"The omen of the
Accursed Purifier
was one of ravenous
infernoes. All that
would consume
the world."
Flameberge. It was a name that hadn't been mentioned for hundreds of years. The sources of his beginnings had been kept in the old tomes of Dalinix. After the encounter with him in the Bleak Coliseum almost four days ago, the mages had been hard at work. Looking for the old knowledge to defeat this foe who almost destroyed the world.
Those warriors who'd survived were sent back to their homes. Home was not the same, now that the presence of evil spread across the world. Ponies had become more skittish and paranoid. Magic ponies could feel a chill of evil at certain times of the day. Pegasi could sense darkness in the air. Earth ponies could tell the surroundings were dying.
With Summer's end fast approaching and Autumn's breeze upon the land, time seemed to fade quickly. It was now late August and soon September would bring the festivities of happiness to a solemn populace. In the meantime the warriors meant to bring glory to their kingdom were put back to their normal duties. What they'd experienced however, would put them on edge; Eager to fight again.
Inside Dalinix's floating fortress mages of all ages and experience studied ancient literature and alien tomes. This sudden increase in anxiety left the Archmage worried. This would seem suspicious to the other kingdoms and possibly a prelude to an attack. She was not the only one with such thoughts.
Ralentald's production of arms increased in response to Flameberge's appearance and an expected fight between him. In Avextrix, patrols became more frequent and trade slowed for worry of invasion and espionage. Tridonstris sent out more galleons to watch the coasts and foreign boats were searched more thoroughly than usual. Even Fornestria prepared by sending more scouts into the forests and strengthening their magic barrier.
Tensions were even higher as each ruler speculated the other was preparing for war. Communications between them dwindled and it seemed that fights would break out soon. The more pacifist ponies cried out, only to delay what seemed inevitable. It was only a matter of time now. It felt as though everything was now.
