Twilight's Big Day
Twilight's Big Day
Load Full StoryIt was a sunny day in Canterlot. The sky was blue and pristine, the perfect day for a ceremony. And that’s just what was happening. Twilight Sparkle looked toward the crowd of ponies at the castle. It was her initiation into become the new princess of Equestria. Twilight could hardly believe it. Finally, all of her studies and good deeds would pay off!
“And now, for Twilight’s crowning moment!” Celestia announced. Twilight beamed. She couldn't believe how happy she was. Her friends, parents, and brother all cheered as she was given her wings. Literally, she was turned into an alicorn. But as this happened, a new emotion filled Twilight’s senses. She felt light headed. Was I fainting from too much excitement? Twilight thought. She fell from the pedestal were she was standing. As she slipped into unconsciousness, her friends and family surrounded her with concerned and confused looks.
“Ugh, what happened?” Twilight says as she wakes up. He head is reeling. She feels cold metal at her back as well. As she tries to focus on what happened, she finds that she’s in a stone dungeon, with only a barred off window as a light source. Twilight looks around to see rusted clamps attached to chains on the wall. A faint red is stained on some spots of the floor. The floor itself seems to be plate metal that has also been rusted. Twilight looks up to see cages swinging from chains with what looked like pony skeletons in them. Twilight tries to move to escape this prison, but looks over to her hooves and sees that their strapped down with iron clamps.
“I must have been knocked out and carried away, but how did someone do that with all of the ponies watching me?” Twilight says as she stares at her clamps. She then realizes that the clamps, like every other piece of metal around her, were rusted. Twilight thought to herself, “If whoever did this thinks this can hold me, then that’s pathetic. I’m the most powerful unicorn in Equestria!” She smirks as she starts charging a spell to undo her clamps. But right before she casts her spell, she feels a cool stab at her neck.
Twilight squeals and turns to see that it’s a needle full of a green liquid. Twilight looks up as best as she could to whomever injected the liquid. It was a white male unicorn, wearing what appeared to be Canterlot’s guard armor, although it was much darker than usual. His face is disguised by his helmet. Twilight doesn’t even recognize this pony. Did he do this to her? As the pony started to leave, Twilight spoke up.
“Wait! Wait! Come Back! Help me!” Twilight cried. But it looked as if the pony ignored her and left. Twilight then remembered what she was doing, and tried to charge a spell again. But this time, she couldn’t. “That liquid must have stopped my magic!” She exclaimed.
At this point, Twilight became extremely confused. Why is this happening? She thought. One minute I’m about to become princess of Canterlot and become an alicorn, and then another I’m in a dungeon, strapped to a metal table! At that moment, Twilight heard a door open. She was a little excited. Maybe it’s the unicorn coming back to help me! She thought. But as the character moved into view, Twilight grew scared. It was a tall unicorn rolling a covered, rusty table. The table’s wheels squeaked and creaked as they rolled across the flooring. The unicorn’s face and horn was covered by a headsman’s mask, save for the eyes. The unicorn’s body was dressed in a full body black suit. Twilight couldn’t even tell if the unicorn was a male or female.
“Oh, I have been waiting for this day for a LONG time!” The unicorn said muffled underneath the mask. Twilight tried to recognize the voice, but it was too muffled to be recognizable. It sounded feminine though.
“Who—who are you?” Twilight said, hoping to at least get some form of answer.
The unicorn replied “Now now Twilight, if I told you, the reveal wouldn’t be a surprise!” As she walked over to a clothed table. “Now, it’s time to get to work!”
The mysterious unicorn ripped off the cover on the table, and what was revealed made Twilight shutter with fear. A set of rusted tools lied on a silver tray. Pliers that were worn out, a saw with what looked like dried blood on it, a sledge hammer with a metal head, a pair of jumper cables tied to a huge battery, and an assortment of knifes, scalpels, and other medical tools covered the rest of the tray. Twilight felt hot tears run down her cheeks,
“Wh—what are you going to do to me?” She asked with a shutter, hoping this was all a sick prank by some pony, probably Rainbow Dash or Pinkie. But even they’re not this cruel. Twilight thought.
