Chapter 1 – Maybe for the...
You steady your breath as you focus on the soft voice that seems to be coming from inside your head.
“Just calm down, magic can’t be rushed.”
The breeze that slowly moves through the courtyard helps you calm down after your last failed spell attempt. You look to Twilight as she still stands beside you calmly explaining how easy magic is to use…lies, “Just focus on your target breath deep and picture what you want to happen…ok!?”
You look over her excited smile as you nod. With a new sense of confidence you turn to face your target. The fake wood pony dressed in the normal guard armor is what you set your eyes on. With a deep breath and a dug in stance you start to imagining what you want to do, as you feel a tingling sensation flow through your body you hold your stance a bit longer as you focus more on your target. With a slow release of your lungs you flung your head down towards the wooden pony.
You open your eyes at the right moment to watch as a gust of green light hits the fake pony. As the light engulfs the dummy it starts to corrode the wood until it collapses to the ground.
You let out a happy yell as you turn back to Twilight.
She happily claps her hooves together as she nudges her brother who stands next to her. Shining's mouth hangs down as he looks at the collapsed dummy.
The tingling in your body that has not subsided feels good and is starting to entertain your overjoyed attitude as you speak to him an a cocky voice, “Not bad hu?”
He rubs his neck as he looks at the heap of wood and metal, “I think I need new armor.”
Twilight embraces you with a hug as she talks, “See I told you it was easy…”
Your smile starts to fade as you feel the still prominent tingling sensation start to leave your body. Twilight shakes now as she holds you, “Twilight?”
Her voice is shaky as she talks, “Di…did…you use….a transfer spell?”
You try to push off of her as you talk, “Ya Celestia showed me it, why are you holding me so tight?”
Your eyes are drawn to the part of her mane that you can see from how she is holding you, the purple color looks like it’s starting to fade and it looks like it is turning into a dull gray. Your voice is a little more rushed as you struggle to get loss of her grip, “Twilight! Twilight!”
You hear her voice whimper next to you, "i-i can't."
You continue to struggle with no luck; her warm fur is starting to feel a bit colder as she continues to hold on to you as her coat turns colder and colder.
Your eyes open to a light squeeze around your sides.Your dream daze fades as you study the all white marble wall in front of you, which helps to push your nightmare to the back of your mind. You bring your hooves up to your face as you rub your eyes. You miss the feel of your knuckles on your eyes when you would rub them, a hoof feels like rubbing your wrist to your eyes…but it still works.
You bring your eyes down to the purple death lock your still currently in. Your dream is pushed into the back of your mind as you smile at her sprawled out over you. Decide on a counter attack to her death grab, you’re quick to flip over as you embrace her with a hug.
Twilight awakes with whimper, “Good morning.”
You quickly release her from your grip as thoughts from your still vivid dream pour back into the front of your mind, you speak in a low voice as you look her over, “How are you feeling.”
Twilight stares at you and then dramatically puts a hoof over her head, “Oh my head, my head.” She smiles back at you with one of her eyes open, “Told you I was fine… just a magical build up.”
You give a smirk to her comment, “Magical build up?”
She stretches and yawns as she talks, “You know that human magic is different than pony magic, that’s why the Princess wanted me to train before using it on Discord’s statue.” She looks at you and motions with her hooves as she talks, “That was a BIG spell and it just caused a magical overload in my horn.”
You blow at her statement, "ok, then what was with being sick in the morning?"
She gives another yawn as she sits up in the bed, her voice is a little annoyed as she answers you, "I already told you i'm fine."
You still don’t feel satisfied with her answer as you continue to question her, “Don’t you think human magic is a bit.” You pause at the next word giving it some thought before you speak, “Dangerous?”
Twilight giggles at your comment, “Magic is magic, it’s just a different way I have to use it.” She
Your mind now drifts back to yesterday as you talk, “But pears should not use magic.”
Twilight gives a giggle as she looks at you in confusion, “What?”
You feel dumb as you think out what you just said, better luck next time, “Yesterday Celestia had me transfer magic into a pear as like a test or something.”
