Emergency Landing
Refuge In The Woods
Previous ChapterTime: 3:20 PM
Flight Status: Currently flying towards Lisbon, Portugal with no trouble.
Current Location: Over the Bermuda Triangle.
Current Altitude: 31,203 Feet (9510 Meters) Above The Ocean (Cruising Altitude).
The cabin was mostly silent. Any noises were mostly drowned out from the sounds of the turbines humming loudly. Not many people were looking out their windows as they were flying over the ocean, not allowing much objects of interest to be seen. Everyone was mostly quiet in the plane. The large jet soared thousands of miles above the ocean as it was headed towards the country of Europe.
"It's been an hour or two, and we still haven't fell into the ocean. You still scared, Wess?" A teenage girl mockingly asked, sitting next to a window.
"Patrica, can you please shut up? I'm just on here because my mom made me go on this school trip."
"Fine." Patrica groaned. "But you don't have to wear that seat belt the whole trip. You haven't taken it off since we... Well, took off!"
"And I'm going to laugh when I see you fly out the window." Logan replied, crossing his arms and looking down the rows of seats in front of him.
"Come on, being in a plane is safer than being in a car."
"Yeah, until it crashes."
"This plane won't crash."
"I bet it will."
"I bet it won't."
"I bet it will."
"Will you two shut up?" A man in the row behind them asked. "I'm trying to read."
"Sorry!" Patrica apologized, turning her head towards the man behind her. She then looked back at Wess. "Come on, if it DOES crash, the pilots will know what to do. We'll land in the water, most of us won't be injured, and we'll just be on rafts waiting for rescue."
"That will never come." Wess continued her sentence.
"You know what, I'm done." Patrica said, throwing her arms into the air. "I'm just going to not talk to you."
"Suit yourself." Wess sighed, thankful that the girl she was stuck with was going to now be silent. He laid back into his seat, letting the blue cushions support his weight. He tugged at his seat belt to make sure it wasn't loose.
Suddenly, a bright light shone through the windows of the aircraft. It grew brighter and brighter up to the point where you'd go blind if you kept looking at it.
"What the fuck is going on!?" Wess asked, frantic, clutching onto the arms of his seat.
"I don't know." Patrica muttered, pulling down the plastic cover to block the light from coming in.
Then, the plane violently and suddenly shook downward, throwing anyone not strapped into their seats towards the ceiling. They kept flying up and down smashing into the floor and ceiling repeatedly as the plane violently shook. Screams filled the cabin.
"OH FUCK!" Wess screamed, clutching to his chair even tighter. He felt his stomach rise and fall with the plane as it shook.
Suddenly, the plane turned sharply downwards and spun around. He heard a metallic groan from several rows behind him. A crash resounded and wind blew past him. It grew harder for him to breathe as the wind blew past him. Several people got sucked out of the plane along with several bags. Oxygen masks dropped from their compartments in the ceiling. Wess frantically grabbed one, strapped it on and tightened it to his mouth. The plane spun and spun as it went towards the ground. Just as Wess accepted his fate, the plane was pulled up and now gliding again, throwing anyone still not strapped down towards the floor and causing everything to be crushed by gravitational forces pulling down on everything in the cabin. He looked out the window and saw he was no longer over the ocean. He could see himself zooming dangerously close over a landscape. Soon, the plane zoomed over a small town. He took notice of the fact that it was now also nighttime outside.
"EVERYONE BRACE!" He heard the pilot yell over the speaker. He bent forwards and covered his head as he hoped he wouldn't get killed in the crash.
He felt a large bump and felt the plane vibrate yet again. However, he could now tell the plane was sliding along the ground. The bangs from outside could be interpreted as trees, rocks, and bushes getting caught in the downed aircraft's path. The plane slowed to a halt.
He took notice of how much fewer screams there were in the cabin. He saw most of the seats empty as he unbuckled himself from the seat he sat in. Patrica was nowhere to be found.
"Wess! Come on! We got to get out of this plane!"
Wess, without responding, grabbed his backpack his was caught in between his legs and got up from his seat. He saw only a few people running towards the emergency exits.
"I fucking knew it." Wess muttered to himself as he saw someone open an emergency exit. He almost tripped over what he hoped wasn't a person.

"You brought your backpack out here?" Logan asked, walking over to Wess who was up against a tree.
"Yeah, it has my stuff in it." Wess replied.
"Wess, I don't think that a backpack is THAT important. We're stuck in the middle of the damn woods."
