Wings Of Hope

Chapter 2

Twilight Sparkle and a few guards entered Ward 12 on that Saturday. A brown coated doctor greeted her and bowed down,

“You majesty, we’re honoured that you’ve come,” He said humbly, “Star Shine has been so excited to see you. She even has your letter framed up on the wall. Allow me to show you the way.”

Twilight, her guards and the Doctor trotted through a grey door, on the other side a small, light grey filly with a blue mane slowly opened her eyes. Twilight was surprised how she could sleep with a giant machine beeping to her subtle heartbeat all the time. Nonetheless, Twilight smiled and quietly trotted upto her,

“Hello Star Shine,” She whispered, waiting for the young filly to fully wake up.

Star Shine blinked a couple times in disbelief, then gave the biggest smile Twilight had ever seen; even bigger than Pinkie Pie’s.

“Oh my goodness! Princess Twilight! You came! You really came!” She cheered quietly; Twilight could see that Star Shine was very weak.

“Of course I came; you’re my biggest fan, so I’m your biggest fan,” Twilight replied, trying not to tear up. “So Star Shine, is there anything you want? I could give you any gift that you desire, and it will be my treat.”

The filly thought for a moment, then shook her head, “All I ever wanted was to see you Twilight,” She whispered, “And I’ve now got that.”

Twilight was about to reply, but Star Shine suddenly closed her eyes and her heart beat began to slow down.

The doctors around Star Shine began to panic, getting all sorts of equipment out,

“Someone check that her blood supply isn’t going low, and make sure she’s getting enough oxygen!” The doctor commanded everypony. Rushing around the room trying to get everything sorted. He quickly turned to Twilight, “Your majesty, thank you so much for coming. We’ll write to you if- I mean, when she wakes up.” He quickly said, but there wasn’t much hope in his eyes. Twilight nodded respectfully and turned around to go back home. Before she left, she turned her head to Star Shine,

“I promise that I’ll make you better, even if it means reading every book in Equestria to find a cure.” She vowed, hoping with all her heart she’d be ok.