Twilight listens eagerly as you pause to think out how to word it.
Twilight gives a laugh as she gets out of bed, “Pears are not ponies.” She stands at the side of the bed as she looks at you, “Now get up.”
You give a sigh, “Why? It’s early.” You point your hoof to the window, the bright sunshine and the noise from outside does not help your statement…dame pony time.
Twilight looks unamused at you, “We need to get this washed and I need to be early this time for Celestia’s training.”
You let out a huff as you talk, “Why do you need to do Celestia’s training you already sent Discord away, what more does she want?”
Twilight pulls the covers from you as she talks, “I still have a duty to Equestria to help protect it and anyway I can, and if Celestia thinks using a more powerful magic is a good thing.”
Note to self don’t argue with Twilight in the morning. You swallow back your next comment as you place your hooves on the cold marble floor, “just…don’t use it if you don’t feel good. Ok?”
Twilight stops balling the sheets up as she looks at you, “Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.” She gives a light chuckle at the end of her sentence as she walks out of the room, “Let’s get something to eat.”

Chapter 2
“Ugh.” Spike continues his annoying groans as he pats at his stomach “Do think there is ever too much of a good thing?”
Twilight answers in a huffy voice, “Yes Spike I do, eating a crystal plate is probably not the best thing to do.”
Spike gives a gentle laugh as he stares into space, “ya, but it was so good.”
You and Twilight both roll your eyes as you enter Celestia’s throne room.
“Good morning Princess.”
Celestia gives a nod to Twilight but continues to look over a few papers she floats pass her. You take your normal spot off to the side of the room with Spike as you prepare yourself for another long day of sitting in an incredibly to bright room on a hard stone bench.
Twilight respectfully waits for the Princess to finish looking over the papers. After a few moments Celestia looks to her student, “You look to be in a better mood today.”
Twilight gives a nod to her comment.
You look over Twilight as thoughts off last night turn your face to a smile. Your mind quickly stops as you catch Celestia shooting you a smile. Your fast to break eye contact with her as you stare at the ground…please don’t read mind please don’t read minds.
“I’m ready for anything today Princess.” Twilight holds her head up high as she looks to her glowing
Celesta brings her eyes from you as she talks, “Well I do not believe there is anything that needs to be done today Twilight.”
Spike nudes you with a smile as he whispers into your ear, “Free day.”
Twilight looks at her a bit confused, “But I thought you wanted me to use more human magic?”
Celestia’s demeanor changes a little bit as she studies Twilight, “I feel as though you have done enough in the past few days, I do not want to keep dipping into an unknown magic for now until side effects can be know.”
Your mind sticks to her comment as her and Twilight continue back and forth, what does she mean side effects? You listen a bit more closely at the conversation.
“…Twilight in the past few days you have enclosed a focus of chaos and then sent it to another world, all with the help of an unknown magic. I am very proud of you.” Celestia gives a sweet smile as she continues, “But a new form of magic is not something you need to worry about right now.”
Twilight gives a reluctant nod to Celestia as she turns toward the door.
You and Spike follow behind her. As the door closes behind you Spike lets out a joyful chuckle, “Ah man a free day! Where are we going Twi? The theater? The wonderbolts track? Oh I know the gem museum.” Spike gives a slobbery lick as he pauses for Twilight.
You think on the things he just listed, theater? Do they have movies in Equestria? You think through everything you know about this place and can’t find an answer, but the thought of a pony terminator or a pony James Bond makes you laugh. You too also wait for Twilights answer with your ears perked up.
Twilight turns around and taps her hoof to her mouth as she thinks, “Hm, you're right Spike we can go anyway we want.” She continues to tap her hoof as she thinks. Your excitement builds as she starts to smile. “Lets go to the Canterlot library!” She gives a happy smile as she looks at you both.
Spike slumps back with a huff at her comment.
