In the Beginning, In the End
Where do I start? A terrible situation. I could say what I easily know, but It wouldn't make sense. I'll try my best to tell you the beginning. Or the End, in reality. The End of the world, the pony population had to be much less then a eighth of what it use to be. We thought hybrids were the cure over the loss of resources. We were wrong. I was glad that I didn't become one...
But in the end, it doesn't even mater.
What I remember was a blur, I don't know why it was though, the hybrids might have messed with my mind.
It started out when we noticed the resource number declining, we tried to save it, but ponies used all of it up! I was always a pony with a green hoof( No pun intended) and so was my husband. He believed in saving the planet. When he saw the hybrids, he knew it wouldn't be good. Slowly, the ponies turned to beasts.
The hybrids killed, they took over, used us as slaves, It happened so quick. I couldn't believe it! I tried my best to get around it, but there was no way!
My Husband was a popular pony, he was famous for making music. Many people loved him, but I loved him the most. CharmingRhythm.... he was charming.... and he did create the most beautiful rhythms. His music was inspiring, speaking of getting over situations. He was a kind soul, full of life, and his friends saw it too.
His band mates were his best friends, and he was very fond of one, HyperBlitz. A pegasus with a blessed voice, his ability to take so many notes. There was no question why the band was so popular. Linkin Pony. That was their band, I was one of the Linkin Mares
I remember a fight, between some hybrids. That was the last time I saw him.
The world was pretty much dead then. That moment, I realized that. I watched the ponies go against hybrids, defending what was theirs. The world. CharmingRhythm wouldn't go home without a fight, he wouldn't let anything happen. His friends tried to help, but what could ponies that made music do? How could they fight?
Hybrids circled around, one looked me strait in the eye. I stepped back, and a protected my colt. He was a light blue unicorn, and looked a lot like his father. His wide eyes filled with fear. I shot a laser forward to fend the thing off, but I wasn't good at such things.
"HeartFelt! Get out of here!!" I heard a shout. I glanced over and saw CharmingRhythm.
I swooped up my colt and ran as fast as possible. I hid down in a corner, and watched the stallions. There were other ponies fighting too, probably more skilled in battle. The broke down the wall of hybrids.
I eyed over to HyperBlitz, who wrestled a hybrid. He wasn't afraid, Hyper always went for things, he didn't care about getting hurt. I only hoped that his pain didn't stop him from being himself.
The hybrid, with the most powerful thrust and energy, ripped HyperBlitz wing. Other hybrids started to attack. I put my hooves over my little colt's eyes. I watch in horror as the hybrids broke Hyper, his wing covered with blood, mangled. What I couldn't imagine, was they ripped the whole wing off. The loudest scream I ever heard in my life. This wasn't Like HyperBlitz's screams in the songs, this was complete and utter agony. The most perfect voice turned to the most horrid, like a demon screeching.
Shots of blue lasers hit the hybrids, then indigo lasers too. CharmingRhythm kicked the hybrids, then his friend, SpinningNote, came behind. SpinningNote used his magic to stop the hybrids, then he threw them into the air. Once they hit the ground, other ponies started to attack. Rhythm tried to comfort his damaged friend.
The crowed of hybrids soon got smaller, more ponies came to help. But HyperBlitz still laid on the floor helpless. He didn't deserve this, not with all he's been through in his life. Nopony deserved any of this.
Tear ran down my cheeks, and I held my colt close to me. What hell has this world come to? In all the commotion, more ponies pulled my way. They spoke to me, but I had no Idea what they were saying. My mind was a blur of emotions, and the other ponies dragged me and my son from the corner. Something was overcoming me, like a drug. It took me away from the world, and I just followed the ponies. As if I thought they could help, maybe they could, or did?
I was somehow traveling. What was it? All I did was stay put. CharmingRhythm was behind me, I heard these words:
"HeartFelt, you can't let these hybrids hurt you! 'Cause I'm not gonna let that happen."
But then in a cloud of dust and smoke, an explosion went off, I could hear mechanical clanks. These feeling, all the emotions, and then the smoke, got to me. I couldn't stand it, I fell over to black.
It was very confusing. I didn't know where I was. I had no idea what happened. I awoke to a hazy sky. I rolled over, and looked at the bare land. Sitting next to me was my son, but nopony else. I didn't know how I got here, I don't know how long I was out, and my mind still felt weary.
I tried to stand up, I nudged my colt. Then I put him on my back to carry.
I trotted on. I did for many miles, many days. If I found anypony, I'd ask for some food an water. Some ponies knew how to purify water, but I wasn't sure. Everything was wasted, a mess. The air smelled like death. I hated it, any pony would.
I looked down at my sore hooves, there was no place I could rest them. I had no home, and I had no idea where I was supposed to go. What direction? Where would there be a camp or something. I found little families of ponies here and there, and sleep with them, but I kept walking.
I would ask for advice but I didn't get that much. All the ponies I asked told me they have never heard of "Linkin Pony". I was getting frustrated, but I didn't lose hope, ChamingRhythm wouldn't want me to.
One day, I found myself alone, in a place once a field, or at least I thought. I rested down by a dead tree. I let my little colt sleep, his head against my body. He was very skinny, dirty and hurt. But not as much as me, most food I got I'd give to him. The more I thought about my son, the more I thought of CharmingRhythm.
I awoke to metal clopping. It came closer. I sensed something bad. I lifted my head up and saw the most terifying sight, a hybrid right in front of me. I jolted up and stood my ground. My son cried out, and hybrid kicked him. NO Why? Why hurt such a innocent child? The hybrid threw the unicorn against the tree.
I zapped lasers at him. What would be the weak spot? I got more and more angry as he hurt my child. Then I ran forward, my horn glowing. I pushed it into the hybrid, stabbing it in its exposed ribs. The magic surged around the metal, short-circuiting it. The hybrid fell to the ground.
I picked up my colt, he was almost lifeless. How could I let thins happen? I was a terrible mother. I kept going, and soon found some nice ponies. I told them to take care of my colt. The told me that there was a little camp up the hill a few miles where I might be able to stay, The game me something, a bracelet? It had a blue ball in it that glowed. The ponies called it "Pure Energy". I said that I would somehow get back with them to keep in touch, but i couldn't trust myself with my colt.
My story is sad. That's the beginning. Or what I could remember. I had wandered for weeks, met ponies, and lost my confidence as a mother. I knew that there was little hope. I pushed myself on. Did I push myself to hard? But this "pure energy" was giving me more strength. I was told that at the camp, a pony could tell me more about it. I guess I'm glad I didn't die, with all these other ponies dead.