The unicorn snickered “We’re going to have a little fun, Twilight Sparkle!” The unicorn picked up the saw. “First thing to go is your horn! That liquid my associate injected you with should prevent your use of magic, and once it’s gone, you’ll never cast another spell again!” The unicorn said as she approached Twilight.
“NO! Not my horn! Anything but my horn!” Twilight yelled. She squirmed and shook her head to prevent the unicorn from cutting her horn.
“Hold still!” shouted the unicorn.
“Never! You will never cut off my horn!” Twilight shouted in retaliation. As a last resort, Twilight tried to cast a spell. She didn’t care if the spell made her vanish to the other side of Equestria! She wanted to get out of this place NOW! Twilight focused hard, but all that happened was a single spark that fell from the tip of her horn like a hot ember from a fire. The unicorn became angry; she had a schedule to keep and Twilight was not cooperating. The unicorn went over to the table and picked up a scalpel. She took the scalpel and plunged it into one of Twilight’s legs. “AHHHHHHH!” Twilight screamed in pain as blood gushed from the wound. It ran down her leg, giving Twilight a sudden chill.
“Now sit still or the next one will be in your eye!” The unicorn demanded.
Twilight immediately went still, in fear of going blind in one of her eyes. The unicorn approached Twilight again with the saw. Twilight started to cry as the saw got closer to her horn. She braced herself for the impact. In what seemed like an eternity for Twilight, the unicorn’s saw finally slammed the saw into the base of Twilight’s horn. Twilight let out a blood-curdling scream as an immense wave of pain washed over her. Her head felt as if it was on fire. Blood dripped and spilled over Twilight’s forehead, turning her lavender fur dry with a maroon red coating. Some of it dripped onto the table into puddles on the floor, also turning the floor into deep maroon-stained chrome. As the unicorn proceeded to saw Twilight’s horn off, Twilight cried with every motion.
“HELP! ANYPONY! HELP ME! THIS PONY IS A PSYCHOPATH!” Her screams for help filled the dungeon.
“I don’t know why you even try screaming Twilight, the walls are 150 feet thick with stone and we’re 50 feet underground! A sonic rainboom in here couldn’t be heard outside!” The unicorn said as she kept sawing. Her strokes getting faster the deeper the saw went into the horn.
The pain grew as the saw cut the nerves in the horn. Twilight voice started sounding sore from all the screaming. The unicorn stopped when she cut about halfway through her horn. Twilight sniffed and sobbed as she looked at her captor with tears rolling down her cheeks.
“Time to get cracking!” The unicorn said as she grabbed the horn and snapped it right off of Twilight’s head. Blood spewed from the dent left by, oozing over Twilight’s face, turning her already blood soaked fur into a deeper shade of red. Twilight had to close her eyes to prevent herself from getting blood in her eyes as it went over her eye lids. But as the horn got yanked off, a huge flap of her scalp followed, taking some of Twilight’s hair along with the horn. As this was happening, Twilight howled at this sudden surge of pain. Her voice suddenly boomed as loud as she could make it.
“AHHHHHHHH! STOP! PLEASE! She pleaded. Her muscles tensed and her body convulsed at the dry crack of bone. When Twilight could finally look through her tear soaked eyes, she nearly threw up at the sight. There was her horn, in the bloody hoofs of her captor, followed by some of her royal purple hair, still dripping with blood. Some of her pink streak was even in it! As the unicorn laughed at Twilight’s saddened and pain-ridden face, Twilight’s realization of the event struck in: Twilight’s knowledge of spells and magic was now useless to her. She started weeping even more at this thought. Her face became even slicker from the mix of blood and tears.
“Now with that pesky horn out of the way, I can focus on those wings.”