You stare at her happy expression as you think, come on Twilight you live in a library! But before you can interject she continues to happy squeal as she pulls you down the hall with her hoof, “OH you will love the library, it was my favorite place when I was a filly.” Twilight lets go of you as she motions with her hoof, “I can also do some research on my own for the Princess.”
You give a sigh as you talk, “But didn’t Celestia say you don’t need to be doing that?”
Twilight shrugs your comment off, “That has never stopped me before from studying anything the Princess might need me to learn.”
Spike nudges you as he comments under his breath, “Ya, that’s why she didn’t have friends until she
You give a light laugh at his comment.
Twilight rolls her eyes with a bit annoyed at his comment, “No, I had friends.”
Spike crosses his arms as he talks, “Oh ya? Name somepony.”
Twilight breaks her confidant look as she trots down the hallway with her head up, “You wouldn’t remember them you were too young.”
Spike claws to himself as he walks next to her, “Too young? That was like two years ago.”
Your smiles fades as you drift back on an old thought…how old is Twilight.
Your day dream doesn’t get to last long as you near the room, “I thought we were going to the library.”
Twilight nods as she ducks into the room, “We are I just need to get my satchel to carry the books back.”
Spike leans against the wall next to you, “She acts like she hasn’t read anything before.”
Twilight calls out from the room a bit annoyed, “I heard that.”
After a few moments she emerges with the satchel around her and floating a red cape up to her face, “Why is this in my bag?”
You put on a straight face as you look at the cape Sweetie Belle gave you. You give a shrug as she looks at you.
Twilight giggles as she floats it around you, “Look now you’re a cutie mark crusader.”
You look down at the poorly done emblem of the pony, but you don’t care as your mind weights on your current thought, I don’t care…I have a cape. You watch as the red cape is untied with the purple magic and is floated into the room, “Ok, come on you two.”
You follow behind Twilight as you mentally plan what you’re going to do at a library, first things first, don’t touch any book, not being pulled into a book sounds really good for a day away from magic.

Chapter 3 – This is my …WHAT!?
As the big marble building comes into view you’re again amazed at what you are seeing. There are two flights of stairs leading up to a large glass opening doors, to each side of the walk way up there are four sets of large columns that reach up to the overhang of the building. On the second flight of stairs there sits a large stone figure of a unicorn reading a book. You look over the outside of the building one last time before you follow Twilight and Spike inside, you can’t believe ponies can build these things, you feel a little embarrassed that sometimes you still have trouble walking but yet ponies can build well this.
As you follow Twilight into the building you again feel your jaw drop, to your right there is a normal checkout counter with a yellow unicorn behind it. But in front of you there is a two floored vast array of books and shelves everywhere, each aisle has a moveable ladder to reach the top of the self, which makes you wonder how many books are actually in this library. As you wall to the middle of the room you turn your body around to see that the top floor hangs over the entrance. You look straight up to the circular sunroof that sheds light in, you can’t tell if it’s the light reflecting off the clear stander Contort marble floor or the vast amount of colored ponies around the room but the library gives off a joyfully atmosphere.
Twilight gives you a nudges, “ya, Ponyville library does not even compare.” You look over her face as she stares around the room, you don’t like books and a library is not the first place you would have picked but this place is nice.
Twilight pulls out a list from her bag, “Ok, time for business, we need to find any and all books about magic and magical side effects.”
Your thoughts drift from the beauty of the room as the words sink in…I’m going to be a statue pony in a book by the end of the day. Your mouth feels dry just thinking about it.
She folds it back into the bag, “Ok, Spike you two start down here, I’m going to go upstairs and look around.” She playfully taps you as she talks, “Don’t worry these books are probably not enchanted.”
“You can count on me Twilight.” Spike dips into the bag and takes the list from it as he studies over it.
You watch as Twilight walks away and you think, thanks Twi because a probably not cursed kind of thing is always reassuring. As you watch her walk away your eyes drift down to her backside, you’re quick to hike them up as Spike talks at you, “Ok seeing as how I am the number one assistant I am the boss ok?”
You look over the two foot purple dragon in front of you, “Rainbow’s right you did look better pink.”
