//-------------------------------------------------------// The Mane Six's Strange, Yet Blocky Endevour -by Mr Anomalous- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Celestia Almighty... //-------------------------------------------------------// Celestia Almighty... Chapter Two: Well, that's what the were all thinking. Not only had they randomly been transported to a blocky world of monsters, but there was one creature who seemed quite intelligent and advanced. Not only had he built his own little realm up from practically dust, by himself, but he also could communicate in multiple ways. Twilight was admittedly quite excited to see what else this strange creature had up his sleeves. It was the next morning, and the creature was already up. "Say," Twilight asked, "Do you...even have a name?" I sat there staring at my screen. This A. I It's almost as if Twilight was actually transported into the game. Notch is a lot better of a programmer than I had originally thought. Then I wondered how I would answer her. There was my Username, Gamerking126, my real name, Dalton C. Perry, my internet name, Epic Nerd, my second internet name, which I use when the first is already taken, LordEpicNerd, and my avatar's name: Steve. Twilight was looking at me expectantly , so I decided on something that sounded really cool to me. "I have many names, for many different purposes, and for many different worlds." It sounded even cooler coming from my mouth than it did in my head! Twilight raised her eyebrows at him. "You can travel to different worlds?" Again, kind of hard to answer. Did MineCraft really count as an entire separate world? "Ehh, yes and no." "Well, because I was wondering if maybe you could help us get back to where we came from. A place called Equestria?" This was unbelievable. Just wow. I couldn't get over how epic this A. I. was. Again. Time to impress the game pony some more. "Yes, I know what Equestria is, located on the planet Equin, it is a fairly large country ruled in a monarchy by Princess Celestia, Princess Luna and, starting a few days ago, you." Twilight's eyebrow raise skyrocketed. "Wha-...how....why...huh?" The other ponies had waken up and were all looking at me with awed expressions. Impressing was a success. Twilight managed to finish her sentence. "How...how did you know that?" "...I have my methods...secret methods...." I couldn't help but snicker. "Mister, I won't settle for that answer. How do I know that you're not a spy for the Changelings or something?" "Why would I help the Changelings?" "I don't know!" "Well I wouldn't. You're just gonna have to trust me when I say that I'm one of the good guys. Besides, If I was a spy for someone who wanted you gone, I could have killed you in your sleep or something." "Okay, but that still doesn't answer my original question: What is your name? Or, since you have soooo maaanny, what do you want us to call you?" I thought. If I were ever transported to Equestria, as my OC, I would go by my OC's name, Epic Nerd, so I chose that. "Epic Nerd. Or just Epic. Or just nerd." "So....the giant 'Gamerking126' floating above your head is irrelevant?" Oh. I had forgotten about that. "That's my alias." "Why would you need an alias? We're the only intelligent things here." "Again, I have my reasons." Twilight threw her hooves up into the air and groaned. I smiled. "Okay, I think that our blabbering has awoken the rest of your friends," I said, looking over Twilight's shoulder. Yes, they were all fully awake. Applejack spoke up first, "Well hello there, mah name's Apple-" "Applejack, Bearer of Honesty, the 'Loyalist and Most Dependable of ponies.' Likes growing and harvesting apples. That's Pinkie Pie, the Element of Laughter, likes making everyone laugh and smile, throws epic parties, you're Rarity, the beautiful fashionista of Ponyville who knows all of the best ways to combine Jewels and clothes, the Element of Generosity, Fluttershy, the graceful yet timid Element of Kindness, and Rainbow Dash, one of the most talented flyers to ever exist, the Bearer of Loyalty." Rainbow Dash puffed up her chest in pride, but all of the others were staring at me yet again. "Woowee, this alien knows about all of us, isn't that cool!?" Pinkie Pies said, smiling widely. Fluttershy mumbled something about stalkers and I spoke again. "Okay, from now on, let's assume that I know literally everything about all of you, and let's get started on our day." Every single one of those ponies immedatley turned away, giant blushes forming on all of their faces. Oh-ho-HO! What have we here? "Yes, I know about that too, but there's