//-------------------------------------------------------// Clash of Gods -by VunderGuy- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue Prologue: Above the planet of Equestria, higher than the trees, the clouds, indeed, all the layers of its atmosphere, was a coliseum of sorts. Approximately one thousands miles in diameter and made out of a material not naturally occurring on the barren to florid looking world below, it was currently host to millions of ponies. These ponies were divided between the forms of the earth ponies with their stone, diamond, or plant like bodies; the Pegasi with their air, hail, snow, or lightning like bodies; the unicorns with their ethereal, almost gaseous bodies; and the sea ponies with their fish or water like bodies. All of them possessed wings and horns and, under normal circumstances, would be embroiled in an eons long conflict. But this day was far from normal. For this day, standing within the center of the coliseum, was the pony that this most unusual of multiracial tribunals was trying. A pony that all four races could agree was a dangerous individual that needed to be dealt with as quickly as possible lest she cause any more damage. A pony that was once the Supreme Dictator of the Pegasi, that once went by the name of Commander Hurricane. Now, drained of a good portion of her godly might to the point where she now resembled her race’s long dead ancestors, save for her horn, she stood struggling against the bonds that held her in place. A small part of her knew that they were forged by master Pegasi smiths from the cores of collapsed stars using Unicorn sorcery passed down to them by the Two Above All themselves, and that, relative to her, they were unbreakable, but that part was heartily ignored by the part that screamed for escape. For survival. Some ways in front of her, as she saw the judges of the tribunal complete their deliberations, this part continued to snuff out the one begging to keep still. In order, the massive holographic heads of Chancellor Puddinghead of the earth ponies, her secretary Smart Cookie, Princess Platinum of the Unicorns, her advisor Clover the Clever, Queen Tethys of the sea ponies and her advisor, Curry, appeared just as those six ponies returned to their individual seats at the tribunal podium. “After much deliberation, we six of the tribunal have come to a conclusion we can best agree upon.” Said Puddinghead, in the usual rough tone of voice of an earth pony that sounded akin to gravel and crunching leaves. “Does the defendant have anything else to say before she is duly sentenced?” Asked Smart cookie. Refraining from her struggling, as the truth of how pointless it was no dawned upon her, Commander Hurricane said, “Yes, if you so called judges would permit me speech.” “We do.” Said the ethereal voice of clover the clever. “I am being tried for war crimes committed against the ponies of the earth, the sea, of magic, and, even against my own ponies, those of the sky, correct?” She asked. “You are.” Said Princess Platinum. “Ah yes. Thank you for reminding me.” She replied, putting a hoof to her chin. “Because apparently, I’ve slaughtered so many of you filthy mongrels, I’ve lost count.” At this, the members of the tribunal as well as the crowd, gasped. “And given the opportunity between doing it all over again and penance, I would choose the former every time. Every time.” She then pointed a hoof towards the Pegasi in the crowd. “And you, you no good traitorous filth! Who was it that lead you all to victory after victory in countless engagements against these fiends!? Who was it that, without whom, Cloudsdale would have fallen to the earth, the sea, or the very stars above, huh? Who was it that in your most darkest and pathetic of moments gave you hope!? Yet, who is that you consort with this day and who is the one you’re offering as tribute to the wolves you dirty, stinkin’ cowards!?” Cries of outrage sounded from the crowd at decibel levels that would defean the music of twenty-thousand horns and Princess Platinum as well as the other judges found themselves banging their gavels like mad mares in order to try and return things back to normal. “Order in the court! Order I say! Order!” She yelled out. Eventually, the din ceased and the noise returned back to normal, un-screaming and un-booing levels. “Are you quite finished making a mockery of these proceedings, Commander?” Asked the Chancellor. “What Puddinghead? Jealous that I am the one who beat you to it you clown?” “Okay! That. Is. It! Clover!” Said Platinum, pointing a hoof towards the Commander. “At once Mi Lady.” From her horn, Clover the Clever let loose a beam of magical energy that struck Commander Hurricane. Were she in her normal state, she might have been able to resist it but, in her weakened condition, she could not stop its effects. Effects that made it impossible for her voice to carry over the air and even for her to psionically project it into the minds of those around her. “There. Now that the once great ‘Supreme Dictator’ has properly put a sock in it, we may now give our verdicts in peace.” At her chair, Chancellor Puddinghead pressed a button. “Guilty!” She said as the word appeared in place of her head on the hologram. At her chair, Secretary Smart Cookie pressed a button. “Guilty!” She said as the word appeared in place of her head on the hologram. At her chair, Princess Platinum pressed a button. “Guilty!” She said as the word appeared in place of her head on the hologram. At her chair, Adviser Clover the Clever pressed a button. “Guilty!” She said as the word appeared in place of her head on the hologram. At their chairs, Queen Tethys and her advisor, Curry, were busy whispering to each other. After a few moments of this extra deliberation, the Queen said, “You’re like, so guilty—“ “—like, it’s not even funny, HAHA or otherwise.” They pressed a button and the word Guilty appeared on their holographic projections much like it did for the other four. “Now that that’s settled, I’d ask if the defendant had any final statements to make, but since we’ve already established that they’d be the worst kind of slander…Clover!” “Yes Princess.” Said her adviser, clearing her ethereal throat. “Bailiff! Bring forth the Prison Projector!” From an opening that appeared next to the Commander, a lone Pegasus clad in armor and with a body like golden lightning with pink lightning on her head that served as hair, flew out, hefting a rather large machine shaped like a cylinder with a demi-sphere lens at the end of it. Commander Hurricane’s eyes narrowed upon the form of Private Pansy, who shrunk back under her gaze like the doormat she was known for being. The Commander had thought, had hoped, that she had been captured and her essence used to power one the Unicornss or Sea Ponies’ death machines until it was used up and passed on to meet the Two Above All. Now, however, Hurricane could add traitor to the Pansy’s title instead of fallen comrade to be avenged . She wished that the Private had indeed long since perished. She certainly would have had more dignity, but then, such a thing was a commodity for her that she rarely ever attained. Covering up her eyes, the Private activated a button on top of the device and a beam of energy struck Commander Hurricane dead in the chest. "I'm sorry Commander. So, so, sorry..." In an instant, she was gone from her bonds, from the coliseum, indeed, from the Universe itself. In an instant, her last thought before she went to her eternal prison, her last thought, was, “When I get out here, and I WILL, you die first, Pansy.”