Spike gives a nervous laugh as he scoots away from you, “Come on.”
You follow Spike down the aisles of the bookshelves as he calls out names of the books you should be looking for. But you’re too focused on commenting on the titles of the books you walks past, after a few moments Spike’s voice becomes a distant call. But this only seems to help your mind as you look over the books in front of you.
Babe the sheep , you give a laugh at the title “HA, spin off.” Road to nowhere, read it. You continue to glance at the titles, Time shiftier you hoof the book to yourself as you read the back, The evil scientist known as Lab Rat has made a time machine and is now treating to overthrow the empire by using the past against the future…. “What section am I in?” You look up to the sign above the aisle, fiction.
You put the book back and continue to read the titles you pass by, Dr. Sass's the pony in a boot , you chuckle a little at the title. Small stallion is small , you stare at the book for a moment, “Ha, Great name.” you continue down the aisle, First impressions, Fading Rainbow, The return of a Prince. You give a glance in front of you as you talk, “Hey Spike what are we…” It’s at this moment you realized Spike is no longer near you, “Spike?!”
You hear a famine voice behind you, “Shhh.”
It’s the yellow unicorn from the front of the desk.
You sheepishly slink out of the aisle as you enter the next one, this time you are a bit more quiet as you call for Spike, “Spike?” As you poke your head in and out of each aisle the ponies in them give you a dirty look, and each time you have to awkwardly apologize, which in all honesty you don’t know why you are doing this.
At the start of the sixth aisle you stop calling out for Spike and decide to go back to staring at book titles. You glance at the first book, Magic for derpys… your face losses it’s enthusiasm as you look at the tile again…why are you everywhere? You look up to see what section you’re in…fiction, “yep seems legit.”
You continue to study the tiles as you move past them, Demon days, MAybe always… as your eyes meet the next book The Three Little Ponies. You jump back at the titles name. But as you jump back you hit something and crash into the bookshelf behind you. The books from the shaken shelve all seem to find their mark atop your head as they fall one by one leaving a sharp jabbing pain in your head as you rub it after the assault of the suicide books.
“You okay?”
Your left eye is closed as you look to the male voice beside you, “Ya, I’m fine.”
A Blue unicorn stands next to you holding his hoof out waiting for you to grab hold, when you grab hold of him he apologies as he brings you to your hooves, “Ya sorry about that I was trying to put a book back but I seemed to have let the ladder to close to the walk way.”
You hold back a laugh as you say your name.
He looks at the mess around the floor for a moment, “That’s an interesting name for an earth pony.” He looks again at the mess around you both, “We should get out of the aisle before Ms.Worldly sees what we did to her book self. “
You follow the blue unicorn to another aisle just as the yellow librarian enters the aisle behind you, you hear a small yell from the aisle but you and Night Light have already ducked into another hallway. The unicorn stops as he talks, “I got to ask why is an earth pony messing around in a library of all places.”
You find the comment kind of weird but you answer anyways, “I’m here getting some books with my special somepony.” You give a little smile to your sentence, you don’t know why you wanted to say that but it makes you happy you did.
“Special somepony?” he gives a laugh before he continues talking, “Hearts and hooves day is over.”
You stare at him a little confused.
He stops his laughing for a moment, “oh ya, sorry I keep forgetting that stuff doesn't mean the same thing as when I was a colt.” He floats a book out from a blue satchel that hangs around him and places it on the bookshelf behind you, “Back in my day special somepony only meant that for the night.”
You feel a little uncomfortable at the turn in the conversation, great Night Light is some perv pony…should have guessed from the two moon cutie mark. You give a smile to your thought as you listen to the pony talk.
“Where did you say you were from?”
Your thoughts don’t immediately drift to Ponyville but you blurt it out figuring it would be easier to explain then a place with two legged apes, “Ponyville.”
He laughs before talking, “Oh well you should know all about special someponys there.” He nudges you what’s the ratio like five to one?”