no one here but us who can know, so it matters not." Hehehe. "Okay! I have jobs for all of you, but I think you'll like them," I walked over to a window, "Applejack, see that grove of trees? I want you to extract off of the apples from there, and then harvest and re-plant the wheat field, then feed the chickens, pigs, and cows with some of the wheat you get, but give me what's left." AJ nodded and walked out the door. "Next, Fluttershy, I want you to check all of the animals and make sure nothing's wrong." She shuddered. "Don't worry, we're on a floating island and everything is lit up; there are no monsters up here, and Rainbow, I want you to scout the area with this map," I pressed 'Q' and it flew onto the ground, where she picked it up and examined it. She nodded,"I'm on it!" and she was gone. "Pinkie Pie, I want you to plan the most epic party ever for six ponies and a MineCraftian for the end of the day to celebrate the fact that we're all still alive, help yourself to anything in the chests to make it happen, and Twilight and Rarity?" ("Okie Dokie Lokie!") They both looked back at me. "You two come with me; you're going to help me find gems and ores." Rarity's eyes brightened, but Twilight was indifferent. "Twilight, I'm actually bringing you along for extra protection, you a fraking Alicorn for goodness' sake." "Protection?" "Eeyup, monsters galore down there." I saw the concern in her eye and added, "But I'm a pretty good fighter too." She didn't look all that reassured. Okay, let's go. Armor, check, weapons, check, torches, check, etc, etc, etc. "Okay, let's go." Instead of going to the water elevator, I walked over to the edge of the massive island. "What are we doing here...?" "Twilight, would your pride take a very large hit if you were to fly us down there?" "Not really no, but I still haven't learned how to use them well enough yet-" "Wait a sec." I opened up my inventory and found a 'Strength' potion. "Drink this," I said, hucking it at the ground. Twilight furrowed here brow at it and picked it up. She uncorked it and drank it down. "Wow, what does this actually do?" "It was a strength potion, perhaps it'll strengthen your wings." "Wow, he knows magic too," she said to Rarity, then, "What else can you do?" "Well, let's see...I know that potion along with almost a hundred others, both with positive and negative effects, I know how to create a portal to a different dimension from here, know where to find and how to activate a different portal to a different dimension, I can teleport with a specific type of jewel, and I can enchant weapons, tools, armor, resources, and books." "Wow, Impressive, how-" "I'm sorry, you'll have to wait a bit to finish that questions: that potion isn't going to last much longer." "Oh! Yes, sorry, of course. Uh, hop on?" "One more sec." Saddle. I climbed on and helped Rarity up as well. "'Kay, see if you can fly." Twilight launched herself off the side, rather fearlessly, and it was perfect. There wasn't even a lurch. We were alight for a few seconds as Twilight flawlessly descended and we landed on the ground with a soft thud. I smiled and hopped off. "Nice work Twi'! Can I call ya that?" She blushed and said, "Sure." Rarity was impress too. "Good job my dear, that was nearly flawless!" Twilight blushed even deeper, "Thanks." "Okay, let's not make her feel uncomfortable: follow me." I walked off down the mountain and into the cave mouth. "A-are you sure that this is s-safe?" Rarity asked. "Didn't you hear me earlier? No, of course not, there is an entire host of undead monsters, normal, live monsters, underground lakes, magma, deep pits, and more, but I have a lot of potions and weapons, and I also have to magically inept equines with me as well: we'll be fine." She was still trembling. I sighed and said, "Look." I cracked open INV edit and grabbed a 'Spawn Creeper' egg. "Stand back and watch." They both very willingly stepped back and I went forward and then turned back. "I also forgot to mention that I can spawn whatever creature that I wish if I want." I turned back around and right-clicked the ground, and a green creeper appeared. It activated its hissing and I pulled out my sword, sliced him once, and hopped back. I managed to make it out of the blast radius and the Creeper stopped expanding and came at me again. I pulled out a potion, damage, and smashed it on the ground. The Creeper hissed and took some damage. For the final blows, I pulled out my bow-and-arrow and used it accordingly. The creature gave off a final hiss as it fell on it's side and poofed in a, well, poof of particles. "There, see? Actually, now