“Wings? What was she talking about? I don’t have wings!” Twilight thought to herself. She then remembered that she was transformed into an alicorn earlier that day. Twilight turned her head as best as she could and to her astonishment, there were two lavender wings behind her not clamped to the board. When the unicorn turned around to get another implement of torture, Twilight quickly tried to use her wings to fly out of her clamps, but she wasn’t Rainbow Dash, and Twilight remained firmly stuck to the board.
“Now, I’ll need my bone saw for this. My old, rusty saw will probably just give you tetanus.” The unicorn said as she reached under the table for her bone saw. Twilight started to shutter. She never had wings before, and now, they we’re going to be clipped from her like a chicken. As the saw got closer, Twilight’s heart raced. She felt like her heart would bounce right out of her chest. Which to her, seemed like a better alternative than this.
“NO! GET AWAY!” Twilight yelled as she managed to use her forehoof to knock the saw out of her captor’s hand and cut her hoof.
“OW!” yelled the unicorn, as she covered the cut. “You insolent mare! I spent all week making this jump suit for the occasion, and you rip it?!” Twilight than noticed beneath her black suit that her coat was white. Twilight then put the pieces together, a white unicorn that makes clothes?
“R…Rarity? Is that you?” Twilight asked with a murmur. The unicorn ignored her prisoner’s question, covered up her cut, and picked up the bone saw again.
“Let’s see how you like to get cut!” The unicorn said as she plunged the saw into Twilight’s left wing. This pain was brand new to Twilight, and her screams confirmed that it was horrible. The saw cut through the main bone with ease, and started cutting the rest of the flesh and muscle. Blood spew from the fresh wound like a geyser.
“It’s a good thing you never used wings before, most pegasus’ tendons in their wings are strong and hard to cut through. But cutting through your wings is like cutting butter with a hot knife!”
The unicorn laughed as she finished the first wing. She moved on to the next. Twilight choked back the tears and screams as she knew what to expect. When the second wing came off, the unicorn went in front of Twilight and showed her the wings.
“And to think that one day you might have used these!” The unicorn mocked. Twilight looked at the wings with shame. No horn, no wings, she was a regular earth pony now. The only thing left that represented her magic ability was her cutie mark.
“Now, before we really get started, I must have that cutie mark of yours! It will look great in a frame!” The unicorn snickered.
Twilight dreaded those words. “Please! Not my cutie mark! I don’t care if you chop off one of my hooves, but please don’t take my cutie mark!” Twilight started to cry. “It’s all I have left.” Twilight’s sobbing and weeping for mercy echoed though the dungeon.
“Hmm, one of your hooves you say?” The unicorn asked. “I’ll tell you what Twilight; I’ll let you keep your cutie mark if I can cut off one of your hooves.”
Twilight suddenly froze with fear once again. She was just bluffing! The decision was impossible! Twilight thought. She pondered for an alternative.
“You already have my horn and my wings, can’t you just let me go?’ Twilight pleaded.
“I believe that’s not a choice Twilight, and since you didn’t make a decision, I think I’ll be taking BOTH! The unicorn said with a sneer.
“No…NO! PLEASE! DON’T! I’LL DO ANYTHING!” Twilight screamed.
“It’s too late for that Twilight, you should have answered when I told you to.” The unicorn said, sharpening her butcher knife. The scraping of the knife makes Twilight grit her teeth and cringe with fear.
“PLEASE! STOP!” Twilight yelled, still pleading.
“Enough of your yelling! You're giving me a headache!” The unicorn said as she approached Twilight. “This should shut you up!” The unicorn plunged the knife into the side of Twilight’s left forehoof. Twilight eyes grew as the pain intensive; she let out a piercing scream. It sounded like the equivalent of ten banshees at a rave! Twilight then started to fell weak. She passed out; the last thing she heard was the unicorn's maniacal laughter. She woke up a few minutes later with an immense pain in her left hoof. When she turned to see what happened, she saw she had no left hoof. The entire hoof, horse shoe and all, was cut off, leaving only a bloody stump of flesh and bone. “Did you enjoy your little nap, because it’s the last one you’ll ever take!” The unicorn said pulling out an adrenaline needle from Twilight’s abdomen. “The only reason I woke you was that I wanted to see your face as I cut off your cutie mark!” The unicorn said with a sneer. Twilight struggled to speak.