You swallow as you think about it, you never did see couples until hearts and hooves day. “ya something like that.”
“Hey if you live there then you probably know…”
“Dad!”
You hear Twilight’s voice behind you and in a moments time the bolt of purple that is her dashes over to Night light into a hug.
“Twilight, your brother said you were in town, what took you so long to come to the library?”
Twilight breaks her dads hug as she walks closer to you, “we have been in the castle ever since Discord broke free again.”
Night light looks at you then back to Twilight, “Who’s we?”
Twilight clears her throat as she hoofs to you, “dad I would like you to meet my…” she pauses at the word, and your heart skips a beat as your mind screams oh shit don’t say it. “…colt friend.”
Your heart jumps back into place at the sound of the word…wait what does that mean? You give a quick look to Night light; his smile has faded as he stares at you. You smile back to him and give an awkward wave as you think to yourself, great this is how I die.

Chapter 4
Chapter 4 – Do they invisibility spells?
The hard walk way works against you as you follow behind Twilight and Night Light. Oh god why did I agree to this, every so often as Twilight and her dad continue talking the blue unicorn glances back to you, and each time you bring your eyes to the hard walk way beneath you.
You try to talk yourself into confidence as you near the restaurant you are supposed to be eating at, come on I have stood up to a god of chaos a blue unicorn should not affect me. You give a smile to the back of his blue mane as you continue to think, ya an alien magic pony is dating your daughter…Your confidence boost doesn’t last long as you see the sign of the restaurant, ‘Canterlot freshly’.
You look to the unicorns that sit outside, this place has chairs unlike the The Green Clover, but other than that it kind of looks the same. Your ears perk to the sound of a feminine voice calling out across the restaurant, “Twilight.”
Twilight picks up speed as she calls out, “Hi mom.”
You watch as Twilight embraces the white pony, you look over the mare; her hair is white with the same light purple streaks through it, in the same fashion as Twilights. You thought drift to Night Light as he takes his sat next to the white mare, his blue coat and darker blue mane bear no resemblance to Twilight’s. No wonder you could had never guessed he was Twilight’s dad she looks nothing like him.
As Spike takes a seat at the table you walk towards it, you’re quick to take the seat next to Twilight as you look past her dads glaring start to the more talkative mare.
“Shinning said you were back in Canterlot.” The pony brings her in for another hug as she continues to talk, “When we heard of Discord’s return we were so worried.”
Twilight gives a giggle as she pushes off her mother; her cheeks are a little red as she talks, “Oh mom, you know I’m always safe.”
The white mare holds her hoof as she brushes Twilight mane out of her face, “I know.”
Twilight looks embraced as her mother continues to talk, “You're bigger than the last time I saw you, It seems like only yesterday that you were a filly.”
Spike looks excitedly to the white pony as he sits up in his chair, “And I have gotten bigger to.” He points to himself with his claw as he smiles.
The white mare gives a laugh as she reaches across the table and pets Spikes head, “Yes, yes you have.”
She now turns her eyes to you, her bright blue eyes are a lot more inviting than Night light’s dullish orange ones, “I’m sorry and who are you?”
Before you can speak Night Light cuts you off with a few quick spoken words, “Twilight’s colt friend.”
He looks you over as he finishes his sentence.
Before the mare could talk Twilight gives a shaky laugh as she stutters on the words, “Yes, this is my colt friend.”
You feel a little disappointment at her change but you go with it as you introduce yourself to the white pony across from you.
The mare doesn’t seem to care about the transaction that took place a few moments earlier as she smiles to you, “My name is Twilight Velvet.”
You give her a friendly smile as you settle back in your chair.
Night Light’s lip quivers as he fidgets in his seat.
Velvet looks over you as she talks, “Are you from Fillydelphia?”
You give a laugh at the name, looks like ponies have the same taste in city name to, you shake your head at the question.
Twilight shifts at the question, “He’s not from Equestria.”
Night Light again looks up from his menu with a quivering lip.
Velvet moves a little closer as she talks, “oh a foreign pony where are you from?”
