The Moon had shown bright that night over Ponyville. The lunar sphere signaling to its residents that the experiences of the day-weather-good or bad- were now behind them.One by one the lights that kept their homes ablaze flickered out as they retired for the day, hoping and knowing another one would be waiting for them in just a few short hours.

Far above the atmosphere in the space almost nopony though to occupy, a comet was headed for Equestria. The comet, hundreds of years old, bathed in blue, and streaking a golden hue was set to make its day view again in just mere hours. This comet had passed by for hundreds of years, but alas after each appearance it became less known than the previous time. The comet hadn’t passed in decades and in those few short years a meteor had come into orbit.

This newer, younger meteor was unlike the one before it in almost every way. It had almost entered the atmosphere several times and still boarderlined falliing from the heavens. It trailed a burgundy streak in the sky and seemed to emit a gray arua. The meteor soon became a comet, coming closer to the earth. Wavering slightly it eventually turned back into a meteor, no longer gracing the black sky with a stream of red, as it fell making a headlong collision with Equestria.

Entering the atmosphere of the planet was no easy feat. It being a meteor had no direct control over how, where, and when it landed. All it could do was wait. The meteor soon was a flaming streak as it prepared to touch down at one of the most infamous place in Equestria: The Everfree Forest.

The Everfree was in the middle of one its storms. The weather always seemed to have a mind of it’s on there, unlike the rest of the world normally controlled by the weather ponies and other pegasi. Its main inhabitants were monsters only indigenous to that area. This strange and foreboding place was where hydras, paraspites, an interesting zebra, and other unique creatures called their home. At the moment lighting shot from all directions and rain poured down relentlessly showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.

The meteor would soon come in contact with the Everfree almost certainly wiping out a good sized chunk of the forest.

The meteor,soon be a meteorite broke the surface of the clouds threatening to scorch everything in a mile radius and the animals within it.

No one would see what had happened that night. Not even the stars themselves as their shining eyes were obscured by the clouds. A burst of lightning descended from the clouds, seeming to be right from Celestia herself. The blast of pure energy came into direct contact with the meteor. For a second time seemed to slow down. Everything holding an red aura to itself for a slight second and holding it's breath in anticipation to what would happen next.

The lightning bolt sent the meteor hurdling in the other direction. It sailed deeper into the Everfree, only breaking the sound barrier as it crash landed in the familiar ruins where two sisters brought up in royalty once ruled and where six friends vanquished the Mare in The Moon.
