//-------------------------------------------------------// Frozen World Guardian -by Ryonar Skystorm- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Twilight was sleeping in her room, lost in her dreams; pleasant or cruel, by the rules of her world. The stars shined upon her from the dark skies, giving their blessing to the Dreamers, the Wanderers and the Protectors. She laid asleep so sound and innocent, pure and untainted by the evil around her, a characteristic of most ponies. Yet shadows linger even in her sleeping realm of wonder, as well as her corporal world. Hidden in these shadows near the window was a creature, just a bit away from the moonlight, yet perfectly hidden and out of sight. His eyes were blue as the azure sky, yet frostbitten and cold. He was neither a man nor a wolf, a pony or bird; neither hunter nor prey. He sat there silent, with his sword that shimmered in the moonlight, casting pure rays of the moon's white light over the blade's edge. The blade was as pure as snow, seemingly never drawn blood with nothing to show of any battle or usage. But the innocence is just a trick, hidden by the cold rays of the moon. The shadows guard him from sight as he sharpens his weapon with a simple stone without a sound to pierce the night. He wasn't the only one who lurked in shadows as another being moved like a ghost through the air, eyes glowing red of hate. The creature floated over to Twilight's bed and positioned itself upon it her bed, with the dark haze shifting around it like dark storm clouds, ready to break thunder at any moment. He stared as the shadow started to take form into a human body, dressed in blue, with silver hair on one side. This "human" was upon her, wrath in her eyes shined with a blood red that cut the beams of the moon. She had a dagger in one hand and she started muttering something, quietly so her victim wouldn't wake up and try to escape. He heard everything and had long since stopped sharpening his katana, it now lied in his right hand while he was gathering energy. This is what she said: "You have made a fool of me many times Sparkle, you are the same as me yet they adore you while I became an outcast two times now. The time for revenge has come as the Great and Powerful Trixie will rid you of your rigid form and mortal bounds, to give me power and true freedom!" She said the last part with almost a normal sounding voice as she quickly lifted the blade above her head and let it descend like a blade of the guillotine. . . . It stopped. The blade was stopped somehow under the rays of the moon, now shining with sharp light that could cut through steel. The silver-haired woman looks around startled but finds nothing but shadows; the dark, cold shadows that were pressing around her tightly. A cold shiver went down her spine and a spark of fear burst when she saw it; those cold blue eyes that had no remorse, mercy or fear... an embodiment of the cold and cruel lands of frost glaciers and icy hands that reach from the ice as spikes. The icy winds howled to the horrifying tune of the winter blizzard, a song of her demise. She tried to cope with the fear she felt and launched a bolt of fire at the creature. The fire flowed over in streams of red, orange and yellow as it consumed the shadow, killing the beholder of fear. She tried to move her dagger but it was still frozen in the air, now frost was catching on it as the air around her grew colder. "A fatal mistake, girl." His voice was the sound of arctic winds raging and slashing at anything in their path. Before she could turn her head to see him, she was pinned to the floor by an icy gauntlet wrapped in chains. He stared into her eyes with the cold power he harbored, his hand placed on her chest. All she could do was stare at the bird carving on the gauntlet with a round blue sapphire in its center as it began to freeze her body to the floor. He muttered in her ear I will tell you once, insolent fool. I watch over her dreams and her corporal form when she is asleep, now if you try to do that... *calls up a silent gust of wind and blasts her into the wall after casting a mute sound spell on Twilight. He stared her in the eye with cold breaching through the icy walls of his heart. Those eyes knew no fear, remorse nor mercy...or love, just simple sorrow and hate. He watched her quake in fear there as he walked over with his katana Hiryu, the Everfrost, in one hand and his other bound in an icy gauntlet, wrapped in frostbitten chains. The air around them grew colder and his eyes became more and more filled with rage. She was trembling, ready to crack under simple fear. She knew he wouldn't show pity, mercy or remorse, and he had more than enough power to wipe her out of existence. He was like fire, ice and rage...* Get out and never come back, or the next time I won't be so kind. *...and kindness. She rushed out and never attempted that feat again, spreading word of the Icy Guardian of Twilight's dreams...* And remember my name when next you hear it, Grimzen or Kirion, cursed and blessed by frost, with no love to harbor any longer. *...the one lost in an icebound world.*