You and Twilight share a look before she continues to talk to you, “it’s a faraway place.”
Velvet gives an accepting nod as she continues to ask questions, “So what are you doing here in Equestria?”
You hold your head up with pride as you answer her question, “I’m helping Twilight study friendship for Celestia.”
Night Light gives an annoyed laugh as he hoofs out to you, “really? The Princess wants your help, nice one.”
You’re taken back by his sarcastic attitude a little, “why is that hard to believe?”
Twilight looks at her dad a little puzzled, “He really was tasked by the Princess to help me.”
Night light throws his hooves at you in a motion as he talks, “Honestly Twilight you should not make the poor guy come up with a story.” He gives another laugh as he talks, “You obviously have been down in Ponyville to long and you have fallen victim to some hillbilly earth pony.”
You’re shocked at his comment and strangely offended by it.
Twilight gives a surprised huff, “And what does an earth pony have to do with anything?!”
Night light crosses his hooves as he sits back in his chair, “Oh nothing, nothing at all. I mean why would I care about you throwing your life away for some talent less pony.”
You buckle as his words a bit, “What do you mean talent less?”
Velvet taps Night light as she talks; “Now I think you should apologize.” She gives a stern look at the blue unicorn.
Night light leans back as he hoofs to you, “Come on honey he doesn’t even have a cutie mark?!”
You push your hoof over you side as you talk back, “SO what does that mean, I can do anything?”
Night light laughs as he snaps back, “Don’t hurt yourself, who would carry Twilights bags!?”
“Dad!” Twilight stares at her dad in disappointment.
Spike and Velvet sinks in his chair as the atmosphere around the table turns heavy.
He settles as he looks at her, but continues to talk, “Oh that’s right I forgot Princess Celestia tasked him to help you with magic.” He smiles to you, “So what is it that you do again? Because when Discord attacked Canterlot I never heard your name mentioned.” He gives a sly smile as he shoots one more remake, “did you run like a good earth pony?” You feel your face becoming warm as she shoots back his next comment with a sly grin, “Well earthy?”
You finally break as you feel yourself shouting at him, “You want to settle something!?” Twilight pulls on you as you stand up.
Night light claps his hooves as he watches you, “Oh great guy Twilight.” His horn glows with a blue aura as you feel a pressure pushing down on your back, “Why don’t you take a seat before you do something stupid and get yourself hurt.”
A tingling sensation comes over your body as struggle to stay up; with a jerk of your head a stream of green magic breaks his aura around you. The menus and silverware on the table hit the ground with a clang, the ponies around the restaurant all turn and face your table in silence.
Night light rubs at his head as he looks to you in a state of bewilderment.
Velvet attempts to settle the already over boiled situation as she stands from her seat, “Ok, that’s enough you two.” She gives both of you a harsh as she turns to Night light, “Now I would like to give Twilight’s friend a chance if you don’t mind.”
Her words do little to curve your train of thought as you await Night light’s quivering lip. As he speaks his voice is shaky, “What…what hay are you!?”
Twilight is now standing from her chair as she puts her hoof on you, “Are you ok?’
Your face is still warm and your body continues to tremble, you know the annoyed anger that was swirling in you still lurks under your coat.
Night light call to her from across the table in a low voice, “Is he alright?! He’s not even normal! An earth pony that does magic!?”
You hear the on looking ponies making comments all around you, you’re not shy from crowds but at this moment you don’t feel too well.
Twilight gives an angered huff to her dad as she talks, “Maybe this wouldn’t have happened if you were not so judgmental.” You notice her purple eyes flicker a bit as she finish her statement.
Night light up his head down as he soaks up what she has finished saying.
Twilight turns herself to you as she talks, “Now are you ok?” You watch as her right hoof begins to leave the ground and reach towards you…in the brief moment your mind is flooded with your nightmare from this morning, the feeling that still clings to your coat only makes your fear for the dream worse. As her hoof comes closer to your chest you quickly and with a little bit of force smack it from your body.
