Aponycalipse: Wings of Freedom

At the base, they managed to get Isaac to a doctor. He was on a bed, asleep and his wounds bandaged. John sighs as he collapsed on the floor exhausted.

Justin’s ears bend back. “Poor guy…At least the doctor said that Isaac’s wound will heal.”

“Good…But this isn’t over is it?” John asked, rubbing the back of his head.

“No it isn’t. Not by a long shot.” Justin said. “As long as Viktor is out there, both sides will continue to fight.”

John snorted like a pony and lays on his side. “Oh...I still haven’t recovered much since that nuke...”

Lyra shows up as she pets John’s side. “It’s ok. Get some rest.”

“Thanks.” John said as his ears twitched. Lyra hugs him and bows.

“I’ll leave you alone. If you need anything let me know.” She said as she leaves. John was blushing.

“She must really like pegasi.” Justin said as he fixed his hat.

“I guess and she really likes me a lot for some reason,” John said.

“Maybe she likes you?” Justin asked.

John gets up and looks at him and says, “Nah...no girls ever like me like that...”

“Maybe she likes how you appear?” Justin asked.

“I guess…”

“But you did say that being a pony is a chick magnet,” Justin said, trying to cheer him up.

“Yeah but I wish I could find one who would like me for who I am... Not what I am...” John said.

“True.”

The Snowy walks in, unhappy.

“Dragon... you should be flying...” Snowy said. “I have enough contacts to be aware of your adventure on sky...”

John sighed as he rolled to his hooves. “You have?”

“Yes, from Cam’s ponies.” She answered. “And the ones WE recruited together...”

Justin and John remained silent.

“Why are you both turning against your race... the ponies needs you...”

“We are not turning away.” Justin said. “This war has to stop.”

“But humans even hurt OTHER HUMANS! How that race can be good?” Snowy said, sounding serious.

“It's because of that mad general! Viktor snapped because of this!” Justin yelled. “It was because of him that Isaac is like this!!!”

“Don’t you see there are good things about the human race more than the bad...” John added.

“Tell me one.”

“Isaac saved John when he was hurt.” Justin said.

“He willingly risked his live to save the city.” John said.

Snowy gave a smile and said, “Then transform Isaac. You’ll give him the best gift of all and he will be on air as soon as the transformation ends...”

“What?! No way!” John yelled in shock.

“Why not?” Snowy asks.

“He won’t allow it. Even his friend wouldn’t agree.” Justin said as he sat down with his front hooves crossed.

“And we're not gonna force them either.” John said, looking serious.

“Give me proof to prove of human kindness ... because what I see is human attacking every living being... and if I see somepony is in danger, then the cease fire is over...” Snowy said.

“Wait...” Isaac coughs as he struggles to get up.

“Isaac, you shouldn’t be up!” John said with worry.

“Look at him... Humans do that to their kind... what’s left for us?” Snowy said. “I just... I just don’t want see our kind suffer because of humans...”

“No, no…” Isaac sat up and coughs. “We will find a peaceful way for your kind. We don't want to harm you...”

“You are just dying right in front of me and your own kind did it...” Snowy said, feeling bad for Isaac.

“I'm not dying. I have strong will. Please come here.” Isaac said as he pats on the bed. Snowy jumps on the bed and sits down.  “Look...you can't think all humans are evil. In fact I want to make peace with your kind. A world in peace where both human and pony can live in harmony.”

“How I can believe you if your words say something but weapons tell different stories...” Snowy said.

“It may tell a different story about the humans but a lot of us don't think of violence.” Isaac said.

“I want to believe... that’s why we ceased fire... but if your civil war hurt somepony, this cease is over” Snowy said.

“Our people won’t hurt you. I promise.” Isaac said.

“Why you don’t join the pony side... you’ll be happier...” Snowy said.

“Snowy…” John said sternly.

“I’d rather be human,” Isaac said with his arms crossed.

“Well your brother didn’t see it that way, right dragon?” Snowy said, focusing the fact Dragon transformed Isaac’s brother with her help.

“What?” Isaac looks at John and sees his ears lower. “You didn’t…”

“Yep, thanks to him we found this place.” Snowy explained. “Also Echo became Edge... and is a pegasus! And it’s the truth.”

John’s head hung low. The room went silent. A tear was seen from Isaac's eyes.

Then Snowy broke the silence. “You can be with them, you can be fully healed... just accept my offer.”

Isaac thinks for a moment and shook his head. “I can't. There is one man I have to stop. And it's Viktor. As long as he is here, this war will continue. I know there is a way both sides can make peace.”

“Well if I help you... when you beat this mean human... you will join?” Snowy asked.

“When Viktor is stopped, this war will end with both sides at peace. No more violence. I can promise you.” Isaac said.

“Just keep saying that, maybe I’ll start to believe....” Snowy commented as she pulls out a bottle. It was a healing potion. “It’s for when somepony gets hurt. It let you heal in a few... “She leaves it next to him as she disappears.

Isaac looks at the bottle closely. John looks away from Justin and Isaac and walks away. Isaac drinks the bottle but only half as his wound heals. He sees John leaving and gets up and walks up to John.

“John my friend, wait.” Isaac said. Tears fell as John walked away but he quickly wipes it away. He tries to never show any tears.

John sighs deeply. “You called me friend?”

“Yes,” Isaac said nicely as he hands the bottle to John. “Here take the rest.”

“You mean after all I did to you your still...”

Isaac lifts John's chin so he could look at him. “Look, you weren't yourself and couldn't control it. I know that had to happen sometime.” John swallows hard as he was trying not to cry. Isaac gently pats John’s head. “It’s ok…Now please cheer up.”