"Would you shut the hell up, asshole? This thing is important to me!" Wess angrily hissed, unzipping his backpack and pulling out his laptop. He powered it on, and was relived to see it was still in working condition. "Oh thank goodness."
"That is just sad. I mean, really Wess? We're god knows where, our parents are at home expecting us to be in Lisbon, and they have no idea where the hell we are! Two of our teachers are dead, but you only care about your laptop? What the fuck is up with you?"
"Logan, this thing is important to me. Period. Now do me a favor and go bug someone else."
"Fine!" Logan loudly exclaimed, waving his arms in the air. "I'll go bug someone else!" Logan stomped off as Wess powered down his computer. People were laying in a grassy field about a hundred yards away from the plane. People were panicking, some were upset, some were injured. It was a disaster come to life. More people would've been alive if everyone got warning, but the turbulence happened too fast for any type of warning to be given. Only the paranoid, sleeping, or just plain lucky people were alive and mostly unharmed now. Only a few managed to get uninjured if they didn't wear their seat belt.
"Everyone listen up!" A pilot yelled, raising his arms in the air to grab everyone's attention. "We currently have no idea where we are. However, there IS a town nearby, and we got someone to go and get help from us. Soon there should be some medical teams here to help us out."
"Where are we?" A red haired woman asked. "If we are near a town, we at least should have cell phone reception!"
"And why is there mountains everywhere? Last I remembered we were over the ocean" Logan yelled.
Arguments spurred between the uninjured survivors. The pilot yelled at everyone to quiet down.
"Everyone! Quiet!" The pilot yelled. Everyone followed the order. "Thank you, now as I said, medical personnel should be arriving soon. We all just have to wait!"
"Hey!" The co-pilot yelled. "She's back with some others!"
Everyone looked back towards the plane, expecting emergency sirens and medical personnel. However, everyone except the pilots grew confused when they saw it was just a group of animals. All of the animals too grew confused at the sight of the survivors too except for a single butter yellow one.
"This ain't the paramedics!" A man angrily yelled. "Those are fucking animals!"
"What is with the pilot!? Is he damn blind?" A woman angrily said.
"Only fifteen people survived out of over four hundered?" Wess gasped. "Holy shit! We are damn lucky!"
"I know." Tim said. "Man, what a school trip this turned out to be. This'll probably be our last one too."
"I swear, over the ocean, and then we are in the middle of... God KNOWS where! What else is going to happen? Are we going to be saved by animals?"
"You got to be fucking kidding me."
"What?"
Tim pointed at a group of equine animals. Wess had his jaw drop.
"Are we dead and in purgatory or something?" Tim asked.
"What's that?" Wess asked, still looking at the equines who were going over to where three of the injured laid, two carrying medical bags.
"Oh right. Atheist." Tim remembered. "Wow, one of them is wearing a stethoscope and glasses."
Wess felt something bump into him. He grunted as Tim yelped from the suddenness. He looked over and saw an orange equine. It barely stood a bit taller over him. If he were to stand, she'd be 4/5 of his height.
"Sorry about that! Ah wasn't looking at where Ah was going. Ya okay?" The orange stetson-wearing pony asked.
Wess and Tim both stared at the mare in shock.
"I think we might be dead." Tim muttered.
"I don't think you can feel anything when we're dead." Wess replied, still staring at the mare.
"Um, of course ya both aren't dead. Why'd ya think that?" The mare asked.
"Because horses aren't supposed to talk."
"Ah'm a pony. Not a horse."
"Ponies can't talk either."
"Well, you're seeing one talk right now." The mare replied in an obvious tone.
"Well how... Never mind." Wess gave up on the question and decided to ask what was on his mind. "Hey, do you have any idea where we are?"
"Yer outside the town of Ponyville. Why'd you ask?"
"Ponyville?" Tim repeated, confused.
"We were over the fucking ocean last I checked, miles away from land." Wess responded.
"Huh, Ah wonder how that must have happened to ya'll." The mare wondered, rubbing her chin with one of her hooves.
"And also, do you have a name?" Tim asked, finally speaking.
"Yeah. Mah name's Applejack." The mare replied. "Yours?"
"Tim." Tim answered.
"I'm Wess." Wess said immediately after.
"Pleasure to meet ya both." The cowpony replied. "Ah would love to sit and chat, but Ah'm sure the injured ones need some help."
Applejack trotted off towards where the injured laid. Wess and Tim looked at each other as she trotted off.
"I think we're dead." Tim muttered.
"Me too." Wess replied. "Nothing makes sense anymore."
"You can say that again."