Twilight is taken back by your sudden motion as she takes a step back from you, “ow.”
Your conflicted with your action but you know that may had been the only thing you could do, you stammer with your words as you look at her, “Twilight…I…I’m sor..” you can’t bring yourself to a proper apology as she stares at you, in her face you know she could not possibly understand.
You look to the other two ponies faces as you turn to leave the table, your stomach is tight and your head feels like its spinning but you know this is only way you can perhaps make anything better at this point.
End of chapter 4
Chapter 5- Collapse of the heart
Your face is cold as you rest it on the hardwood table. You don’t know how long you have let your mind punish you, at your best guess it’s well over a few hours but you’re starting to not be able to take it. Every time you try to push your thoughts back to the far ends of your mind they spring back harder and faster than ever. You rub your head as you give out a loud moan.
Your mind I interrupted by the sound of hooves on the marble behind you. As the clop of the hooves gets closer your body gets tense to ashamed to see who it is.
“Hello sir, are you wanting dinner yet?”
You allow yourself to turn to the sound chief pony’s voice.
Your voice is cracky as you answer him; mainly due to the long amount of silence you have been enduring, “n-no I’m ok.”
He gives an unpleasant look at the plate in front of you before he turns to leave.
As the sound of his hooves disappears you aging bury your head to the coolness of the wood. You close your eyes and give a sigh as you try to calm your still through ridden mind. At first you think it’s working but the sound of hooves clapping the floor behind you stops your progress, your eyes open as you listen to the hooves getting closer.
You feel a warm object being pressed into the fur on your back, you tense up but do not try to stop her this time as you listen to her voice from behind you, “You can’t do this anymore.”
Your face is still to the wood as she continues to talk at you. “I know something is up with you…But I also know THAT was not the best way to handle it.”
You swallow hard as you turn to her, “Are you ok?”
“Am I okay?” Judging by her tone you know you’re in for a lecture, she floats her satchel off of her and to the table as she talks, “I don’t know what you think you are protecting me from but THAT, that is not what you should do it.”
You break your eyes from her as she continues, “I wanted my parents to like you…just like I like you.” Again you feel her warm hoof press against you. At this point her voice is now a scolding tone. ”I would not have acted that way to your parents.”
Her comment strikes a chord in you as she talks, “I’m really I-…”
You cut her off before she can finish her sentence, “Well guess what Twilight you will never have to do that will you!”
There is a moment of silence as both of you realize what you both just did. Your stomach which has still not unnoted tightens more as her ears fold back, “i…I didn’t mean it like that.”
You swallow the thought away as you talk in a calmer voice, “Twilight your dad is right…”
She looks at you with an anxious face.
“…I don’t know what I am.” You give a laugh as you finish your sentence.
Twilight looks at you in confusion, “what…what do you mean?”
You look down at your hooves as all of your suppressed thought and feelings start to shake you, “Well, what am I Twilight? Cause I’m not human! And I’m certainly not a pony!"
You look to her for the answer but she can’t look you in the eyes, “You’re… You’re whatever you want to be.”
You give a chuckle to her vague answer as you think, ya that’s going to help.
Her voice is lower as she speaks, “Is that what your nightmare was today?”
You’re quick to snap your head to her, the word brings two thoughts up to your mind, the first and most recent still eats at you as you stare at her.
You look back to your hooves, “I’m sorry for what happened at lunch.”
She gives a nod as she talks, “I understand human magic can cause you to do or say something that you normally wouldn’t do, and I forgive you. “ She grabs one of your hooves as she talks now, “Now let me help you this time.”
You look down at her hoof wrapped around your own; you know why you did what you did… “You don’t understand Twilight.”
She pushes your head up to her face as she talks in a sweet and low as she look at you, “I’m starting to.”
You look over her life filled purple eyes, the sparking in them make gives you a little smile, but at the same time you also hold back the urge to cry as you notice her eyes a slightly darker shade then you remember. You hold her hoof a little tighter as you talk in a low voice "that’s what I’m afraid of."
