below. It brought a smile to the hybrids face. Then he had a small chuckle escape from his mouth.
Then feeling that he was being followed Dray turned around and was met with a hoof flying towards his face. Reacting quickly he dodge a hoof attack from the cyan winged pony from earlier. "Nice moves changeling, but nice won't help you against the greatest fly in all of Equestria." She said. "Hmm the greatest flyer huh. Well I bet you won't beat me." Dray said with a dull face. Upon hearing the comment cyan mare became outraged. "WHAT!?!!? YOU THINK YOU CAN BEAT THE GREAT RAINBOW DASH AT A RACE. OH IT IS ON PAL. ONE, TWO, THREE GO!" Rainbow Dash screamed as she flew off into the distance leaving Dray behind.
Dray laughed at the pony for being so easy to trick. He had to fly off somewhere or Rainbow Dash would soon find out that she had been tricked. Looking into the distance Dray saw a town a few miles away. Dray flew into a back alley where his summoned parasprite disappeared. “Hmm. I guess this crystal has a certain amount of time that it can hold these techniques.” Dray said to himself. Soon after that a hunger pain ripped his body. “Augh. I guess its been a long time before I had something to eat.” Dray said to himself.
Reaching to his side to find his pouch of meat Dray gripped nothing. Then he tried his other side and again found nothing. Looking down he saw that his pouch was missing. "Dang it. Its not here. They must have taken it while I was knocked out. Hmm I'll have to go back before night sets in. Knowing them thats when they will expect me to come." Dray planned for a few minutes about getting his pouch back, but each one had a negative result. In the end Dray decided he would just wing it. The parasprite was would still be tired and he don't want to push the little guy too hard.
He was just going to have to climb up to the castle and get the pouch. Before he left his stomach growled again. Dray knew he would have to hurry. He didn’t know how long he had gone without a meal and he didn't think dying of starvation was the best way to die. Sneaking out of the town he reach the base of the mountain in which the castle was built onto and started to climb using his claws.

I am dreadfully sorry for those who actually enjoy this story, but I have to say it. I'm putting this story on hold. Here are the reasons why. One, I might rewrite it, same plot, same characters, same motion, just at a different P.O.V. Two I'm taking my time off of this story to write on my other story Dragon Chains. You are free to look at it if you wish. Three, Well I think that this story could have some better ratings, even though I know you can't please everyone, I'm not giving up on this story just yet. In a few weeks time I will continue or rewrite the story. I'm sorry if this disappoints some of you.
