Chapter 1: Time Gone Awry
After Nightmare Night
Luna laughed as they trotted over to her chariot, where her night guards had been waiting. Despite all that had gone wrong tonight, Luna felt that the good far outweighed the bad. She had so much fun.
"I thank thee Twilight, We haven't had this much fun in a 1000 years, twas quite enjoyable." She said smiling.
"Im glad you enjoyed it Princess, I hope you come by to visit every now and then, so you can become more accquainted with the ponies here in Ponyville." Twilight replied.
"I believe I shalt do that, when I have the time." smiling, she stepped up onto the chariot and took off into the sky.
She knew from what Twilight had explained to her, that her sister would probably be recieving a letter tonight. She had also heard from her friends as well. Apparently Twilight was prone to panic attacks if she didn't do something right or on time. It made her laugh to know just how in control she felt she needed to be. It was cute. As she flew, she glanced down, noticing a few couples lying out on the grass in the cool night, looking up at the stars.
It made her happy that ponies enjoyed her night, but it also made her sad to know that they could find love, and she could not. Not once in her lifetime had she ever been with anypony, nor slept with any. Ponies believed she was untouchable, unobtainable. She hated it.
When they landed at the castle, her sister was there to greet her.
"Hello Luna, I trust your trip to Ponyville went well?" Celestia asked.
"It went as well as thou said it would. Thy residents of Ponyville were fearful at first, but after meeting Twilight Sparkle and friends, We were able to make amends with the townspeople, and the fun was doubled!" she said happily.
She couldn't keep quiet the fact that she had made a friend. She hadn't had any friends in such a long time, she had almost forgotten what it was like.
"Im glad to hear that, and I must say, it all fits quite well with the letter I just recieved. Im glad to see you have made some friends as well." Celestia said as she trotted into the castle with her sister.
Luna smiled.
"She said she hoped We would visit often, to get to know the residents of Ponyville."
"Thats wonderful Luna, It's good to see you taking an active roll in our subjects lives. It not only gives them something to lookforward to but it makes them happy." she replied.
Luna bade her sister good night as she went to raise the sun. Luna trotted into her room as she removed her regalia. As she lied down upon her bed, she felt exausted. She closed her eyes and fell into the grasping arms of sleep.
Luna trotted down an empty path, down the center of Ponyville. As she looked around, she became slightly suspicious. Where was everypony?
She decided to pay a visit to Twilight, as she turned the corner to find herself standing in front of the library. She trotted forward and knocked on the door, waiting for a reply. The door opened, revealing Twilight, her mane was up and she was wearing a fancy dress.
"Welcome to the library Luna, I hope your ready for our date." Twilight said, smiling enthusiastically.
DATE!!!!! WHAT DATE!?! she thought as she entered the building.
Twilight led her to a table that was now sitting in the middle of the room. All the bookshelves had gone missing, and on the table, were two candles, and a vase, filled with her favorite flower.
Midnight Lillies.
It was the most romantic thing she had ever seen, and it was for her. She didn't remember asking the unicorn on a date, but at the moment she didn't care. She was about to speak, when she found that her lips were now preoccupied.
Oh gosh! S-she's kissing me?!? she thought, quite surprised.
As they kissed, Luna found herself in a state of complete bliss. Never before had anypony shown her such kindness and passion before, it made her heart flutter. Twilight then pulled away, leaving poor Luna wanting more.
"Luna, it's time for you to raise the moon." Twilight said, only it was no longer Twilights voice, it was her sisters.
Luna awoke to find her sister standing next to her bed, tapping her shoulder.
"I'm up, I'm up." She replied groggily as she moved from her bed.
"Good, I hope you slept well, It looked like you were having a very enjoyable dream." Celestia said, as she motioned to a wet spot on her bed, where her marehood had just been. She blushed heavily at the fact that her sister had seen that.
"It was quite enjoyable, to say the least." Luna replied.
"Was it about anypony I know?" Celestia asked, a sly smile on her face.
"U-uh, um no it wasn't anypony of coincidence." Luna said blushing even more as she raised the moon. Her duties done, she turned toward her sister to find her staring at her.
"Come now Luna, I know when your lying. Who was it?" she smiled sweetly. Luna knew she could never resist her sisters smile.
"Twilight Sparkle. she mumbled.
"I'm sorry Luna, but you're going to have to speak up."
"T-Twilight Sparkle!" She blurted as she placed her hooves over her face, waiting for her sister to scold her.
"There, that wasn't so hard now was it? So, it seems you've got more than just feelings of friendship toward my student?" she questioned.
"Y-yes..."
"Well, thats wonderful Luna. Im happy for you." She said as she leaned forward, hugging Luna in a light embrace.
"Your not mad?" Luna asked.
"Of course not, why would I be?" she replied.
"Well she is your student and you do spend a lot of time with her..." Luna said, unable to finish her sentence.
"Yes she is my student and yes we spend time together, but that doesnt mean we're together." she replied, smiling. She knew exactly what her sister was talking about.
"I don't know why though." Luna said, frowning.
"Why what? What's wrong?" Celestia asked, her voice filled with concern.
"Why am I feeling this, why do I feel like I want to be with her so badly?" Luna asked.
"I think I can answer that, While you were on the moon, you experienced nothing but loneliness for a 1000 years, and now you have somepony who see's you as a pony, not as a Princess. If I had to guess, I'd say your mind is trying to fill all that lost time all at once. I think you may have developed genuine feelings for her." Celestia explained.
"Luna, I think you're in love."