“Please, no…” she said weakly. The unicorn once again, ignored her request and took out a scalpel.
“Compared to all the other pain and misery you've experienced, this will be small. You should be thanking me!” The unicorn said as she began making the incision around her cutie mark. Small amounts of blood dribbled down from the cut as the unicorn made an ovular shape around the mark. Twilight barely felt anything; the cut was like pins and needles compared to her horn being yanked off. “Now, for the fun part!” The unicorn said with insane glee. The unicorn place one hoof on the cutie mark and in one swift movement, ripped the skin right off Twilight’s thigh.
Twilight screamed as the skin separated from the muscle. The muscles held fast to their home, but after a quick swipe with a knife, they snapped back to Twilight’s leg. Each snap causing more misery for the lavender alicorn, making the pain even greater. The enigmatic unicorn lifted the cutie mark in front of Twilight’s depressed-ridden face. Twilight couldn't take it anymore. She has lost her horn, wings, and one of her cutie marks. Twilight felt bile build up in her throat. In a sudden movement, Twilight turned to the right and coughed up vomit and blood. The revolting mixture splashed onto the floor in a puddle.
“Well, that’s just distasteful.” The unicorn said in disgust. “But, it was worth it for your cutie mark!” Twilight coughed and spit out the awful taste in her mouth in response. Hot tears were falling down her cheeks. “Now for the other one!” The unicorn said as walking over to Twilight’s other flank.
“Please…For the love of Celestia…let me keep just one” Twilight said, choking back tears. The unicorn looked at the broken, bloody Twilight. She responded in a very annoyed tone.
“Oh, fine. Since I’m so generous, you can keep your other cutie mark. I only need one anyway.” Generous? Twilight then knew it was Rarity, without a doubt. By why is she torturing me? Is she jealous of my success? Did Rarity want to take my place as the new princess? Twilight thought. “Now before I end this, I believe I promised Pinkie to get her some new ingredients. She said she was running low.” Twilight became perplexed.
“What does Pinkie have to do with this?” Twilight asked.
“You’re about to find out!” The unicorn replied, picking up the scalpel again. Twilight groaned as the unicorn made some incisions on Twilight’s stomach, forming an I pattern in her flesh.
“Please…please just let me go! I don’t care if I never use magic again! I just want to go home!” Twilight begged. The unicorn simply laughed at her request.
“Ohh, Twilight. You still think you’re going to leave, that’s cute.” The unicorn opened the flaps on Twilight’s skin, revealing her organs and rib cage. Twilight felt faint. No pony should ever see their insides, it just wasn’t right! Twilight thought. “Relax Twilight, I’m not taking anything vital; Just your spleen, a kidney, your intestines, liver. That should be enough for Pinkie's cupcakes!”
“Pinkie doesn’t use ponies in her cupcakes! I’ve seen her bake hundreds of times!” Twilight protested.
“That’s just for her cover. Every night she makes her cupcakes this way, taking ponies off the street for her cupcakes. She normally throws away that fake batch when your back is turned.” The unicorn explained as she pulled out Twilight’s liver. Twilight felt each of her organs as they were yanked out of her body. She saw her crazed captor pull out organ after organ, even a few of her ribs! “The ribs make for a great pie crust!” The unicorn said. The pain slowly diminished as she fell unconscious yet again. Twilight awoke to an onslaught of misery. She felt lifeless and weak; she was surprised she was still alive! “I’m impressed with you Twilight! You only passed out twice in an hour! Most ponies die around here!” The unicorn said in excitement. Twilight could barely speak. Her face was numb from lack of blood. “Now, for the grand finale!” The unicorn yelled as she walked over to the wall behind Twilight. Twilight heard a lever be pulled in the background. Suddenly, the metal floor opened to revel a huge grinder. A set of steel buzz saws were red from its last victim.
