//-------------------------------------------------------// Blueblood the Innocent -by Captain Jakk- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Preparations //-------------------------------------------------------// Preparations This story, or my story, I guess I should say, began when I awoke early one morning to my mother knocking on my door. She was here to inform me I'd over slept once again, and needed to get up. My lush, blonde hair moved to the side in an unruly manner, something unexpected from me in the morning, and I peered around my room, which was furnished in typical Canterlot stylistics. Golden chairs, a fountain for no real reason; the usual. I ignore showering and simply use a brush to straiten my bed-head mane. I know, a prince being slobbish enough to not give a damn about how he smells or looks? How horrible! ... Not as bad, though, then what I was going to do tomorrow night. It wasn't really me though! I know no one wants to hear it, but if you'd just take the time to listen and connect the dots, you'd see my story is legit... Now then, I stumbled out of bed same as ever. Groaning from the nightmares I've been having, I looked over to my working desk where I have a picture of... her. Rarity, The Carousel Boutique manager that resided in Ponyville, had always caught my eye, ever since she saved all of Equestria from Nightmare Moon. I had dreams of her rejection many times, but none would compare to what happened tomorrow night. For the next few days after the Grand Galloping Gala, I'd go into a distraught state, and I wouldn't come out of my room thanks to all the grieving I did. What the being took from me that night, it was more then just happiness. He stole my hope away, and I knew after that night, I could never speak to Rarity again without being scolded. So, for, I'd say the next month or two, I stayed in my room, isolated from the world, only eating and drinking what little my body required to stay alive... On with the story, I guess... Sorry for jumping from part to part... So, I was the party planner this year, and Aunt Celestia trusted me with the decor, foods, and drinks. Naturally, I finished my part early. See, it's always too easy. All you do is hang up streamers and ribbons, choose the same dining deals you did last year, and the rest does itself. Then I was off to do my daily palace duties, like receive reports from Shining Armor, or finish my studies on magical distractions, when Aunt Celestia stopped me. "This year..." she began while I turned from the door way and smiled kindly towards her, "Rarity will be attending, and I know how much you've gotten into liking her." Naturally, I couldn't keep, not one secret from her. She was too good, she saw right through me. I chuckled and rolled my eyes. "It's a mere crush, nothing more. And how could one not like such an amazingly eye catching beauty as her?!" My aunt just giggled at my overly descriptive wordplay and said, "Just be sure to escort her through the palace tonight. Give her a tour, that's what she really wants. Oh, and try to behave..." During these sort of parties, I tend to get a litle too carried away, so her telling me to do this was justifiable. I promised I wouldn't let thing get out of hoof, and she bowed. Looking back at me, however, I noticed a frown... I shrugged it off and continued with my work. Little did I know at the time, right then and there, some creatures were sneaking into the palace, and one was headed to my room. For the rest of the evening, I patrolled the halls, taking a final note of everything that seemed out of place for tomorrow's festivities, and noticed something odd. One of the show cabinets, the kind that sit there but don't have anything inside of them, was open. I pondered why somepony would wish to go snooping around in a place that's one hundred percent empty, unless they didn't know it was just for show, and if that was the case, then we had an intruder on our hooves. who wouldn't know what those are used for? But I kept my head and continued. I'd alway been more paranoid than most, but usually, I was correct. This was no exception. I should've searched more thoroughly... Oh well... During the late ours, I'm not going to lie... I have my aunt's super sweet tooth! Oh, the wonders of the royal kitchen at night; they can be so, very luxurious! I'll start with a few cookies, and make my way to the jello. The, to finish off, I'd get the last slice of strawberry cake and some milk to wash it all down with. So I'm not perfect, nopony is. I'll tell you right now, I'm scared of the dark, I hate spiders, and there's many more things that many don't know, but that's irrelevant. orry for constantly getting side tracked. After I've chowed down on some yummy junk food, I headed to my room, mainly because I was finished with my daily activities, and being so full was putting me to sleep anyways. As I enter my room, it being dark, I magically brightened my horn only to see three scrawny looking ponies, purely black and extremely pissed looking. With fangs biting and magic slinging at me like speeding bullets, I was overtaken, and found myself a captured prisoner of these holed hoof slobs! They slung sticky green webs at me in a quickness, and before I was able to perform a simple escape teleport spell, they had me pinned, slung me upwards to the roof and hung me like a chandelier. I looked through the egg that incarserated me and observed the evil smiles on their faces. Struggling did me no good, as the more I moved, the tighter things felt. The tallest approached, snickering with every step and claimed in a scratchy, corrupted voice, "This... it's just too good!"
