(G)Paradise Is Troubled

“Nobody move!” a man with a gold shiny star on his button up shirt commands the grand ballroom. “Everybody stop! Freeze! For all of you who do not know who I am, my name is Colonel Mustard Seed.”

Everyone did as they were told. Sounds of sobbing carried in the air.

As per usual, in situations such as these, Pinkie’s hair deflated in poofy-ness. She paid attention to her surroundings using her ninja senses to the max. Pinkie was determined to get to the bottom of this. “No one messes with Auntie Pinkie Pie’s family and gets away with it!” she mutters to herself.

"I have called for back up to take account of all the bodies.” Colonel Mustard Seed continued to talk. “My lovely twin daughters are my second in commands! Their names are Dharma and Justice.” Two jaw dropping Amazon looking women walk up and stand next to their father. “Say hello now, go on! Don’t be shy!”

For the first time in the whole scenario, Rarity notices other people crying over bodies. Some of the bodies don’t even have heads attached to them anymore. She sees the blood on their faces and on their clothes. She places a hand on her own cheek as she starts to wail her heart out. Then, Rarity snapped to reality mode for a second. It was a delayed reaction to the officer’s announcement of the bringing of the body bags. She stood up from her knees and waved her hand frantically. “OFFICER! Oh, OFFICER!” she started to get hysterical. “I DON’T HAVE A BODY! Oh, I DON’T HAVE A BODY!”

“Then you are lucky not to have to mourn with the others, Miss.” The Colonel walks up to Rarity and places a firm hand on her shoulder to calm her down a little.

“Miss Rarity.” she sniffled. “I don’t have a body, but, I have this.” she shows him the heart. Everyone in the grand ballroom zoned in on her to see what she was holding. Rarity trembles as she produced a knife as well. She picked it up with a napkin.

“What a smart young lady you are! By holding the murder weapon with a handkerchief so we can run it for finger prints!”

She blushes and lifts her head up becoming Rarity for a brief moment. “I picked it up like that because it was simply gross. It is bloody revolting. Just look at it!”

“Fair enough, Miss Rarity!” speaks up one of the Daughter Deputies.

“Anyone else, here, can say they are in this young lady’s predicament?” Colonel Mustard Seed questions. No one answers him. “No one is to leave the Inn’s boundaries. Miss Scarlet has opened the extended hotel wing for you locals.” His walkie on his hip starts to crackle and word was, was that back up came. “Everyone will be escorted out and to their rooms individually or by the group unit they came here with. Those of you with members of the recently deceased, we ask for you to stay for questioning on both our sides and yours and statements that you have or concerns. That is all.” The Colonel walks out of the ballroom to converse with the officers that had just arrived at the premise to give them their orders and assignments.

A moment of silence has now passed. Apple Jack’s heart sat in the center of a still hugging circle of friends.

Rarity’s tears have started to burn her eyes and currently falling in slow spurts on and off. Everyone in her entourage was worried about her… and worried for her. She shouldn’t be in her suite by herself. All the rooms had two people in it each already except Pinkie Pie. She wasn’t one to be selfish at a time like this. Pinkie pushes her vacationing sexual escapades on pause and invites Rarity to room with her the rest of the stay. Pinkie did have a lot of convincing to do. Rarity was telling her that she would be a blubbering nuisance. That she shouldn’t be around anybody.

Rainbow Dash came up to the two friends bickering, to save the moment. Only the moment because there was no way to salvage the day. “Hey Pinks, R-rarity! I think we all need some fresh air outside.” The two girls just looked at her blankly at the interference of their argument of being left alone or with the rest of civilization. Dash doesn't care and keeps on going stressing out a few words. “You’ll feel much better with a brand new change of clothes. If you don’t feel like heading all the way up to your room to change before coming all the way back down here so I can drag you outside… then, use your that there horn of yers. You must stay strong. You have to hold yourself together and be Rarity. I know it’s tough. But you MUST!”

“You’re right Rainbow Dash…” Rarity whines. “I MUST!” the horn on her forehead started to glow and her attire has changed.

“You’re still bunking with me the rest of the trip.” Pinkie states as a matter of fact and turns around to check on everyone else.

“You must.” Dash tells Rarity. “Now let’s head outside. The others will follow. It’ll be a little bit quieter out there for all of us to talk. It’s secluded. Those who need to smoke are in front of the building where the mass majority of the officers are at. You look like you need a ciggie. I know that we all don’t really smoke. But, I think today of days, a cigar or pipe or something. Someone at a different table said they had something medicinal to smoke…” she was still talking to a mute Rarity. Dash just takes a hold of her arm and walks to the back doors being super patient and cool for her friend.

The night sky was cloudy with the moon still trying to peek through. The air turned foggy with a light glistening mist. Rarity started walking on her own letting Dash’s grasp go. She walks towards the forest and stops in the shadow placing her face in her hands. A camera reporter guy had followed and snapped a photo of Rarity accidently letting his flash to go off.

Rainbow Dash turns around to yell at the guy. “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING!? SHE JUST LOST SOMEONE! SHE JUST LOST HER SOULMATE AND YOU’RE TAKING PICTURES!? GET OUT OF HERE!”

“Sh-she’s s-so b-beautiful re-re-gar-da-le-less… and, and her f-face isn’t in th-the shot.” the poor guy stammered out.

“It’s alright, Dash, let him be.” Rarity spoke quietly. “Let me see the photo, please. If you are to publish it.”

The camera reporter guy fumbles with his camera. “Y-yes, M-miss Rarity. I g-got yo-your name fr-from earlier…” He blushes.

“It’s enchanting. You may use it. But, please, no more. And you can call me that if you want.” Rarity says and turns away.

“You got your picture… please leave.” Dash says as cool as she could. And the guy leaves. She turns back towards Rarity and almost gets toppled over. Rarity threw her arms around Dash crying hard once more. All she could do was wrap her arms around her friend to comfort. Fluttershy walks up behind Rarity and embraces her and Dash at the same time. Soon, everyone else started to join in one by one like earlier inside the grand ballroom.

After a few more minutes they all let go. There were chairs set outside just enough for all of them to sit.

“We have to call home and inform everyone, I can do that. I also need to call Princess Celestia and Luna to ask them what to do…” Twilight Sparkle says solemnly.

“Please?” Rarity speaks up. “Please do that for me? For us?”

“Of course, Rarity.” Twilight responds. “I take it upon myself, this duty.”

Rarity’s eyes start to tear up again. “But, please? When you get the Apple Family side of everyone? Guide me through with courage to tell them myself?”

“Yes, anything.” Twilight breathes, inhaling and exhaling as deep as her lungs could take in.

Everyone else repeated the word “Anything.” to Rarity.

“Trixie isn’t here yet, Twily.” Pinkie talks to Twilight but looks at Rarity. “We wouldn’t want you to be by yourself. You can join my suite. We can even throw a Depression Party.” she didn’t even know how she was able to deadpan a joke like that but she managed with a monotone ‘Ha-ha’ attached.

“Not its fine, Pinkie. Thanks for the invite. Trixie sent me a text that she’s on her way. She just landed half an hour ago and is going through customs or whatever.” Twilight stood up to hug Pinkie.

Everyone started the group hug again. Then they herded their way to the Inn’s door not bothering to look at the red stained carpets. The elevator squeezed all 12 bodies in it with the girl Pegasi flapping their wings above everyone else.