that I think of it, I should give you a briefing..." I spent the next several minutes explaining the different hostile mobs, spawning and battling an example of each one, and I also explained the neutral mobs, who needed to be provoked. "Please tell me that you can make some nice creatures!" Twilight said. "Yes, I can." I spawned a villager, and many of the passive mobs. "And, just in case my skills, along with your two's magic fails, I can make one, or twelve, with these guys." I constructed an Iron Golem, who's shadow enveloped the two ponies and myself. "Wow, what does he do?" Rarity asked. "Lumbers around and smashes baddies, now, are you finally ready?" "Oh I suppose, but if I get dirty, you're to blame." Twilight giggled and I whispered, "Oh, she's going to get filthy." //-------------------------------------------------------// Lord Almighty... //-------------------------------------------------------// Lord Almighty... Chapter One: Twilight and her friends were all doing what they all did best together: having fun. This particular 'fun' activity was a picnic. Good 'ole picnics. One of the best ways to wind down after a long and stressful day of hard studying. With the tea, and the sandwich, the bright sunny day, and the chirping birds, it sure melts stress off of your back quite rapidly. Not to mention that all of her best friends were there. Pinkie was chasing a butterfly, Rarity was fussing over her hoof, Applejack was leaned against the trunk of the tree under which they all lay, Rainbow Dash was up against the opposite side of the tree, muzzle buried into the newest Daring Do novel and Fluttershy was staring off into the distance, pondering...something, while giving her little cup of tea a sip every now and then. Twilight just smiled and returned her eyes to a book of her own. It was a nonfiction, of course. This one was about the universe as Ponies knew it. Written by one of StarSwirl the Bearded's apprentices, it was a good read. Ponies didn't really know all that much about their reality, but they knew enough to keep a pony like Twilight occupied. Ironically, she was getting to a really interesting part about theories involving other dimensions when it happened. The ground shuddered. It was quick, but it was brutal. It knocked all six ponies a foot or two into the air, and they all came down. Hard. "Ow! What in tarnation?" Exclaimed Applejack, as she began rubbing her bruised backside. Rainbow Dash had been launched directly into the branches of the tree, and she just then escaped. "Yeah! What they hay is going on here!?" Twilight was a bit disoriented, as were the other ponies. Pinkie's butterfly rampage had been halted, and Fluttershy lay curled up in a fetal position, trembling. Rarity was having issues recovering as well. "Was it an' earthquake?" Applejack asked. Twilight answered, "If it was, it was unlike an earthquake I've heard of befo-" It happened again, this time more violently. Rainbow had her senses up, and managed to fly off of the ground before she was bucked through the air again. She managed to catch the two closest ponies to her, Applejack and Twilight, but the others weren't so lucky. "Okay, what's going on here, and how can we stop it? If this continues, the entire town'll be knocked over!" Applejack shouted. Twilight began to think. It might not have been an earthquake, but whatever it was was probably preventable. The return of a villain? No. A rift in Space-Time Continuum? No- Yes. It happened a third time. Twilight closed her eyes, bracing herself for her third impact with the unforgiving ground. It came, and drew an oof from the purple mare. She rolled over on her stomach, holding in tears. Ugh, she needed to figure out how to stop this! Twilight was just about to open her eyes and brace herself for another lurch of the planet. This bracing was in vain; the buck never came. Was that it? "Heeeeyyy..." It was Rainbow Dash. Twilight finally opened her eyes and gasped at her surroundings. She was definitely not outside of Ponyville anymore, that much was for sure. All of her friends were accounted for; they were visible but all strewn about the area. Rarity and Fluttershy had to climb down from a tree. The tree, just like everything, was blocks. Squares. Cubes. "What in the name of Celestia?" Twilight mumbled. "Okay, this is officially super-weird." Rainbow said. "I-I-I agree, not just weird, but really, really scary!" Fluttershy said, trembling on the ground again. Rarity looked around in wonder, as did Twilight and the rest of the group. They seemed to be in a forest. There were two types of