The Medic

A/N: All dreams and thoughts will occur in Italics so be warned up until the cutoff what occurs is a dream.

The Osprey touched down just inside of the Tokyo main square. The Guardians Squad stepped out and prepared for a fight.

“Ok boys the riot has just begun we are here to make sure it doesn’t get too out of control.” Yelled the man in-front of the group.

“But Capt how the fuck can we help? We don’t know who’s friendly and who isn’t.” Said one of the other men.

“Good point Light. But we just need to make sure it doesn’t begin to go outside the center of the city.” Said Capt, “Ok Light you take Spectre and Camper to the Barricade. Yorick and Nicolai you are with me we are heading to clear out some Civies from center of town. Everyone got that?”

“Yeah!” Said Light.

“Aye!” Said Camper.

“Yep!” Said Spectre.

Yorick and Nicolai said in unision, “Lets fuck some shit up!”

“Good! MOVE NOW!” Yelled Capt.

Light and his group reached the Barricade just as a wave hit it.

“FUCK FUCK HERE THEN COME,” Yelled a Merc.

“OPEN FIRE!” yelled another Merc.

They all began to unload on the horde that was rushing the barricade. Gunshots rang from both sides as the bodies hit the ground.

Finally the wave cleared and Spectre looked down and noticed a wounded pony on the ground. A medic walked out and began to tend to the pony but was stopped by a merc.

“Fuck off and leave this fucker to die.” the Merc said.

“Please sir back off I’m just here to help wounded on both sides.” Said the Medic.

“Yeah well fuck you.” Said the Merc who then shot the medic.

Spectre not being able to take it any more jumped the ‘cade and rushed the Merc before he was able to shoot the pony.

“NO FUCK YOU!” Spectre yelled. He then proceeded to kill the Merc.

Spectre then walked over to the pony. The pony attempted to back away.

“Don’t worry I’m going to help you the best I can.” Spectre said reaching down to the medic’s body and pulling out the supplies.

The pony began to sob, “Please no don’t kill me I have a family please stop.”

“Just calm down I’m going to attempt to save your life but I need you to trust me.” Specter said, “Can you do that for me?”

The pony stopped moving and looked at him.

“Thank you. Now just hold still this will sting a bit.” Spectre said rubbing some disinfectant on the wound.

The pony grimaced.

“Ok now I’m going to apply some bandages to stop the bleeding.” Spectre said. When he finished doing that he lifted the pony up.

“Now we need to get you some better aid this will last for a bit.” Spectre said camley with a smile that gave the pony some comfort.

Just as he got the pony over the Barricade another Merc walked up and said, “So you helping the enemy?” he then raised his gun, “Well you can just join them in hell.”

But before the Merc could fire a single shot a shot rang out and the Merc slumped to the ground.

Spectre’s radio kicked to life, “Well looks like I just saved your ass Spec!”

Spectre smiled and continued to the medical tent with the pony in his arms.

He set the pony down in a bed Spectre said, “I’ll be back shortly don’t worry.”

The pony weakly nodded.

Just as Spectre stepped out Light hugged him tightly.

“What’s this for Light?” He asked.

Multiple gunshots rang out and Light loosened his grip.

“Light what’s wrong?” He asked.

“I just saved your ass Isaac....” Light said.

“Wait what?” Spectre asked.

“I think I’m dying man. I... I...” Light said.

“Come on man save your breath.” Spectre said to him.

“I need you to promise me that... that you won’t ever... break any promise no matter what. And that no matter what you... you... will be Honorable ask for no rewards ever. Man I’ll miss you. Goodbye.” Light said.

“I promise man.” Spectre said.

“Make THE promise.” Light said with a smile.

“Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.” I said taking after our favorite show.

“Thanks man. I swear if you break this promise I will make your life miserable FOREVER.” Light said.

“Light? Light?” Spectre said before looking up and a Merc with a gun pointed at him, “YOU!”

Spectre charged the Merc and delivered a single punch to the Mercs throat and killed him instantly.

I forced myself awake just before the tears began.

“Wha... Whats wrong Spectre?” Twilight asked looking scared.

“The... the...” I couldn’t hold it back I began to cry. Through the sobs I managed to say, “The... nightmare... is... back... It’s... my... fault... he... died...”

“That who died,” she asked trying to calm me down.

“Light... my best friend... No my brother... He died to... save me.” I said through the sobs.

She got up and sat down next to me. She began to cradle me like a mom would do to a child who woke up from a bad dream.

“It’s okay. Just calm down.” She said. I complied and calmed down a little.

I was still shaking. I said, “I’m sorry if I may not seem like what you wanted anymore but... That nightmare always gets me... I always break whenever I have it.”

“Its okay from how you reacted it must have been horrid,” she said.

I nodded slightly. “I made a promise to him though... I promised... No I swore that I would never break any promise no matter what it would cost me... and that I would forever be noble and never ask for anything for anything I did. It was his dying wish and I wasn’t going to say no to him. But it kinda just faded into my life. I just act like that now. I take every promise I make seriously and every promise that is made to me I take seriously.” I told her.

“That is so nice of you.” She said with a smile. Though I could tell she didn’t understand how important that moment was to me. What that moment made me into.

We felt the chariot touch down. Then a knock came on the door and a voice said, “We’ve arrived.”
