As a very young colt Jazz always had a taste for music, his favorite instrument was the saxophone alto to be exact, but the other, bigger colts at school called him a "band geek" but later on everything changed...

A silky white unicorn, with a grey and black mane, walked down the path, as he ventured back to his home in the middle of ponyville. Life with him was always low and no one ever talked to him except for his parents and the bullies at school. And he always came back with some kind of wound on him but he went through it anyways. As much as he felt pain, it kept pushing him forward. He always dreamed that he would someday be a saxophone artist, but he knew that would take time as much as money and more pain and sorrow.

he came home with the same smell of cigarette smoke, his parents were smokers, and they never usually payed attention to him. He just came in with a quick hello and he trotted up the stairs. He walked to his room and opened up he drew a lot of jazz bands, and he would usually stare at them and think about what it would look like if he was in a band like that.

Jazz sat on his bed for about an hour and he looked at the clock, it was 8:55 pm, he yawned and fell asleep. Then he was sucked into what seemed like endless darkness.

He woke up and found himself in a wide sun shiny grassy field, and he mumbled, "I'm dreaming." he looked around trying to get a good look at his surroundings. then he turned around and saw a small black and wide rectangular case, his senses told him not to open the case, but he got the guts to see whats inside. he flicked the locks that were securing it shut. he braced himself wondering what was going to jump out at him. But he tensed, and sensed nothing. And there before him was a brass extra gloss alto saxophone.

His jaw dropped as he looked at the shiny alto sax. He picked up the reed and the mouthpiece and neck he screwed the ligature on and he pressed the neck into the actual instrument. Then he pressed down the upper three keys and it played the note. His heart filled with joy as he played that note. he let out a small prayer that said, "dear Celestia, please let this dream last." He started to play a tune and started to get the hang of it. then all hope broke loose, he awoke lying down on his bed, It felt as if the world was crashing down before him and he broke in tears. Then he sobbed, "I will never get my hooves on one of those again!"