trees, roses and daisies, and some bunches of tall grass that swayed in the wind. Beyond the forest was the most majestic range of mountains that Twilight had ever seen. The other ponies had noticed it too, and there was a collective woah.... The mountains went high and low, and were punctured with lots and lots of gaping holes that lead into deep caves. Twilight noticed many things that were, supposedly, physically impossible, particularly the giant floating island that rested above the massive mountains. There were several streams of water running over the sides and from the bottom of this floating beast. It was breathtaking. Breathtaking and yet quite ugly all at the same time. Everything was...a bucking square. Twilight, though previously frustrated (you would be too, if you had been plucked from your home reality and hucked into another one) was now bursting with nerd pride. "This is great! From the looks of it, we are the first ponies to ever set hoof here! I will be the greatest scientist ever!" She ran from pony to pony as she exclaimed this hopping up and down. "Okay, first we need to gather samples, and then we-" "Twilight?" Rarity said. "-need to document our findings-" "Twiiiiliiight?" "-and then-" "Twilight!" Twilight halted her hopping and blabbering, with a somewhat embarrassed look plastered across her face. "Yes, ahem, sorry Rarity, what?" "Well, this is great and all, us being the first ponies ever to be here, but what about home? We can't stay here forever. And we may be the only ponies here, but what else lives here? Maybe there are dangerous beasts the live here. And, as you can see, it is getting dark. Maybe some of these monstrous beasts are nocturnal." Rarity was wide-eyed at this point, and she shivered. "Yes...I suppose you're right. Shoot, you're right. What if we don't make it back? What-What if the air is poisonous, and we're slowly!? No! I can't finish my studies with Celestia! I just barley got my wings! We're all going to die!" "Twilight!" Rarity had to interject again. "Huh?" "Calm. Down." Twilight nodded and took a deep breath. After she had calmed down, she spoke again. "Well. I don't mean to be a drag, but home seems a bit far off right now, so let's deal with the second issue. Let's see if we can find a cave to stay in for now." "I'm on it!" There was a streak of Cyan, and Rainbow Dash was gone. A full three seconds later, there she was again. "I found one that's close enough to the ground that we can all climb into, and it's also shallow so that it's not too big, but it's also deep enough for all of us to have our space." Twilight was impressed. "Good good Rainbow." The cyan pegasus puffed up her chest. "Come on girls." And they all set off towards this nice cave that Rainbow had supposedly found, and a great adventure began for them. But, right now, the adventure is about to begin for me as well. I sat down in my room, on my comfy office chair and cracked open my Red Bull. I placed it on the old book that I was currently using as a coaster and started up my computer. It was a big'un, A Dell CPS m1730. And I got it for free. Sometimes it comes in handy to have a ridiculously rich uncle. I opened up MineCraft and entered my log-in info. I waited for a couple seconds as the 'Mojang' logo appeared on the screen, followed by the MineCraft menu. I selected 'Singleplayer,' then, 'Goop.' I don't remember why, but I always name my survival worlds "Goop." It loaded up and I spawned right where I left off; in my mine. It wasn't really so much as my mine as so much the world's caverns, but whatever. I wanted to get right back to mining, but I remembered that I cracked my last iron pickax the last time I played. Crap. I followed my torches through the winding passageways, up and up, until I found the gaping entrance. I hopped out of it and followed the gravel path that I had lain up the side of the mountain. A great shadow engulfed me and my surroundings, which meant that my floating abode was near. I found the waterfall that led through the layers of stone and to the surface, and steered Steve inside. I held the spacebar and I began to swim upwards. After a few seconds, my head emerged and I located my house. It was a pretty nice house, with cobblestone and oak wood and glass panes. I had decorated the area with torches and with flowers as well. It was nearing nighttime, but I didn't really care: I had a fell set of iron armor and a diamond sword. I would be safe. I crafted three iron picks and dropped them into my inventory. I left my house, making sure to shut the door behind me, and jumped into my water elevator once