Chapter 1
The time was 10:30 pm on the dot, a bar lit up the streets where sat a blue Pegasus with a white and blue mane and a cutie mark that was a tornado, his red eyes just staring at the counter.
“Can I have another please?” He spoke looking up at the barpony.
“Tornado, you just have to let this whole thing go.” The barpony replied, cleaning out a glass. “She’s gone, just learn to accept it.”
“How can I accept it when I loved her so much?” The Pegasus known as Tornado stared at the barpony.
“I don’t know bu-” The barpony was interrupted by a cyan Pegasus coming to the counter. His mane was a dirty, dark brown and so were his eyes. He took a seat next to Tornado. “Welcome my good sir, what can I get you to drink?” The barpony asked.
“I’ll have a cider thanks.” The Pegasus next to him smiled at the barpony and looked at Tornado. “Hey there.” He said to Tornado with a smile. “What’s the matter buddy?”
“Nothing, I just lost the pony Loved.” Tornado sighed and closed his eyes.
The pony placed an arm around of Tornado. “Hey buddy, it’s okay. I know exactly how that feels.” He then realized he forgot to introduce himself. “Oh where are my manners? I’m Scion.” He smiled at Tornado with a gentle grace.
“I’m Tornado Dash, but you can call me Tornado.” Tornado found himself, shaking hooves with Scion and smiling at him shortly afterwards.
“So, tell me about yourself Tornado.” Scion’s cider arrived and he drank from it looking at Tornado.
“There’s not really anything to tell.” Tornado said sighing. “But, I’ll try.”
“How about I go first?” Scion suggested while he took a sip from his cider, placing it carefully on the counter.
“No no, I’ll go first. I insist.” Tornado looked at him with a smile.
“Well okay then.” Scion sat, looking interested in what I was about to say. Like if he was engaged into a story so much, he couldn’t stop reading.
“You know my name, I was born in Cloudsdale and also raised there. I then went to war, met a mare, wanted to start a family,” Tornado sighed. “but the relationship didn’t last as long as I hoped it would.”
“Interesting, short but interesting.” Scion took another sip. “Well I was also born in Cloudsdale, I am a writer but I don’t really make a lot off of it unfortunately and now I recently moved to Ponyville to start a new life.”
“You’re a writer?” Tornado asked him with a growing smile.
“Yes, yes I am.” Scion replied taking another sip.
Tornado drank from his beer. “I always love a nice hour or two of reading. You wouldn’t mind me reading some of your work do you?”
“Not at all.” A small blush appeared on Scion’s face. “Well, come on let’s sit down somewhere.” Scion got off the seat and went towards one of the corner tables in the bar. Tornado followed close to him.
They sit down at a corner table on the long seat that stretches from the corner across a wall and to the opposite corner. “So, what books have you written?” Tornado asked him, taking a sip from his beer.
“This book called Interloper.” Scion looked at Tornado. “It’s very long book, over one thousand pages.”
“Really?” Tornado looked surprised. “What’s it about exactly?”
Scion didn’t look like he wanted to tell. “It’s best you don’t know.”
“Well okay then.” Tornado smirked at him and drank from his bottle. As the night went on, these two friends decided to go home; surprising that they are not drunk.
“Well I enjoyed tonight.” Scion said looking at me. “You’re a good friend Tornado.” He instantly hugged Tornado.
“Thanks Scion, so are you.” Tornado returned the hug, feeling his heart warm up. “It feels so good to have friends like you by me.”
Scion broke the hug slowly, looking into his eyes. “That it does, but you’re better.”
“Oh come on, I’m not.” Tornado blushed a little.
“You are.” Responded Scion, giving him a quick nuzzle. “Anyway, I best go and get some sleep, I’ll see you maybe tomorrow?”
“Sounds good to me, goodnight Scion.” Tornado smiled at him.
“Goodnight Tornado.” They went back to their homes as the moon shone down with a midnight blue glow.
Morning arrived, Tornado was faced down in his bed with the sunlight shining onto him through his window blinds. He slowly awoke from his slumber and yawned. A knock was heard at the door and Tornado slowly made his way downstairs. He opened the door revealing Scion with a smile on his face.
“Hey Tornado!”
Tornado let out a yawn. “Scion?” He looked at him with a very tired look. “It’s a bit early isn’t it?” Tornado checked the time. “It’s only...11:55 am.” He looked back at Scion. “Right it is late isn’t it?”
“So last night must have worn you out huh?” Scion said smirking at Tornado.
“You are right there my friend.” Tornado stood aside to let him in. “Come in, come in.” Scion walked in.
“Thanks buddy.” Scion seemed to look around a lot. “Nice house.”
“Thanks, by the way how did you know where I lived?” Tornado asked him curiously.
“Oh your mailbox told me, since it has your name on.” Scion chuckled a bit. “You mind if I sit down?” Scion asked.
“Sure, I don’t mind at all.” Tornado smiled to his friend Scion as the cerulean Pegasus sat down on the couch. Tornado then joined him shortly afterwards turning the TV on.
“So any plans for today?” Scion looked at Tornado.
“Well as soon as I’m awake, I was thinking we could go flying.” Tornado suggested while he looked at the TV.
“Sounds nice, all though I don’t think we should race.” Scion responded as he looked at the TV.
“Yeah same here, I don’t want to wake up in a hospital because I crashed.” Tornado let out a soft chuckle.
Scion chuckled along with him. “You’re funny Tornado.”
“Should I be flattered or offended?” Tornado let out another soft chuckle.
“I mean it in a good way Tornado, so flattered.” Scion smirks.
“And with that, I feel flattered so thank you Scion.” Tornado placed an arm around him.
“No problem.” Scion slowly snuggled up to his friend and watched TV with him.
“Hey, while you’re here. Would you like something to eat or drink?” Tornado asked him.
“That would be nice, thank you, Tornado.” Scion responded with a smile.
Tornado went into the kitchen while Scion stayed lain down on the couch. He started making some pancakes. He grabbed many different things he could use such as butter, syrup, cream, chocolate and other toppings. “How does pancakes sound?” Tornado shouted from the kitchen.
“Sounds great!” Scion responded with a happy tone.
“What would you like to drink?” Tornado asked from the kitchen.
“Just some water would be nice, thank you.”
“Water, you got it!” Tornado finished up the pancakes and then got some fresh water from the fridge. He poured the bottle of water into the glass and put some toppings on the pancakes. The sweet smell of pancakes passed under Scion’s nose, he took a couple of sniffs and followed the smell. Scion saw the pancakes awaiting him at the table. He sat down and began eating. His eating seemed more adorable than any other ponies.
“These are really good.” Scion commented on the food as he ate.
“Thanks man, you know the way you eat is adorable.” Tornado chuckled to himself while he watched him eat. A small blush appeared on Scion’s face.
“Oh come on now.” Scion responded while he continued eating.
“Would I lie about that?” Tornado smirked and then turned his head to look out the window.
“Maybe you might.” Scion laughed a bit and finished eating. Tornado took the plate and put it by the sink.
“Oh come on now.” Tornado looked at him and gave him a short nuzzle. “I would never lie to you Scion since you’re one of my best friends.” Scion’s eyes widened at those words.
“I-I can’t be one of your best friends.” He stared at Tornado for a while. “I can’t be that nice.” Tornado began smiling at him warmly.
“Oh Scion, you’re really nice to me and I’m sure you are to others as well.” Tornado walked into the living room. “Come on, let’s go flying.” Tornado trotted to the door with Scion following. “Just like I said.” They began to fly up into the sky together. This is the start of something beautiful.
