A Visit With The Doctor

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

The next day arrived, but it was a weekend. He had an appointment with the hospital to get his blood tested and medication. It was to help him maintain a healthy blood stream with his slightly undersized body.

As a general rule, Razor HATED needles, but it never hurts as bad as he remembers, he always says.

“Razor, it’s that time of the year again.” Ms. Cheerilee said into his room several minutes after he woke up.

He sighed. “I know… Let me just get the sweater…” He went to walk over to get his sweater, then put it on.

“Don’t worry. We have a friend to come!” Ms. Cheerilee smiled and Sweetie Belle popped into the room.

“Hi, Razor!” She said with the voice scratch.

“Oh, hi Sweetie Belle!” He said surprised. They walked out the front door. “I know you wanted to, but why are you coming with me?”

“Well, Ms. Cheerilee said you were afraid of needles, so she asked me to come to help you!” She said, smiling afterwards.

“Oh, okay…” He said with a light blush.

They soon made it to the hospital. “Nurse Redheart, it’s that time of year again…” Ms. Cheerilee said.

“Of course, Razor!” She said. “Don’t worry, it’s going to be fine!”

“Can Sweetie Belle come with me?” Razor asked, again, with a light blush.

“Of course!” The nurse replied with a smile, knowing the colt was worried.

They sat in the waiting room, knowing it wasn’t much longer.

Only four minutes had passed before the word came out: “Razor.” Said Nurse Redheart.

Him and Sweetie Belle walked into the back room, where the nurse had a syringe and seven vials needing to be filled. They were all wide ones that take longer to fill. She put one into the syringe and on came the question “Ready?” The nurse asked.

With Sweetie Bell holding his hoof, he replied. “Ready…”

“It’s okay, when she puts the needle in, just close your eyes and take deep breaths.” Sweetie Belle said. “I do it all the time and it makes the pain go away!”

The nurse put the syringe carefully into his arm then waited for the first vial to fill up.

Razor closed his eyes tight, breathing deeply. “Okay… Just remember what Sweetie Belle said…” And he continued breathing.

The first vial soon filled up, then the second one replaced it, then the third one.

That’s when Sweetie Belle spoke. “It’s alright, you’re doing great!”

Soon, all seven vials were filled, the nurse then put a bandage on the cut and then brought him to the regular doctor’s office, but it appears his check-up was overdue, which meant some embarrassing tests would have to be performed.

He blushed and said. “Sweetie Belle, would you mind sitting this one out?”

“Okay.” She said and went back to the waiting room with Ms. Cheerilee, who was soon joined by Rarity.

“Oh, Sweetie Belle! Glad Ms. Cheerilee was able to tell me you were going here!” Rarity said. “It’s time for your flu-shot, too” She said, because winter was coming on fast.

“Okay.” Sweetie Belle said, sad that she might miss Razor.

Rarity walked Sweetie Belle to the desk, when she was called back before she even got back to her seat.

It was only two minutes until Sweetie Belle and Rarity got back, but Razor was another story. He has finished his check-up and it was time for the shots.

“It’s okay.” Nurse Redheart said, pulling out two syringes.

The young colt sighed and pulled up his sweater sleeve. “Ready…”

The nurse injected the dose of medication and put a bandage over the spot the needles were in. “You did fine.” She said, and started walking him back out to Ms. Cheerilee.

When they got out, Razor went right back to Sweetie Belle. “Sorry it took so long.” Razor said.

“It’s okay.” Sweetie Belle replied. “There’s always that one thing that we forget that we have to do!”

The two chatted for a few minutes, then Razor had to leave. “Sorry, Sweetie Belle, I have to go. Bye…”

“Bye” She said.

Rarity lowered her head to Sweetie Belle’s ear. “Is it you have a crush on him, you’re sad to see him go?”

“N-n-no!” She said nervously.