more, this time for the descent. Twilight and the gang had made it to the cave, and were helping each other up. Soon, they were all inside, and Twilight used her magic to start a small fire. They all sat in silence for a while, separately pondering recent events. Twilight noticed something on a stone shelf above them and somewhat wobbly flew up to investigate. (She was still getting a bit used to her new wings) She gasped when she realized what it was: a helmet. At least, she thought it was a helmet. She grasped it with her front hooves and flew back down. "Girls, look at this." "Woaahhh, and alien helmet!" Pinkie exclaimed. "That's what it looks like to me. Seems to be made of iron, and it's pretty rusty. It's pretty old." "How old my dear?" Rarity asked. "I'm not sure exactly, but it's old. It doesn't look like it would fit a pony. I wonder if whoever, or whatever, made this is still here." Yes. Yes he was. And he was right above them. What the heck? Are those voices? Are they they're voices? Heck, I knew that Notch was a brony, but when did he implement ponies into the game? I hadn't seem them yet, just heard, so I wasn't entirely that that's who it was, but I was pretty damn sure. The purple light emanating from the cave was sure-fire evidence for me. Okay, Mojang made a deal with Hasbro and put ponies into the game. But when? There hadn't been a new update for months. Had they been added in the last update? And, if so, how come I hadn't found them until now? Well, time to investigate. The ponies all sat staring at the helmet, trying to deduce where it had came from, and who/what it might be able to fit. In fact, they were so focused on the article of armor, that they didn't notice the strange creature enter the cave. He stood about six feet tall, and was covered in hear-to-toe with armor and thick clothing. He had a blue sword strapped to his back, and a pickax in his hand. He was made a squares too. Wow! Yes, my favorite video game had become integrated with my favorite tv show, epic. But the ponies....they...they weren't made of squares! They actually looked exactly like that had from the show! Strange that should've slowed my computer down lots, but whatever. They were so interested in the old, damaged iron helmet that I had discarded earlier that they had yet to notice my presence. I pondered how I could get their attention. I didn't want to punch one, not did I want to lodge an arrow in the wall next to them. They were probably like wolves, peaceful, but mean when provoked. I had an idea and hit the 'T' on my keyboard, and the little dark box used for commands and LAN-chatting appeared. Hello? I keyed in. I paused for a bit, but shrugged and hit 'Enter.' "Woah! What?" Twilight blinked, trying to get the letters off of her eyes. The world "HELLO" had just appeared on both of her eyes, as well as her other pony friends. Okay, alien? Where did that come from. After a few seconds, the words faded away and Twilight could see clearly again. Pinkie Pie was on the floor, rolling around and giggling. "Hehehe! That ticked me eyes!" Well, that seemed to get their attention. After receiving my message (Not sure how exactly) they all fell back a bit. They were all asking questions and Pinkie apparently thought that it tickled. They began looking around, and, finally, they found me. "Woah! Look, there! There's one!" The strange creature just looked down at them, his face eerily still. His arms shifted back and forth slowly as he stood there. Twilight gathered up some courage and approached the creature. "Um...Hello to you too?" Yes! I love you Notch! I can talk to them and everything! Maybe I could tame Twilight, and fly around on her, or maybe I could get Applejack to pick my apples, or maybe Fluttershy could tame hostile mobs, or, or, ah this is awesome! I keyed in another message. Twilight was surprised yet again as the words, "Cool! You can all talk!" appeared. "Uh, yes, yes we can. Is...is that how you communicate? By projecting text?" The creature's head bobbed back and forth in what could only be a messy nod. It was kind of gruesome. Rainbow winced. This was awesome. Best day ever. I was about to 'say' something else when I heard a crunching noise, and Steve jumped. I checked my hearts, and, sure enough, one was empty. All of the ponies watching in grim fascination as the creature turned around, the sword that was previously on his back now in his hand, and they saw and arrow protruding from the back of his head. He ran, rather dorkily, from the cave and into the night. The ponies heard many strange noises. Crunching, hissing, slurping, more clanging