John smiled a bit with a single tear fell from his eyes finally shows his happy self. “Thanks man…” He takes the bottle in his mouth and drinks it.

“You’re welcome. That should help you fully recover so you can fly better.” Isaac said nicely. John can feel the effect take in as the pain in his wings goes away.

“Thanks Isaac…” John said.

“You’re welcome comrade.” Isaac kept a smile.

“How are you feeling now?” Justin asked as he walks up to them.

“A little better.” John replied.

“At least your wings are better now,” Isaac said. “Now back to our main mission, to stop Viktor. If he attacks the city just once then the cease fire will end. We must stop him at all costs.”

“Right we have to figure out where he's hunkered down.” John said.

Isaac rubs his chin as he thinks for a moment and remembers. “The secondary air base is up north!” Isaac answered. “That must have been where he launched the ICBM before and sent the aircraft to the city.”

“Are you sure that he’s there?” John asked.

“Knowing him he would never leave until his last, but to ensure that if he is there someone or somepony has to sneak inside and find out.”  Isaac said as he has his hands in his pockets, “Someone with the skills of stealth.”

“Hmmmm….who could do that?” John asked.

“I would say a human and pegasus can work together on that.” They turn see that it was General Lance with two soldiers beside him. Isaac salutes to him the moment he sees. John salutes with his wings open in attention. “At ease, I see you were planning on sneaking into the air base up north, a very risky mission when done alone.”

Lance looks at John. “Hmmmm….you have met Alex have you?”

“Uh yes sir?” John was clueless to what he meant.

“I think you both are perfect for the mission. It will require a lot of stealth from both of you “ Lance walked around as he explained.

“Y-yes sir…”

“Is something wrong?” Lance looked at John with a questioning look.

“No sir!” John answered. “Except I never been in a stealth mission in this body before...”

“Alex will help you will that.” Lance said. He moves his hands around in his talking. “Now go find him. He should be nearby.”

It didn’t take long for them to search when suddenly they see a soldier get sent into the air. It was Alex training and the soldiers didn’t stand a chance with him.

“That must be Alex!” John said as they watch as the soldier smack into the ground. The soldier gets up and rubs his head from the fall. He shakes himself off as he walks off.

“Ok just be careful.” Lance said. “You don't want to get hit when he throws one of the soldiers.”

“No worries general. I know what I’m dealing with.” John said as he gave a smile to Lance. Lance nods as he walks away with the soldiers following. Alex was surrounded by soldiers. He wasn't armed but took a fighting stance.

John peeks his little pony head out in between the crowd of soldiers. One of the soldiers charges at him, only to get thrown to the ground. Another tries to sneak up behind him. He grins as he elbows the soldier in the gut. A Russian soldier stood beside John as he watched. His name is Nikolai, a member of the Russian Special Forces Spetsnaz.

“This kid is really good,” Nikolai said as he looks at John.

“Come on. Is there anyone that can beat me?” Alex looked at the soldiers when he sees John. “Ah hello John.”

John happily trots over. “Hey Alex!”

“Come to see me spar? These guys are too easy.” Alex said as he grinned.

“Yea pretty much and getting prepared for our black ops,” John said.

“Oh so general Lance told you?”  Alex has his arms crossed. “Well then in order work with me you must prove yourself.”

“Prove myself?”

“You know…” Alex steps back and gets into a fighting stance. John grins and got into his fighting stance his hooves stomping acting like he’s ready to charge.  Nikolai gets in between them.

“This is going to be fair fight. No magic, no cheap shots. The first to go down loses.” Nikolai explains. “And begin!”

John dashes forward while Alex does the same. Both clash in a grapple. Alex does a drop kick above John. John slides away from him and grappled him from behind with his for leg and did a suplex.

“OH! That’s going to leave a mark!” One of the soldiers said as they cheered. John quickly got back on all four his wing are wide open.

Alex gets back up. “Not bad…”

“Thanks, been practicing a bit in this form.” John said.

“Now let’s see how quick you are!” Alex charges at him and does a roundhouse kick at John's face. John move his head back as Alex feet brushed against his snout before John backflips out of the way and lands in a crouch. Alex grins as he then starts doing rapid kicks at John. John back peddles swaying his head to avoid his kicks and his wings were blocking some. Alex continues his kicking as the soldiers were watching.

John continues to block waiting for an opening. Alex kept it up not realizing he left his other leg open. John noticed it and once he tries to kick his leg he made his move and used his wings to sweep the other leg. Alex didn’t see it coming as he falls on his back. John then pins him down with his hooves. Alex tries to get free but couldn’t.

“Ok that is it. The winner is John.” Nikolai said as the soldiers clapped and John gets off Alex.

“I’m impressed. You are really good John.” Alex said as he got up.

“I’m impressed myself too.” John said.

“Now about that mission…” Alex was thinking for moment. “Aw yes, recon the airbase that’s not far from here. Most likely Viktor will be there. Our job is to find out his next plan.”

“Anything we should expect?”

“The area is guarded like a fortress. So we'll expect a lot of guards.” Alex explained. Then Lyra walks up to them.

“Alex, John, are you both ready?” She asks. John ears twitched.

“Ready as I’ll ever be.” John said.

“General Lance forgot to mention that you'll have to get there by foot. The air base is protected by radar network. Which means you can't fly unless you want to get missiles launched at you.” Lyra explained.

“Well on our way out we could take out the radar network. What do you think John?” Alex asks.

“I like walking,” John answered as Alex gets his gear. “The radar might be a sweet target to take out and might cover our escape.”

“I like it.” Alex said as Lyra salutes to them.

“Good luck you two.” She said as they leave.
