The lone reptile shivered, feeling the first flecks of snow drift from the sky as he stood near the train station, he knew Hearth’s Warming Eve was coming up soon but honestly, he did not care as he breathed into his claws, shifted his purple jacket Rarity gave to him before he left and lit up a cigarette, not even hearing the clopping of hooves coming towards him before he looked over his left shoulder and saw an old friend, Dinky Doo.

“So this is goodbye then? After all you been through, you’re going to just...get up and leave?” She questioned making the drake shrug.

“Pretty much, Dinks.” He replied, taking another drag of his cigarette, forcing the young mare to wave away the smoke that had been blown into her face on accident.

“Where will you go?” she wondered making him chuckle lightly.

“Pinkie Pie’s cousin, Octavia had me sign the necessary papers to enter into Prance, figure I might visit there and some other places before my court date against Snips and Snails” He replied as they both looked over the lightly covered ground where snow began to fall, awaiting the train to come before he got off at Vanhoofer and took a ferry.

The two sat in silence just looking at the beauty that their homeland offered before Dinky cleared her throat.

“Not going to bother to ask if I want to come with?” She spoke softly as he only wrapped an arm around her shoulders and hugged her.

“You still got a year of school to finish, tell you what though, if I’m not in jail and once you are out, the two of us will travel the world together, got to take care of my little sister, eh?” He laughed making her punch him in the shoulder.

“Whatever...I spoke to Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo today….Apple Bloom can’t wait to see you go, Scoots could care less but Sweetie Belle...she seems genuinely sad you are leaving without so much a good bye, Spike.” She whispered as he only took one more drag of his nicotine and tossed it aside.

“Apple Bloom and her family can go buck themselves, though I always liked Granny Smith, never cared much for Scootaloo’s tomfilly attitude but Sweets herself...I have always admire her from afar truth be told...but, Fate has other plans. Maybe one day I’ll let her know of my feelings when we are adults...if that day ever comes.” He laughed bitterly before looking in confusion at the newspaper Dinky hoofed to him and looked it over with a harsh smile.

“Rainbow Dash got arrested for getting into a fight at the hospital with Twilight, can’t say I’m surprised but she’ll have to learn she can’t win every fight sooner or later. Shame really, the blame rest on me and yet, Twilight takes the fall...maybe I’ll crawl on my knees and apologize to her...one day.” He whispered quietly as they both heard the roar of the whistle from the train.

Giving each other one last hug, Spike walked towards the doors of the train before he heard Dinky yelling at him to be safe and come back for her.

Laughing he waved before the reptile muttered under his breath “I’ll do all I can to be a more gentle soul, Dinks...I promise you.” he chuckled warmly right before the doors to the train closed and began a new journey for Spike the dragon, while an Alicorn watched above the platform and smiled to see her son try to make a better life for himself.

Here you are, sorry it's so short, tried to at least get up to one thousand words but for what it is...it was a very good run, I'm sorry if it did not end the way any of you expected but....I don't do happy endings, I do realistic ones, have a good day/night and may the gods bless you my friends....maybe one day I'll come back.