and twanging, and even an explosion. "What's going on!? Does he need our help?" Rainbow asked, and eager look in her eyes. "No, no, leave him be." The cyan pegasus looked a bit disappointed, but landed on the cave floor anyway, and began straining her eyes, trying to see what was to come of their blocky hero. Soon, I was done fighting. I went back up to the ponies and asked them to follow me. I led them up to my house, and heard Rarity ask why they didn't notice it before. They were kind of weird about swimming up the water elevator, but it still worked for them. Of course, Twilight, Rainbow and Fluttershy all just flew up and were waiting for us. I led them into my house, and hurriedly built six more beds. I had lots of extra wool. "Wow, pretty cozy in here," Twilight said, looking at the paintings and torches the adorned the room. I did another disgusting nod. It was right then that I had an idea. I typed 'wait a sec,' and minimized MineCraft. I got up and plugged in my mic that had lain dormant for a while. I started up Talkie, a voice mod that allows gamers to talk with their actual voices. I unpaused the game and spoke. "Can you hear me?" I said it a bit to excitedly and startled all of the ponies. Again. "Did-did you just actually talk?" Twilight asked, wide-eyed. "Haha! Success!" "How? Wha-?" "I just plugged in my microphone and...wow, you guys have some awesome A.I." "A.I?" "Artificial Intelligence." "Well, I'm pretty sure that my intelligence isn't....artificial." I chuckled. Silly ponies. "Well, anywho, time to get to bed, we have a long day ahead of us. Go on, get, into bed." There was some groaning, but Pinkie Pie was ecstatic. "Whee! I get to sleep on an alien planet!" She gasped, "And not in a cave! Yay!" Everyone rolled their eyes and I right-clicked on my bed. Of course, the "night" really only lasted a second once you go into bed, I think it was a full 12 hours for the ponies. I got out and just stood there. This was a freaking amazing edition. Thank you Mojang! //-------------------------------------------------------// Mining Diamonds and Dueling Monsters //-------------------------------------------------------// Mining Diamonds and Dueling Monsters Mining Diamonds and Dueling Monsters We descended into the yawning cave mouth, the dim path lit by scattered torches. At first, it was just your average caves. But then, as we got deeper, the gray, stone passage began to grow noticeably. Then, "What's that...bubbly noise?" Rarity leaned and asked. I answered, saying, "Magma. We're getting closer." "M-m-magma?" "Yes. Molten hot stone." Though Rarity was a bit concerned, Twilight seemed to be excited. "I have to say, this is really interesting. I've never seen a natural stream of Magma before!" I chuckled and led the way. We traveled deeper down the corridor, which grew larger and larger, bit by bit, until we were in a cavern. A cold, wet breeze blew from the vast expanses of the impossibly large cave system that snaked on for eternity, leading who knows where. The only sound was the muffled bubbling, boiling noises and the sounds of our walking. Then there was something else. A moan. Twilight and Rarity shrieked in unison and I twirled around to see a rotting corpse, walking towards them. My years of MineCraft nerdieness kicked in and I scrolled to my diamond weapon. He was dead, again, within only a hit or two. "Some protection you guys are," I chuckled playfully, "honestly, I'm surprised that it took so long for one of them to spot us." The poor Equines just sat there, shivering. I heard two simultaneous gasps as we finally reached it. The Ravine Network. I had found it when I was mining earlier, and it was glorious. There, in front of us, was a ravine that led to the surface, down to only fix or six blocks before bedrock. Then, at the end of each ravine, were two more, going off in either direction. Lava bubbled as it mixed with water, sending steam and particles shooting into the air. Ores, so many ores, lined the walls. That wasn't all, each ravine had several cave entrances dotting the sides. Like I said, it was glorious. And I had a plan. "Okay ladies, want some more protection, light up those horns and let's find some diamonds!" They did. And there were diamonds. And it too, was glorious. It was night when we finally came back, and Rarity was furious with me. I had been right: she was filthy dirty. But it's okay, 'cuz so were Twilight and I. We made our way back up to my home, and, as expected, Pinkie had a party waiting for us. It was....epic? There, how's that word. What a great first, full day with MineCraft and Ponies!