“No…Not like this! PLEASE! Twilight pleaded.
“I’m actually sad Twilight; your pain and suffering will finally cease. It brings a tear to my eye.” The unicorn wiped her eyes and un-hitched Twilight from the metal board. The unicorn carried Twilight to the edge of the machine. The unicorn cast a spell and in an instant, the machine came to life. The buzz saws slowly started grinding and spinning as they gained power. “Your body will make a great fertilizer for the Castle Gardens!” The unicorn yelled over the noise. “Since your life is about to end Twilight, I will give you your dying wish. It can be anything except for me letting you go, which you probably know by now! Now, what will it be?” The unicorn said as she put one hoof on Twilight, ready to push her into the grinder. Twilight thought fast for an answer. She wanted to go home to her library. She wanted see Spike and Owlowlicious again. She wanted to see her friends and hug them, even if it was just for one more time. But one thing stood out in her mind:
“I…want to know…why you would do this to your friend Rarity? Why?” Twilight asked softly. The unicorn snickered.
“You still haven't figured it out Twilight? I’m not Rarity.”
“But…the white fur, the horn, your generosity, and your skill at clothes!”
“While me and Rarity have some similarities. She doesn’t share my skills in magic…” The unicorn pulled off her headsman’s mask. Twilight looked at her captor’s face in horror.
“My star student!” Celestia answered, her hair flowing from the wind of the buzz saws.
“But, why Celestia?! Why torture me like this?! I was going to become an alicorn because of you!”
“That’s the point! You were going to take my place as ruler! But I’ll make sure that never happens.” Celestia put both of her hooves on Twilight’s back and leaned her toward the saws.
“Good bye Twilight Sparkle!” Celestia pushed Twilight down into the machine. As Twilight plummeted toward her death, she looked up at her teacher with a look of grief and depression. Celestia looked back with a wicked smile. Tears fell alongside her as she fell. What seemed like after an eternity, Twilight finally hit the grinder. As she felt the buzz saws rip her to shreds, grind her bones, and scramble the rest of her organs, all she wondered was:
“Why?”
And then she was gone.
Celestia looked down at the machine with a look of sadness. “She’s really gone…” Celestia started to sob quietly. Celestia wiped the tears from her eyes and regained her focus. “Keep it together Celestia; she was going to take your throne away!” Celestia said to herself. “I not letting anyone, not even my start student take that away! I've ruled this planet for hundreds of years, and I’m not going to let it end now!” Celestia walked over to the door. She opened a little slot on the door. “GUARDS! Take that bucket of "ingredients" and deliver it to Pinkie!” Celestia said to two of Luna’s guards outside.
“Yes Your Majesty!” The guards replied. They entered the dungeon and took the bucket away.
“It was so nice of Luna to let me borrow her guards!” Celestia said in delight. Celestia then walked over to Twilight’s horn, wings, hair, and cutie mark, thinking about what she should do with the pieces of Twilight’s former body. “Hmm…Ah! That’s it!” Celestia quickly picked up the body parts, put them in a bucket, and ran out of the dungeon as fast as she could. A few minutes later, Celestia is in her bedroom. Putting the finishing touches on her new masterpiece.
“And…Perfect!” Celestia steps back to admire her work. Twilight’s wings, horn, hair, and crown were pinned on a replica head of Twilight. Twilight’s cutie mark was next to the mannequin head in a frame on a shelf. “Even though she’s long gone, I have this as a reminder!” Celestia said with glee. Just then, a guard walked into the room.
“Your Majesty, the “ingredients” have been delivered to Pinkie.” He said in a stern voice.
“Excellent!” Celestia responded.
“Also, Spike is in the throne room, asking about Twilight’s whereabouts.” The guard said. This made Celestia grin.
“Prep my tools.” She said in an evil tone.
“Yes, Your Majesty.” The guard replied. And with that, he left. Celestia followed after him, carrying her headsman’s mask.
“Soon, you’ll have a friend to keep you company Twilight!” Celestia said looking back at the head. “Very soon…”
